For the hag I would definitely say that the pink shoe add-on is worthless, as you cannot teleport to your traps with it on but it makes you move slightly faster.
The disfigured ear, hand, and heart aren't the best either as they have little to no use in builds. Or at least the builds I have used anyways, secondary hag main here.
Other than that, the rest of her add-ons above some decent use. I prefer trap setting speed and teleport distance, but the aura and duration are cool to try new things with.
also sorry for typos, I typed this without my glasses on

I was upset when I played a match and found this was happening. I really hope they fix this soon, and that's it's not intentional

I've also noticed alot of survivors have been using "Inner Strength" for a quick heal, and I do too to be honest. It tackles the possibly of NOED and gives a free heal. Although, I miss the surprise element of NOED too, as back then when it activated everyone had a "bruh" moment and exited as soon as possible. It's still there, but not as fun for both sides IMO.
Also, when Devour gives the Exposed notification, most survivors stop doing gens and begin to purely focus on the totem from what I've seen. Keeping the effect hidden would spice it up, and players who are alert or aren't playing alone will notice that they are exposed. I don't mind being moried if the killer played smart and earned it.
Food for thought I guess
-
I feel this way too. I used to only really play survivors but now I play both equally. I'm rank 1 killer/survivor on PS4, devotion 5 and until you step back and look at both sides you begin to see what might need to be changed

I'd say sandbag or spamming unhook on someone
Edit: from killer side tunneling someone for no reason 3 times in a row from the moment game starts
A nea did this to me because I "farmed" her when she was on deathook, even though the killer went after me after I unhooked her. She kept spamming the unhook button until i died, not letting any of my teammates save me

Okay, I'm reporting you for being a troll.
I suppose he was right? I don't even remember how that game went, but I almost killed one of them (I think) but they used DS and borrowed time at the last minute?? Im just confused as of why this blew up, and I'm getting back to this forum late

This isn't even that bad. Rank 6 vs rank 4 and 1. Also, you're Spirit, so there is no room to complain.
A lot of you guys are right, and thinking back to when I posted this I probably shouldn't have? You are right, in the moment I probably thought I was cheated out of a game when I didn't even see how many points I earned

If anything I was glad I faced red rank survivors on console at rank 12. I got my ass kicked like there was no tomorrow and because of that dedication I put towards the game, I am now a rank 7 and wiping the floor with survivors like I did back at 20 when they were all randoms. The game just requires a certain amount of skill, knowing how to mind game loops, and learning when it's time to back off and hunt the weaker players and when it's time to tunnel the one who wants your attention lol. Rank is a color, skill is something that is earned and can ONLY be achieved with failure first.
I used to play nurse, and I rarely play her now in PS4 and your right!

Are you new to spirit? If so try stridor on her it will help you hear better, if you are not, I suggest removing Ruin and get pop as for brutal strength get another tracking perk like nurse's calling or I'm all ears, I also play on PS4 and all I can say about spirit is try looking before you phase and never fully deplete your phasing......bar? Let's call it that.
As for the ranking system, it's really bad right now but remember this, just because they are red rank doesn't mean that they are good, most of these new red ranks on ps4 were never good most were carried by 4 man SWF, keep on practicing and you will get way better at the game, this is what I did for a while, I put on bbq, got all 4 stacks, then I just started learning mid match, trying new things and what to do on certain tiles.
You will get better and this MM won't bother you at all :D
I have played her since release, and I don't have pop goes the weasel sadly :(((
I'll try to improve more instead of just focusing on always killing survivors, as when I don't I get angry. Focusing on something like getting stacks of BBQ seems more fun honestly

I know I'm going to sound like a dick saying this, but maybe don't play top-tier killers unless you are extremely good at them. Most decent survivors see Spirit/Nurse/Billy/Freddy/Huntress/Deathslinger and immediately go into super-serious mode. It's pretty stupid, but that is what happens. Survivors will be a lot more cocky around 'weaker' killers, which can super backfire. Especially if the killer isn't actually weak when played well, like Hag, Ghostface or Plague.
Or you could just practise one or two killers and get really, really good at them. Learn their nuances, learn their add-ons, and rember that you are going to lose a lot of games simply because you got outperked, outmapped or outgenned. It's inevitable and literally nothing can be done, but at the same time it's also non-reflective of your skill if you get wiped by a decent team on Ormond (or whatever example you want to use). Maybe give yourself a primary goal to work towards in each match that is always achievable, like getting 4 BBQ stacks.
I have never considered this, and I suppose your right! I have played spirit since release and I see what you mean now. Compared to when I play hag sometimes, people don't know what to do against her. I should practice more and learn how survivors play/react as everyone plays survivor differently

What? Yeah, matchmaking is a problem right now but you're a rank 6 going against reds. Even on the old system where it suppose to be within 6 levels or so this would have been fine. Considering you said you've been playing for 3 years I'd also say you're probably a red rank player anyway.
Not only that but you did really well considering how many points you had. The survivors had a lot of points as well so it seems like it was a good game for both sides. Going off your screenshot, I'd be happy as hell with a game like that.
I never thought of it that way! Thank you, I honestly didn't realize how many points I had gotten from that game.
-
I wanted to thank everyone who left feedback too, either positive or negative (I deserve it) and hopefully I can figure out how to manage my frustration instead of disconnecting. I know I'm a baby, but I need to figure out how to deal with it on my own to get better at the game, and I wasn't thinking of survivor queue times at higher rank. I'd be upset if a killer disconnected after I waited like 8 mins for a game
Thank you all for actually leaving comments on this discussion :)

I'd hope for the best, and I would want the killer to at least acknowledge they DC's but play as normal

The same for me. Playing with a goal other than the game's really makes is a lot more fun.
I'll try doing that actually. Now that's it been a few days of reading all these, I see how disconnecting sucks for both sides, and from now on I'll try to take breaks and just play those games through and through

The grab glitches on console are ######### absurd, I've been grabs by at least like 20 grabs in the past week when the game literally shows the animation for a split second before literally locking you in place while you watch the survivor run away from you. I hope they fix this sometime

I agree, they need a nerf. but removing them isn't the way to go about this. the devs spent a lot of time animating them and thinking of an idea for one that isn't "slash slash they dead" (except for trapper and wraith) and removing that regards all that time as pointless. I personally think it should be either "after everyone has been hooked once, they can be moried." or "if they've been hooked once they can be moried AFTER all the gens have been completed". that makes them not necessarily unfair, makes endgame builds worth something for once, and even provides some possible downsides to killers (eg, having to decide to hook them again and risk a hook-suicide or let them go complete gens so you can mori them).
In some games though, you don't get to hook everyone. That could be with generators going too fast, or survivors being many thanks above them and stuff like that. Killers don't really earn much when they run an ebony Mori imo, I usually wait until the mid/end game to use them unless I get really mad at the behavior of survivors

I just had a match (as survivor) about an hour ago and i (lvl 11) was teamed with a level 1 and 2x level 2's. We got the quad escape yeah but the killer was a level 15..
I mean ok i was on the "winning" team, but my first reaction was how the hell is this fair on that person playing killer.
To make things worse, i had a suspicion that my 3 team mate were swf so i checked, and yep they were on eacg others friends list.
Literally though. I think the game is much more balanced whenever I play solo survivor, because in my opinion you have to play much smarter, keeping an eye on what your teammates are doing, guess if someone is going for a save, etc. But in a swf, that fun of being in a new game with no clue on how everybody plays is taken away from me and I just get super bored and don't take the game seriously. I try to be nice to killers unless I get tilted, because I know it's super hard for them on console sometimes

Sadly, I and many others had this issue. The downright horseshit matchmaking is a big factor as to why people dont play killer due to massive gaps in skill level. With no disrespect the only legitmate solution is to get gud. Figure out how to counter the survivors and improve from there. Its an insanely uphill batyle but when your reach the top, you'll feel pretty good. Until the sweaty swf show up. I'd recommend playing some top tier killers like spirit or billy if you just wanna rank up. If you just wanna have fun then bless your heart from a washed up trapper main.
Thank you, I really just wanna get points to level ppl up but ita so frustrating going against survivors with crazy strong loops, disrespectful and bm behavior too. I just bought the plague for my birthday recently and I've had the worst time of of ever playing this game lately. Again, thank you 🥺

For me its not really about them nerfing survivor nor do I want buffs.
The past year they have worked hard to make the killer experience less frustrating, but they haven’t done anything for survivors. The experience especially solo is just as miserable as ever.
I can agree with you on that front. I haven't played swf in a while and I enjoy playing alone, but the rest of my team usually doesn't help the game progress in a good way, by 3 genning us, using all the pallets, etc.

Recently seen a lot of Wraith/Ghost Face (and some Pig) played recently at the higher ranks, and I'm not sure whether it's because of certain streamers/YouTubers promoting them or not. However, after playing around with these Killers myself, I have to agree that they are really good at combating the current way of how Survivors play - e.g. avoiding BT, being able to slug DS users because of this, etc.
Just wondering how long the stealth meta will go on for now as I can't really see BT or even DS getting nerfed anytime soon, and for as long as these perks stay as they are, so will the people that play Wraith, GF, Pig, etc. On one hand, it's great to see the usual three phased out recently, but on the other we have a "new" set of Killers to keep playing against instead.
I quite like seeing this honestly, but how long will it be before the meta changes again?
I feel like people will start to run unbreakable more, and maybe play safer? I dunno

Where my console players at?
I'm on PS4. with the amount of time I've played since the update I can say I do notice the game playing.... better... I still get random errors, no network connection, etc... but it happens less frequent and the game does perform better then before this update. still much needed work to be done so whatever BHVR did I hope they continue doing it....
What about you guys? does the game seem better then before?
I think it does feel a little better, I'm on PS4 Pro and the game still acts weird sometimes, but not to the extent that it used to. Also, queue times take longer than they should? It takes like 5 mins to find a game in green rank, and even longer in purple/red. Visually, I think some cosmetics and hair need to be updated but other than that the game does run decent
-
Also, I like to use it to travel around the map faster, like if someones struggling on hook across the map it will help me get to them faster for saves
-
I find it to be the most consistent exhaustion perk in my opinion? You can instantly get distance between yourself and the killer, while running Lithe, Balanced Landing, and other perks are nice but I have gotten hit and injured, maybe even downed before I could reach a vault or high surface to drop from
-
I feel like Omega blink isn't so bad? It gives you more range definitely but it doesn't give her any more blinks. If they were to need it, they could either time down the distance slightly or make those add-ons increase fatigue time?

But the "optimizations" don't actually do anything besides make every headpiece look worse than it originally/could have looked
they could redo them over time, granted it would be a lot of resources but they could focus on making them more game-efficient as well as looking better/realistic
-
like what if they gave her hair kind of like this?
-
I get it's for optimization, but the newer hair on some of the new cosmetics isn't as bad? I think they should revamp old ones. Laurie's hair looks ######### awful (imo), I wish they would make it look more like the original and maybe give it some dynamic bones lol
-
I seem to notice it all the time, I like to walk with Sprint Burst and it really comes in handy when using perks like Distortion. I really like the combo, as you can Sprint towards the hook with an added bonus of no scratch marks or aura of the killer has BBQ :)
-
I kind of have a very bad habit of DC'ing when I've had a bad day and a game goes terrible from the very start, especially when I get downed in the first minute. Usually, I get I'll be willing to deal with a few of these in a row, but after like 4 I just say FML and decide to take a break.
Yeah, I know it's not very good but it keeps me from getting harmfully angry 🤷🏻♀️
-
You can always guess that the spirit is trying to grab you off a gen by not working on it for a few seconds? Or maybe trying to guess if she's either standing still or phase walking? I'm a spirit/nurse main and I use those tactics against other spirits and they are used on me, and they work sometimes if used correctly

With spirit you can just stand still and the survivors freak out 💯 times out of 10 lmao

@FireHazard said:
Your points on Killer are good ideas to do indeed, its good to always start off by going to the farthest generator from you, it wont always help you find the first Survivor, but it brings you to the area that they spawn and that's a good thing.
It can reduce time they could be doing on other gens if they're hiding from you in the area, and overall its a good idea to monitor other gens if you somehow don't find someone by doing this.
Chases are another thing, you have the right idea to break chases that last WAY TOO LONG, its not a good idea to waste time on things that're going nowhere. In this game, every second counts ESPECIALLY as a Killer.
Some tips in chases, its a good idea when in a loop to always try adding "moonwalking" into the mix. If you're chasing a Survivor around a loop that has a wall, you should try chasing them until they go around a corner out of sight, than when they can't see you, they'll be relying on your red light to see if you're coming around the corner.
When they do this, try moonwalking into that direction while facing the other way. They'll think you doubled back on them and that's when you can nail them with a hit! Use the red light or "red stain" to your advantage, its always a good idea to do this because a lot of Survivors, new or old, rely on it to know where you are around corners.
At loops without walls or not high enough walls, you should try doubling back around it to fool them into getting closer on the other end. You'll know if its a good idea judging from the distance around said loop, and the overall length your lunge can reach when doing this.
You can also try some Killers out to get good out, I recommend Myers because of his Tier lll, you can also try Hill Billy since he can insta-down people with his chainsaw and travel distances very fast to apply heavy pressure, or if you're looking for a challenge, you can try Killers like Spirit to also travel long distances, and close gaps on loops, as well as fooling Survivors into thinking where you'll go around said loops.
This is the best I can give without going into a full guide, hope it helps!
Thank you! I find moonwalking can not work though, as the stain bugs out and appears through walls on the floor in certain maps

Hmm... I don't know that I'm qualified to give advice, but I can share some of my experiences as a killer.
1: I use my ears. The first killer I really got into was Pig and I loved Surveillance, so I got into the habit of listening for generator sounds. Once I got a feel for the noise radius, my gen patrol time improved substantially because I could take a much shorter route.
2: I've found it crucial to know when to drop chase. Often, a guy wants to lead you away from an important objective or a vulnerable teammate. Then there are those super pro juke-loopers that are just... tiring to chase. If someone seems like they're having too much fun with me, I immediately pack up and find a softer target. Most of my early 3ks and 4ks came from deliberately ignoring the sprinters until the very end of the match. They hate that.
3: I think having Whispers at rank 3 would help some of your tracking issues.
4: Slugging is a tool in your kit and it's important to know when to use it. Spread pressure, if you can pull it off, is one of the most effective ways I've found to derail survivors with a plan. Personally, I only slug if I know I can make good use of the time I would otherwise spend hooking them. I'll give it about twenty seconds, if I haven't drawn blood in that time, I go back to get my new friend on the hook. My goal is to put steady pressure on the survivors, I want them to feel the same ticking clock I do, so I need to know whether it's time to start another chase or find someone new with BBQ.
Thank you, 😂I think I might either use stridor or whispers on my spirit and nurse to help track survivors. Id have to learn how to use it though

About the 360 dodge thing; I've found it's usually a good idea to back up when they do a 360. If you're already lunging, you'll pause and there's a chance they just run into you. If you're not, it gives you a sec to judge where the end of the 360 is and lunge for that.
I've actually never tried to back up to catch a 360, especially on console. When I play survivor, I find trying to wiggle juke them, and fake them out works for much better

Surv Main here:
- I used to always get found first. I dont enjoy being the first person chased as I'm not the strongest looper but I personally avoided this by running spine chill. If you dont run spine chill pray its a killer with terror radius and play a little stealthy. Scratch marks for killers are VERY strong. Immersed survs are really rough for a lot of killers.
- Its all about doing whats best for the team. I have solo'd all five gens in games before because escaping is what winning is to me. For some people its to pip but if the rest of your team is alive when gates are powered there are still many opportunities for points. If you are a smart player and forced to gen jockey it can stop less mindful players from three genning you as well. Nothing worse than having rekt the killer and have a three gen give a killer a free 4k.
- I have the opposite problem. However i ALWAYS run kindred. when youre solo you have almost no data. But kindred shows everyone where everyone is so if they decide to do that i can at least complain in chat post game. Aftercare and bond very strong as well.
- kindred also combats hard tunneling and facecamp. Really underrated perk. And D strike is meta for this exact reason. Some killers know how strong it is to get a player out of the game early and will shamelessly do so.
Hope some of those Tips helped. Overall what i would say is the strongest thing for killers is dumb survivors. Solo queue is a rough life but at red ranks people tend to be more mindful. Sometimes you have to play AROUND your teammates and not with them and it sucks but thats why SWF is so strong.
Thank you so much! I use bond sometimes when I play solo, but I've been playing Nancy with Distortion, Self Care, Sprint Burst, and Fixated so I know where I'm putting scratch marks. Also, Fixated has saved me countless times by somehow keeping me hidden around objects and walls
