Not that big of a deal just to open the door. If a survivor is in the process of being hooked, then definitely wait until after they get hooked but it is fine to open them after that.
-
Firecracker worked for me. You want to get to the hook before he does and act like you are just body blocking the hook. When he gets close and is about to swing and hit you, drop the firecracker.
-
Just an fyi, you don't have to heal a survivor from start to finish to get that challenge. It is a total of 2 or 3 health states, just like the daily rituals.
-
She is the one who hangs out at black panther parties
-
I didn't think it was hard, but it is bad because many people do suicide on first hook when they don't get it. Also was bad because some people would just hide the whole game and try and get the hatch. A challenge shouldn't end up ruining the game for the other survivors.
-
I don't have much time to play some nights, so if I know I am only going to play one game, I will dodge if all 4 survivors drop in at the same time.
-
Christmas lights in place of chains on the demogorgan would be awesome!

I find it best when you body block the killer sadly. I right to block the hook. Then right before the killer hits me i release the cracker. I take a hit but the gets blinded and so do you.
It to a couple of tries to get it right. The problem is knowing which hook they go to, getting there before killer and then if the killer looks up last second.
I got it! Thanks for the tip, it worked just like you said it would! You rock!

I always do my best not to tunnel during matches.
My reward for that is usually eating a ds sandwich during endgame and watching them tbag through the gate.
Needless to say, I would to see some changes during endgame.

I don't think taking a poll is necessarily the best way to deal with it. Squeakiest wheels aren't necessarily correct. And I see far more ebony moris come into play than keys. It's not even close. I've never understood the complaining about keys but again. Squeaky wheels.
I personally notice more keys than mori's, but both of these numbers are skewed atm due to archive challenges.
Keys are also a little different because they don't even need to be brought into the game to affect it since they can be found in chests.
I must be lucky because I probably only go against a mori in about one out of every ten games.
-
I wonder if they will delay it so that it can be tied in with the next tome like they did with the blight event.
-
I love getting the "I am going to report you for fill in the blank messages 😊
-
I actually found a key in a chest playing against oni as he was killing the third survivor. I decide to go stealth mode and i follow him to the hatch. He closes it and runs right past me to head to a gate. I started running for the hatch and he must have looked back and saw me. Next thing you know I hear him stomping behind me and I make it to the hatch a split second before him. I got to see him clubbing the air as I jump into the hatch.

A lot of you may not know this, but there was a point in time where The Store didn't exist. Meaning the only thing survivors and killers could do to look good was prestige their character and go off the default costumes. Oh yeah, and the charity case.
In order to prestige, you have to get a character to level 50. What happens when you prestige as survivor? Well, you lose all your perks, items, ass-ons, and offerings BUT you get a bloody torso, pants, and head. Though, you get one piece of bloody cosmetic for each time you prestige.
What happens when you prestige as killer? Almost the same thing. You lose all your perks, add-ons, and offerings BUT get a bloody weapon, clothes, and head. Though, again, one piece of bloody cosmetic for each prestige.
Ever since The Curtain Call chapter there has been no real reason to prestige your character, since there are cooler cosmetics in the store.
For instance, my Feng is p3 and I love her "blue hair trapper face mask" head, so I use that instead of her bloody face. Thus I have no real way to show off that I had to grind for that p3.
How to make prestiging worthy again? Easy! Have optional blood being on cosmetics we bought from the store. Ya know what I mean? Let me use my Feng example if you're confused. Since my Feng is p3 and have bought that head, I could put blood on the cosmetic. Making the Trapper Surgical mask and her face bloody.
Great idea, but I think the only way that it would happen would be if it was something they could sell. They aren't going to spend a lot of labor on something that won't make any money (and I don't blame them).

Anything triggers people. I just ignored them or explained my reason why, some understood some still yelled. Like how Venoxxie said "They're not toxic, you're just playing the game how it's intended". You are bound to do the challenges slowly over time.
For me the Blind save was so hard. I can never do that. I got mine by a Fire Cracker though.
Any tips for using the firecracker? I can't get the flashlight save for the life of me and I am almost out of flashlights. I think I still have a few firecrackers I can try.

Every time I see a hidden offering by the killer in the load screen, I close the app, restart and move on to the next match. Bring a mori = dodge.
Grow a pair

Nothing wrong with mori's, just make them less common in the bloodwebs. I seem to get way more of the ebonies than the ivories.
-
Maybe after the slugged person gives up, there is still a "bleed out timer" so that the hatch doesn't open until that goes off.
I am not looking for a way to let the last person get an easy escape, I just want out at that point and I don't feel like crawling around waiting for the killer to find the last person.

It still wouldn't be fair for the killer regardless.
I'm speaking from the high rank killer perspective here, in which survivors are usually way better than killers and so they have to earn every victory.
I don't really care if people escape or not. I just think that it's cheap to add something that is punishable by the game's current standards. There are already counters to Slugging anyway: Unbreakable, No Mither, Flip Flop, Tenacity... it's not like survivors don't have workarounds for it. If you don't prepare for it, and it happens, you only have yourself to blame.
It isn't punishable if someone gives up on the hook, so why should it be if they are slugged?
-
I wonder how many people are killing themselves on first hook because they are trying the spine chill challenge....

Really now? I've had survivors suicide on their first hook because I hooked them before any gens are done.
I've had survivors deliberately run towards me because they found out I am playing Freddy.
I've had survivors in my own team when I am playing as Survivor willingly stop playing the game normally because they dislike what perks the killer is running.
In what way has the game been ruined then? The only reason to DC are three things: Internet Issues, Real Life Emergencies, and the game being taken hostage.
I am only speaking about your last point, game being taken hostage. I know that slugging the third person isn't completely taking the game hostage, but in more cases than not, you aren't going to be able to do anything other than bleed out and die. I would just like something to speed that process up because I just want to move on to the next game.
-
52, one challenge left from level 3 (stupid flashlight save) I think i should be able to get to 70 unless level 4's challenges get too crazy. Still haven't bought it yet, but it looks like it is already worth it imo.

Killers just trying to pip out here and having that option for any survivor (even if they played like hot garbage the entire match and did next to nothing) to get out of jail free is more cheap than trying to not depip or black pip when you played optimally
Any survivor on the hook has that option, that is all i am saying.
I don't care if the last person lives or dies, i don't care about a killers pip, i would just like to move on to the next game without crawling around forever.
Maybe it doesn't need to be an instant suicide, but something should be available to the slugged survivor to speed things up.
-
@Raven014 said:
No. Its cheap and denies the killer a deserved 4k. It's a free escape for the last person, and should not be encouraged. Why do you think people don't like DCers when its to the last person? It's the exact same thing.
Besides, most killers don't run Deerstalker, so you can still hide away from them so you have to force them to search for you.
Is it cheap? Yes, but I think slugging for a 4k is as well.
As far as a "deserved" 4k goes, that would be totally subjective. Many cases it would be, but there would definitely be cases where it wouldn't be. Maybe you had 2 potatoes that died before the last 2 were even hooked once, is the 4k still "deserved"?
Free escape for the last person? Definitely not. It does give the last survivor a much better chance, but EGC is heavily favored on the killers side (as it should be).
I play more killer than survivor, but I guess I don't care much between a 3k or 4k so I don't slug. Same goes with rank, I play for fun so I don't care about rank, I would rather play 4 games and get a 3k than have to slug for a 4k and only play 3 games.
-
I am all for an automatic struggle phase while on the hook. As far as slugging goes, maybe instead of an instant suicide maybe they could at least let us do something to speed up the bleed out timer. It is just so freaking slow!!!
-
It just seems like if it is ok on the hook then it should be ok on the ground.
-
I am dreading this one too. I have avoided the flashlight challenges as long I could, now they are the only two left. I have 3 of the 4 blinds completed, but I am definitely not looking forward to the actual save challenge. Any tips? I am thinking that I will run empathy to try and be in the area..

Maybe not place totems, but find one and light it.
This sounds more plausible, plus I like the idea of being able to wait and have ruin kick in later in the game.

I played as wraith with the cloaked speed add on and bitter murmur and rancor. Spent most of the match in chases eating pallets so they would be out of the way. As luck would have it I hooked one and then the final gen popped and bitter murmur showed me two survivors right by me. Downed them quick so I ended up sacrificing 3 during egc. Last survivor didn't want any part of it and left thru a gate.

Downloaded it on ps4 for my nephew during a free weekend preview and slowly got hooked. Playing all the time now, only games that have managed to temporarily pull me off have been RE2 and GOW.

How about we let him be out more than 5 days before wanting him nerfed. I am sure BHVR will be looking at stats with him and if he is overperforming then they will gut him and add to the already crowded class of meh killers.
-
I am pretty sure no mither would be horrible against oni, you would be leaving a constant blood orb trail.
-
On ps4 he is very clunky, not too hard to dodge his demon strike. You do want to heal quickly when playing against him, but he is far from OP imo.

I've noticed it both with hatch closes and full generator repairs. It's very strange and confusing, not to mention unnecessary. I'm hoping it's a bug, but if it's a new feature I hope they revert it because it adds nothing and just confuses players.
I agree, adds nothing and I hope they remove it too.
-
I just think that they need to adjust how many of the ebonies spawn in bloodwebs. I get way more of those than the green ones. Make them much less common and it wouldn't be so bad.

Well then they need to fix matchmaking. Having rank 15-20 getting in the same lobby as red ranks is silly.
The only way they could totally stop it is by not allowing low ranks to team up with high ranks which would be fine with me. I don't think it is a matchmaking problem every time, I think it is usually swf

I never had a problem with lobby dodging when it was active, it barely affected anything. So I don't care either way myself.
What I do care about is how long it takes to find a game to begin with, you did this because of lobby dodging but nothing about these abysmal queue times? How does that make sense.
Lobby dodging directly affects queue times, people on this forum are saying that they dodge when they see low ranks so naturally they are removing that feature.

Cant match with even tanked survivors if there's few killers to begin with. The ouny of people who play killer especially on console is way smaller. Even more so at red rank because once you get to red rank you get super sweat survivors, that's why you see WAYYYY more red ranks survivors than killers. That and playing survivor is significantly easier overall and more easily rewarded work towards pipping
That is what I see on ps4, I play both sides and the survivors are almost always better ranks than the killer. It is a lot easier to pip as a survivor, so I am guessing that there are way too many red rank survivors than killers.

Queue times are not going to be shorter if people stop playing survivor due to bad matchmaking combined with the lack of information about the rank of other survivors. Personally I've had one single survivor game today as you can read above and it's going to be the last survivor game for a while until they fix the matchmaking OR bring lobby-ranks back.
That kind of stuff makes me play killer only. What's the point of ranking up if you end up getting matched with baby ranks?
How do you know if it is a matchmaking issue and not swf? If two rank 18's teams up with a 5, then they are treated as a 5. I know matchmaking is far from perfect, but it could be working right in these cases.
-
They are not going to bring anything back that gives people a reason to dodge. I am not saying that there aren't other reasons people will dodge, but this is something they can take care of easily.
@lindechene is totally right, shorter queue times are more important for the games health than picking/choosing teammates.
-
I have heard that you need to use both sticks to try and flick on console, it still didn't look anywhere near as good as pc, but they probably got a good 90 in. Haven't tried it myself yet...
-
Unfortunately, clunky is the best way to describe him on ps4.
-
Survivors complaining about haddonfield? That's a first.
-
Used it for the challenge recently, felt kind of dirty.... Other than that I only use it if it is the best perk available (which only happens if I just prestiged someone)

People think players communicating and relaying information to each other makes that game really hard and frustration.
In my opinion, any 4 experienced players, in swf or not, comms or not, is frustrating regardless.
Information doesn't make a swf good. Being good at the game makes you good.
True, communication and relaying info will not make a team good if they aren't good players to begin with, but it does elevate their gameplay. So if 4 bad players join up then they are less bad, 4 good players join and they are now great, 4 great player join up and it's game over.
-
Even if the swf team isn't highly coordinated, they get simple advantages like "killer is chasing me, do gens", or if you are playing as trapper or hag you might as well forget about setting a trap in the tall grass next to a hooked survivor, they will just tell them where it is. Other easy info is totem counter and hatch location.

Well it's their fault for making it possible for brand new players to be able to que up with red ranks. It's like they are trying to kill the game. If I was solo surviving and kept getting red rank killers when I first started I would prolly quit the game.
It's not the matchmaking in those cases, it is a swf group. The game can't stop a rank 20 from teaming up with a rank 1.

How am i and the others supposed to survive with 1 or 2 dead weights because lets say the killers smart and goes after the weakest links and we lose both the 20s with 3 gens left thats me and another rank 7 vs a high level killer. Were #########. And ill just dodge any swf now and any low level survivor like others have said what they gonna do completely black out the other survivors?
I am not arguing for or against it, I don't care. I am just trying to tell you that this is why they are not bringing it back.

You wanna have a bronze player on your team when your a master/diamond or whatever in other games? I know i wouldnt same thing applies here.
I get it and I totally understand your point. The problem is that your point is the exact reason why they will not bring it back. They don't want lobby dodging. So in the same post that you are asking them to bring it back, you are giving them ammunition not to do that.
