You have to play a total of 12 hours in a match without disconnecting for it to reset to zero. As for getting 6 hours if you have been rage quitting you deserve the longer ban.

Lol I don’t rage quit I quit a couple times like 3 days ago from a streak of just freddys and legions got sick of seeing them so I’ll admit my bad but I haven’t DC’d since and I was doing just fine and on a Gen when all of a sudden DBD freezes I assumed it was the killer who DC’d cause I checked my connection and it was fine and then it hits me with “No network connection” but let’s me straight back in the game lol.

Very next game, I had two people just suicide on hook due to their complete and utter stupidity within the first 2 minutes of the game. Literally all I did was catch one guy, hook him in the basement, kick a gen which triggered Trail of Torment, literally right after I kicked the gen I got the notification that the basement hook was rescued... got back still silent to find the idiots still in the basement. Downed them both, hooked them both, walked away to get two free kills as they both suicided.

FFS... you ######### up try to come back from, don't abandon your other teammates. Even I felt so bad about the last two I let them farm a bit and go... ME, of all people.

THIS IS WHY WE HAVE DC PENALTIES... is because of weak-ass little punks who make a habit of disconnecting and suiciding on a regular basis. I wish you little punks would just quit already and be done with it.

Lol I never quit on a regular basis esp rage quit. Get over yourself

  • @FrenziedRoach said:

disconnecting one time doesn't incur a 6 hour penalty, and the penalties are counted on a month to month basis that go up over time from each time you do it.

What am I getting at? This wasn't your only DC this month - therefore you are not deserving of sympathy

    Get rekt you ragequitting coward.

I don’t rage quit lol and I already said three days prior I did have a 30 minute ban but I haven’t been playing or DCing since then. It only takes 3 DCs to reach 30 mins

  • @Kenpachi_Zaraki said:

Just because you have ######### connection doesn't mean that it doesn't ruin other people's game when you dc. Don't dc on purpose, EVER, and when/if your connection cuts out again, it'll only be a 5 minute ban.

I don’t have bad connection tho that’s what I’ve BEEN saying. I’ve had this happen several times I’ll be booted from the game and have perfectly fine connection. Doesn’t happen on anything else other than DBD

Are you on ps4, I've had that pop up a bit already and is annoying lol.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2091854#Comment_2091854

And you may not have noticed a lack of DC's but that doesnt mean its not doing anything. And it's not there to make dc's magically disappear, it's there to discourage dc's. Im positive that dc's went down a huge amount since its been in the game.

Oh dont get me wrong, I completely understand your annoyance with this. Being banned for 6 hours is pretty stupid when you haven't dc'd in days lol.

No I’m on Xbox actually but I’m west coast US if that helps anything. Every other game is a-okay and I don’t get disconnected or even internet spikes only DBD will boot me out at random

My point still stands, it sucks it didn't depreciate after nearly a week, but you would've had a much shorter wait if you hadn't choosen to DC. My games have disconnected but I still only get 5 min bans since I've never purposefully DC'd

No I get that but 6 hours for what most likely was a server disconnect?

  • @SilentPill said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2091867#Comment_2091867

“I stopped DCing once I got the 30 min penalty” implies you were ragequitting a ton and then got more DC penalties from your “accidental” disconnects after.

DC penalty is for rage quitters, I hated when it was off as both killer and survivor. Survivor it was auto lose when your team DCs cause they just can’t play against spirit or something. Killer it was waste addons to have 3-4 man SWFs DC at 5 gens if they didn’t like the killer you were playing. Leave it on for sure

Actually a 30 minute is only three times and I didn’t rage quit lol the first was just cause I was being slugged with my friend and I wanted to give her a chance at hatch. Other two times were Freddy with thana. Once it hit 30 I was like “Alright I’ll suck it up.” Keep in mind those are the first times I’ve DC’d in MONTHS. 6 hours is an extremely long time for 4 DC’s esp if one is accidental.

  • @CornHub said:

See if you never DC'd on purpose those times you would have had a shorter DC penalty. No one's fault but your own.

Yeah but 6 hours over 3 DCs in a one week span? I’d get it if it was 1-2 hours maybe even 3 but 6? Over an accidental disconnect on a match we were winning on? And it’s not like my connection is trash cause whenever I check it everything is perfectly fine and it never does this on any other game.

  • @yandere777 said:

DC penalties are there for a reason, and if you're upset over the 6 hour ban then with no disrespect all I can say is deal with it. They cant keep the grace period of the dc penalty system light because people will try to figure out how the bans stack up. All I can say is you wouldn't be in this situation if you never dc'd

Also sorry I almost forgot to answer the actual question lol. DC penalties are there to penalize any and all forms of DC's. If someone's internet died or something mid game they wont notice anything because by the time they load the game up the 5 min timer will be done or almost done. It starts off real light but gets really heavy and punishing the more you dc.

If someone has trash wifi and constantly gets dc'd out they are ruining the game for others so it makes sense there too to give harsher punishment.

While your situation is pretty unlucky you wouldn't be with a 6 hour ban if you didnt dc multiple times. Now you know for the future though

Oh also forgot to mention! It says “no internet connection.” But when I check my internet connection everything says it’s fine.

I mean yeah but it’s been three Damn days. Plus it’s not like it’s ever stopped anyone I get people who DC almost every other game esp if I’m playing killer. I rarely ever do it anymore and I’d get it if it was people who DC constantly get stricter penalties but i don’t see how having everyone on an even field actually PREVENTS DCs

  • Normally I don’t complain on DC penalties but come on this is just ridiculous

  • @MadLordJack said:

All the survivors have to do is run a maze tile tight and suddenly you're a 4.4 m1 killer. That alone makes him the worst killer in the game by an enormous margin.

Tbf this fate is shared by huntress as well. The only difference is she can end them quicker when they leave the loops.

The only useful aspect of his set up is Starstruck.

    He's got no map pressure.

He's as slow as a snail walking home with it's shopping.

His contant giggling and humming work against him.

This is one floater of a killer. Needs flushing.

He has a couple good pressure points as in he can pressure multiple survivors out of the area at once which of course is great but the problem there is he isn’t effective enough to capitalize on this effect.

So, how do you play him then? Only difference I've seen pointed out is that he can hit over low-walled loops better than Death-slinger and Huntress, which in and of itself is diminished by him requiring 8x as many hits.

I'm saying he is the same thing, just more drawn out with more chance for error (hence why he has better ammo reserves). (And this being drawn out hurts him in loops where there are sharp angles in which he can't get more than one or two knives out)

Well for starters you don’t just try and knife everytime someone’s going to a vault or pallet you sometimes try to fake it which you can’t do with huntress btw. He plays more like a Pyramid Head huntress duo than he does a flat out death slinger or flat out huntress. You keep mentioning “8 hits!” But ignore his quick fire rate and how he can get those hits in about 3-4 seconds if he lands his blades properly.

To be quite honest, he is Huntress and Deathslinger. You approach loops basically the same way: Wait for them not to be near a wall/doorway and in the open or in a chokepoint, or wait for them to be anim-locked.

The only time he really felt unique was once I started using Trick Blades and was able to bounce it off the terrain from different angles.

That’s where you’re getting it wrong, playing trickster exactly like huntress and death slinger won’t work

  • @Amatter0314 said:

    The reason All-Kill is hated?

1: boring uninspired perks on both sides

2: no new map to spice things up

3: The killer is terrible. There are very small situations where he is good. And every other situation he would be decent at all he is outclassed in every possible way by already exciting killers

    1. Tbf we got all good perks and that is just your opinion at the end of the day on if they’re boring but also when the devs tried to add cool unique perks people did massively complain they either didn’t make sense, were to complicated, or were too weak.
    2. a new map would’ve been great but devs did state we wouldn’t get new maps til all old ones were done with revamps sadly
    3. I just don’t think this is true to the extent everyone thinks it is

Dude everything about this chapter other than Trickster's power is great, but you can't deny that this killer is weak af. He has lots of potential but he's just not strong at the moment. Just because he has 1 other great thing about him doesn't automatically make him a good killer, and just because you're the only person who constantly gets good games with him doesn't make him good to everyone else. His power is WAY too inconsistent. The best you could do with him rn is run Monitor on him due to his 24m terror radius or run a slug or basement build, yet he doesn't even perform those two that well. Smart survivors will just dodge his knives from a long range as well.

Also, there are so many times where my Main Event charges up without me being able to use it. I'll try running Infectious on him sometime but it's still annoying how I have to waste it or get 0 use out of it.

Well I’ve agreed main event is completely terribly in need of serious buffs such as a quicker start time, being able to pocket it, no stun or power restriction afterwards etc etc

You would lose that bet. People hate this chapter because trickster sucks. Everything that he does, huntress and deathslinger can do better. What huntress does with 1 hit, trickster has to do with 8 hits, which makes me ask "Why would I purchase and play this character when I could play huntress or deathslinger and be much more lethal?"

Lets go over some of his issues:

Laceration decay. For whatever unknown reason the laceration meter goes down if you don't manage to hit the survivor enough times. Nobody knows why this is a thing, and nobody wants this to be a thing, but it is a thing, and it makes no sense. If you're going to allow laceration to go away at least make the survivors have to take out the blades themselves.

Main event sucks the way it's currently designed. It's a nice idea but the execution is horrible. When your main event fully charges, and you have the option to start main event, the power bar is constantly going down, so you have a limited amount of time to activate it. Which means that most of the time, you end up using main event and it does almost nothing. Or you don't use it and the bar goes all the way down and you have to start charging it all over again. It's like if they gave Oni a limited amount of time to activate blood fury or else he'd lose all his blood and the ability to use his power. So rarely do you actually get a chance to use main event at a time where it would be advantageous to do so.

Honestly the only time it feels worthwhile to use his power is when the survivor is trapped, or at any loop with short walls. Any tall wall, like on coldwind or red forest it's near impossible to down someone with his power, and it feels more worth it just to chase normally. So yeah, overall I'd say I dislike trickster because his power is garbage. It has nothing to do with the fact that he's a kpop idol. You put this power on a killer with any nationality and it would still be garbage and hated all the same.

(Forgot to add I do understand the idea behind the meter but I do agree it could use a fix and be less punishing)

Okay so my continuation. You have to focus on things he can do that huntress and death slinger can’t. For example reloading speed, he doesn’t need to reload as much as the other two and an amazing trickster who can hit his knives is gonna be saving a LOT more time than huntress or death slinger. Be more accurate at a distance; he can deal more damage further away and quicker than huntress or death slinger while it may not be a whole health state it’ll help once chase is actually initiated and does create some what of a panicked state in a lot of survivors from my experience. His projectiles are much harder to dodge especially if you understand what you’re doing with them. For example if you’re a survivor and going against huntress you can duck at a short loop and her hatchet will break or fly over you and death slingers will most likely just hit the wall not you but trickster can make better use of it by hitting the top of your head or your back so basically he nullifies short loops and you can’t just run in circles like a huntress or try and make unpredictable moves since his knives cover the area in front of him not just a straight narrow area. He can pull his knives out quicker as well which may not seem like an amazing thing since he does require multiple to injure someone but at loops huntress or death slinger might struggle at The Trickster can counter simply by landing one knife every few seconds. His hit boxes are also much smaller than huntresses and even death slingers so there’s that as well.

And I do agree with a lot of what you said mostly about main event. But I just know that death slinger, huntress, and trickster all are played differently and you shouldn’t play them like each other. Remember when death slinger came out and everyone said the same things about him til they realized not to play him like huntress? It’s the same things for trickster. He does need changes he’s not perfect but he’s decent enough. (I’ll go over more in a bit in a match)

I like his aesthetic, but he's objectively a terrible killer to play. His slowdown is ridiculous on his knife throwing, and by the time you get to the survivor, you might as well just M1 them. His Main Event, half the time I saw the yellow and then didn't do anything with it, because what's there to do when you've already downed the survivor?

He's just objectively a terrible killer, compared to all other killers in this game.

    Otherwise, he's great!

I agree they definitely need to lessen his slowdown. IMO reducing recoil slightly (because sometimes it can help to adjust aim slightly higher if you use it properly), reducing spread, reducing slowdown on knives, taking away the main event stun, and allowing us to save main event (even if they have to nerf it a bit) would greatly increase his viability however I still think he can perform fairly well on his own.

  • @Lord_Tony said:

being unable to save his main event SUCKS

Yeah his main event is Niche. I’ve gotten a couple good uses out of it (like multiple people bomb rushing the hook save at once) but it definitely should be buffed more than just adding a way to cancel it

  • It’s not that I own with him it’s just I took time to understand he isn’t huntress or death slinger.

  • @Chilli_man2400 said:

not true at all I have gave Trickster so many chances he has so many problems that make him ######### why would I play him when I can just play deathslinger and huntress. He sucks even harder than pre rework Freddy and PTB ghostface.

Because they have different scenarios to use them in. He’s great when it comes to indoor maps and small loops since it’s extremely difficult for survivors to dodge the knives and at loops where death slinger nor huntress’s projectiles can fit over his can. You don’t just go around throwing knives every chance you get like everyone I’ve seen does.
