The game is much more balanced than what you would think. Most survivors mains complain about killers having too much of an advantage while most killer mains complain about survivors. Truth is that it is pretty balanced, any one of the following can swing a game to favor one side over the other, maps, totem spawns, some perks will work great against one killer but do little against another.
-
Probably, Hawkins was a completely new map so I doubt there would be another new one. Better chance that they change up an existing map with a new central building like they did with clown and plague.
-
I like the challenges, but the rift isn't that big of a deal to me. Cosmetics are a nice reward, but I am not going to burn myself out to get them.
-
I just don't like the ones that have to be done in one trial, those do screw over your team pretty bad. The others can be done through normal gameplay. Bad teammates might try and focus on getting them done fast, but bad teammates is kind of normal.

Meh it's only a problem if you feel like it's something you have to do but that's on you because you don't.
I don't think some of these people know what optional means....

I like it for the different challenges it gives you to do. It is very grinding, but what isn't in this game? I don't really care about the premium version of the rift, all it gives you is cosmetics and auric cells. I will just continue to play as much as I normally do and then see how far I progress on the rift and decide then if I want to buy it or not. I know I won't be far enough to get 1000 a.c. back, but if I get 70% or so back then maybe. Sadly, the nurse skin is probably the best thing you can get and I don't play her.

Definitely a fair point, nobody is spending $1000 worth of cosmetics, and if you are killer main you will only be buying killers most likely, each killer costs 500 Auric Cells, so $5 per killer, meaning if you buy the base game at $20, every killer DLC will cost you $60, costing you about $80 total. Again, not realistic to assume you will buy every DLC, but I guess my point is that BHVR is becoming more greedy with their microtransactions.
They advertised that there would be significantly less outfits that only cost Auric Cells, but compared to the amount of Iridescent Shard outfits, they are nearly equal, if not more plentiful that Iridescent Shard only outfits, hell, Hillbilly doesn't have a single Very Rare outfit available for Shards. Now they have the Rift, which again, they advertised that everyone would be able to complete the Rift by only playing for about an hour a day, but surprise surprise, that clearly isn't the case and they want you to buy your way through the Rift if you want to unlock everything.
I don't see BHVR as greedy at all. You have to realize that this game is over 3 years old and is still growing. They have to find ways to make money to support this growth. They are finding ways to do that without forcing anyone to buy anything which is great. Many companies wouldn't bother with new updates, they would just come out with a new game each year and force everyone to buy a new copy or stop playing once they shut down the old servers. Saying that the game and every killer dlc is a lot at $80 is slightly misleading because that was spread out over 3+ years, and you don't need every dlc to enjoy the game. If someone is just now starting dbd, they can slowly pick and choose what killers they want to add and not have to drop $80 at once.

Werewolf, he could run on all fours for good map pressure and either have a shred type ability like demo or an ambush like piggy.
-
I love it! It has a free track, gives me bonus blood points for side missions, and even more free stuff if I choose to unlock it. Also, I won't buy until the end so I can see exactly what I get. Anyone that gets manipulated by this system is going to have much bigger problems in life.... "FOMO" or "keeping up with the Jones" is a behavioral problem, not a BHVR problem.
-
It is all optional and despite what some people say, it is all just for cosmetics. Plus, all you need to do is play as much or as little as you want until the last day of the rift and then look and see what you get for your ten bucks. If it doesn't seem worth it, then don't buy it! If it does, then buy it! And of course bhvr will let you buy a tier, why wouldn't they. It is something they can offer and I am sure people will be dumb enough to buy.
-
As stated by @InfinyMage , just wait the 60+ days and see how much progress you make on the rift and decide then if you want to buy it. You will be able to see everything that you will get at that point. I doubt it will be that easy, but it is possible to earn all 1000 auric cells back. If you can get them right back then it is a no brainer to buy the rift at that point.

Tell me when was the last time you saw someone run "This is Not Happening" before the Rift opened up?
I'll wait while you collect your thoughts, lol.
I know right, I didn't even remember what that perk did. I had to search my survivors to see if I had it on anyone. It was definitely one perk that I would pass on if I had a choice so it was only on about 3 of my survivors (all at 50)
-
I mostly like the secondary objectives except when they are the ones that must be done in one trial. Open 5 chests is fine because you will get that over a few games, but opening 3 in one game means you are just scrambling to get to those chests before anyone else and probably screwing over your team that match.
-
He was saying thank you and trying to give you a few more points. How else is he supposed to say thanks?

When they randomly extend the double bloodpoint events.
Did they?????

Getting messages telling you to go ######### after the match, that is slightly toxic.
-
I never thought so, but now I find myself doing it just because I already have everyone at level 50.... I would probably be better off getting and maxing all perks but it is kind of hard to care about getting level 3 monstrous shrine!

I thought it was, but when he threw in stats I have to wonder....

I love that it is still growing. I can't think of another game that I still play as much now as when it first came out, and it has been out for over 3 years! (ps4). Most games i don't even play at all after 1 year.

Legions a killer?
Cue rimshot!

You instantly gain everything you would have unlocked. Honestly you might as well wait until the last day to unlock it so you can see exactly what you get. Or if there is something specific you want to unlock, wait until you get to that spot.

I feel sorry for you that you cannot see why dbd’s battle pass is unfair, and that you think it’s okay for multi million dollar companies to take advantage of you and your wallet.
“Nobody’s forcing you” is a lie and it’s what they WANT you to think as they create impossible circumstances that strongly encourage you to buy into their system that uses real money to bypass such roadblocks.
Loot boxes and battle passes are cut from the same gambling cloth - you are not getting what you pay for, but a CHANCE to get what you want.
Please explain how this is unfair. You can play the game just like you always have, they give you extra challenges to do if you want, they show you exactly where you progress on the rift. You can wait until the last day of the rift and based on your progress you will see exactly what you get for your 1000 auric cells. They even give you some, if not all off your auric cells back. There is no chance/luck involved with this system if you just wait to unlock it. You can't compare it at all to loot boxes or any type of gambling.
-
Not only are they great skins, but we can actually use shards for them! Most of the good skins are always auric cells.

The fact there is no balance between survivors and some some killers..
The constant bouncebacks due to non dedicated servers where it seems the killer is always the host.. which already has the significant advantage of speed etc
The times where the unhook button doesn't work due to the above mentioned
Knowing that wiggling free is pointless as the killer isn't stunned long enough for it to be useful
Such a good game but I don't think the people behind it are good enough to make it worth long term play hence why its cheap and in game pass etc.
I also love how they have added even more pay to play features without major improvement in bugs etc
Nothing is pay to play, you could have gotten this game for free on ps plus and unlock every perk in the game without spending a dime. The rift is optional too, just gets you cosmetics which do not affect gameplay at all.
-
You can always wait to buy it, they still give you everything you earned up to that point anyways. I am planning on waiting til the last day and then look and see exactly what my $10 will get. Giving them the money now doesn't give you anything extra (other than using the free stuff you earn right away)

I found that in about web 99 for my huntress 😠

If you can’t tell the difference between a challenge and a roadblock specifically designed to frustrate, deny, and coerce you to spend more money, I feel really sorry for you.
I will try it and if I can't do it oh well. I can't be lured into spending money if I don't want to. If you have no self control then that's on you.
-
No, I like a challenge. I would rather just earn say 750 of a 1000 with challenging missions than 500 of 500 with all easy missions.

Are you aware that people actually don’t have 68 days for the pass since each tome is time locked? The fourth won’t be available until the end.
I am not aware, please explain if you can. I only played it a little bit last night and do not know all of the specifics.
-
Isn't the lore on the archives side, meaning that the paid version of the rift wouldn't affect it anyways?
-
That does suck if it the lore is locked down that tightly. I will be searching youtube before buying rift fragments just for that.
-
@pemberley said:
It’s because it’s not a free battle pass.
It’s a trial of the premium version.
“Look at what you COULD get if you fork over 1000+ auric cells! It’s not guaranteed but take your chances!”
It can actually be guaranteed... Just wait until the last day of the rift, see what progress you have made and you will see exactly what your 1000 auric cells will unlock. No surprises this way!
-
Yeah, games will probably be a little strange when you see survivors and killers looking for crows!!
-
Just don't play SWF!!
Thank you from all killers 😊

I could be wrong, but, if you buy the Premium Track of the Archives, the ending challenges are VERY difficult to complete, meaning you will not get the full 1000 Auric Cells you need to buy the Pass again.
One of the challenges is, "Hook Four Survivors in the Basement in a Single Trial." These challenges are only unlocked near the end of the Rift. They seem unreasonably difficult.
I figured it would be tough to earn back all 1000 auric cells so that the next pass would be completely free, but saying they are "forcing" you to buy cells is a stretch since it is a totally optional. You can still play the game as is without spending a dime and they even through us a bone with the free rift section.
-
How are they forcing you to buy auric cells?

My experience is the opposite; baby killers hardcamp, middle rank killers don't; red rank killers tend to.
Good to know. I don't think I ever made it to the red ranks as a survivor. I play more as killer, and i don't play enough in a month (either side) to get there.
-
I am on PS4 and get into lobbies pretty quick, usually less than a minute.
Camping sucks, but it tends to get better once you get into higher ranks. Seems like the noobs don't know what else to do, or they don't have perks to tell them where to go....
-
It would be the survivors fault more than the killer

@Croquedead said:
I love not playing the game. It made me appreciate other games so much
So why are you posting on a forum for a game you don't play????
-
I don't think so, a better argument would be that survivors do not get enough.
-
-
-
Not everyone is trying to suicide, sometimes bad internet is to blame. It only needs to lag for a second or two during the struggle phase and you die.
-
Playing as huntress and when you try to reload hatchets you accidentally find someone
-
When running bitter murmur and after they complete a gen they hop in a locker
-
If they would make monstrous shrine give a stack for each survivor hooked in the basement then I would be running that, agitation, and bbq every match
-
They should give monstrous shrine stacks like BBQ. It could be a great farming tool for blood points and wouldn't really hurt survivors because I don't think they really want survivors to die faster.
-
smh... I need to quit reading these forums, it is worse than the post game whining after matches. Behaviour doesn't owe anyone anything, get over yourself. Delays happen everywhere and will continue due to the increasing number of characters and maps. How much money are you out because of this delay??? Zero!!
