Survivors can gen tap and it stops the regression, at least give a small regression boost per kick.

I’ve been asking for this, lots have, for years just a little bit of instant regression maybe even toss it into Brutal if you don’t wanna make it base

  • Plague didn’t really cause anyone to drop adrenaline out of their builds. So I’m guessing no

  • @Poweas said:

Why? Why on earth do you kill your team by doing that? I just had a Dwight single-handedly lose us an easy game because he kept cleansing. This Plague literally had her ability all game and could end chases in about 20 seconds. He killed another Dwight by cleansing in one spot, and killed me by cleansing in various different spots around the map.

Why on earth do you guys like to cleanse? If there's actually a good reason I might start doing it. But if you guys literally do it to get OnE eXtRa HeAlTh StAtE I will never understand.

I have people doing it INSTANTLY on my team, like they don’t e en get broken but they touch an infected gen and run off to cleanse

I think I will start hopping into random DbD streams/VoDs and looking to see if everyone's actually experiencing the same thing

See, the problem I'm already having with this is that 1. there aren't a lot of killer streamers these days and 2. a lot of the killer streamers are super loud and it's hard to focus on and analyze the actual game audio.

Are you primarily a survivor player or killer player? And do you have any pure gameplay videos that could be broken down by the community?

Why do you need to see more videos of No sound? It’s not happening to everyone or every game, no one is claiming that. But there’s video evidence that it is happening at all and that should be enough.

I disagree because I think there's multiple issues with how sounds work in this game now. I think there's an audio prioritization issue, where things like footsteps, grass, dropdown noises, and even injury sounds don't play for some people. But I also think that there's another issue with LOS blockers that sometimes completely blocks sounds but other times just muffles them. "Audio occlusion" is what they love to call it. I just call it BS that doesn't function as it should.

And then of course, chase music can often be louder than it needs to be, making both problems even more confusing. There's a lot of variables and I think people are conflating them.

The thing is we’ve complained about, but lived with, the things you’re talking about. Working a gen I can spin my camera and actually find a spot where walls block the noise of the gen I’m working on so I don’t hear it lol. I’ve dealt with that.

Sometimes it may be people blaming sound, but the fact that a bug exists that makes it so that even 1/10 survivors have ZERO SOUND is unacceptable.

  • @dbd_noob said:

I think that they don't have the resources and can react to bugs with hotfixes.

To catch all sorts of bugs it would need excessive testing which probably is not in the budget and time.

Also lots of bugs are also very specific. I encounter a bug that I have not seen somewhere else. If I have streamlabs open and play dbd, I drop to about 5fps in midwich. Probably it is my hardware or driver version or something, still, they just cannot test everything in a timely manner.

Saying you don’t have resources to fix bugs would be unacceptable for a game company. That would be like A burger place saying that 25% of their burgers are actually made of racoon meat but they sknt have the resources to find out which and still need to sell them all.

I've tried that but it still seems like it takes too long to get it ready for it to matter.

I've tried doing this a couple times to stop survs from dropping pallets and because it seems to take so long to get ready they throw the pallet anyway. Same thing with vaulting.

I'm on console so idk if that makes any difference

Not sure if it does matter, I’m on PC so I have learned that you can press m2 to start the drag and a split second later press and hold m1... as soon as the sword hit the ripple will start that may buy you the time you need

  • Yes, his ranged attack shouldn’t be your go to. Most often it is used as a fake to keep someone from dropping a pallet or vaulting a window, then they turn and you M1 them.

  • @NuclearBurrito said:

Basically, Killers catch Survivors because maps are too small to enable this and Survivors don't run as soon as you would expect

Also half the time survivor runs at me as the killer not away from me so

  • @[Deleted User] said:

Right now, with reloading being bugged, it may be best to run bottles. If you have to reload during a chase, even with the double reload speed add-ons, you're going to fall far behind really fast due to the bug.

Yeah I heard that, hmm assuming I can limit myself to only reloading after a down which would you suggest next?

  • I don’t mind waiting, what I mind is waiting AND STILL getting all red ranks as a rank 14 killer. One or the other I could take but not both

  • @GoodBoyKaru said:

I'm gonna take a guess that the bug was a lot larger than they could fix in time, especially since its gonna be right at the basics of the code which AFAIK is pretty spaghetti (even if it has been getting better recently). So they might not have been able to accurately detect the cause to create a fix in time, and with such a large outcry maybe they'll finally be able to focus full effort onto and fix it.

At least it doesn't bugger me up too badly since I'm used to being awful at tracking so I don't hear much to begin with lol.

If it’s larger than you can fix in time then you don’t release it

    I think I'd say..

    1. Huntress

    2. Deathslinger

    3. Plague

    4. Pyramid Head

    5. Clown

I think they all have their pros and cons but Huntress is best. Deathslinger is my favorite and the most fun to play IMO.

Also would you consider Demo a ranged killer? I'm conflicted on that. If he was I'd put him either above Clown or above Pyramid Head, not entirely sure.

Edited: added Plague. I think she's more versatile than PH.

I say 1. Huntress... 2. Pyramid although it’s close... 3. Clown after buff... 4 plague if you count her... 5 slinger, I’m sorry but he just has soooo much slowdown with reloads and stuns

its inexcusable really. its probably goes down somewhere along the lines of, "gotta get this new chapter out, we'll patch it out in a hotfix in 2 weeks".

This! BHVR is a slave (sorry for the term) to their own schedule. Killer every 3 months, mid chapter 6 weeks after that NO EXCEPTIONS

Good point. I just think its frustrating not being able to start a loop with him at all if they have a brain. I'm surprised people aren't complaining about clown atm though after his buff. He's basically what you described.

I have been able to mind game/loop maybe 1-2 pyramid heads but they seemed new to the killer. Against a good PH you may be right there isn’t a good counter. So far my success had come from dropping a pallet early and running, just hold W and create distance. Once he hits you once use the speed boost and create more distance

I certainly can't argue with you there. I agree that if at least one person didn't escape then most likely you had a team of potatoes. And if a player has played enough to acquire all the perks that they want, then there's little reason for them not to play scummy if they so choose. But like I said I can't think of what else can be done to dissuade facecamping. Thankfully matches aren't that long and you can be in a new one within roughly 10 minutes.

Its really weird, bloodpoints almost don’t matter for me anymore except right at new release. For example I once played a game as Iri hatchet Huntress with a mori and the survivors mocked me endgame because “you didn’t even earn back the BP you spent.” That could matter I guess if I was planning on doing that build frequently but even playing BBQ and a BP offering I can earn more than enough back in one game to get a full web down which will almost always give me another Iri and/or Ward...

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/163325/red-rank-survivors-are-such-a-mixed-bag

Considering that you can get to red rank by fighting level 18 killers, it's no surprise that the gap is large.

I feel like even before matchmaking broke it was similar. I very very rarely depip even at red ranks, unless I get caught first and tunneled/camped then I will accomplish enough to black pip or pip up. Meaning red rank is solely a matter of time, then at reset it only takes a few pips to get right back to red again. I wonder what % of survivors are currently red ranks vs what % of killers are red right now.

  • @bm33 said:

Punishing campers isn't going to do anything, they already receive a BP penalty. Instead of focusing on punishing facecamping should focus on rewarding the person being facecamped. Treat it like they were being chased and give them % gen repairs and distraction points while the killer is camping. The other survivors should focus on gens. If killer is camping give survivors safety pip rather than lose pip - if survivors are getting safety pip there would hopefully be less unsafe unhooks by the ones trying to get altruism points. If survivors are getting points, escaping, and atleast safety pip then camping will be more unappealing to killers.

Rewarding the campee is actually a great idea, it still wouldn’t be fun to hang there but if I got chase points and gen points it would at least offset it a bit.

Bro Demo literally has the exact same gameplay but way quicker and easier to pull off, yet you don't see people complaining about him. The only difference being that dropping pallets against Demo is forced in some circumstances, which you can argue is actually a plus for Demo since he gets them out of the way easier. And portals with PGTW are insane.

Like I get that people find zoning gameplay boring but PH doesn't have even close to the best ranged attack. If you're going to make it worse for zoning then you NEED to buff it some other way, like removing the aim restriction, reducing the delay, or removing the orange line on the survivor side.

It all comes down to breaking the formula. Survivors know that at this loop they can loop the killer exactly 3 times, drop the pallet and force the break. Pyramid head breaks that formula... not coincidentally this is the biggest reason survivors complain Doctor and Freddy are “boring,” because the shocks or snares break that formula.

  • @YaiPa said:

there is no solution to tunneling or camping until you change the entire game. Right now it is impossible for a killer, except thanks to survivors' mistakes, to win 12 chases. Hence, tunneling or camping are needed in certain games.

    @Thrax said:

Its when they start off doing it on the first hook with 5 gens left that makes me unhappy. my 1st 4th and 5th game was like that already today. Surely something could be done about it being done right off the bat.

Yeah, that’s the time it really stinks for one person. You get spotted first, put up a good chase but go down, and get one hooked staring at the killer for 2 minutes.

If it’s endgame and doors are 99% then there is no point for the killer to leave as anyone they chase can make it to the door most likely. Likewise if the killer is way behind like only a couple hooks so far and only 1 gen left they may at least want to secure a kill or hope an overly altruistic team lets them catch up.

It's not really guessing when it come to pyramid head. Its either you keep running passed windows/pallets or you use them and get hit. Also are you implying spirit is weak?

No, when sounds work spirit is top killer or maybe second. I’m saying people claim she’s so easy to play because all you do is stand still and it’s a “coin flip.”

Now here we go with PH being too strong because he eliminates the basic loops strategy. Adapt, or as people like to say “get good.”

  • @Alpha8512_Xbox said:

Survivors can't safely vault or use pallets, making it frustrating to get away. He can bait his attack if he taps his power making it a guessing game if you're trying to 360 or something similar. If someone is going for a yolo save, he can hit both of the survivors with the ranged attack if timed correctly (I know this is a survivors fault for doing this but a tip nonetheless). Also if Pyramid head does tunnel someone off hook, you can't body block if he uses his power. I personally think you should use his power for a certain amount of time before he can use his ranged attack, making pallets and vaults not a guaranteed hit everytime.

Here we go with the “guessing games,” man it took a bit longer for people to go to this rhetoric for spirit but I guess once you know what works to get nerfs you go back to that same wel

Being asleep also negates Borrowed Time.

Other than that his passive sleep timer is mostly ok but i think it should pause as soon as a chase starts, then it would reward players for staying awake without making freddy too weak.

The BT thing never bothered me, similar to BT agajnst Pyramid. Unless they camp, and I admit they do sometimes, it’s just about making good saves.

Too many people, and I’m not saying this is you, but too many people have come to rely on BT instead of picking a good time to save.

  • @OniWantsYourMacaroni said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1369807#Comment_1369807

The only unfair and "boring" thing about freddy is his uncounterable passive sleep timer.Doesn't matter how often you wake yourself up,you will still fall asleep without freddy having to do anything for it.It just feels really cheap and unfair on the survivor side.

I mean without that half of his powers would be useless, and besides being asleep doesn’t do anything other than making snares affect you . unless he has the minor slowdown addons.

  • @Orion said:

As a survivor main, my only issue with him is that his passive sleep cannot be countered in any way. You can dodge or get in a locker when the Doctor uses his shocks, you can dodge the Huntress's hatches and the Plague's vomit, but you will always fall asleep when Freddy is your killer. It is impossible to avoid, regardless of your skill and decisions.

On a side note, it's sad that "boring" was co-opted by certain elements in the survivor community as a thinly-veiled nerf request, because real complaints like mine are now ignored.

Hit the nail on the head here. BHVR made a statement during a couple of their changes/nerfs that they did it because the old way was unfun for survivors. Now instead of saying something is OP people call it boring hoping that brings the nerf without sounding like they’re afraid of losing

I've been using him non stop on ps4, I think in time he'll be ranked higher on the tier list. Think a lot of people try to use his ranged attack at the wrong spots which frustrates them to the point they just switch back to whom they had beforehand.

Exactly, today I’ve been playing him 90% as an M1 killer Just relying on the threat of range to make people run sideways and slower.

  • @Quol said:

I use my well established killers to earn bloodpoints to get him perks, after I can make a basic build that includes tier 3 BBQ then I will switch over to PH.

  • @Alice_pbg said:

Why, according to half the forums killers are a free 4k

    @Mattie_MayhemOG said:

Makes sense. Alot of new players with the chapter being licensed and the combination of not having enough BP to get the best perks and being crushed by survivor teams who can frustrate even experienced killers made them quit as fast as they joined.

I mentioned this is a post a while back, all these new players being drawn in and anyone trying to play PH at rank 20, with no perks is still getting matched up against at least 1 red rank survivor if not more every match. If I was new I would get frustrated really quick.

I hope I see him less 😂 I'm finding chases unfun and the level of camping I've faced from him is way too high.

I feel like someone said, “wow his cages are good for tunneling,” and all the camping tunneling killed heard was “here is your new main!”

  • Solid guide, I think he’s pretty low on the “tiers,” though. Most likely someone who 4ks as him could 4k as almost any killer

  • It’s kind of sad, some of the designs are amazing but like you said rarely looked and hard to see.

Killer wasn’t holding the game hostage, he was being a scumbag but no he wasn’t holding the game hostage. The rest of the team could have pushed gens and left especially considering gens already got done before this “trapping grieving,” even started

They have also openly said this is not an ideal play style, that they're looking for ways to make it less desirable, and no...face campers are not punished. They're BP is typically fine and they clearly dont care about depipping. Why would they? They'll get matched with even easier targets.

The only way a face camper gets even decent points if the rest of the team starts throwing themselves in to make saves and starts doing 1 for 1.

If you just hammer gens and leave the campers get like 7k plus max one BBQ for about 10k points whereas even “losing,” a normal game as killer I get 20k+ plus 4 stacks of BBQ so I get 40-60k a game

That’s what I mean, even when they do acknowledge it they won’t give any time they’ll just say they are aware it’s beyond frustrating

  • Acknowledge, say they’re aware and they’re working on it... that is the usually BHVR way

  • Any reason? I mean the new killer is out I guess you could save them to turn in next Tuesday for the event bloodwebs? They will automatically cash in prior to the next killer and next rift.

Pipe dream time, because I don’t trhjnk BHVR wants Harry Potter it doesn’t fit. Also I don’t think they would dish out enough money.
