Now tell me why Killer should'nt be allowed to tunnel, I want a reason that dosen't include '' it no fun for me'' cause guess what, Being gen rushed is no fun either, but you know what? bot tunel and gen rush are just both side doing their objectives in the most optimal way possible, except survivors, for some reasons' get op perk to counter tunnel. As for camping, it may sound stupid, but since the killer for 1, lose points when face camping and 2, lose point cause he don't chase or hit people enought, they often de-pip even too they do a 4k. KILLER ACCUTUALY LOSE when they camp you, thanks to the weird Ranking system (That is bad for other reasons, but still the way dev calculate win or lose)

interesting that you bring up gen rushing. you realise that the person that just got unhooked is likely to heal and most of the time the person that got them off the hook will heal them. thats 2 people that aren't on gens. you have a chance to also get someone else off a gen while they are healing which leaves only 1 person doing gens, however you choose to tunnel which means you now have 3 people doing gens instead of 1. so saying that gen rushing is no fun......well you aren't really playing to stop it. thats the way i see it anyway. you don't like gen rushing but you are letting them do it.

killers can try different ways of playing, different perks etc...to try and stop gen rushing. what can survivors do to stop tunnelling, nothing. yes there is BT and DS, however, when a killer is fixated on tunnelling or camping then they will still do it and survivors can't do anything about it. killers have a choice, survivors don't.

  • i see a lot of people use spirit fury on her so they just eat the pallets. depending on where the pallet is and your surroundings eg are there strong loops close by, with the pallet down does that make it a strong loop etc.. then that will determine weather i break pallets mid chase.

phasing definitely helps mid chase because it confuses people as to where you are and you can usually hear survivors pretty well if they are running or injured, even if they aren't running, you can usually hear them. you just have to pay attention while phasing. (unless they have iron will but i believe stridor will counter that?)

It is not just you. It is almost every single match.

I played 4 matches today. The first match the killer tunneled my teammate to death. Everyone else escaped. Everyone got ######### points. That poor person depipped. They hadn't done anything to the killer (not a teabag, not a flashlight, not even a particularly long chase). The killers excuse, "I'm bad at Trapper". :| The second was an Insideous Bubba and thanks to DBD's cheeky sense of humor when it comes to RNG - all 4 survivors spawned in next to the Killer...next to the basement. He downed my teammate and Insideous camped her to death in the basement. He got 16k...yet somehow was a Rank 1 Killer. :| The third match was a new-to-Legion Killer who lost...in post-game chat everyone GG'd except one ######### survivor who had to type "EZ!". They were not good themselve, and got told off. Last match was a Huntress who proxy'd the hooks to down the off-hooker. Which, by comparison to matches 1 and 2 is not that bad, but by this time I was over it. I never play more than 3 or 4 matches of DBD in a row anymore. It just gets old so fast now.

insidious bubba is on the rise. i had 2 in the space of a couple of hours the other day. one game, at the very start, the killer downed and hooked a survivor in basement then stood in the corner. i had kindred so knew exactly what he was doing. one of the other survivors ended up going down and also got hooked. i refused to go and try to get them because it would have just ended in a blood bath. i hate leaving survivors on hook and i felt so bad for doing it but there was literally nothing i could do and because there was only 2 of us on gens with pretty much no gens done, we ended up all dying anyway. its bs. it sucks for everyone especially for the person getting camped. whats the point of the killer even playing the game if they are going to do that.

  • There’s been a lot more campers and tunnellers recently.

Funny thing is I see people on here complaining about survivors using ds and bt all the time and how op they are but this is the exact reason why those perks are being used so much. Killers complaining about perks that are being used because of they way they play. Ironic really.

I know not all killers tunnel or camp but there is so many Others that Survivors have to bring something in to protect themselves.

You should thank devs for nerfing ruin without givin' a damn F about the community opinion about that :D

i agree that they shouldn't have touched ruin, it's one of the biggest mistakes they've made in my opinion but i find it amusing that people are using the nerf as an excuse for bringing in mori's. i know lots of people who don't use ruin and are still able to have a 4k game. before ruin was nerfed, there were lots of people that didn't use it and still had good games.

There is no way you get morid 60% of the time. I am a rank 1 survivor and I haven't seen a mori in weeks. Killers never run them because they depip or black pip and most killers like me have an honour code where we just don't run them.

Mori's are definitely on the rise. I'm a red rank surivor and i kid you not, the other day i had one every second game that i got in. i see a few mori's every single day.

switch to killer and the amount of mori's that i've been getting in my bloodweb is ridiculous. ebony's included.

i don't know what platform you play on but there have been a lot on ps4 recently

It definitely will end up turning off a lot of new players. I’m solo survivor but I’ve still had A LOT of games lately where the whole team was red and the killer was 15 or worse... ugh, I always tell them at the end sorry for matchmaking you did good for what you have. But does that help?

BHVR had said they open matchmaking because new players would rather play anyone then wait for a good matchup... are you sure?!? Maybe they would be okay agajnst 15s or even a couple 12s but anyone 10 and below is too far above them. And against red rank loopers forget it, I’ve seen killers go the whole game with no hooks, maybe 1-2 hits the entire game is that fun?

i do the same, i message the killers if i can.

so many new killers just give up mid match and i don't blame them. i had one trapper just give up and he stood in one spot, placing a trap down then picking it up continuously until all gens were done. it really sucks...feels bad, it's not fun for them. it's also not fun being on the other side either because its not challenging and if you don't see the killer the whole game the game just goes so fast.

does it help messaging after? if they are having game after game of really bad matchmaking then probably not. especially when you have the people that don't care and will message something really mean to the killer or survivor anyway.

there needs to be more balance

They talked about the “rainbow ranks” matchmaking in their latest livestream, and the examples people are posting aren’t an error or a bug, they’re a result of deliberate dev choices.

The reason for stuff like this is incomplete lobbies - they said that when someone quits a lobby for whatever reason, the acceptable range of ranks that are allowed to then join the lobby are massively increased in order to get the game going more quickly. So if you have a team of four red ranks put against a red rank killer, if that killer then leaves the lobby, the next killer thrown in could be red rank, or they could be purple, or green, or yellow. Or if a red rank survivor leaves a red rank lobby, they could be immediately replaced by a solo green rank.

If you want to hear it explained by Behaviour themselves, you can go to 01:04:00 in the latest livestream and that’s about when they start talking about matchmaking.

    thanks for the info.

i get the way this works but getting a rank 20 killer with red rank survivors seems a little extreme even for their system. matchmaking has been broken for months and people have complained about it for months, its actually getting worse not better, yet the devs just keep saying that a new system is on its way and people just have to deal with it. they say they have been testing it but, well, its just not working. its discouraging people especially new players more than anything.

I've played DBD on PS4 for about 2 years, I think, and I downloaded mobile, because why not. But man...the killers on DBD Mobile are some of the most pathetic babies I've ever met. The number of camping killers far out number those on PS4, and I've gotten to Rank 6 Survivor on Mobile (though I really don't know how much rank means on mobile especially). The killers on mobile get so butt hurt when you run them around.

Two games ago I ran a Spirit for 3 gens, and while she didn't face camp, she did hurry back over to knock me once I did get unhooked.

Then the last game was just so ridiculous. The Hillbilly was having trouble catching me, insert multiple pallet stuns and getting away unscathed. Then he finally caught up to me because I mucked up, and then he proceeded to camp me and continuously hit me until I finally 'bled out' on first hook.

I'm not saying every version needs this, but mobile needs a hook pause if the killer is X meters away because holy crap, the camp is strong in these killers.

i agree. i've managed to get to red ranks but i couldn't get over how many camping killers there were on mobile but i just assumed it was because playing killer is hard (in my opinion because i'm not use to it) and people can't be bothered to take the time to learn how to play killer, learn the mechanics etc... they just want easy kills.

i have also found that the survivors on mobile aren't much better. the amount of times that the rest of my team will just leave me on hook (even when the killer isn't camping)...a lot of surivors just don't work as a team on mobile. don't get me wrong, there are some survivors and killers that are good on mobile and won't camp/tunnel or survivors helping the team etc.. but there are heaps that aren't.

  • There’s a lot of camping bubbas around at the moment. I’ve been running kindred which helps.

Had a game earlier where someone got hooked in basement and surprise surprise the insidious bubba was just camping out in the corner. There was no way I was going down to get them or we’d both be dead but one of the other survivors had no idea and went for the save and ended up on a hook right next to them.

Why am I a killer level 9 going against 3 red rank survivors who were all level one and then one purple rank survivor who was level 5, Of course after they escaped 2 of them sent me messages which I just didn’t open because it’s not worth my time. This obviously tells me they were survive with friends, they weren’t be toxic but they sure were better at looping than I was.

If there’s no one with the same rank as you, you’re meant to be matched with others either 6 ranks higher or lower than you so the situation you are in isn’t too bad. Yes there is a matchmaking problem but in you’re example, It’s only a couple of ranks off who you should be matched with.

There has to be a little slack or you could be waiting a lot longer for a game which is what I’m sure people would complain about more. also with a lot of people playing SWF, you’re bound to get someone that is out of your ranking range.

It could be worse....I’m red rank and had a rank 20 killer, that’s an issue. I even get rank 13’s, 16’s etc..

So i brought my misses DBD, she hasnt really seen anything on it and shes never played a multiplayer game either so shes obviously gonna struggle no matter the game let alone when there is alot to take in either side she plays. but the fact i felt like i had to tell her to change her setting so people cant send hateful messages is saddening... like i never really thought about it when it happens to me but for her as a new player having no idea versing ranks she shouldnt be and the possibility of them taking the piss and being horrible just because shes new. like i dunno seems ######### thatd be an outcome... maybe try not being so harsh on people who arent as good or are new? just a thought.

    What does she play on?

I’m on PS4 and I allow messages because sometimes you don’t always get ######### messages and I’ve met some awesome people through dbd. If I get ######### messages, I just don’t reply at all, I block them then remove myself from the conversation.

you can’t take those messages personally. Some people just don’t have anything better to do and think it’s ok to bully other people because it’s easy to behind a screen. Dbd is unfortunately a toxic community.

Here are just 2 examples of what my title means: After waiting at least 10 minutes to get into a match, me and End Of The Road(we were premades) were faced with this...Let's say the first one we managed to pull it somehow and 3 of us escaped... But the second match with the David's when there was 1 gen remained they were too scared to come even close to any of those 3 gens which remained on the map... To add it more, they did 1 gen together while me and my teammate did 3 and a half gens and resulted in us dying first because we tried to repair the last gen while they were sitting like ducks on the other side of the map where all gens have been done...I don't have anything against newbies, we were all there at some point, but please, for God's sakes, keep them with people close to their ranks and not with red ranks survivors and purple ranks killers...They get caught in less than 15 seconds of chase...

I've played a decent number of multiplayer games and this is by far the worst matchmaking I've ever experienced, heck even worse than in CS GO... How much do we have to wait for a new matchmaking system to be implemented? You, developers, mentioned 2 and a half months ago when the Ruin update came live that you desire to change the matchmaking system, nothing new related to that since then...

Do I need to say more on the killer side as well?...

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/785/RVOP06CC3WU1.jpg

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/453/ZIXVJ619380Y.jpg

I'm playing on PC from Eastern Europe.

As a survivor you have to wait at least 5 to 10 minutes for a match that can last 4-5 minutes if it ends too fast or you're facecamped or mori'ed...As a killer you get instantly into a match, but the ranks you're paired against makes you the worst experience you will ever encounter(if you're in green and purple ranks)...You would rather bang your head to the wall as strong as possible and make up your mind and get the heck outta this game, but you still come back...

The sheer number of survivors(most of them in red ranks) compared to the very low number of people playing as a killer is the result of what's happening. I've been playing this game since summer 2016(with breaks), and sadly, in my opinion, I think it's in the worst state the game has ever been since its release(even worse than past times where gens would instantly fly by with brand new part and self-care would take 20 seconds to heal, or even less, I don't remember exactly the time it took to fully heal yourself...)

that’s not even the worst. I was playing in a SWF tonight and we got a rank 20 killer. I felt so bad for them after the game I went to message them but couldn’t because of their settings so ended up sending them a friend request just so I could apologise. They were playing as nurse which is hard enough but to get red ranks in your lobby when you’ve obviously only just started playing the game.

The bs matchmaking is a good way to make new players hate the game.

so, I just bought the game about a month or two ago, and main wraith as a killer. I've learned everything I know from a popular streamer known as Tru3Ta1ent, and frequently see him go up against sweaty swf groups. As I hit green rank, I recently started going up against the same thing. Survivors who were blatantly swf who were trolling and annoying the ######### out of me. Today was the last straw when I faced a few red ranks, all swf. They all had borrowed time, decisive strike, and would conga line each other when injured. Two of them burned the crotus prenn asylum offering, which is a pretty bad map for wraith in my opinion. They were t bagging, and overall made my experience horrible. After all 4 escaped unexpectedly, they started spamming me with "baby killer", "trash", etc. Its ridiculous that I can't find any chill games anymore, and I decided to just quit the game. I was told by my friend, who convinced me to buy the game and play with him, that the game was slowly dying and he wanted more people to play it. Well now I see why. So many people, new players like me especially, are being pushed away from the game by these toxic swf groups. Something needs to be done, and until that happens, I won't even bother to touch the game. Devs can at least add some sort of casual game mode right? Kinda like rainbow six siege with casual, unranked, and ranked? Idk, all I'm saying is this ######### needs to be fixed, because its broken as hell...

Killers aren’t much better. I’ve had salty rude messages from killers, I have killers that play as ghost face who sit there and Continuously t-bag when they down you, ive had killers leave me on the ground and wait for me to bleed out instead of hooking me, i get killers that mori spam me, tunnel me out of the game, face camp me to death even if it’s at the start of the game. There are sweaty toxic killers out there

BT and DS is useless unless you tunnel or camp.

my point is, dbd has the most toxic community. Killers get sick of the way survivors play and survivors get sick of the way killers play. There’s toxicity on both sides not just from survivors. In my opinion

I think some of the changes that the devs have been made haven’t helped the situation at all but it‘s bad on both sides. It’s not one sided

Okay...so i need someone to explain why you can see him but he has no terror radius. he can literally be on top of you with no terror radius which he can shoot out of for 4 times his terror radius size EASILY. Like I know his purple add on and monitor and abuse make this possible but someone justify how this isn't a stealth killer with an audio bug at this point.

This man is stupid. I wouldn't care but because his terror radius is dogshit and I mean literal dogshit you get almost no chase because the game doesn't count you as being in one because you can't hear the music. I have had games where I spend 2 gens running from this man and got quarter chase because I refused to let him be directly up my rectum. I get more points for getting out of chases than being in them. His terror radius cuts in and out during chases so tracking him is impossible. At least with Myers and Ghostface their terror radius is consistent. If Myers is playing scratched mirrors you hear his big ass feet coming a mile away and know KNOW he won't have a terror radius all game which is fine because he has to get up on you to kill you.

Please someone explain how this is fair that a stealth killer has long range. Either buff his terror radius and make it double the size of his chain range to give people a shot or remove the chain and make him a m1 killer. WIth one add on he can shoot outside his terror radius. Spine chill is the only thing saving me at this point when dealing with this man. But I'm tired of having to run spine chill, decisive strike, dead hard, sprint bursts. I never had to run any of this before this man but now I do just to even out the playing field.

Fix his damn terror radius already.

I’ve noticed this also. Yes everyone can say there are perks/add ons to reduce the terror radius but I’ve had the killer come up behind me with no terror radius at all. I’m not talking about a reduced terror radius...he’s had none.

someone said it had to do with his weapon. I can’t remember exactly what they said but it was to do with weather he was walking around with it up or something.

  • @bunnibeetea said:

I know it sounds like I'm whining, but how is this actually fair? How am I supposed to improve when I get stomped on as killer all of the time. I could either wait in lobby as a survivor for 10 mins to find a game that goes terrible, or instantly find a game as killer against red rank/rank 1 survivors? I genuinely would like some advice in how to improve, other than just "get good" as I've played this game for 3 years and this has always happened to me

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/472/17Y609961K4J.jpg

not trying to be rude or anything but i'm not quite sure what the issue is here. the devs already said that if you can't get a killer that matches the highest rank survivor then it should be 6 ranks on either side weather thats higher or lower. i also agree with someone else's comment about how you are pretty close to red ranks anyway. a lot of the red ranks don't play like red ranks. is it possible that you've been unlucky and been matched up with a swf group.

in my opinion bad match making is what i had last night. we are red ranks and had a rank 17 killer. it became obvious pretty quickly that they were new to killer. they just gave up mid game. i ended up sacrificing myself at the end because i felt so bad. its a ######### situation being matched up with people 15 ranks higher than you. feels bad.

my point is, being matched up with survivors 1 colour away from you isn't too bad (unless you keep getting a full swf group). i think that playing in those situations will also make you better because you have to try different play styles maybe different builds. you are trying different things, learning different ways. getting matched up with survivors 15 ranks higher than you is bad, baby killers are still learning the basics, learning what all the perks do, learning the mechanics of the game and they are up against people that have had a lot of experience.

thats just my opinion and i know not everyone will agree.

I've been going on the forums for quite a while now and I've seen so much hate on freddy and how unfun he is to play against

I personally like fighting him but i just wanted to know why everyone else doesn't

like a lot of people, i find him extremely boring to play against. i had him in hawkins once and the killer had every single perk/add on to slow the game down as much as they could. on top of that, dealing with him being able to teleport to any gen while the game has already been slowed right down..i kid you not, the game went for about 30-40 minutes. also compared to other killers his hit box is ridiculous.

  • Calm spirit is pretty much the only counter. i mean you could jump into a locker when you hear him powering up or if you are in his terror radius but then you'd probably just be locker hopping all game which isn't fun. personally i hate going up against the doctor, luckily not many people use him...at the moment anyway.

Little story what happened, I played plague for my daily. I had a feng with a key and she was hiding and immersing the entire game, just saw her leggit 1 time. She was never unhooking or touching barely any gens. I felt bad cuz I hate those ppl and I can imagine that this is very frustrating for the other 3 that were playing a regular game with me, I played very fair though and the game went for 23min. So it wasnt a fast stomp where I slugged everyone or anything else. Anyway 2 ppl were dead and I tried to find the other 2. I tried to find feng and after 10min ("22min ingame) the yui wanted the attention and was pointing at the feng hiding in a locker. I killed the feng straight up and thought for a second, okey well the yui was funny (She naughted at me and was a good looper actually) so I gave her the hatch for beeing funny and actually good in chase.

    Endgame chat:

Feng: "I was recording this and I am gonna report you for teaming"

"I have to survive so I am allowed to do that" thats what she also said after I said that she was hiding the entire game and not helping her team at all.

My question now: The random survivor (yui) came to me and showed me where the feng was, I didnt know about this. So this cant be teaming right? I mean I gave the yui the hatch and that could look like it but actually the feng deserved to die and the yui played well, I dont see a reason to denie a good survivor the hatch personally.

in my opinion it technically is teaming. the yui ratted the feng out but you chose to go along with it, kill the feng and let the yui go.

personally i can't stand survivors that rat other survivors out. if in fact the feng did play the way you said she did then she probably did deserve to die but at the same time there's no way i would have let the yui go after doing what she did.

you don't know that the feng didn't do anything during the game. i've been in a situation where i've thrown accusations at someone for something then i went to watch their video that they put up and realised that they didn't actually do what i accused them of. i apologised to them but my point is things can look very different through someone else's eyes.

  • @danielmaster87 said:

There's just too much power variability on the survivor side for killers not to have this ability. If I see 3 toolboxes in the lobby, I'm bringing a mori. But then at the end results screen, I see it was just brown toolboxes with no add-ons, instead of what I thought which was green toolboxes with BNP and stuff. Same with yellow flashlights compared to purple instablind ones with Odd Bulb and everything.

The reason we need to see the perks is because of 1 or 2 powerful survivor perks: DS, and Adrenaline imo. DS is just so punishing to get hit by, especially when multiple survivors have it. You have to assume everyone has it, and slug instead of pick them up again. It also works from grabs like from lockers, which I think is unfair and is abuse of the perk. But then there's matches where 1 survivor or nobody had DS, and I played around it for every survivor, causing me to waste time and lose. With Adrenaline, the survivors get a free health state AND a sprint burst, even off of hook. You need to know whether survivors have that or not, because if everyone is pushing gens while injured and then they all get healed to full, that's an unwinnable situation for the killer, even if he was winning.

Should survivors also be able to see what the killer has? No. The killer should be the power role, and this being a 1-sided mechanic gives them a small edge, especially over SWF.

Again, the thing that inspired this idea is the crazy power variation survivors can have. One match I'll play Spirit and get a 4k, but the next match I'll get a 0k. This happens because in the first match the survivors were suboptimal and didn't bring OP stuff and run full meta perks, and the second match they were all good survivors, SWF, 4 DS and Borrowed, and BNP. It's not fair that the killer has absolutely no idea what he's up against until he's losing and it's too late to adjust his playstyle to compensate.

    • toolboxes are useless now, anyone that plays survivor knows this. you can't even complete a full gen with one no matter what add ons you have. not to mention that the gen speeds are changing in the next update
    • DS is an anti-tunnel perk so don't tunnel and you won't have to deal with it. if someone is obsession then you will know that at least one person has it unless you have a perk on relating to an obsession
    • Adrenaline? even if you did know that the survivor has adrenaline, it's not going to change the fact that they will still get a free health state and speed boost at the end anyway. so really, knowing is pointless.
    • instablind flashlights, just dodge the lobby if its that big of a deal

if you want to pick on all things survivor maybe you should look at killers....huntress with iri hatchets, having an insta down killer...no one knows who they are playing until they are in the game, getting intsa downed really isn't fair, getting tunnelled, getting camped, playing a freddy with all the slow down perks possible and the fact he can teleport from gen to gen, spirit fury perk...its so unfair when survivors drop pellets and they instantly break, survivors should know when a killer has make your choice because its so unfair when you are in exposed effect and get insta downed because the killer comes straight back to hook, myers with tombstone.

my point is, i don't think either side should know what the other side has. they both have some ######### perks that no one likes to go up against. in my opinion, going up against these perks make you play different styles and you can learn from them.

Those God Loops/"Infinites" always involve a window that survivor can use without a risk (Except some killers) and are able to waste a lot of the killers time just by using these windows (for example the window in the main building from Iron Works of Misery in the picture below). As a killer you are forced to break the chase if a survivor manages to get to one of these windows and ignore that part of the map.

So my question is,why can't these very strong windows get closed?

It would be an easy change to implement and a HUGE step towards balancing maps.Furthermore every map that features a god loop/"Infinite" has more than enough strong windows and palletts for survivors to work with so they don't need these god loops anyway.

    What do you think?

    Killers also get bloodlust.

Use bamboozle then survivors can’t go through the window.

  • when did they bring that in? i didn't think t-bagging was bannable at all.

if i have too many games with mori's, i just leave the game while in the loading screen. i don't mind the odd mori but when you constantly get games with them, its frustrating especially when the killers hard tunnel you just to get the mori.

  • i've never used inisious but if i had to guess i would say its because leatherface has an insta down....the chainsaw so you don't need to worry about hitting the survivor twice. quick and easy. not sure why people don't use it on billy.

Wraith, pig, ghost face and myers are stealthy killers so there is no point in using that perk on them. at some point they can stand/move around without a terror radius.

i guess freddy can teleport...not sure about the other killers. maybe people just don't really play the other killers. I could be wrong, I don't know. just guessing.

  • Maybe they decided to get rid of SWF option after all the b****ing about it. It’s weird you can’t play SWF but can play solo or killer. Although I feel like they would lose a lot of their player base if they did that

  • I’m having the same issue. Thought it was just me but then everyone in the SWF group kept getting it. Tried restarting the PlayStation about 4 times, checked the internet which is fine but I’m still getting the error. It’s only when I go to invite people to my lobby or open my friends list

  • The way they changed the matchmaking, those examples are normal.

  • @oxygen said:

Rank 1s are supposed to be confined to the rank range of 1-6/7, aren't they? I can't remember if the intended "acceptable" range was +/- 6 or 7 ranks. So assuming matchmaking works as intended they're already actually supposed to only be matched with red and the "top" of purple ranks.

But of course, matchmaking gets drunk a lot.

I thought it goes off what ever rank the highest rank survivor is and if there isn’t a killer that matches that rank then it goes 6 ranks above or below. So if rank 4 is the highest survivor rank in the lobby then anything below or anything up to rank 10 is normal. But yes as others have said, matchmaking is broken.

The answer is all above, not gonna repeat the same to ppl who won't read the entire story. In nutshell, yes. That rank 1 has nothing to do in a rank 17 match. Imagne playing Siege in bronze while the enemy team magically has a diamond player. That's what this is.

I’ve never played siege nor do I have any interest in it so your example means nothing to me.

and I read the “whole story” as you put it. Doesn’t mean I got to read everything before I commented. I started to reply and had to go do something so yes, other people posted their responses while I was mid replying so I didn’t get to see them all first.

we have different opinions so all good. have a good day

Sooo nerfing all the “overpowered” killer crap and letting every unfair no skill survivor second chance perk being in the game is not enough to show that how much you devs like to babysitt your new (and even old) noob survivor mains? But you still allow this BS matchmaking to happen with new killer players. Fair thing yes. If they gonna have a fookin’ rank 2 give them a rank 2 killer as well for god’s sake. (Which they actually got this time that’s why they got stomped so hard). So babies might think twice next time they queue up with a high ranked player.

I don’t see what the issue is? 1 red rank amongst other survivors that are around your rank? In theory, that red rank survivor is at a disadvantage because they are playing with people who are also still learning the game. In my experiences, survivors around rank 17-20 miss skill checks, are scared to do anything, hide when they see the killer even if the killer is right over the other side of the map.....and I could go on. how is that unfair to you as a rank 17 killer?

You’re complaining because you got 1 red rank in your lobby who you killed, you got a 4K and almost a perfect game. Hmm

It's basically to stop exactly that, to stop people from deranking to play against (and bully) brand new players. The only people who should be at those ranks are people who are new to the game and people who are coming back from a long break.

if its to stop bullying and to stop higher ranks playing against lower ranks then why do red ranks still get matched up with lower rank killers. It's not just a one off thing, it's been happening a lot recently.

In the Otz video, a generator repaired every 27 seconds. So how many seconds did this match be repaired? 15-20? Playing Survivor is fun, but playing killer is not fun, especially playing with Legion, who is dead, is no fun. But at least I was able to get 1k here. I was successful in the room heavy tunnel. The only reason I leave afk is shard.

hate to break it to you but de-ranking further than rank 16 won't change the broken match making. i'm in red ranks (survivor) and still get rank 20 killers, sometimes rank 17 killers.

It is possible to win without tunnelling, that's why I said "killers are often forced to tunnel". Not always, but often, especially when you're playing killers such as the Clown. Getting one survivor out of the game as quickly as possible boosts your chances of winning the game. Hooking different survivors, on the other hand, is a recipe for defeat when generators fly. Also, let's not pretend survivors don't have enough "anti tunnel" perks, DS and BT to name a few.

Tunnelling can be a good tactic, as SWF groups will go out of their way to save their friend. I fail to see why tunnelling is wrong, too; after all, do survivors start repairing a new gen when you've scared them off one? No. They'll go back to the one they were repairing. Are they "tunnelling a generator"? I wouldn't say so. They're acting smart. They're playing to win, and you can't blame them for that.

This is why I claim that neither tunnelling nor gen rushing are inherently wrong. They can be the best means to reach an end. Are they fun? No. But this is the nature of the game: it's a constant fight. There's (almost) no honor in war. If the game actually rewarded killers who go for the unhooker, everyone would do it. But as of now it doesn't make sense; how many times have I hooked every survivor only to depip? Lowering the threshold of a brutal pip would be a good way to start.

At the end of the day, it's the developers' fault. Make the game less sweaty and add other objectives for the survivors, and you'll see tunnelling disappear.

the game isn't designed for killers or survivors to win every game.

you are right, survivors do have a few "anti tunnel" perks but they are needed in a lot of games because of the way killers have started playing. i'd rather have a chance than to instantly go down every time i'm unhooked. i know that survivors are sometimes to blame for that happening too especially when someone is hook humping.

survivors do go out of their way to save each other and for me thats because i don't like seeing someone being targeted. i've been in that situation and it really sucks.

as for going back to the same gen after being chased off it, it depends. i don't always go back to the same gen. also i agree....if the killer kept coming back to the gen then i wouldn't call that tunneling, thats patrolling gens and if a gen is almost done then it would be smart to go back to that one. that is different to tunneling a survivor.

i'm not sure what rank you are but i know when you get to red ranks, camping and tunneling 1 person will also make you de-pip. you need to do a lot in red ranks to pip or safety pip. do i think the pipping system is fair...no i don't. i definitely think killers have it a lot harder.

i also agree with you about it being the developers fault. even the tome challenges, they encourage a lot of unwanted behaviour, however, i still believe that tunneling/camping is an issue and so are the gen speeds, unfortunately it's not very likely that either will get looked at.

  • @AddictedToMosh said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/138334/so-killers-cant-complain-about-genrush-but-survivors-can-complain-about-camping-and-tunneling

Goes to show the double standards. I genuinely think that those who complain about tunnelling/ camping don't play killer. If they did, they'd realise that killers are often forced to tunnel one survivor to even stand a chance. I don't like tunnelling as killer either, but what am I supposed to do? Lose the game because the survivors are not having fun? How about we fix the maps/ gen speeds first? I'm sure that tunnelling would become less common by the day then.

I can’t stand camping or tunnelling. It’s boring and it really sucks as a survivor if you’re downed pretty early in the game. Does it mean that I don’t play killer because I hate it and I complain about it? No it doesn’t. I do play killer. I refuse to camp or tunnel Because it is a ######### way to play and I can still manage to get 3 or 4K half of the time without doing it.

Camping and tunnelling started happening more once ruin was nerfed (worst idea the devs had) but remember people use to play and win games without using ruin (before the changes) so it’s not impossible.

do I also think that gen repair speeds are too fast? Yes I do. Doesn’t mean killers have to tunnel or camp. Try different builds. You can still win.

im red rank survivor and I’ve been up against plenty of red rank killers that don’t camp or tunnel and still get a 3 or 4K.

when people make comments about how killers are pretty much forced to tunnel and camp a survivor to stand a chance, I think it’s bs. You get a good team of survivors and you’ll only get 1 kill by camping or tunnelling anyway. so what’s the point..it’s boring and if you’re only going to get 1 kill anyway why not just play properly and Figure out a way that works and get better in certain situations.

with saying all that, I do think something needs to be done to the gen speed. Until then it is still possible to win as killer.

  • i always thought it was any height that makes you stagger when you fall. i put on the haddonfield map to do that challenge and just got the killers attention while i was upstairs then looped him in/around that house a couple of times to complete the challenge. fall, run back upstairs, fall again, run back up stairs..

I didn't get a penalty after the game crashed on me. (I was in the middle of hooking someone and the game just went out)

they must have disabled the penalties. i wonder if it's just an issue with PS4 or everyone.

  • @MsFrizby93 said:

  • @Fibijean said:

Only on Xbox. The penalties themselves weren't disabled, but the dedicated servers as a whole (on which the penalties rely to function) were disabled due to a serious bug that as far as I'm aware is still in the process of being resolved.

  • @hex_genrush said:

Tunneling seems to be a huge issue for the survivor side. When I play survivor get tunneled sometimes but I don’t complain because I bring ds into almost all of my solo q game. But the killer has a good reason to tunnel. I had a game where all the survivors spread out in gens and by the time I got my first down 3 gens popped, not saying it took me 80 seconds to down but rather to find and down. I got the survivor and hooked them, right when I stepped away they were unhooked without bt I downed the survivor and hooked them again I stepped away and it happened again. Turns out eliminating one survivor makes it so much easier to cope with the time crunch. I easily 4ked with 2 gens up. Did I want to tunnel ? No/yes I could care less but I could imagine it wasn’t that fun for the person who had no ds and kept getting farmed without bt. So, how could we fix tunneling? Well I think killers shouldn’t be punished for tunneling but instead they need a reason to not tunnel, and please don’t say “ sUrviVors hAve dS “ I have still been tunneled as survivor after using ds, and while playing killer I’ll gladly eat the ds if your on death hook. I don’t think tunneling needs to have a deteruent, but instead killers shouldn’t need a reason to tunnel.

i always go away from the hook and if the survivor gets unhooked, i don't go back, i patrol gens or chase someone else. if i go back to hook then the others have more time to get gens done, however, if someone unhooked another survivor in front of me, i would just go after the person that unhooked. it happened the other day when i was killer. a claudette, got the david off as soon as i hooked him (without BT), I went to hit her but accidentally got him and downed him. i left him on the ground and went after the claudette. downed her, hooked her next to the david on the ground then walked away so someone could get him up. i don't want an easy game other wise its boring and it also makes it a crap experience for the survivor that keeps getting downed that fast. I still managed to get a 4k. But I agree with DisappointedUser, those situations are not tunneling.

I can give you an example of tunneling.....i had a game where the killer found me within 30 seconds of spawning, hooked me, someone got me off, killer broke chase with someone else to come back to me, downed me, i used ds and he kept coming for me, downed me again and hooked me, someone got me off and the killer came back after me again. team mates tried getting in the way and taking hits and blocking but the killer had no interest in any of them, he kept going around them or hitting them to get them out of the way and continued after me.

  • @Exxodus21 said:

The only ways I can think of to fix a situation like this would be to allow the hooked survivor to prevent being unhooked, switch Borrowed Time from being a perk used by the unhooking survivor to being a perk used by the hooked survivor, or apply the exposed effect to the unhooking survivor if they unhook someone within "x" meters of the killer.

"or apply the exposed effect to the unhooking survivor if they unhook someone within "x" meters of the killer." sounds like Make your choice :)

As of today's release of patches 75% of the people I am playing with are quitting thanks alot dev's if I am losing so many friends and associates there has to be others as well so I guess maintaining the killers happiness is worth losing a large amount of survivors. Good job you are successful and being honest I was leaving anyway to play resistance when it drops but this has made my decision so much easier.

i'm in the same situation but most of the people i know started leaving once ruin was nerfed and the match making got really bad. it was kind of the last straw for them. a lot of people have said that they are only staying because there's no game like dbd out there at the moment. well that may not be the case much longer. i'm also leaving once project resistance comes out in april.

  • @KillerKiller said:

    ARE YOU HIGH?

Nerfing the toolboxes has me considering deleting the game.

As killer I always get 4/4. I never hook anyone twice till everyone is hooked once. I never kill till everyone is hooked twice. When I down you a third time I leave you to be healed and only kill on your fourth down and I get 4/4 EVERY TIME.

KILLERS ARE TOO OP SURVIVORS ARE TOO WEAK and they keep making it easier.

On top of that, as survivor I'm a red rank #1 and I escape one in 20 matches. Sometimes I go days without a single escape. The game is too easy on killers but killers who aren't good blame the game.

Nerfing the tool boxes is the worst thing they could have done.

I think it's time for me to stop playing.

They allow killers to bully survivors with no consequence, they coddle killers who simply need to get better.

This game just isn't fun anymore.

    It's become a guaranteed4k every time and it's absurd.

i disagree that killers have it easy. also, sabo times are 2.5 seconds, the gen repair speed has been increased, I wouldn't call that a nerf to toolboxes at all.

As I did'nt play killer really much in the last months I fell back to rank 20.

Am I the only one experiencing this or am I going to stay at rank 20 forever with killer because I don't want to play lobby simulator?

Edit: What do you guys do while waiting for the time to pass?

i had the same issue. i don't usually play killer but decided to get on and grind through my challenges over the weekend that i hadn't even started and i was waiting 10-15 minutes to even get into a lobby. it wasn't even just 1 or 2 games, it was like every game.

Leatherface Facecamping. join the party... and be ready to destroy the last fun of the game in this toxic community!
