@kisfenkin thanks for the encouragement!

who did?
A fellow survivor did it. Won't say his name. His steam was full of comments on him being a griefer.

This really takes me back. Do not let this get to you! Here’s a few tips that got me through:
- Ignore pips, play for fun. This game will never be fair.
- Treat SWF’s as peak challenges, not standard games.
- Don’t feed the trolls in post game chat!!
- Play around with different perks and have your own goals for the game.
Use all the perks you want and don’t buy into the made up rules of some survivors. About the hag:
- Don’t engage in long chases with her unless you can force the survivor to a trapped area. She is slow!
- Her nimble size makes Her hard to see in loops with higher obstacles. Mind games possible!
- Don’t trap IN pallets unless you do the body-block build. You need time to teleport and strike the survivor before they can put the pallet down.
- Play survivor!
Good luck and spread love! <3
-
I have this issue too. Can’t see well at all. The problem is your monitor/TV sadly.
-
There should definitely be an option for the killer to leave the game when the survivors have opened the gates. When dedicated servers gets implemented, there should be no reason not to add this to the game.
I’ve experienced survivors trying to force a DC out of me many times. There was even a bug before where the survivor could glitch themselves outside of the map and just stand there indefinitely out of harms way (don’t know if this is fixed or not)
Feels really bad being forced to dc.
-
I think it's working again, guys!
-
Scheduled maintenance? Thanks for the reply.
-
@MandyTalk Had a person telling me to commit suicide in the chat. What would you categorise that as? Would that (hypothetically) lead to a soft ban as well?
-
And here we go again: another freeze that forced me to hard reboot my PC. I've played for 10 minutes today.
-
I just encountered my first double pallet in a jungle gym - ever. Damn what a pain in the bum.
-
-
@drunky26 It is absolutely ridicolous. When playing SWF we have a standing joke about the high number of checkpoints we need to pass before we know if we get to play or not. Not even exaggerating when I say that 80% of the time someone gets kicked out of the lobby/load screen/game.
-
I very much agree. I took a hiatus for a couple of weeks. Played one or two games today and the survivors just kited me around. It's a very bad feeling indeed. I'm thinking about quitting the game altogether now - I honestly don't understand my previous gratification in playing this game.

@Nikkiwhat So the new version is active again?
-
I think it could be the new "pool"-system that is messing things up. I'm waiting for a "game", then I'm waiting again within the lobby. It's not concealing SWF either, as they drop in irregurarly as before. I honestly don't get the point.
-
7... This has never been an issue before.
-
One dude decided to prolong his visit by camping the hatch, unwilling to leave before i was there to witness it. After a couple of minutes of non-engage from my side, he came to lure me into the cellar. Needless to say, his hatch escape became a hatch interrupt.
-
@IamFran Not if it's discordance
-
@McCree Yeah, a few times is okay. But when it goes on for 20 seconds or more, it super frustrating.
-
@ChesterTheMolester said:
Not the biggest issue in the world but there should be a cooldown on notifications of the same source, would also make using Discordence less annoying.
Also the suggestion that survivors should get it as well is horrible, last thing i need as survivor is a griefing ######### doing a Michael Bay impression while im listening for stealth Killers.
@ChesterTheMolester I agree it's not the biggest issue in this game. But when it happens it can definitely ruin the game. Sound is such a key aspect of DBD.
-
@Mister_xD Lol don't be rude now 😂
-
What is the point of this thread? Comical?

@Chaotic_Riddle said:
@kamisen I see what you’re saying. I would suggest bringing perks like Mad Grit, Agitation, or Iron Grasp if it’s a big issue. Personally, Agitation is nice as you can quickly get to the nearest hook without having to deal with Survivors attempting to bodyblock from any direction with the bonus speed. :D
@Chaotic_Riddle It's not a big deal at all, but thanks for the tips though ☺️
It just felt exploity, thats all.

@kamisen If you are the killer, you can't "avoid" getting bodyblocked. You have to hit the survivor so that he/she gets injured and leaves the blocking position.
Off-topic: You have to @ people in your post so that they get a notification that you replied to them. ☺️
@NoShinyPony No, I get that. I didn't mean avoiding bodyblocking altogether. I meant avoiding the bodyblocking behind my back.
Also, thanks for the tip, I thought the qouting was enough to notify theperson mentioned :)
-
@Chaotic_Riddle said:
@kamisen Yeah, I believe so. All the Killer needs to do is simply turn around it they can’t hook someone to smack whoever is behind em.
I agree that it's no biggy. But it wastes precious time if you have to look for a p3 claudette in a 360 circle, then hitting, then wiping your weapon and THEN hooking. When it happens to me (it's not that often, I'll admit) I tend to think it's the game being buggy with object hitboxes. But awareness is key I guess!
-
@NoShinyPony said:
In order to be able to hook a surv, the killer has to stand on a certain position. If this position is blocked, the killer can't hook. It doesn't matter from which direction the surv blocks that position. Blocked is blocked.
Ok, so I can essentially avoid this by not going too close to the hook when hooking?
Edit: spelling
-
But I mean blocking the command to hook someone, but from behind.

Oh ok. So totems in the open/next to gens is still going to be a thing then... :(

@MandyTalk said:
Yes bans are handed out, if reports are made and the evidence is supplied.You might not notice that a person has got banned because temporary bans do not show on players profiles but I can assure you the team of ACM's works very hard dealing with the reports and banning players. You even see posts here cropping up from someone asking why they got banned.
This is very nice to hear!

@Fizz said:
Don't hide their names, they don't deserve the curtsy of that.As already mentioned, I have to. Mentioning their names could get me banned - ironically. I think this clash is about the publicity of the forum versus the "privacy" of in-game. Its probably different legal spaces. It doesn't bother me though as I don't want to shame anyone. I want to address what I consider to be a real problem in this community.

To clarify a few things:
1) You do not need to create a support ticket for chat abuse. Reporting the player in-game will save the chat log and all the info we need. Support tickets are only for adding additional information to your in-game report, like if you have a video of someone abusing an exploit or griefing. 2) The reason why we ask for the Steam 64 ID (for PC reports) is to make sure we are able to deal with your report. Steam allows you to have a vanity URL which can be changed at any time. If you give us a vanity URL and they change their URL between when you reported them and when we review the report, we're going to have to contact you and ask you to find the profile for us. It's way easier to get the right ID in the first place. As SenzuDuck mentioned, it's pretty quick and easy to find.
As long as you reported that in-game, you're all good. That's all you need.
Thank you for your reply!
1) It's great that I don't need a support ticket for chat abuse (will update post on this). Will you also give me some kind of feedback on my report if I don't?
2) I definitely understand why you need the entire ID - What I don't understand is why this information is not exported from within the game. Or solved by giving me a report-ID to use to refer to. My point is that the process is unnecessarily complicated.
We would love to have some feedback for in-game reports (something that tells you, "Hey, one of the people you reported got punished, thank you for reporting them!") but bigger issues take priority over small QOL changes like that. Hopefully one day that will be possible.
The IDs are actually saved within the in-game report, the reason why we request them when adding information to a report is so we can find the in-game report that you're trying to add information to. That allows us to search for any reports made by you against a particular person and review the report with the new information provided and the other details that are saved through the in-game report.
Short version, it's so we can find the report you're trying to add information to.
Thanks for your reply!
I understand that the dev prioritizes other things - they have to. And I understand that the fanbase is demanding. However, could you agree that there is a problem with toxicity amongst players? Maybe consider giving the ticket system a little boost in the priorities list? I have no idea what happens with the players I have reported, and it does not sit well with me that someone can call me a c***n***** and possibly get away with it.
I also fully understand the mechanics behind the ticket system - I've worked with Zendesk previously and understand there can be compatibility issues. If I understand you correctly, you cross-reference the information provided by the manually created ticket with the one created in-game. You are essentially making me do redundant work.
Here's a suggestion: Display the in-game report ID so that I can make a reference to that instead. This would not be a complex thing to do code-wise. You could put it in the next patch.
***Edited a bad word****

@kamisen Like you have evidence of some real toxic players saying some real nasty things, but as sad as it is nothing is going to happen to them. I'm actually fine with ######### talking most of the time, but I never take it this far. I would just like to see some people receive a tempoary ban just to put some fear into the community. People in this community just take it way to far some times, going as far as to comment on my steam profile. I enjoy the salt as much as the next guy, but this I the most toxic community i've ever been in.Yeah. This is really bad. These types of comments would be a criminal offense in many countries. Salt is one thing, we all feel bad after a ######### game, but this is harassment. I'm gonna keep doing my thing though. Screencacp --> Report --> Rinse and repeat.
-
That's me. Here's the chat you're referring to, and two other chats from other games. I only screencap the worst ones. Seems camping when gates are open envokes rage amongst players (even though the rest of the game was camp-less).

-
One more. I'm blue as always.

It's not even just the profanity, it's the namecalling and other types of harassment that go on post game. It's just bonkers. I don't know why it is so bad in this game (versus others I play).While I really do enjoy this game, eventually, the harassment and negative player base takes its toll and removes the fun. When that happens, I play (and spend money on) other games.
Oh yes. I totally understand what you mean. So far, for me, the fun outwheighs the bad.
One hypothesis regarding the toxic player base is that the community seem to deem the behaviour as part of the game. I've seen several threads where OP is deemed "salty" and needs to "toughen up" when trying to bring the subject to the table. Needless to say, OP is rarely the problem.
-
This happened today.

Do in-game temporary bans really show up on steam? Your pictures really don't prove anything. It's just two banned person could be any game and any reason for it. Another thing I would like to know is, if we do not get any feedback on in game reports, how can you be so sure that they work properly?SenzuDuck said:

I would just quit.That kind of language IS visible by developers and there is no reason for it.
It's 2019. Any online game developer that allows that garbage is living in 2001.
What? They can't even create a chat filter that turns that word into something else?.gimme a break..LITERALLY EVERY OTHER GAME DOES IT....And they do it on their forums! But they can't seem to crack the code that does it in game....lo!
I don't have time or energy for this garbage and neither should any player with half a brain.
Just quit. Too many other good online games out there that don't allow this Neanderthal garbage.
I fully agree that a profanity filter is past due. But I'm not gonna abandon this little gem of a game anyways. I'm hoping that the player base will grow with time. :-)

Ok... this'll be easy.
Yes, you do have to manually type it, however save it in a file for later user
Very readily available information.
Click their profilecopy and paste their link
copy and paste their link
Use it on this website - https://steamid.io/
You want the Steam ID64 Number
3. Same as above
4. While this may be true, for end game chat violations you don't need to do any of the above, making a report will send the chat log to the Moderation Team.trust me when I say this - reporting works.
Thanks for your reply. The link that was supposed to retrieve the Steam ID did not find the profiles for me. I had to enable URLs in Steam and retrieve the IDs from the URL-addresses. I feel the ticket system is messy nonetheless, as the information from in-game easily could be exported to the ticket system. I shouldn't need to store my DBD-ID in a document on my computer to save time.
It's great that I don't need a picture when reporting in-game chat offenses and that reporting works - makes me happy. Will I get feedback on the report either way?

Just fyi.
Some guy speedhacked twice against me in 2017, so I recoreded and send the footage to the support.I added him and he just didnt get banned.
Since that case I never bothered with recording again
Wow... I thought they had zero tolerance for hacking the game. Maybe I'm too naive :-)
