It could be bugged and/or really impossible outpost since HRV isn't moving (so you should report just in case) but you actually can create legal base with this setup. The base has to have another entrance which HRV supposed to take on second wave. It could be well hidden but completely legal and possible.

Why not tho? Cause EAC only bans when the modification is giving me an advantage right?
Technically, this is against the rules. Nobody will revert your ban just because you broke rules in unharmfull way.
They won't spend time to look into all ban cases individually. EAC has its conditions to ban you. If you meet those conditions, that's it. You have super low chances to get its attention just for icons but you never know for sure.

i appreciate it! i’ll look and hopefully i’ll find something cheaper. i wish i would have start playing earlier XD
G2A sells it from 70$ to 110$ so... yeah :c
Please, be careful with low prices and with ST-DLC in general. Since those keys are last ones nobody is going to sell them too cheap. Scam is among us and waiting.
-
Some resellers still have those keys as far as I know. But prices are super unfair, smth like 20 times more expensive than DLC was originally. At least in our price region.
-
It definitely used to be like that but description of the perk says "when killer is carrying another survivor". Probably, auras during carrying of owner weren't intended and were fixed.
-
You claimed the party as sweat genrushers but you spent 90 seconds trying to find first chase. They literally had nothing else to do but repair...
Yes, it was unfortunate you didn't find anyone before 2 gens poped but that has nothing with "sweating" from survivors' side.

So just for clarity if I play on RPD & in my very next game someone burns an RPD offering it will be impossible to go there (or any other map the other 4 players were just on)
I never ever use map offerings so I don't care but I imagine certain killers / survivors who burn the same offerings over & over again will be annoyed.
Personally i'd remove all map offerings at the same time this comes in, save the hassle & really leave it all to random chance.
They said they'll make chances to get the same map several times in a row lower. Pretty sure offerings are safe here and will work as usual.

Lanterns don't give cosmetics tho? That's the envelopes
Like pumpkins, they provide a speed boost
Start of event - 0/10 cosmetics.
The game with envelope - 1/10
Next game with envelope AND lantern - 3/10
Next game with envelope only - 4/10
Maybe i'm wrong and somehow I got two cosmetics out of one envelope but...
-
@not_requested49 said:
Yeah they are definitely a lot less common than the pumpkins. Not sure why
Pumkins gave you bloodpoints only and lanterns give you event cosmetics, that's why they are that rare, BHVR don't want you to get all of them in one trial.
But one time I found two lanterns in one game and I run into one every 5ish games, I think. I don't search for them, pure luck.

yeah...so it's not like the bone chill event and just tied to the red envelops opened by other players in the trial.
Not all events have tomes to get rewards. Sometimes you have some objects or offerings to use and interact with. So yeah. It's different.

there always was an event tome u could access through this window and it was also shown in the compendium, but it's not. you can even unlock cosmetics from the moonlight burrow. where are these challenges listed in order to gain the moonlight burrow cosmetics if not in a seperate tome?

that's how the last bone chill event tome looked like btw.
All cosmetics are from envelopes as stated in pop up card. And if you touch this paper lantern you get an extra cosmetic this trial. That's it, there's no tome with cosmetics, envelopes give you 10 already.

Thanks! I was unaware of the number, the steam news article seems to be out of date/not in the same state as the official patch notes as they do not have a value.
Official patch notes don't have it either. It's from pre-ptb dev blog where they explained all changes and reasonings. Idk why didn't they mention numbers in notes, tbh.

Is that the only one they’ve added? Ffs. Eyrie rework has definitely been a massive failure.
I'm not sure it's the only one, I wasn't paying attention. Was too busy being annoyed that it's 6th Eyrie this evening, huh.
Jokes aside, yeah, that's all new I remember, tbh. Probably, that's it. Maybe they have added some not-new-in-general-but-new-for-this-realm tiles, but I don't notice such things so can't say for sure.

It should be making them wiggle more, that said they never specified by how much, however I would think you shouldn't expect it to be boil over levels of impact(Boil Over is currently 80%).
they did
And seems like great skillchecks make killers sway 20% more based on new-50%-less norm lol so it should be smth like 60% of previous wiggle power.
-
Are you sure you haven't seen this thing?
It's new.
-
It's impossible without video or at least screenshot of loadouts of all players and additional information about the situation. Could be new perk which makes you exposed after stun. Iron maden. Locker grab. Gen grab. Chest grab. Totem grab. Could be you missed first hit on the hud. Could be flashlight save, pallet save, pover struggle. Could be oni's perk which make you an obsession after stun so power struggle selfsave look like ds. Could be bugs, could be cheats. Could be smth else. Could be anything, actually. What did happen exactly and what did you see? Timings? Perks?

For thanking they could just write it in after chat. Im not sure how delaying the game until i found him and the hatch can be "thanking".
If you do something just to annoy the enemy its ofcourse "unsportmanslike" I mean if thats not unsportmanslike what else is?
You never know for sure.
Yes and maybe the killer who is afk the whole game, just want to gift points to the survivors and is not using a bot. Or when they write "noob" after the game they are trying to motivate you to get better. You never know for sure... Thats why we are speaking about "unsportmanslike" behaviour and not from unsportmanslike motives.
I mean if thats not unsportmanslike what else is?
If you speak about unsportsmanlike behaviour with no questions about motives behind it then go and check game rules where this behaviour is clearly stated. Unsportsmanlike behavior (according to rules) is when you do smth that break normal game loop completely and can be judged outside of motives like teaming up with other side or griefing your teammates. Or being afk; bot or not but killer is supposed to play the game, farming isn't bannable only if all participants are ok with it and no one is forced to join. And even those cases can be closed with no punishment due to lack of evidences or possibility griefing was accidental.
So standing on the hatch isn't against the rules and doesn't break the loop, you have your gameplay tools to deal with it. You can play with words as long as you want but 1) it can't be banned as unsportsmanlike behaviour because it could be pretty sportsmanlike depends on mood of both sides and no one can describe it objectively and clearly enough to make this rule regulated, and 2) I'm not the one who creates rules so even though I'm up for all those "what if" things with killers just gifting points, I can't do anything for you but to say this hatch behaviour is not bannable.
-
Nothing.
Really, nothing.
Some survivors don't even know about this stuff. Some of them think it's stupid to give items bc killers can't take it. Some of them think smth else. All of them won't understand you no matter what. Some of survivors even use this as a gesture only, so after putting item down they take it back. In THIS case sometimes it's possible to make it clear you want their item on ground but that's it.
You just can't be the offering side here. Either you let this survivor go and then they probably will give their item as a gratitude, or they must be first one who offers an exchange. I'm trying to give killers my items because I think it's a nice tradition and I don't mind loose them, especially as a thanks for mercy. But if I don't do that myself I doubt I can get this ides from killer... It's more clear when killer wan't me NOT TO leave my item on the ground x)
But you can text them (if possible). I think, that's the only way to make it clearly clear.

The hostage situation with two survivors left over is only considered bannable if it's for an extended period of time. So, hiding for a minute or two isn't going to get you banned, I doubt at least. Whereas, hiding for 5+ minutes is starting to get excessive.
Well, if you hide for only 2 minutes and then go to killer or repair gens, you can't actually say smth about trying to outlive each other for hatch, right?
And we are talking about situations when both survivors understand clearly they can't finish gens and their only option is to hide for hatch; then they potentially can hide till server's shut down.
Those situations can be 2 minutes long in two cases: 1) one survivor is bad hide-and-seek player (could be on purpose to speed up the process), 2) killer is better searcher. Both cases are kinda make those situations dissapear, hence there's nothing to be mad about and nothing to make you think about reporting anyone.
But if you can't find anyone for so long that you WANT to report them - then your report will be completely valid. Peanits himself says about 30 mins, but I guess after 5-10 minutes of searching you'd be pissed off enough already, so yeah, I think 5+ minutes is a pretty good landmark :D

Surprising I guess I was speaking with logic lol
It's understandable, you know. It's not super intuitive thing, sometimes trying to repair generators is clearly stupid and hopless idea. It's not fair to be punished for playing smart. Especially because hiding is reportable only if all players do that. Either I repair gen and get caught or we both get reported, then why me? Why can't this other guy repair generators and give himself to killer while I'm waiting for hatch?
It's a flaw in game design and need to be fixed somehow, but yeah, for now hiding with no slugs for 4k involved is a hostage situation which agains the rules and can be punished.

What are you talking about "refusing to participate in normal gameplay"? And who defines this? If there's one or two people left they're not obligated to sit on the gens just so they're "participating" in the match the way you want. I highly doubt BHVR is going to start punishing people in the ridiculous way you're suggesting. Make arguments effective with logic, not Hyperbole.
You will be surprised.
-
As far as this IS to annoy/mock the killer in most cases, you just can't prove that, therefore your report will do nothing, I'm afraid. Maybe this survivor was waiting for you to thank you for fun game, how is this unsportsmanlike? You never know for sure.
Even if you'd record 30 minutes of them butt-dancing on the hatch while looking at you, the only thing bhvr can do is ask why didn't you come to close the hatch or force survivor to leave as you have all your tools for that.
-
I'm afraid, no one knows for sure. Someone from devs/cms told it's an average number but I doubt it's a literal average, must be some formula involved.

Are camping killers bannable? Like, I'm talking straight up Bubba not moving and facing a hooked survivor, standing still for a few minutes because we all know his power is impossible to dodge in that situation. I always report it as "idling". 😕
Camping is a legit strategy and not bannable. It is not fun but not against the rules either.

Because the crash report is on your PC, and set to the developers.
It's not sent to the game server you just left. By the time 'crash report' shows up on your PC (itself being a failsafe called when the game shuts down in ANY improper way); the server only saw that you disappeared.
And at that point, with the game now shut down, how would the crash report even know what server to send a 'This was a crash' signal too?
And again; If this were even a thing, Players would find a way to force crashes in order to dodge DC penalties.
Makes sense, thank you!
-
@JPLongstreet said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3319179#Comment_3319179
Sadly all this is true. Since they cannot differentiate between crashes and actual DC's the penalty system treats them all the same.
Admittedly, it doesn't help that DBD isn't the most stable game around either.
Out of curiosity: how can they not diffentiate between two those things if crashes literally give you crash report with option to send it to developers?.. Isn't it a good way to differentiate them?
I know it's impossible to differentiate legit and forced DCs but differentiate between crash and not a crash?..

I think it's because the new wiggle system is getting more fully integrated. It has good and great skillchecks, with differing powers and effects, so where do you put the AD spam?
Additionally, if the devs know what to expect from a survivor on the killer's shoulder, it becomes easier to adapt it to other aspects of gameplay. What if you had a perk, for example, that recharged charge-based perks for hitting great wiggle checks? You can't do that if AD-spamming is still also an option.
Meh. I guess it's next boil over nerf then, make it tied up to great skillchecks only.

Agree about having a choice for the old one. Hate the new one. Also the statistics are not representative anyway. Yes 83% of players chose to keep the new system following on from trying it via the beta tab. However, what would that number be if the new system did not include increased wiggle progress from great skill checks, as will be the case once it is fully implemented? This change makes the previous statistics collected on uptake totally invalid.
True.
And you can loose some progress unwillingly; more than you do with current system :/ I hope-hope-hope they'll keep alternative for us. Just please, why not, it just can't be harder than different action options (press/hold).

Wow someone that actually wants to stick to the topic at hand, fantastic!
If anything this did make me wonder about overall wiggle skill check accuracy. Like I know latency could be playing a role here but also, what if the actual skill checks are somehow not registering? Ya know?
I also say this because recently I have noticed there are extra skill checks that appear even after getting hooked. Idk if anyone else has experienced this.
Yep. That's why I'm super sceptical about this going out of beta. I prefer old wiggle system for that reason and for a reason that one unlucky performance lag can make you miss skillcheck and then progress bar is stopped until next skillcheck. It's valuable time you don't miss in current system.
In the game I face unpredictable skillcheck lags every other day (if someone is injured or downed the very moment skillcheck clue sounds, sometimes the game can lag and skillcheck appears too late to react; it's not often but as annoying as auto failed skillchecks after you let go gen), in this game I just can't fully trust system with constant skillchecks in play. It can cost hooks and it does. And it will.

Because that is the literal truth.
How WOULD you fight back? What possible tools would you even use?
Let's assume for two seconds you can find a knife in say, a drawer in haddonfield. What are you gonna do with that? Stab the Nemesis with it? Kill Michael Myers?
You think Dwight, the office idiot, armed with a steak knife, is going to "fight back" against Pyramidhead?
Even Dwight can "fight back", even agains Pyramid head. But magically he has this ability for only 60 seconds after his unhook. And only if he desn't touch gens. Decisive Strike, you know. Logical? No. Entity's rules? Yes. Nice. Then entity's rules are survivors can bodyblock killers. Just like this rule when they somehow can't take axes out of lockers. I'm sure David can teach Pig or Legion couple lessons even bare handed but axe would be even better.
@Johnny_XMan said:
Had a round where my friends blocked for hook, the bar reached 100% and we still had to block for like an extra 5 seconds. This is why I don't care for wiggle skill checks, they seem so inconsistent... from being right at 100% but still getting the hooked regardless.... to this. 🤣
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/4VYXHAJPOXG1/basekit-mad-grit.gif
I wonder if this also tied up to new wiggle mechanic. I've noticed it could be unclear (wrong) about bar progress.

Yesterday Eruption+PainRes combo made me repair one gen 3 times. From almost zero to almost done. We didn't finish it, after all.
And even though I think we COULD beat it if one of our teammates wasn't trying to suicide on first hook and then (much later in game) didn't bring chase into 3-gen area where we were repairing this cursed gen third time, I do think this perk needs at least something.

What happened to 99ing gens man? This used to be a mutually understood thing years ago - an unwritten rule, if you will. You run to a gen, see it's been left on high, particularly late in the game, and know it's been done strategically. These days people just think 'oh, I'll finish this for the BP' and then you're stuck in a 2/3 gen with nothing to distract the killer.
Happend that killers don't give a ######### about this gen and just stick to their almost-set-3gen anyway because they have more than enough instruments to defend it once it's set. Moreover, this 99 could be lost easily bc of current meta. One unlucky scorge hook/eruption/surge/call of brine while you are too busy to save the gen and your 99 is zero now with 89 seconds of repairing lost in vain. Just why? Isn't it better to spend those 89 seconds breaking an actual 3-gen if you are one gen away from it?
Anyway, haven't seen tactically 99d gens for a while. Furthermore, haven't seen a situation when strategically 99d gen could make any difference for a while, too.
-
Wake Up. Sometimes those seconds really matter and I can't convince fellow teammate to let me open.

I was sure we'll get it as an option not a replacement.

Not a viable option. Turning off crossplay limits you to players on your platform. So if you're on Xbox, you will only get players on Xbox, and not PS or Switch.
And excludes PC hackers which is a main problem for OP. Definitely a viable option. Maybe not satisfying enough but viable indeed.

Using weak parts of games design to win the match makes it an exploitation by definition. If you have played other games you must know that every action by one side needs to be counterable by the other. This is literally how games are build. Keep camping and tunneling but in this case survivors must have stronger counters and killers should recieve some penalty for that. It is not normal that you advise survivors to suicide and to just play next match. I want to see how you play against decent blight nurse bubba wesker spirit trickster that tunnels because against their tunneling there are no counters. These are the matches that you understand that something is very wrong with this game and tunneling "strategy".
I don't advise anything to anyone in this post nor other posts in this tread.
And I don't understand why you quoted me with this answer because it seems you agreed with everything I said.

Go in your settings and turn off the crossplay.
