  • No one wants to do 5 Ruins when we have 3 gens while the killer has 6 hooks, instead of doing generators to escape. "Let's just do 5 bones to prevent NOED which is probably non-existent in this game."

Thanks. I think it's fair to say that people with anxiety issues can understand each other.

Well, I AM new, but not brand-spanking new. I've only had the game a month but I'm not completely helpless or anything, I've played probably around 400 matches and have raised my handful of favorite survivors to around 40. The ranks cool off and go back down (larger numbers) when you don't play for a bit right? The best rank I recall getting to before a vacation last week was about 12, whereas now I'm probably back to 20. A few hours of playing though and I'd likely be back down to the teens.

What is a 1v1 like? Is it the same set of objectives that occur when a full crowd boils down to 1v1, or are the requirements different by default? Also how does one actually intentionally play an SWF game, do we just befriend each other and call each other to our games? If so I don't know how it works if one friend is a survivor and the other is a killer.

Lol here I am saying that I'm not BRAND new yet I'm asking questions that probably make it look like this is my first day. I'm not a GREAT player, but I'm certainly not a terrible one. I do alright I think. Lots more to go but I can handle myself, I guess. Just not as a killer, apparently. I feel bad for the people I got a 4K against last week. I have no clue how that even happened, lol.

Hey no worries lol. If you're on PC like me I can just invite you on Steam, if not I'll have to add you in Dead by Daylight itself in order to do cross-platform play.

Oh and basically 1v1ing is just practicing a chase against each other (survivor vs. killer).

That's what i've been saying "Just do bones" Is literally "Just pressure gens" but for survivors lmao

NOED should reward killers who have gotten hooks by getting tokens and when you down a survivor in the endgame a token is consumed and all survivors are exposed and the more you down survivors your tokens are going to be lost 1 by 1

That way the perk would reward good killers

I agree. I've said this before, ima say it again.

Saying "just bait out Dead Hard" is like saying "just do bones against NOED."

First, sorry to hear about your social anxiety. I understand. I have GAD and it's a #########.

I actually find it very interesting that you prefer to play as a killer. For me, playing as a killer actually makes my anxiety worse because (A) they're harder to learn, thus I'm more prone to making stupid mistakes and generally not being good, and (B) as the one enemy, ALL eyes are on me. If everyone escapes, it's my fault. I'm singled out as an idiot. At least when I play as a survivor I can blend in, lol.

I don't know how this game works in terms of two people on opposing sides meeting up for a match (or if there even is such a possibility in this game) but if there IS such a way, or you'd just plain like to play with another player who just wants to have a fun time and isn't going to aggro and trash talk and all that juvenile crap, definitely feel free to look me up.

Thanks and oh- I'm sorry to hear that.

I actually main killer because I like relying on myself and only myself. I'm pretty introverted so I prefer doing things alone. Also, I tend to screw up a lot in solo queue, and I get anxious because of that. Tbh I can honestly sympathize with you there though.

And yeah, you can play against each other in customs like 1v1ing! Also, I'm almost always down to SWF, haven't done that in years. What rank are you though? I don't care if you're good or bad at the game, but there may be situations where if I'm a higher rank (red or purple ranks) and you're a lower rank (like yellow or brown ranks) then we might get red rank killers which might be difficult for you.

Rewards killers for failing at their job....meaning survivors are punished for doing well...? Please tell me you're kidding. Are the survivors really doing that well if they didn't clear the totems...?

Ah yes, let's just crush 5 totems which takes 14 seconds to do for each one instead of doing generators. The killer probably got 6 hooks by now and we're only at 3 gens, let's cleanse totems anyways! Who knows, they probably don't even have NOED and we're doing all of this for nothing.

It's very nice of you to say that, thank you. I have anxiety issues and pretty much only every played one other online game (GTA V) when I was with friends. I play games to relax and have fun, I'm not interested in cheapness and aggressive competition and winning at all costs and trash talking, etc etc etc. So finding people online who have the same mindset is kind of difficult. I was actually just commenting in the "giving thumbs up" thread that I've been doing it in the vain hope that somehow it makes a difference and wishing that players had a consistently reliable way of really showing respect and appreciation for one another.

Mhm, I agree. I also have social anxiety myself, which is why I play solo queue in DBD and main killer. It's hard to make good friends these days :/

I see. I play on the PC but I'm not into social media and so forth so I don't know if there's a way to find a specific type of fellow player on Steam or what. After a few days of playing the game by myself and meeting some real ######### I figured that I'd come here and make a thread seeking other solo, sportsmanlike players who just want to play for fun and aren't the toxic type.

I feel like you're a nice fella who deserves good friends to play with. I really hope you meet some nice people to play with.

Oh no, definitely not. However, it is unbalanced IMO.

  • I feel like flashlight macros and teabagging are only douchey when you do it at the exit gates, since those can actually be tactics to anger the killer to make them continue chasing you.

  • @onemind said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2123883#Comment_2123883

The counter play is risky and inefficient

But in order to do this you need a good setup

1 ironwill with or without stridor this makes this happen

2 another loop in nearby distance

    3 luck

She stands still run to another loop and watch her if she dosent move crouch because it reduces noise you make. then this is the luck part if she keeps going in phase to the loop you need to run back to your loop you started at if she ends up behind you run to the other loop

This dosent work 100%of the time but its the best results I've gotten

Yeah, due to the luck it requires though it's kind of inconsistent :/

As I said, some Spirits will know how to play around it (it might work if you get REALLY lucky so I'd say it's worth trying) and some bad ones can easily get screwed over by that.

  • I mean like uhh... no sweat, y'know? Comms are fine IMO, but I mean OoO, 4-man Brand New Parts, etc.

  • Seriously, I've said this SO many times and I would love it. I've always wanted DBD to get true custom lobbies. Being able to adjust the amount of killers and survivors or even being able to play by yourself to test things out. Also, being able to disable structures on the map like the jungle gyms and disabling pallets so you can experiment the game without them.

Hell, in the future, after they do this, they could allow you to adjust AI for killer/survivor bots.

Devs, you added the new UI to add new features. This is your chance!

  • Excellent take on this.

(Also, to anyone who took offense to this, you're not a bad survivor if you SWF in a chill way.)

  • @BangBang said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2123838#Comment_2123838

Seriously, have you even played Spirit?

You're just saying OP because you don't know how to counter her.

Yes she is strong, but there are so many good red rank survivors who can dodge her for more than 1 minute.

Which is damn enough to do 1 or 2 gens.

Most killers are underpowered considering how fast gens are now. Twins nerf is understandable because they are stronger than Spirit against solo ques.

Anyone can play Spirit. Only mediocre Spirits would fall for her counters (no offense to anyone). Also, Iron Will only helps against her, it doesn't completely counter her. Stridor exists as well which completely removes the help of Iron Will.

By your logic, I have destroyed all of these "good red rank survivors" that tried to dodge my Spirit for more than 1 minute, and I don't even play Spirit because of how boring and easy she is. Blight and Clown are way more fun. No Stridor either. Red rank killer btw

And holy ######### how many times are people going to acknowledge gen speeds, they're literally fine. The only bad thing about them is BNP. I main killer as well so don't try to talk ######### about me.

I did not say Old Freddy was unfair. I said that not being able to see him unless you're in dream state is unfair. The way they have it done now with current Freddy is much better. We can only see him now when he's within range. Before though, you had no idea where you could hide because you could not see him. That was unfair. Not Old Freddy as a whole.

He can't hit survivors unless they're in the dream state.

  • Camping is necessary during the EGC.

  • I love the idea you have for Gearhead.

  • @Dragonshensi said:

Nurse and Spirit are the only ones who can counter and have a chance at high ranks. You want to nerf Spirit? Ok. Well prepare to only face Nurse forever. Instead of asking for nerfs, you need to ask for more buffs for killers. Except those two killers, it’s almost impossible to have a decent match in high ranks.

I mean, I'd gladly face Nurse over Spirit because she actually takes skill.

Okay so I found out the last page I posted was a page and half so today I'm sharing page 6 and half I guess. Thank you too everyone who has pushed me into writing this and I hope you all enjoy, so lets do this.

Elliot didn't know what to do, running was an obvious choice, but he didn't know what even was this thing. " Now, what was that about calling your nurse a #########?" Julie questioned menacingly, suddenly something pink spilled out from her glossy red lips. It wrapped around Elliots neck, it was wet, and slimy, it was a large protruding tongue. It was veiny even for a tongue, it was like a python, Elliot gasped for breath and to his horror saw Julie came for him. Elliot searched for his pocket knife in his right pocket, he unclipped it and with a swift slice he sliced off the large tongue, it fell to the floor wiggling. Julie screamed in agony, she stumbled back, her heels clicking against the floor.

It screamed and charged at Elliot with the syringe knocking back the pocket knife, Julie grabbed hold of Elliots right hand and Elliot grabbed her left. She was relatively strong, for some reason Elliot couldn't feel her bones, let alone anything solid underneath. Julie was beginning to easily wiggle out of his grasp, but Elliot tighten his grip, suddenly a powerful blow landed on his chin. Julie some how was flexible enough to kick him in such an angle, Elliot staggered to the floor and hastefully crawled for the knife, luckily he grabbed the knife, but was dragged by his feet. With the knife in hand Elliot quickly plunged it into her chest, she cried out and scampered away.

" NO, !" Julie cried, she immediately dropped the syringe, and scampered away holding onto her wound, as it leaked a vomit color substance. ELliot was breathing in and out, he was tired, spent, and pretty pissed. He stood up and began to stagger a bit, he turned his head left and right. " Well, at least she was kinky about it." Elliot commented, he stood up and looked at the knife, there was a crack in the blade that became clear it won't last long, he cursed then paced to the exit. His headache, apparently the wound in his head hasn't healed yet, which both irritated and aggravated Elliot more. One he He finally got to the door where he entered the Town hall, he grabbed the doors only for them to be locked " Damn it." he muttered.

He looked around for any where else to go, Elliot looked at his blade, he knew that he needed something better than a knife. Elliot began to make his way to a door as he opened slowly he heard the constant rushing of heels, the hairs on the back of his neck stood, Julie was close. Elliot opened the door and shut it as quietly as possible, he turned around to find a bunch of run down desks, the splattered corpse of a grey goose thing that was pinned to a wall, and a hammer that laid on the desk next to the whiteboard, it was calling his name. " That'll do." He commented.

Elliot tiptoed past the dusty desks, the room itself almost resembled a class room. In each desk Elliot noticed there were bloodied baskets like the stereotypical ones you would take on a picnic. However one had a large musical jolly chimps that had some blood, the one on the right corner next to the whiteboard had this rundown clown doll. He didn't put much thought as he finally paced over to the hammer, he reached for it and picked up the wooden handle that was actually made of plastic, Elliot growled. Suddenly a piece of the line that laid under the handle suddenly fell off the desk The clown doll awoke laughing its laughter. "Surprise". A voice emitted from the clowns voice it seemed to have been a recording of some kind.

The Jolly Chimp began clapping it cymbals together while laughing, suddenly there was crying within the cribs. " Babies?" Elliot questioned as he looked in the cribs to his horror looked like a deformed baby goose, crying like a human baby. Elliots' spine tingled knowing that Julie or whoever she is would hear, he looked around the room searching for a place to hide. Definitely not under the teacher's desk, his fat ass wouldn't fit under it, the closet would have to be his best option since there was almost next to no place for him to actually hide in. He bolted to the closet opened and hid there, praying to some god that he wouldn't be found.

This one was pretty good! Of course there were grammar errors in there but I still liked it! I love where Elliot doesn't really take it seriously sometimes, kinda like Ash Williams. He's like a minor comic relief.

    Also damn Julie got destroyed

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2121517#Comment_2121517

If you enjoy losing that's on you, you must be used to it. You can't close an already closed hatch an entire team can escape through with a key, and the exit gate locations are not favored towards killers unless you have whispers. They can spawn on the opposite corners of the map and while you go from one door to the other a survivor can open it and escape. It takes just 20 seconds and there are more killers than Nurse.

And I didn't cry at all, just pointed out how survivors can win the game without having to do anything, you don't even need a key just hide in a locker, let your teammates die and escape through the hatch, that's it, you won. A killer can't be afk the whole game and win.

I take 3ks as wins. I enjoy losing most of the time because at least I had fun. Of course I got used to it, survivors are supposed to escape while killers are supposed to kill. I'm not defending keys, I'm defending hatch. It gives the last survivor a chance to escape. Hatch is fine, keys aren't. Keys are getting reworked soon so you can stop crying about it.

You were also crying about how literally ALL survivors are the pinnacle of evil, and I think that's just immature af.

Oh and also killers can afk the whole game and win with NOED if all of the survivors are dumb and ignore the totems, but eh. Don't respond to this part please.

Same. Agreeing with stereotypes is typically a thing people do to purposely fan flames of a fire that is near to them. It's the bully's from highschool that created them, only maniacs or adolescents agree with them.

It's just the immature mentality of people these days, y'know? Reminds me of that one person on the forums that had a burning hatred towards streamers to the point where they admitted they would facecamp Otzdarva or something, and Scott Jund called them out on the forums. I was there to see all of it.

  • @ilovedbd123 said:

How can you close a hatch that hasn't even opened yet (keys for 2-3 man escapes aren't that common for me, but they still happen).

In that case the situation would be "keys have no counter." I agree keys are stupid broken and I can't wait for their rework, but hatch is fine.

  • @RenTheCat said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2121492#Comment_2121492

    • Why not slug

    Unbreakable is meta

    • Why not camp

Borrowed time is meta and camping will not just make the killer derank but also lose, it just buys the 3 other survivors time.

So stop crying, use the hatch like survivors love doing and ruin the killer's fun. After all, the killer has no way to counter the hatch.

Funny how when Killers break the game it's a mild inconvenience for survivors and they will still easily win without having to do anything but when Survivors break the game it's bye to killers fun.

Go keep wondering why queue times keep going up and killers keep leaving the game.

I'm a killer main and the hatch doesn't ruin my fun, I can accept the 3k without getting pissy about it. I agree that the Breakdown exploit doesn't really have many counters, but you're only being biased against survivors right now.

Also, you can counter hatch by closing it my dude. The exit gate locations are usually favored towards the killer so that doesn't seem too much to worry about.

You're the only one crying here, just wanna let you know.

Mhm, I'm a killer main so I'm glad the two of us being different mains can agree. Also, thanks for saying that to me. Probably one of the nicest things people have told me on here. :D

  • I hope they fix Breakdown before the mid-chapter update releases.

  • @RenTheCat said:

    • People will do this unfair and clearly broken stuff without thinking twice or considering the other side's fun.

    That's survivors for you.

I hate this stereotype of "killer good survivor bad."

  • I feel like there should be a killer that has a break animation that does it in one try, like how the Oni chops pallets instantly with his Demon Strike and how the Nurse instantly breaks walls in one try. Pyramid Head would be the perfect fit for that.

  • No thanks, after that sweaty Blight game against a 4-man Mither Soul Guard Breakout Breakdown team that kept running into a dead zone with no hooks for an immunity shield? This is literally just old Saboteur that can only be used once, and you have no idea how broken that'll be.

  • Hmm, let's see...

Trapper is pretty weak rn, and pretty boring to play against right now.

Myers is pretty bland at the moment, the most bland out of all of them IMO.

Freddy I feel needs a rework as well, but they already worked so hard on it.

Pig also needs a rework, her ambush sucks balls.

Spirit, we already know the answer to her.

Clown already got a rework and I really like it tbh.

I think Twins needs her gameplay adjusted to not have to rely on camping, tunneling, and slugging.

Myers is pretty outdated compared to the others IMO. It's a tie between him and Trapper in my case.

I now understand why so many of the survivors I matched with today suddenly had No Mither.

Also: this is a good example of an instance where you should be able to report someone. Just because it isn't always possible to know that someone's exploiting a bug on purpose, that doesn't mean it isn't ever possible to know. Four people who show up with Breakdown and run to the same corner like that are clearly doing it on purpose.

Mhm, this is where reporting should actually be necessary. Unfortunately, they were all on console (except one) and I was on PC so I don't think I could have gotten them punished. Correct me if I'm wrong so I can try reporting console players next time something like this happens.

I made a big mistake by not reporting them.

These are the posts that are keeping this game from any improvement.

    Please stop.

  • I have a great story to tell. I've posted it on another post, but I'm sure all of you would love to hear it, so sit back and read if you'd like. Lemme copy & paste it real quick...

I had a game as Blight against a SWF team that had 2 No Mithers and 2 saboteurs. I think all of them had Breakdown, and they were all abusing it. At that time, Breakdown was bugged (and still is).

Basically their strategy was to get hooked near each other in the corner of the map, they pulled it off sadly, and their plan was to use that corner to their advantage. The No Mither guys would run into that corner and attempt to loop me with the pallet they saved there, and if the pallet was gone they would try to just hold W to that corner and let themselves get downed there. If I tried to pick them up, the hooks would be SO far away it would have been impossible to hook them. If I left them downed there, they would have recovered up an infinite amount of times and then go to a generator. Even if I tried going to the closest one, the flashlight saver (if he was up) would try to flashlight save. If that failed, the other two would try to bodyblock and use Breakout to screw me over so that the No Mither user wiggles out. I realized what they were trying to do and I had a plan.

My plan was to try and slug them so they bleed out. "But wouldn't making them bleed out take too much time?" Yeah, you're right. But you have 0 idea how many times I've downed these guys, even I lost count. So near the end of the game, I prioritized in killing the saboteur Yui so that it would be easier for me to focus on the others, maybe allowing me to get hooks. My idea worked... sort of. I was in a perfect situation with 3 of the survivors in that corner. I downed the Feng, downed the No Mither David, left them there, David recovers up, I wait 9 seconds to down him back, their bleedout timers are almost over. Unfortunately, the other NM David was gone. He was doing a gen. I didn't care, I needed these two dead. I would take a 3k. Now this is where the miracle happens.

The Feng and the David bled out.

After finishing his gen, the other David runs to them before they bled out, but he failed them, they were already dead. Aaaand I lethal rushed and hit him, left him there to bleed out because I didn't want to risk him getting hatch. Plus it was in the corner with the 2 hooks breakdowned. Later in the game they breakdowned more hooks around that corner, so it was actually impossible to hook anyone from that corner, even without bodyblockers. I am proud to take my W. Here are the game results:

And finally, my Ace! (I swear, the hat was literally made for his outfit.)

  • I felt like the rift was underwhelming, but I still bought it because I wanted to support the design team. Plus, if I bought it now, I wouldn't have to pay 10 bucks again as long as I keep playing.

Plus, since Yui is my survivor main, I had to get those cosmetics. Oh and her Vinyl figure is cute af.

  • They kinda nerfed Trapper with the trap chance rework, but at the same time buffed him a little. Rn Trapper is in desperate need of a buff. Trapper Bag/Sack should be base-kit, and his traps should spawn closer to each other. Hell, I'd be glad if Logwood Dye became base-kit as well and nerfing Tar Bottle to work as intended as the current one with the slightly darker traps in his kit.
