  • DS got a nerf a few patches ago & survivor's movement isn't as free flowing as it used to be, making moving unpredictably a bit more difficult

Those are the only things I could really think of in terms of survivor play

As for killers the past few that have been released have been weaker/buggy. Ruin was also reworked a while ago (I'm not sure when you took a break).

    Those are the major things

  • David needs casual outfits and decent headpieces

  • I actually like the last idea you had and I never heard it mentioned before. Body blocking griefing is probably the most abusable form. I would say if a killer stands still for more than like 25 seconds or something they should lose collision as well.

But you're literally using BHVRs stats to try and back that plague is "bad". And I'm using very good examples to back that BHVRs stats mean nothing

I never said plague is bad lol I said she has a low kill and pick rate, which she does. I never played against a plague in red ranks until this month is probably over a year. Her gameplay is clunky and the devs gave the survivors wayyyy too much control of her power.

If you want to use otz as an example of using her, also use the fact that otz said it was one of the most difficult and frustrating streaks to do. Plague is underperforming, it's a given fact.

Another thing to add to it is that pallet stuns SHOULD NOT REMOVE CORRUPT PURGE!

Survivors already dictate if she can get more then one of them per game; In two ways mind you by either not cleansing or cleansing in areas that the plague can't realistically reach without losing the game.

So why can they also strip her of it after they have finally given it to her?

Oh absolutely. I totally forgot about this. I think this was just a fail safe that the devs implemented last second thinking she wouldn't have counterplay. I hope they remove the corrupt purge stun mechanic.

Like huntress doesnt just drop all of her hatchets when shes stunned.

  • @BrokenSouI said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2175981#Comment_2175981

Frankly. Otz getting so many wins with her. Has more validity then BHVR stats. We all know BHVR stats are very misleading. If that was the case. Nurse needs to be buffed. And Freddy was "over achieving" even though any good survivor dealt with him just fine. And knew he was always about High B tier

Everyone knows why nurse has a low kill rate, it isnt a surprise that people try to learn her and dont get any kills because of how hard she is. Also theres no point mentioning nurse and freddys performance on a post about plague. Plague isn't on the same level as nurse in terms of difficulty to learn. I think shes missing a lot of quality of life features that are offputting for people to play her.

  • I agree 100%. Plague is very balanced but shes underperforming due to bugs and lack of quality of life changes. She has always been my favorite killer since she was released but she is so frustrating to play because she doesn't feel polished and her power is in survivors hands.

It should take survivors a while longer to cleanse themselves.

Her FOV needs raised because she is very tall.

She needs her hitboxes readjusted to feel more accurate.

Her corrupt purge should probably project a bit further, survivors dont seem to be threatened by her collecting corrupt at all.

It's just some small balancing tweaks that she is lacking overall.

  • @BrokenSouI said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/248755/idea-for-buff-the-plague

If you say so lol. Plague is in a very good spot atm.

Never knew a weak killer was capable of getting otz over 100 wins in a row with her.

Otz doesn't speak for every person, his accomplishments don't represent the overall performance of something.

The stats the devs released a while ago showed plague had a low kill and pick rate, so something about her should probably be adjusted. Generally I think shes very balanced but there are a lot of offputting things about her.

The fact that survivors control her power without any downside is a bit rough. Some of her add ons for her corrupt purge should probably be basekit to punish survivors for cleansing.

  • Plague is lacking severe quality of life features in my honest opinion... she has a lot of bugs and her range/projectile speed is incredibly short and slow to that of the other ranged killers

  • @[Deleted User] said:

I was under the impression her point of view is pretty high up?

It was a noticeable difference after playing the Trickster for a bit... Does anyone have evidence of the camera between her lovelies?

I'm a ghostface main and I've been playing plague a bit lately and they share the same FOV. I know hag has a shorter FOV but I dont think taller killers have a taller FOV for some reason. For example, her head sticks over a ton of loops but you cant see over them. It's a very awkward thing I've noticed while playing her

  • I think he should be able to deactivate stealth without swinging on his own.

He also lacks mobility which is what loses a lot of games for him. He has no built in slow down. His map pressure comes from people not knowing where he is but if it's a SWF he immediately loses half his power.

  • You will absolutely lose almost every game you play starting as nurse because her gameplay is a complex one to learn. Her power is also very unforgiving and punishing if you make a mistake, don't beat yourself up too much over it. (It's part of learning her, high risk-high reward)

My best advice is to practice nurse on a smurf account or wait until rank reset because you won't really get a chance to practice her mechanics at higher ranks, where gens will FLY because you aren't able to keep constant pressure.

  • I know, it was an example

There was a bug where if you blinded a legion the moment they swung at you while in frenzy you got insta downed. The pallet tech is still here as far as i know

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2161029#Comment_2161029

It can't really be a detriment cause all you have to do is just look down like you would normally and all the flasher is doing then is making it easy for the Legion cause they are not making distance.

You will not blind a competent Legion out of their power unless they want it

    Okay

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/247238/is-being-able-to-burn-legion-out-of-their-power-intentional-or-a-glitch

Being Blinded out of Frenzy? Intentional.

The Legion tech? Unintentional but they don't care.

I've never done the pallet tech but I think it's somewhat situational and it's much more avoidable compared to other killer techs that are much more unfair (fatigue cancel as nurse, j flick as blight).

  • I thought it may have been unintentional aswell because lore-wise only killers like wraith and nurse are burnable (although I know it's an outdated mechanic, I was just confused for the sake of lore). But i guess since legion doesnt get stunned it's not the same.

  • @Sonzaishinai said:

Intentional and actually a benifit for Legion.

Let's just say to never try to blind a Legion at a pallet if you think they have their power

It can be a benefit or a detriment. I've blinded them while running at 3 healthy people on 1 generator and it allowed my team to make distance without giving him 3 free injures

  • It's been basically confirmed that were getting pride charms in June but I dont think it's part of an event because we're getting resident evil and a left 4 dead event. But I would be so down for any shirt with a pride logo or a bracelet would be so cute!

    Credit to @leaksbydaylight on instagram/twitter

  • I noticed this too, I think if you were to compare two killers you would need to keep things as consistent as possible between the 2 games. They also swapped one of the SWF members out for someone different. It just creates a lot of variables that makes it less of a comparison between 2 killers.

Not to intrude into the heated discussion happening here but I got to ask. What skillful action do you do exactly to counter huntress ?

Her biggest counter is to abuse high wall loops that you tight loop so that her wind up doesn't allow her to throw at you, basically you use loops that favor you because low wall loops are free hit for her just like slinger. Not much all that different skilful interaction there, you just force M1 or make a 50/50 guess at pallet if she's going to throw.

If you're in the open or just a bit out of position so that she has time to throw, she's much harder to dodge as good huntress who know how large the hatchet hitboxes are won't miss you right, that's just her missing, not you dodging. At least I never see any survivors actually dodging mid thrown hatchet without predicting good huntresse's shot before it's thrown.

The biggest difference between these two in terms of chase counterplay is literally that slinger has more chances to shoot and outplay even the high wall loops thanks to the fast ADS forcing more predictions then huntress does. You do the same vs both, stay out of loops that favor them and gain as much distance as possible while prediction their shots.

Huntress you can punish for pulling up at every loop. Deathslinger can fake hit power at every single tile and gains distance because of it. Huntress is significantly slowed

  • @SpaghettiYOLO said:

Reading through this is laughable and shows how many only play survivor. But I'm willing to bet those complaining about not fun are the same types to be on a toxic gen rush squad and play heavy survivor sided maps. Like seriously, both sides have tools and playstyles that are less than desirable.

Do yourselves a favor and stop trying to loop and mind game every killer the exact same. It will not work.

Ah and I bet you're the same person who thinks it takes skill to fake using a power in order to get a free hit. Deathslinger is not loopable unless you're staying at a main building and abusing the same window vaults that he has no line of sight shots on.

  • @BuddhaBing said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2146792#Comment_2146792

If you want to twist my words, sure. I could also say that by your logic anything that hasn't been changed is just lower priority. Literally anything that hasn't been reworked is just waiting for it's spot in the priority list.

How has the feedback been loud and clear? I've seen more threads complaining about dead hard than deathslinger and I don't think that needs changing either. People will whine. If it becomes a community-wide outcry like with moris then that means there should possibily be a change. An occasional complaint thread isn't 'loud and clear' feedback, it's just whining.

I don't necessarily think that he NEEDS the ability to zone, but I also don't think it's an issue and if changed would probably make him feel more awkward to play like overheating did for billy.

The cons of changing him could be massive. The pros of changing him means a few people will be happy until they find the next killer to complain about. It's a lose-lose situation if he's changed.

It's not a matter of "complaining" about a killer and begging for them to be nerfed, it's the fact that slingers power is poorly designed and quite honestly unfair in 1v1. The argument "but he lacks map pressure" is all the more reason he needs a rework. He needs map pressure. He needs counterplay other than hoping he commits to his shot and misses it.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2145648#Comment_2145648

His ability does not become unusable. You just have to use it in a smaller subset of situations, like every other ranged killer.

Either give him a much longer ADS, some sort of Huntress-esque charge mechanic, or both, and give him a PH/Huntress-style M1 cooldown after ADSing to go with it. In exchange, allow him to use his gun as a grappling hook for added mobility. Imagine, you can pull yourself up to the second floor of a Haddonfield house, you can jump right up to the second floor of the Saloon, etc. If he's still too weak or not getting enough mileage out of the grapple, buff his reload time so there's less of a downside to using it. You could of course buff him in any number of other ways, though; the point is, it's not like he automatically becomes useless if he can't zone. He just needs to have other changes to his kit.

Dynamic map generation per killer would be cool but it seems like an unreasonable amount of work.

I agree 110% with absolutely everything that you've said. Deathslinger needs FIXED not NERFED

  • You're just saying nonsense at this point. I know that I'm right about deathslinger because OLD pyramid head had the EXACT same power and he got adjusted. Now pyramid heads judgement is balanced because you have to make predictions instead of faking your power. Deathslinger, again, does not. You can fake your shot and get a hit either way. That's not fair.

  • @Haddix said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2145863#Comment_2145863

didn't you just say rat liver should be basekit?

I'd personally like it to be, but rat liver is used most for zoning and faking your power. that's an inconsistent argument.

why do you want rat liver base? because bronx said he wants it base?

I dont watch bronx but I mentioned him because he's good with demo and showcases his potential. Just like nurse... you cant just pick her up and be a god, it takes time and skill. That's why demo is balanced, rat liver or not. It has counterplay, it has mindgame potential. Spirit, old PH and Slinger do not. You get to a T&L and it's either vault and get shot or dont vault and get m1'd. You can try to make distance but he can just fake his gun and if you maneuver he gains distance because he is still faster than you.

And I dont know why everyone who is responding is acting like I want deathslinger gutted and nerfed to oblivion because I never said that. I want him to be reworked, made stronger where he needs it and balanced where needed.

You cannot tell me that a killer who gets free hits for doing nothing is balanced. It's the reason he's frustrating to play against. Pyramid head was changed for a reason and death slinger has the same problem that needs addressed.

  • @woundcowboy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2145853#Comment_2145853

I’m sure he is your favorite to play against.... he is bad. I don’t care about streamers playing him. Most streamers can 4k consistently with any killer because the majority of survivors are bad at the game.

Nurse and Oni are also at the top of my list to play against and they're strong. It has nothing to do with their performance level. It has to do with their skill ceiling. Deathslinger takes no skill because he can feign his power and win chases because of it. And Demo is not bad, just because you're not good with him it doesn't make him a bad killer.

  • @MadLordJack said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2145829#Comment_2145829

And what happens if the Slinger just walks a little closer instead of taking an insanely risky shot for no good reason?

I don't know why it is so hard for people to grasp the fact that faking power does not equal a deserved hit. It's the problem with spirit, it's the problem with slinger and it's the problem that pyramid head used to face. It's unbalanced.

  • @woundcowboy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2145704#Comment_2145704

Nailed what? Demo is one of the worst killers in the game. You seriously want DS to be at that level?

Demos shred is not weak, beyond needing the rat liver base kit. The reason deathslinger is better than demo is because his power has 0 counterplay where demos is actually balanced. If you watch someone like bronx who has taken the time to put hours into demo and mastered his shred, he is a force to be reckoned with. Whereas deathslinger, you can play him and get more value than demo because he has no chase counterplay.

In fact, demo is one of my favorite killers to play against because he's fair. He gets hits when he deserves them. Deathslinger gets hits for no reason.

  • Everyone who says that his power is balanced is wrong because the devs themselves changed pyramid heads power which did the EXACT same thing; free zoning just because they faked their power. It's either vault and get hit, or don't vault and get hit. It's not interactive, it's not fun, and there is no real counterplay other than losing line of sight against a killer who is still faster than you and can gain distance by faking their power.

  • @MadLordJack said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2145648#Comment_2145648

I'm gonna be honest, I'm all but certain that if they just copy/pasted Demogorgons windup/aim speed, times and aim sensitivity then Slinger would be much better to face and still just as dangerous.

Exactly, that's the thing, Demogorgon is just a balanced version of Deathslinger and what Pyramid Head used to be. It's so weird that they couldn't have made different powers for Deathslinger considering they already nailed it the first time with Demo.

  • @MeltingPenguins said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2145670#Comment_2145670

I think you cant rework his power without reworking his entire lore, which, no.

What could work to make him more fun to go against would be barring him from the crutchperks so many red ranks insist you MUST use on him:

    stbfl and M&A.

Like, i do get a lot of positive feedback from red rank survivors (whenever the matchmaking goes 'screw it' again and puts them in my lobby) for my build, saying that I'm much more fun to go against than other slingers, BECAUSE i don't run those perks.

    so... yeah.

I don't want his power changed to something else completely but every aspect of his power needs looked at and adjusted to make him more fair for survivors and stronger for killers. They could add a grappling hook to his gun for mobility.

It's like when Overwatch reworked Brigitte, they didn't just get rid of her shield and health packs but they changed values to change her play style

  • @Verconissp said:

    He's fine as it stands,

He needs no Rework in general.

He has No Map Pressure but good 1v1.

Just Keep blocking LoS and Pre-throw against him to avoid getting downed / hit,

He is not fine as it stands, his power is the same as pyramid heads old power which was addressed and adjusted. Yes he has "counters" (line of sight) and yes he lacks map pressure but that doesn't mean hes fun to play against.

  • @MeltingPenguins said:

The thing about slinger is this:

If you give him a windup like huntress, his ability becomes unusable, as sometimes you have to quickly lower and raise the gun. NOT to fake a shot and M1 people, but to be able to better change positions to get a shot in.

If you'd make him faster to make up for the windup time, you'd have to lower the chain length to not have him be able to come up too quickly, windup or not, and M&A or not. This would make a lot of longer shots impossible and lead to a lot of M1 again.

The best change for him would be the introduction of dynamic map generation, so that maps are slightly different depending on the killer. In caleb's case this would mean, for example, maps are generally smaller and a bit more condensed, but with more obstacles to dodge behind that can be shot through but not over, meaning you oughta know what you are doing on either side.

I honestly have no idea what balance to his current power would work, that's why I think his power needs a rework. I don't want him made weaker I just want some sort of quality of life change for both sides...

As his power stands now he is the least fun killer for me to play against to the point where I want to disconnect because I know I won't have fun in the chases. And this is coming from someone who never disconnects (even if it's a stridor spirit)

I can see why some people stopped watching or just lost track as it is a huge watch, but it is one of the rare shows that kept me hooked from the start until the end. I actually find it hard watching new things as I just always want to rewatch Supernatural lol.

Hopefully one day we see Sam and Dean in this game. Until that day comes, I’ll just keep dreaming about it. Hehe

I really really loved the first couple of seasons and I loved a select few episodes after that but it became way too complex and oversaturated for me. That being said I'll always have a soft spot for the show and the characters ❤

I felt the same way! Although I no longer watch the show it's such a nostalgic feeling and I would be so happy to combine two things I enjoy

Demo towers over adult soldiers in ST, he should be 8+ feet tall.

Myers, by comparison, is actually the 2nd largest model in DBD, beaten only by the tip of Pyramid Head's hat. In the movies, he's just an average sized dude, except for Rob Zombie's Halloween, where he was 6'6 and an professional fighter. In game, he's easily 8+ feet.
