Hi, sorry this is in the wrong place but I've never had to report people on the forums, I just had a game where 1 survivor played normally and i killed him, and the rest hid for the entire game, I was playing slinger so I had no way of tracking them. I recorded the game on https://www.twitch.tv/minipixels and the game took a little under an hour, until I DCd, because i knew that's what they wanted me to do, I spent the entire time checking every locker on the map, basement and all never encountering a survivor after the first 10 mins of the game. I finally gave in and DCd and as expected they all immediately starting ######### talking me saying that they won, I have video evidence that I will post on the official player report along with their ID64s and steam profile links, they never touched a gen for basically the entire game, and these players need to be taken care of. Thank you in advance.
You can also report them from the end of match screen by clicking on the thumbs. And selecting on of the categories.
-
Yes, they are working on it.
-
I think those that moderate the forums need to take a harder stance on people that bait, rant, vent, insult, and are generally toxic without contributing anything constructive to the conversation.

You are the problem, see my thread. https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/154233/please-do-something-about-survivors-suicide-on-hook/p1
Sorry, but just because you create a thread, doesn't make what it said true. Context is important. Quitting simply because you got hooked first is much different than being hook farmed by a teammate and the killer tunneling you because of it. When you see they are going to do it again, you aren't going to be able to help your team anyway. In some games, your survivor teammates are a bigger threat than the killer.
-
No reliable way, no. And your need to rescue your teammate, is what feeds that playstyle. It will never change as long as people keep playing into it.
-
Stop feeding the Leatherface.
-
Yeah. Other people mentioned it, and certain hints brought it to mind. I have to admit, though, that the two friends named Simon confused me. Guess i don't really know enough about Silent Hill lore.
-
All killers have counterplay, it's just that some survivors can't be bothered learning them. They want to play every killer in the same way, and when they can't, it's a problem with the killer.
The game isn't balanced around swf's. Random groups can do just fine. The only difference is that you may get teamed up with potato survivors. It sucks, but they can't balance the game around that, either. Maybe when the new MMR system comes out, it will pair us with equally skilled survivors.
Sounds have always been a big part of the killers arsenal, not sure why you think that Spirit should be any different. It takes skill to listen and react properly, and it takes skill to counter her. Try using sound against her.

What’s with this?
Decided to go a few rounds as Death Slinger at red ranks as I haven’t really played him. Just played normally no tunnelling etc.
every single match played approx 5 matches survivors were butt dancing? 😂
Obviously they’d know I’m a baby death slinger.
I don’t get it. You see so many complaints on these forums of tunnelling, camping etc lol
I’m not salty I just laugh at them like it’s some big achievement that they escaped lol
You might be making too much out of it. Yes, there are some toxic people out there, but most are not. As someone who plays both sides, i understand the situation. It used to confuse when i first started playing as survivor, and would annoy me when I started playing killer. However, survivors almost always hang out at the gates before escaping, to get extra blood points. They heal, and wait for the killer to chase them out. Chase + escape = more BP. Many will let you hit them, so you get some extra chase and hit or down BP's. Most are likely jusy trying to get you to play along.

I'm going to need to see some citation and a peer reviewed study on that statement at the end. And you didn't read well if you saw I said "end game chat" you would know I was around when the game ended. I disconnected seconds before the killer basically ended everyone else and hooked them all (30 seconds isn't all that much.) I may have been hasty to claim the things I have but you yourself were just as hasty to force the public on your side with a statement "MOST people don't" because I definitely remember when DC penalties weren't a thing it happened more than we saw Nurse players and Pigs thank you
I know you stayed around till the end of the game, but when you DC'd you didn't know. Even if you did, that is not an excuse to DC.
Force the public on my side? What kind of nonsense is that. I play the games, and I see. Yes, many people DC'd in the past, but it was far from the majority. Why the ######### would I need to provide a citation and peer review study? You certainly didn't for your ridiculous claim. You did something wrong and you would like to believe that most people do that, to make yourself feel better. Well, that just isn't the case.
-
The perk adds an Object of Obsession to the game, but only increases the chance of them being the obsession. RNG can make someone else the obsession.
-
Not sure what you want from this post. You quit the game because it wasn't going your way, so yes, the other survivors have a right to be upset. You suspected that the killer would have NOED, but you couldn't know until the end, which you quit before reaching. Even if the killer had it, that is not an excuse to quit. Neither is determining in advance that you aren't going to win, so you just quit, rather than making an effort. You don't get better at a role when you quit when things aren't going your way, and you screw over your teammates in the process.
There is no such thing as a toxic build. The fact that you don't like it doesn't make it toxic. Also, your idea that most people DC when games are difficult, is completely wrong. Clearly that is something that you have made up in your own mind to try and justify your actions to yourself. I have never DC's from a game, no matter how hard it got, and MOST people don't.
-
I get that some people are disappointed, but the killer seems interesting and decently thought out. I'd much rather have them add a killer that has a unique playstyle, than adding a killer just because they are popular.
-
Probably depends on the killer. Slow killers may not bother, because they might not be able to make it back to stop another gen from popping. other killer can get away with it a little more.
-
Yes, it is a swf, but it is not nearly as bad as a 3 or 4 man swf. Two player coordinating is not nearly as bad as 4. Though, a lot of times, the 2 man swf's screw over their teammates by coordinating a key escape, or sacrificing their teammates so the two of them can escape.
-
I'm like you. I hate having to walk to save sprint burst. I prefer to use Lithe, but of those two I would go with Dead hard. Dead Hard relies a lot on proper timing, and being able to anticipate the killer. Use it too early, or too late, and it could be a waste.
-
As someone who plays both, the game is survivor sided. However, for new and lower skilled survivors it may appear to be killer sided. But, with skilled survivors, it is definitely survivor sided. That's why we see so many mori's and killers running NOED. It was nowhere near this bad before. Now killers feel that they have to run those in order to compete.
Maps, of course, can make a match more lopsided, and skew the match in the favor of one side or the other, and matchmaking is so bad that it also skews the match in favor of one side or the other.
-
Killer should be scary, in that they should not be able to be bullied, but they don't need 4k's every game, or even most. In most horror/slasher flicks, at least one person survives.
-
Here's the problem that I see, if they can't fix a system that is simply based on rank, how is their new system going to work any better? Clearly, either way they do it, it is going to expand outward looking for teams until they are just as lopsided, but they will be hiding it so we won't see it, like we do the ranks.
-
It's only holding the game hostage if they prevent the game from ending, in some way. I had a killer, once, that took me into a corner, and would let me struggle to escape. However, because of the location he could instantly down me, then he would pick me up...rinse and repeat. I couldn't die, or escape, and the game would never end. Only time I have DC'd intentionally.
-
I like him, and the movies, but he doesn't really fit. He's not a killer than runs around killing people.

Maybe get rid of Mori Offerings. Anything survivor sided gets complained about but nobody addresses the strength of Killer items. Survivors have map offering strength (odds are better at 4-1) which is still useless. Survivors don’t have good offerings that impact the game like killers can. They can only gain additional bloodpoints. They have a tree branch that can be countered with Putrid tree branch. What do they have that killers can’t counter? Map percentage chance? But killers get Mori’s? Where’s the survivor counter for that? There is none.
map offerings 😂 yeah okay. Everyone deserves to have an impact on where to go. Maps that aren’t being played as much due to vast number of maps available. I think it’s necessary.
######### does that have to do with map offerings? Why do you have to bring your survivor main BS into a thread about something that affects both sides? Maps negatively affect both sides. If you want to complain about mori's, find another thread that is relevant to that.

Only issue I can see with this is that it'd be the death of certain gimmick builds. Trying to do Jumpscare Myers and getting one of the many big, open maps instead of an indoor map basically ruins the whole build.
Right now, I'd say that it'd be a good change to remove them. But ideally, we could just have more balanced maps and buffs for other offerings instead.
Yeah, I get that. While I have never played Meyers, I love the vids of other people playing that build. I'm thinking of this as a more temporary thing until they can get maps balanced a little better.
@IMhereRUN said:
I gotta say no. While the game is at its 4 year mark, even with new content added regularly (great job trying to keep things fresh), random matches can get old.
Some fun builds are bases on map offerings to be successful. Could you imagine using a Scratched Mirror Myers on Rotten Fields? There’s just real logical reason to abolish map offerings to me.
That's why I said "at least until they can get the maps balanced a little better". It's just a bandaid fix, and certainly not the perfect solution. I really wouldn't want to see the gimmick builds permanently harmed.

My experience has been much like your own. I think i can count the number of face campers i seen while playing as survivor on one hand.
Which yeah, the best way to punish a facecamper, is to do gens. Since sure you can try to save the person on hook but if the killer is a face camping bubba, that might lead to simply just feeding them kills, rather than any real save. Yet oddly some seem to be against doing just that and would rather give the facecamper a clear 4k, rather than try to deny them as many kills as possible. Yeah it sucks for the one person on the hook, who if they hang on to the very end and don't just kill themselves, since they didn't get to really play the video game but are a true vip for being a real trooper for hanging in there to give random strangers, their team as much time as possible.
"Yeah it sucks for the one person on the hook, who if they hang on to the very end and don't just kill themselves, since they didn't get to really play the video game but are a true vip for being a real trooper for hanging in there to give random strangers, their team as much time as possible".
Yeah, I think the person on the hook should get a lot of blood points for hanging on till the end. It would make for fewer suicides, and make hanging on more worthwhile. For doing their part, they are helping the team succeed, and they should be rewarded appropriately.
-
If you are talking about before the game starts, you can't. They can't see yours and you can't see theirs. In game, you can only tell by experiencing them.

Thank you. It's a well deserved honor. 😎

Cool story man 👍️ keep it up, maybe write a book
I guess that's all you can say when you can't debate the point. Cheers.
-
No, it's not camping. A smart survivor is going to expect a trap there and disarm it first. A concerned survivor might run Small Game every match to detect traps. Since it can also detect totems it's not a complete waste when not facing Trapper or Hag. It's certainly not camping to place a trap that can be disarmed.

OP is spitballing. Since the devs have, for some reason, decided not to add a secondary objective to the game, people are having to work with existing mechanics to deal with the issues. Maybe the switch needs to be wired up to the gens in order to make it work.

Then you must be the luckiest person I've ever met, I get face campers every few matches because the matchmaking puts me against rank 15 potatoes who start face camping with 3 gens remaining.
You realize that that is a ridiculous statement, right. My being the "luckiest person" would imply that the vast majority of killers facecamp, which simply isn't true. The vast majority do not facecamp, as it is an extremely poor strategy against decent survivors. I don't understand why you feel the need to exaggerate. I have probably faced 6 or 7 Bubba's in a row today, which is unusual. Not one of them facecamped, and it's Bubba's that make up the biggest majority of facecampers.

Therefore the devs have been, and are aware of, the matchmaking issues. Posting another thread to show how broken it is doesn't suddenly speed up the coding process.
Still, matches like that should not be happening. I had several very similar to that when I started playing killer. It's not fun, and some survivor groups abuse the killer when they know that they are not that experienced. The devs can, and should, bandaid fix the current system until they complete the new system, if they can't get their new system out in a reasonable amount of time. Do you realize how bad of an experience that is for new players. Also, it is not acceptable that with a problem as big as this, the devs have not provided an update in 4 months.
-
Tunneling is if you intentionally target a specific target above all others. It is generally considered tunneling if you deliberately go after the unhooked survivor rather than they one that unhooked them.
However, many survivors don't understand that this can happen without deliberate intent by the killer. It could be bad luck that the killer found you first after you were unhooked. It happens. If a survivor performs an unsafe rescue and you get downed, that is on the rescuer, not the killer. If you heal under the hook, or out in the open and the killer finds you, that is on you. I'm not sure why so many survivors like to heal under the hook. It's ok if you know the killer is on the other side of the map, but otherwise it is a terrible idea. The killer gets notified when you are rescued. if he has nothing else going on he is likely to head right there. MOVE!
-
They really do need to rework the maps. Some have god loops while others have big dead zones. It's not balanced because there are some maps that are better for each. All of the maps need to be balanced for both sides. I'm sure that it may be a challenge for the devs, but it needs to be done.
I'm also not sure why they have completely ruled out secondary objectives. They have added them for events, so it's not like it would be hard. To rule it out means that they aren't considering ALL possibilities to improve the game.
-
Flashlights are fine. Saves require some precision, so a delay would make it nearly impossible to get the saves. Click spam, who cares? They can click all they want. It wastes their time and lets you know where they are even when you can't see them. If flashlights bother you so much, use Franklin's Demise. Most players don't expect it and it can throw them off their game, and slow things down a bit if they try to retrieve them. You might actually get some extra downs out of it, because they tend to take risks trying to get their flashlight back.
-
Yeah, I wish the devs would crack down on it, but they don't seem to care. What's the worst is when new killers get told how much they suck, after going up against far more experienced survivors. They are trying to learn the game and the killer, of course they aren't going to be good at them yet, but some people just have to be #########.
My guess is that they are just immature people that don't succeed in real life, so they take any chance they get to dump on people anonymously, to make themselves feel better.

Do the killer mains just complain about 1 perk endlessly, when they do give up or get it nerfed, just pick another to whinge about?
Do survivor mains get so defensive about everything that someone who plays a killer says that they can't tell a joke when they see one, especially one that actually says "Just Kidding"?
-
Taking a break may help, or play survivor for a bit, it's far more relaxing. Franklin's Demise helps to get rid of those flashlights and health kits. Sure they can pick them up, but they may be taking a risk to do it, and it slows the game down for them if they have to come back for them. You could also lobby dodge if you see them geared up like that. That's a better alternative to quitting a game.
-
I played one game where the nurse was afk the whole game, and when we opened the gate, there she was. Made me jump. :)
-
Keys, i hate. They hurt the killer and other survivors when survivors leave the match early using a key. I'm not fond of Mori's either, but mori's are a symptom of a bigger problem. I think i only saw one mori prior to the ruin nerf., now they are everywhere. Killers have adapted to the gen rushing. I'm sure that many would prefer to use other items, but they are doing what they feel they need to to slow things down, and taking someone out of the game does slow things down. Ruin could have been changed to be more new player friendly without making it useless. You can blame the devs for the increase in mori use. That said, I never use mori's myself, and I don't particularly like being on the receiving end of them, unless i would be on my death hook anyway.
-
Any camping, other than facecamping, is legit in my book. Gen camping is the killers job, so that one doesn't even make sense to complain about. While facecamping is allowed, I think it is a scumbag move on the killers part. I never do that and never will. I will camp a gen, though.
-
Yes, not a well designed room, but once you know it's there, you just avoid it. It makes no sense, because it has breakable wall that the killer will never break, and survivors will avoid once they know it is a suicide room. There are rooms that you can get blocked in on other maps too, like Haddonfield. it was a douche move by the killer, to just stand there and block you. Though, if you had 3 other people that could be doing gens, you shouldn't have DC'd. Your DC just amused the killer and hurt your team. But, yes, they definitely need to change it. Not sure what they were thinking with that one.
-
They really aren't the same thing. It's the killers job to force the interactions. If he/she chases them off gens, then you have the chase you want. If you camp, survivors will/should stay on gens. Camping is what creates the situation you describe.
-
The alien would be great on indoor maps, especially if they made it saw that it could walk on walls and ceilings. Unfortunately, i think she would be out of place on many of the outdoor maps.
-
Honestly, they need to deal with the toxicity on the forums, first. Why they let the abusive comments and bait threads go on is beyond me. It just makes everything worse. The forums wind people up and then they take it into the game. They need to do a better job of dealing with posts/threads that are just going to bread toxicity.
-
When he uses his chainsaw he actually slows down. If you got hit jumping through a window it's because you were out positioned and should not have gone for the window.

Stop assuming, dumbass, I do as much gens as any other, I also bring prove thyself in most of my matches. All I'm saying is that if there's a match where all I do are gens, it's no fun. Do you take pleasure on winning or in having a fun match?
I very rarely see facecampers in a game, so having to do gens to get back at a face-camper is fine. In fact it makes me more determined to get them done. I can't imagine that it is a lot of fun for the face-camper either, unless people come to them to get killed. Do the gens. Don't reward them for facecamping. If everyone does that then the face-camper will realize it's a bad strategy and stop facecamping. How do you not get that? The only reason they face-camp is because it works.
-
The problem is that the game naturally divides the game into two factions, survivor mains and killer mains (those that play both are forced into one of those categories, depending on their opinion on the specific topic). Since mains don't play the other side, they are completely clueless about the real situations. They complain about what they don't like and attack anyone that tries to explain the other side to them. They also don't like to adapt to new things, so if they don't like it, instead of trying to play around it, they just come here to whine and ask for a nerf.

As matchmaking in the game goes, that is not bad. I remember facing survivor teams like that when i was 17. Besides, the average is well within the zone of what they shoot for. Yes, it still sucks, but the longer you have to wait in the queue, the worse the MM will be, as they broaden the parameters that it searches for. Maybe the new MM system will be better. We'll have to wait and see.
