It goes by game wins so yes it does. So if you win your score goes to 1 and you lose, even if it goes to 0 that's still a -1 making it a 50/50 score placing you with people around that play lvl. So it all has to do with percentages
Total games also matters, even if a player won his first five games he would only be at MMR 10, maximum. Meanwhile people who have played lots of games could have reached an MMR of 50-100 or whatever the cap is. As someone who had thousands of hours in the game and gets mostly 3ks or 4ks I should never get matched against survivors who have played maybe 5-10 games total.

It seems to take MORE than 10 games. Much more than that. And if you play alot then you won't get games quickly. I dont what the Devs messed up but for some reason red rank killers get easier survivors and red rank survivor teams get easier killers.
This is what confuses me, before MMR hit I was rank 1 survivor so even though that doesn’t equal skill I’m sure the system could consider me above average... but yet I get rank 20 killers with one perk and 20 minutes in game.
As killer I get one red survivor and three rank 19s.
So there are enough good and bad played on each side, but they aren’t getting matched with each other

You guys havent even let the MMR set in yet. Give it a couple weeks and it should be fine. The MMR is all about percentages. It's take you wins and losses and calculate your skill percentage. That is why things are so screwed up atm cause it just got released. Let it properly settle in. And remember that most new survivors who get red players either won a game and have a 100% win rate, or are facing off Career DCers who DC anytime a killer is better then them. It needs to be addressed in a manner of DC penalties that progresses every time people DC. The first scenario there is no fix for but new players will end up evening out. I'd say to think of it like an invisible KD/R.
That’s not how MMR works, it doesn’t go by % it goes by score. You start at 0 and if you win a game against other similar people it goes up to 1, or if you beat people better than you it goes up to 3... so one “perfect game,” doesn’t put you in high MMR it still takes time. That was the whole point of it running in the background prior to the change so not everyone starts at the same level.

Works fine for me, as it has for others. So.. there MAY be something wrong with the system. But it doesn't affect everyone.
So despite the fact that a mod says there’s a problem, and the devs are looking into the problem, we still have people who think there MAY be a problem but maybe not? Wow just wow.

@Freki said:
not just does it have the other features but you will always be wanting more blood points... why? because you'll use up items and add ons and offerings so you'll need to replenish them
This is why I run it, to basically replace the items I just used. A typical killer game with BBQ and an offering gives you enough points for a whole web. Unless you went with double ultra rares that means you should be able to get a replacement of the addons you used plus other stuff like BPS or the ward to keep your addons when you do decide to run double Iri addons one day.

As I said the problem was only found today - it was communicated as quickly as possible. We expected matchmaking to be a little bit messy initially, a totally new system like this was always going to have teething troubles imo, regardless of date previously having been connected. And as soon as a possible issue was noticed - it was communicated to the community on this forum.
With regards to who the system will decide you play against, that will be the killer with the closest MMR to yours - regardless of what character that is. So if there's 3 killers with around the same MMR for example, it will most likely prioritise that killer who's been in the queue the longest (as I said, irrespective of what character that is). And fwiw I just played 17 matches, all were full red ranked matches and I played a wide variety of killers - so I don't think the argument of one type of killer is valid at all because MMR is a number not a character.
And we have said, we might reveal individual MMR's in the future - there's no set date for this to be shown though.
I'm sorry that you are being placed against players who are a higher MMR than you right now, I appreciate how frustrating that must be - but there's nothing further I can answer on that, the system is being looked at, an issue has been identified and hopefully will be soon adjusted.
There's not really much more I can say.
When you say the problem only found today, do you mean the cause? Or does that mean this is the first day you guys are admitting there’s a problem, because he’s been clear since day one (because of streamers able to play well past 10 games) that MMR wasn’t working. Did you really think your playerbase was just making it up?

Nope, I think you'll find I didn't. I think you'll also find quite a few posts where I was saying how much I struggled with the aura's due to the fact I'm colour blind and as soon as I had information that we were making a change, I posted that here.
With regards to MMR, I know it's being looked at to see where it's not working perfectly on our side and that's all the information I have right now.
Regarding the MMR this is the first time anyone has fessed up that it's not working correctly. That's all anyone was asking for, or at least a lot of us.

Hag’s rare (green) headpiece that looks like a undercut dreadlock ponytail makes her her shortest stature. You can see a lot of streamers use it on their Hag, notably Otzdarva and Hexy, regardless of the body cosmetic they choose.

I agree, MMR is a stale topic right now.
Can you please address the console problems after 4.1.0, though? It was never acknowledged so far.
Here's a direct link: BHVR, can we acknowledge fps on console is AWFUL since 4.1.0?
Fair point, but it’s not just the MMR that had gone silent. Almost two weeks now since a lot of people bought duplicate perks from the shrine and didn’t get points... multiple threads opened in the bug forum... and not a word from them.

Well, they still applied for it, no one forced them to do it - I hope! It doesn't really matter if they are emplyees or whatever.
They're the mods, they have a responsibility ;-)
Not their job, but it is a position they wanted and applied for. You don’t get the title, benefits, whatever and then when something bad happens get to say “don’t shoot the messenger.”
You see people like this all the time in the real word too, taking credit for good things or being thrilled to give good news then when it hits the fan they’re like “not my fault.” yes I realize DBD at the end of the day is just a game.

"The point is that petty, frustrating crap like this is exactly where the work of choosing is gonna come in. Because the traffic jams and crowded aisles and long checkout lines give me time to think, and if I don’t make a conscious decision about how to think and what to pay attention to, I’m gonna be pissed and miserable every time I have to shop. Because my natural default setting is the certainty that situations like this are really all about me. About MY hungriness and MY fatigue and MY desire to just get home, and it’s going to seem for all the world like everybody else is just in my way."

Developments and moderation isn't so much about shutting up your staff or gag orders. It's about making sure everyone has the right story, and that not too much is said. This is just the nature of development. Right now the goal seems to have been to start by defending the changes a bit, and then watching to see how things turn out after a bit of time. If things continue to be highly disliked by the community over an extended period of time, then THAT is when we may see a developer intervention to make some adjustments. But as of now, it's for the best for everyone to just be patient and play. There are bound to be some issues with the matchmaking from the start, but these SHOULD be sacrifices in the short term for the betterment of long term matchmaking once the system can better calculate where you stand. We'll have to wait and see, though. As for Roobnus, the same concept applies. Developers often remain silent because everything in game development is subject to extreme change. If players come to expect one thing but receive another, it's only cause for further unrest.
What is this “bit of time,” people keep using as an excuse? The mods and devs themselves said approximately 10 games to get balanced... and if you don’t wanna believe me that I’ve played more than that then watch a streamer who plays literally hours every day, yet still gets paired against cleverly new players who are still showing rank 19 with like 1 perk.

We have been running smaller tests of the system on select Xbox One regions for the past few weeks, and the results have been encouraging. The rollout on all Xbox One regions is the next step in testing the system on a wider audience. If all goes well, we are planning on rolling out this feature for all platforms in a couple of weeks.
The next phase that you will notice goes live with the upcoming mid-chapter update: We are no longer allowing Killers to switch their character while searching for a match, or once in a lobby (excluding Custom Matches). This will allow the new Matchmaking System to track player skill with each killer individually and match them against more appropriately skilled opponents based on their killer selection.
To put it simply: If you are great with The Oni but you struggle with The Nurse, you will now be playing against stronger survivors when you play The Oni than you do with The Nurse.
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?
The most obvious thing you will see when the new system is active is that there will be a greater variation of Ranks in a single match. Rank 1s playing Rank 20s? It’s possible, don’t panic when you see this, as Ranks are not a true indicator of a player’s skill and are no longer used for matchmaking.
Additionally, this system comes with a revamped algorithm for matchmaking as a whole. This should improve wait times for finding matches, and we will continue to tweak this part of the system to improve them further over the coming months.
WHY REPLACE RANKS?
Ranks are not a great way of figuring out how good a player is at the game, because it primarily focuses on “How often you play” and not on “How skilled you are when you play”. Based on our matchmaking studies, there are a great deal of “low” ranked players (15-20) who can easily play just as well as “high” ranked players (1-5), but they simply don’t play enough games in a month to increase their rank before they reset on the 13th. And as an inverse, there are Rank 1 -5 players who perform at levels more typical of lower ranks but they play so many games that their rank is higher than expected. This results in unpredictable games: All five players may have the exact same rank but wildly different skill levels in practice, making matches unbalanced.
HOW ARE RATINGS BETTER?
The new Rating system is focused on measuring a player’s skill and predicting how they will perform against a given opponent. This way we can build matches that are more objectively fair for everyone in the game. We have analyzed over 3 million games (at last count) during our tests, and the matchmaking system is proving to be extremely accurate at predicting the outcomes of matches.
By using this new system, we will be able to place players into more balanced matches more often. When a match is unbalanced, the system will know exactly how unbalanced it is and adjust the player Ratings accordingly.
WHY ARE THERE STILL RANKS?
Matchmaking has been and continues to be one of the hottest topics we hear about, and we have been listening! To get this implemented as quickly as possible, we have decided to roll it out independent of a rework of the Rank system. That doesn’t mean we don’t have plans for Ranks, however! We are exploring different ideas like turning them into a monthly activity tracker and reward system, when we are ready, we’ll communicate more about that
you should read it:) proves your wrong
What part proves we are wrong? They have said over and over approximately 10 games to reach the point of matchmaking making sense, I love how people choose to use post to show why BHVR is correct but refuse to look at the other MOD QUOTES that show they're wrong.

So far I have only had 1 game even close to what I have would consider potatoes I repeat 1 game out of 20 with a variety of killers I never use and the survivors where a 5,7, 13, and a 16. I politely took the time to carry them all to the basement and completed that old hook 4 in basement challenge in rift 1. Was not here for it back then and now only challenge left hook 6 in traps in one trial.
Your experience shows that it ISNT working... if you've never played the killers you SHOULD be getting potatoes. Thanks for confirming.

I hope so. Maybe it is broken an thinks those are my mains lol I have not played any games with my mains since it started but I work all day and only play during the week from 5pm to 9:30pm eastern maybe Its the time im playing and some other variables. Those characters are level 50 but don't have all perks nor experience so i'll give it time. Now if I play with my Freddy or Hag and get potatoes all the time then I'll think it's broken and flip flopped.
I just flat out don't think it's working. I'll tell you about my experience with a few killers and you tell me what you think.
Pyramid Head, the killer I've been playing the most since his release and have been doing pretty well with honestly usually 3-4 kills and even against pretty good red squads I get 2 kills. Played about 20 games so far and they've been against potatoes. I really do feel bad but I stopped giving hatch to help speed up the process.
Clown, I've played a lot since the changes to his bottle throw slowdown so I'm sure I've gotten way more than enough games during the time frame but I still get potato teams as him as well.
Spirit, I haven't played her since the Rift had her challenges lol but back when i did player her... I mean it's Spirit lol so I had a lot of 4k games. With her despite not playing her in this supposed window I played her twice and got matched up with straight Red Ranks, so they ended up being fair despite not being "accurate," according to their description how it would work.

PS I don’t agree with Dc or first hook deaths but your logic is weird

Don’t worry too much it gets better the more you play.Eventually you’ll be in the right area you truly belong to.
But WHY, even if that is true and working which I don't think it is?
The game shouldn't need 10 matches or whatever it is to determine this is NOT... A... FAIR... MATCHMAKING
You don't start someone against red ranks and then move them down if they suck, you start them against other 20s and move them uyp if they're good.

Right, I wouldn't be that upset. I mean I'll always be disappointing if we don't get close to fair games but meh at this point I can accept just trying to have fun with whatever.

The only thing MMR has done was fix survivor queue times.
Do you remember that triangle where the devs showed the significance of a problem queue times were the most important. Next to balanced matches and I forget the third one.
MMR is just faster survivor queues, go back a year or so and look at their triangle example.

Honestly i feel the developers are just straight up either
A.) Scared to admit this system didn't track our progress over the past months as lets be honest it 100% didn't
B.) They are sitting back hoping for a miracle and that the system can somehow pull it back and start working correctly.
It could be both at this point.
Look, I know we all want "fair games," somewhat quickly, with decent PING right??? But if the Devs would just admit, "hey we can't figure this out so we're just going to do totally random matchmaking, basically first come first serve," I would respect that honesty a whole lot more than this rubbish they've been trying to push.

I think that's pretty special.
It's not happened a lot - but when it does you remember how kind people can be.
ive tried checking hours played so if it’s a “hopeless killer,” I can maybe spend more time screwing around to give them more time in game. But lots of people are private in steam

Are we sure it was a lie, I mean at least by almo? Maybe that's what they were told? Maybe that's really what they think happen but their programming doesn't work... SHOCKER!!!
But yes, regardless of whether it was an outright lie, inaccurate, untested, bugged, whatever it is clearly not working. I know, I know, we'll have the few random people coming in to swear it worked for them after exactly 10 games. But watch streamers who play for literally hours a day, watch the games Tofu gets as killer he is absolutely mauling survivors because they never look back, don't know the basics of looping, etc.

My 1200 hours of play time sure differs from what most in here claim they stay at the gate for.
When I play survivor and I’m hooked for the first time after all gens are completed, I usually see all of the remaining survivors crouch in the gate area and wait for the killer to come chase them out. They usually have plenty of time to leave and split up to come save me, but don’t. They also don’t stay and give the killer an extra hit, they just run out as soon as the killer is in sight.
When I play killer and I head to the gate to chase them out, they usually wait till I get a few steps away and then run out without letting me get a hit.
Either way, I would rather they just leave than watch them stand there doing nothing while I hang on a hook or just to taunt me that I didn’t kill them.

It’s almost like different people can have a different experience playing this game. I’m also not saying this is the case, it may be just luck, but if NOONE is letting you have free hits and is teabagging you on the way out it may have something to do with you.
There is no right or wrong way to play killer, but if you’re camping, tunneling, etc then I know a lot of survivors will take that one last chance to rub it in.
Meanwhile I try for 12 hook games as killer, I leave hook unless someone comes for an immediate rescue in my face, I don’t use broken addons, and I don’t tunnel. Even games I get stomped by full red SWF they all stand at the exit and point signalljng they want me to hit them and I thank them in endgame

If bubba is camping stay tf away from the hook imo cause like you said there is no counter to it. and btw there is no wrong or right way to play the game. nothing in the rules says the killer HAS to leave the hook.
These are actually the only situations I get called a camper and it makes me laugh so hard. As I’m carrying Dwight to the hook I see a Claudette, immediately after hooking him I see her trying to hide behind a rock and make the save when I leave, I also see a wild Meg running in to make the save so I chase her off and she proceeds to loop me AROUND THE HOOK... now I literally am pressuring 3 survuvors at once why would I leave???

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/179624/why-stay-at-the-gate-just-a-rant
There are three reasons I stay at the gate:
- Teammate is still in and might be in trouble.
- The killer was having fun with us - so I stay to let them get a hit in as a thank you.
- The killer worked really really hard with zero to show for efforts (often after the game I see it was a mismatch) and I want them to get some points too so I will either let them bash me. The odd time - I'll even stay so they can hook me - but that's rarer.
I don't teabag or anything. Teammates that do annoy me as I think that's disrespectful to the other player. I tend to avoid those kind of jerks in future games where I can.
I think the most annoying thing as solo survivor is when we all are together to open the gate safely so I leave and then 1-2 of the others stick around to teabag or stare at the killer who clearly wants them to leave. I’d like to say gg and apologize for poor matchmaking in chat but I’m not waiting two minutes to do so

As far as I knew it was to make sure everyone gets out that can and to also give some points to the killer. Is one thing if they are lined up flash lighting you but if not, just slap them out the game and take the extra blood points. Everything doesn't need to be taken so personal. It's a game after all
Because now everything has to be considering toxic, sweaty, BM, whatever you wanna call it.
Now, if they’re standing at the gate and as soon as you get close they dead hard out the door they were being toxic. But if they’re standing there pointing and let you hit them it’s just being nice.

I let the killer get a free hit for points, if everyone does that it’s like 2000 extra I think? If you had BBQ maybe 4000!!! As a killer I appreciate this, not sure why so many think it’s automatically BM or taunting.
Ive even managed to finish some dailies with killers I don’t play, cough Nurse cough, because the survivors let me get hits after routing me.

There's a reason killers that can easily snowball are the top tier killers in this game. Pre dropping pallets and holding shift w, regardless of how bad you are, is more than enough to beat even one of the best killers on a weaker killer, if that killer plays "fair". And if that's what the game is like against bad players, you can imagine how difficult it is against actual good survivors of equal skill to the killer. And I say 'weaker' killers because the devs and their statistics would tell you a low tier killer is actually A tier 'statistically'
But nothing gets done about it. How could you expect this game to have any semblance of balance when you make some maps the size of Africa and some maps actual decently sized, then toss in the RNG of completely broken tiles as well? Did you know that some maps have so many pallets that it doesn't matter if you pre throw?

Mentioning hours/ranks is fair and fine. I firmly believe those two help determine skill. The thing with determining skill today is difficult due to the new rank reset that only lowers you down one color rank instead of two colors (which helped flush out those that don't play vs. those that play more and gain experience) , getting carried by SWF aka boosted, heavily relying on second chance perks, or getting lucky hatch.
MMR will never work, or doesn't exist. When BHVR opened matching making, red ranks would dodge green and gold ranks so BHVR removes seeing ranks in lobbies then say rank doesn't mean skill. Then this whole "MMR" thing comes out. They say play at least play 15 games on one killer to settle in that killer... I've played well over 30 Oni games and still get baby survivors. "If you've played killer already the killer will have a default MMR that matches the killer." Still not the case. The game was the most balanced when rank matching and old rank reset was still a thing.
wayyyyyyy too many variables for MMR to work, heck too many variables for balanced games.
Twenty killers so far, some of which perform better or worse on certain map types indoor/outdoor/large/multi level etc
Close to 100, or maybe 80??? Perks for each side some of which work better against some killers than the others, again some which work on some maps better than others.
And each map itself is RNG on top of RNG on top of RNG

This works because most maps are too huge and have too safe zones. Survivors can afford camping and pre-droping pallets because if the killers starts breaking them all he will probably lose all gens. The Jake in the first game was very smart, because the moment the killer starts turning up the tables on the game is when he has his first down, and the more you delay this moment, the better. I've seen people who prefer going down than "wasting" the shack pallet at 5 gens and they really don't know how bad this is. Also, forcing the killer to break pallets prevents cheap bloodlust downs.
Yeah the whole wasting pallets, even shack pallet is servile notion. I would argue the only wasted pallet is if you are almost to one, eat a hit and THEN drop it anyways.
Grest point about the first down, that’s where the killer starts the cycle of hook, chase one whole another saves, repeat which if done properly means only 1 survivor is ever on a gen from that point

"never applied pressure to the other"
->all survivor injured in 2 minutes
->match over in 7 minutes without heals
->still doesn't tunnel
->still forced in a 2k because UB/DS
->one survivor wastes 10 pallets and still can't get punished
"Lol he is so average, I would have done so much better!"

Just because it's the survivor objective to hold down a button, doesn't mean gen rush doesn't exist. Gen rush is something that exists whether you believe it to be or not. I'm not gonna go an throw out whether you play killer or not, but I can tell it's not often.
Also how is he supposed to apply pressure when he's chasing someone already? He has to down them, take them to a hook, and travel (legion doesn't have much traversal speed) to another survivor that's most likely sitting on a gen on the opposite side of the map. He can't be everywhere at once. If you say he's an average killer you're either trolling or you're the type to rely on second chance perks and call it "skill".
I don’t think Voice meant it that way from his follow up post. In the end maybe I shouldn’t have used an Otz video or mentioned hours/ranks at all in my original post.
My point is if that chase is considered “skillful,” by thr first survivor then you are going to have some AWFUL players in high MMR games and their teammates are gonna pay for it. Solo survivor is about to get super difficult I think.

When I initially commented, I was already a bit pissed off so it wasn't a fair judgement. It could be that they do base pallet drops as part of it and add more points for an actual slam. It too, could be how long the chase was over skillful evades or all of it might be taken in account for an overall score but if that's the case, it would take ages to get a decent MMR O.o Humans are strange creatures.
We do stuff that isn't always rational. Like going for an unhook while NOED is active. Best to leave but I like to do my best as a teammate. Do I get punished for rescuing but dying still? If just dropping a pallet gives you points while in a chase, leveling your MMR will be too easy and could be why we get a lot of low levels.
Its hard to say, because I mean if you look at the results his strategy was actual pretty effective right? If you wait to drop at the last second and get cucked by dedicated servers that would stink so sometimes dropping early feels necessary.
And your rescue scenario is another good one, I’m like you I would prefer to save my teammate with BT if possible and take the hook/death myself but I wonder if they will hurt my MMR in the long run?

Depends on how the MMR works. If survivor 1 loops the killer for 2 min by dropping every pallet and running then survivor 2 loops the killer for 1 min without any pallets, who has the higher MMR?

That’s why I don’t think MMR works for this game.
To give another example if I am totally unaware and let Myers stalk to 99% of level 3 then he leaves and uses that ton instantly down my teammate am I “more skillful,” because I didn’t actually go down? Anyone who has played knows that’s ludicrous.
And against plague if inconstant cleanse the very instant I get even 1% sickness to keep myself healthy then why should my teammates be punished for being downed by a plague with 5 corrupt fountains to work with?

Ye ever since Scottjunds Videos the word has gotten around just how powerful holding W can be.
Yep, I’ve done it for a while I mean I got to red ranks (I know ranks don’t matter but still just as a reference) just by doing maybe 1-2 loops and then dropping, waiting for the break and running away. being honest I don’t belong in the top levels of the MMR, but somewhere around just above average.
Of course the whole thing relies on your teammates actually doing gens and not crouching behind a bush for two minutes while you get chased... ah the life of solo survivor.
@Crowman said:
It's really all survivors need to do to win. Run 2nd chance perks, do gens when not being chased, throw pallets and waste the killer's time for as long as possible while everyone else does gens.
On newer maps this doesn't really work because there's a lot more unsafe pallets that killers can punish, but that doesn't mean there aren't ways to waste a killer's time.
Yup, I still think most maps still have enough to work with that you can waste enough time IF IF IF IF your teammates just stays on gens

Gen rush doesn't exist. He chased too long and never applied pressure to the others. Hell, they never even healed xD Not as great as everyone seems to make him out to be. He seems average. Second video, he gets 1 kill.
Not sure if you’ve watched more, he’s pretty solid but he experiments a lot. But this isn’t really about how good he is or isn’t. Maybe I shouldn’t have said the hours but I was making a point that it was an all red rank game.
Im curious if what he did during that chase is considered skillful by the new MMR system? Is pre dropping every single pallet and leading a 3 minute chase skillful? Or is leading the killer in a 90 second chase using just mind games and windows more skillful?

@KillScreen said:
That proves nothing. 3000 hours don't mean skill and otz doesn't use meta perks on killers.
What meta perks would have changed the pallet situation? If anything the fact that he ran Brutal benefited him... Ruin wouldn’t help here because of the chase the other three coups have kept on gens. Even the old sporty fury/enduring combo wouldn’t have mattered to end the chase because he dropped them so early.

Well, it´s been said time and again on here - time spent playing does not directly translate into skill.
I watch Otz quite a lot since he´s my favorite DBD streamer. Sadly, in this particular match he didnt quite live up to his peak performance imho.
After the match he is stating the obvious: There is no way to guarantee a 4k every match, especially with Legion. Some games u just get unlucky spawns and tile placements, or make a not so optimal decision on the fly.
I feel you though. The way these Survivors played, the outcome feels a little bit undeserved. Nothing one can do about it though.
Yeah I don’t mean to imply Otz is the best, but he’s obviously pretty good as killer. Granted playing a weaker killer with meh addons as well. The main thing I wanted to talk about was how much of the killers time you can waste just by tossing pallets and holding W

I agree, we need an response regarding this. It seems like silence is the solution for everything in this game :/
Like seriously it wasn’t just one person at least 10 threads got open the first night So even if they can’t figure out a fix mention it would be nice... dare I say even professional

I'm guessing you bought a perk that you already had and never got the BPs for it?
We bought 4 got 150 instead of 600k

I mean unless you grind the heck out of the game you won't complete the rift with ONLY the challenges and some trials here and there.
I played so much in the last tome to achieve 70 I took a two week break because I was disgusted at the end.

i do but i at least play everyday but not all day.
That's odd I achieve it just by doing the challenges and playing an hour or two here or there with maybe a couple long grind sessions during the rift. Maybe people aren't completing it because they DC against "unfair killers," or SWF death squads and give up that XP.

They should've used Rank to heavily weight MMR until a threshold of information was reached. They really need to do that to help keep baby killers and newbie survivors from the jaws of veterans.
Yep, even though they aren’t perfect indicators current rank and/or hours played could have been used to give everyone a starter point and it would shake out from there

So, for someone who only plays around 10 matches in a week because I only play video games one, maybe two nights a week, it could take close to a month for my MMR to settle? And that is just for survivor or one killer? And that is if, on that night or nights, I only play DbD and not Overwatch or WoW?
######### that, pass.
The separate killer is what’s probably really throwing things for a loop... it’s good in theory but like you most people don’t get to play hours and hours day after day.
I might not pick up Doctor or Demo for days or week... but I’m decent enough that when I do play them I’ll be wrecking the lowBird I’m matched against

Actually that one might be a close match. Two top tier players plus a mid tier player could possibly beat a mid-tier killer in a 3 on 1 game.
I think it’s amazingly unfair if the killer finds either of the 1s and doesn’t give up chase immediately.
