This is pretty much every red rank SWF. Either you let them escape and get ######### talked, or you win and get ######### talked. Btw there was no tunneling, I don't get why he even mentioned that tbh.

There was much more said but you get the idea. The people that say "my swf group isnt like this", I find you are either not being truthful or you are in a very small minority. Red ranks are filled with nothing but this salt.

Pro tip. Turn off chat it's complete cancer. I occasionally play red rank SWF and can say with certainty neither me nor my friends have ever acted this way win or lose.

There's a difference to playing for fun AND being good at the game and being a toxic sweat squad.

9/10 times you lose to a SWF its just friends playing normally with the unfair advantage of voice comms. But chances are they were better than you anyway without it. I get accused of SWF constantly even when solo.

  • It's still a nothing change for a nothing mechanic that has literally zero affect on gameplay.

The constant tweaking of this new pointless mechanic is even more confusing then its actual existence.

Exactly. You just stand there and hold shift, and you get a fast vault because BHVR reasons.

To be fair a fast pallet vault can be done from standing and has a short duration of the animation before you jump when you're stuck in place which isn't present with a fast window vault.

Hear me out. I like that some killers are strong and you can adjust playstyle. However, I don't know how, but regardless of what perks i'm using (or even the randoms i play with) Clown always cuts me down fast.

I've tried being sneaky with Nea, Sabo with Jake, Quick'n'Quiet with Meg and Loud and brutal with David. Somehow I still die quickly???

Any tips or thoughts about this?

Drop the pallet early. He'll eventually run out of bottles (very quickly) and then he'll have to choose between breaking the pallets OR reloading OR losing ground.

If you're getting cut off by his bottles try to be less predictable and he'll waste them. His bottles are extremely limited. If he sees you running towards the shack obvciously he'll throw one ahead to slow you.

  • I don't see why they couldn't change it to a slightly thinner oval. I was playing her back when they changed the hatchets to that extremely tight 1:1 hitbox so I'm aware that would be a terrible idea

But surely an oval would be better than a big ass sphere. For killers it'd fit through gaps easier and not just break against thin air on certain loops and survivors would feel less cheated on blatant misses that can currently happen (not including the ever present latency issues, but the tickrate increase might help).

  • I dropped him when I started facing better survivors as I improved. He was my OG main but his Stalk has always been incredibly glitchy. Not Ghostface tier but it'd often just outright ignore someone I was trying to stalk on a generator because a barrel was blocking their right arm or something stupid.

I can't do anything at red rank it's just a joke. survivors easily outrun me

Legions entire design is a joke. Tedious as HELL to play against with that boring ass power and awful to play because of how long it takes to actually down someone.

Full on rework of the entire power design is needed. Not having a power that actually helps you down and just slightly slwos the game down is boring. Having to repeatadly fill ANOTHER bar to mend is boring. Being found because a teammate got messed up half the map away and then being the one who gets focused because killer instinct fed the killer is boring.

Just an awful awful killer. Once again showing the visual/sound design teams are the only consistent people working on this game.

  • -Hook a dude

-As I leave the hook I see a teammate running clear as day for the unhook

-Down him at the hook while his friend escapes

    -Start patrolling gens

-No survivors on first 4 gens

-Find an injured Laurie on a 70% complete gen

-Fails at trying to mindgame a pallet and down her

    -Get DS'd

ARgh, CURSE MY TUNNELING HANDS. Time for some self flaggelation. Oh I'm a dirty tunneler yes i am

Or you can learn how do dodge them? Iri Huntress can only have max 3 hatches with Iri, deal with it.

Tall order when latency and BASKETBALL HITBOXES are added to the equation.

Iri head needs a rework. All she needs.

But knowing the devs they'll reduce her base hatchets to 2 and make them all insta down. They love unneccesary changes.

  • Token counter on small game please.

To start off this is a non biased thread so speak up if you have an answer no matter which side you play.

So why do some players complain about second chance perks? There is quite literally almost 5 threads a day talking down people who use ds,unbreakable, noed etc. People say that these perks reward bad plays and in many cases yes it does but why complain? Example there was a thread yesterday about ds and why it's used? Then the feedback was unanimous. I kept scrolling and scrolling and I mostly saw people saying there is no counter play which is completely god awfully wrong. Then they brought up unbreakable and oh boy did all the karens start shunning and complain to everyone with a fair point.

They talked about ds and unbreakable but not noed? The main second chance perk for some killers? If you haven't guessed it most of the people in that thread didn't have a problem with noed. In case some of you new players haven't heard or seen noed well all you need to know that it's a second chance perk that makes it so if all the gens get finished then noed activates. It is a hex perk so it requires a totem so it does have counterplay but it is hard as to get through all the totems sometimes. It gives an instadown and a speed boost of 8 percent at t3.

So to sum this all up. Why do some players complain about ds,unbreakable, and noed (the main second chance perks). It does obviously rewards some bad plays because they are second chance perks. It's not like you can use those perks whenever the hell you want because they obviously have prerequisites that have to be done first.

Oh and before some of you say "YoU ObvIOusLY nEvEr pLAyeD at rEd RaNks" then just stfu because players having more skill than rank 20's isn't a goddamn excuse.

None the less I would love to hear some feedback with people who have fair points and not just pulling ######### out of their ass. Or the most common things that players say. Like there is no counterplay because there is. Don't mention swf because that is just a smart move on a players part. Finally don't mention that noed is op because that only guarantees a kill but doesn't mean the whole game goes downhill because of one unlucky player getting caught.

    I NEED ANSWERS PEOPLE!!!

You won't see good/experienced players use NOED outside of niche builds or Rift challenges. It's not particularly powerful as most games it gets triggered a gates 99% and the remaining players will either leave the killer to thier 1/2K or find the totem and go for a save. You can also disable it before it activates.

If you're observant enough you can even see if the killer has it active by how fast they're moving.

There's no way of knowing if a player has DS or Unbreakable and if picking them up/leaving them slugged to try and slow the game might end up losing you the entire match. Personally I don't mind Unbreakable as it feels less common nowadays but having been double DS'd after a triple down at a hook as LF yesterday really reminded me how toxic DS and UB together is.

Neither of those 2 I'd downed even attempted to hide or run and actively tried to bodyblock in the chase/block the hook knowing they were temporarily invincible thanks to DS and UB.

With DS your entire team technically get rewarded for your failure when it should be the opposite.

You get a stun which leads to the killer continuing to chase you, your 3 teammates get an additional chase to all work on gens. And on some maps with longer loops a chase from a DS. Especially if thhere are still a lot of pallets can be 3+ gens gone.

Before I get the 'lol dont tunnel' I NEVER hook the same survivor twice in a row but regularly take more than 1 DS per match from players who know they're invincible and caan screw me for trying to play fair.

  • @Luciferr_2nd said:

Freddy is boring to go up against, he requires no skill, and anyone can win by playing him. Its the same story every match and it gets to a point where hes just boring.

Just had a match where this freddy had devour hope and thrill of the hunt. He had both power recovery speed addons, his totems were right next to generators. There was nothing we could do, it just made the match boring and unfun because he could teleport whenever he wanted and thrill tier 3 made the cleansing ridiculously long.

Im not proposing or even asking for any changes to freddy, im just wondering if anyone feels the same way.

Whats your opinions on going against freddy?

Freddo is definitely less effort for better results compared to old Freddo. I only find him truly unfair with false pallets and slowdown perks/add ons. He is beatable even solo, you just need good teammates. His mobility could do with a nerf considering how overwhelmingly good his snares are. Just slightly lower the base recharge.

He shouldn't be rewarded for doing literally nothing. No other killer is.

  • @Mandy said:

I had it a couple of times last night, so it's definitely still in rotation

That's a right shame. Beautiful recreation I gotta say. But boy does it not work for Dbd

  • Lerys just makes me want to zone out and not really try at all. But so do all the indoors maps except maybe the game. And that;s only because once the pallets are gone the survivors have literally zero defence and it becomes a cakewalk.

Badham can go screw itself though. WAY TOO DARK as killer. And there (for some godforsaken reason) 5 different versions with only just enough differences to mildly confuse you in the moment. Hate it.

I think most of the outdoors maps are just 'fine'. The huge ones like Azarovs, blood lodge, the red forest maps and Rotten Fields need to have full on reworks and be shrunk down. Death sentence for slower killers or trap focused killers.

That said I love the Macmillan maps as either side.

I actually love Dead Dawg though mainly for the visual design. It's the only map I feel is a bit too small. And there's that one 1/4 of the map thats almost always a pointless dead zone. No pallets or gens.

  • Are we sure this system is even working? The wait times are longer than ever for me and when I get a match its usually over in under 5-6 minutes with a 4K. I'm getting put up against survivors that don't even know what a pallet is.

20 uninterrupted 4Ks as Clown. CLOWN. And it hasn't gotten any better. What's worse is I played LF for the first few days straight with the tome launch and the matchmaking there never improved either.

In the last week I've had one match where the survivors were able to make me sweat, but in the end when their DS was used up it was still a 4K I felt no excitement. At least with the old system I could enter a match uncertain of how it would end and know that I would potentially have actual challenging players.

Why didn't this system at least factor previous ranks into starting brackets beforehand?

It's the same story as a solo survivor rn except with teammates crouch walking around the map not doing gens!

From the patch notes my understanding was that a set is 2 or more cosmetics linked together to stop clipping issues. We could see this with the Nea outfit with the bald spot in the back of her head which makes sense. However, for Jane it does not as there is no reason for why her head shouldn’t be unlinked since I’m decently confident that there would be no issues with mixing them. If you guys could pls consider it, it would be greatly appreciated towards all of us Jane mains. <3 @Peanits @Almo

I get it with the Oni outfit due ot the straight up different proportions but why the heck are they doing this with Janes?

  • @SirCracken said:

Yes. You did read that title correctly.

Before the latest patch throwing bottles did not remove stacks of PWYF. Now they do.

Because with gen times at an all time low, moris and keys still in the game, almost all perks being bad, most maps being either decent or terrible, and survivors randomly making no sounds whatsoever, Clown clearly needed to be nerfed.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to down a gallon of bleach.

I want to love Clown but they won't let me.

I’m on my way to reaching red rank killer however I’m faced with matches where I don’t get every kill. I watch streamers who are seemingly flawless at killer. It gets me a little discouraged if I can’t get kills every game. So I just want to know, do the higher up’s also have bad games? They don’t possibly dominate 24/7 right?

I'd say I win the vast majority as a killer I've got a lot of time and points invested into. Four red ranks solos is usually an easy win due to the lack of info on their end. A Swf can be tought depending on their playstyle. A lot of them play fast and loose/dangerous and end up screwing themselves over, but optimal Swfs can be VERY tough to beat and it becomes largely map dependant.

An early hook is really the dealbreaker against a good team. If you don't get one before the first/second gen you won't be able to apply enough pressure.

  • @SCP_FOR_DBD said:

I understand the hate for the old version, but not really for the new version. I'm a 50/50 player, and I really don't have all that big a problem with it, certainly not as much as DS. I was playing survivor today, and ran it. The killer we were playing got a 2k (They killed the 1st at 1 gen, 2nd when exit gates were powered), after the match they got really mad about me running it, even though I only got to use it once. So is it just them? or do others feel the same?

I can't even imagine how someone can hate the current borrowed time considering its previous incarnations. It's fine. It's in a good place right now. If anyone complains about it their that should tell you all you need to know about their playstyle and why their balance opinions don't matter.

  • If I have to play for 3 months with rank 16 teammates or against rank 20s who run from pallets to their death after a 10 minute queue then I'd like the old system back.

  • @MusicNerd_TC said:

It's keys by a landslide for me. At least you have to hook someone with a mori, which can be hard against a half decent survivor. If you absolutely destroy some survivors and there are only 3 gens left and 3 survivors, they can be rewarded for playing like #########. Keys also bring up a huge dilemma.

If someone escapes with a key, the other survivors can escape, which is bad for you, or you can close the hatch and EGC is triggered. Both are bad, but keys are far worse.

An ebony or even ivory mori can have a much bigger impact than a key. And early tunnel off hook to mori will throw the balance of the match way off much like a 3 man lobby. Keys at the very least require fully completed gens. Unless its a frantic 2 man escape (which are always a punch in the gut if you're been playing well as killer). But both are equally bad for the health of the game in my opinion.

I'd LOVE to see both just permanently removed in all forms outside of Moris for devour hope or Pyramid Head. On another note I'd trade NOED or BBQ for DS to be gone forever or at least designed to be an anti tunnel perk without a second thought.

  • Is this active on Xbox? I just started playing again after the last Rift killed my motivation.

Almost all my games as killer have had 1 red rank and at least 2 greys. Sometimes above rank 15.

And as a solo survivor its nigh unplayable due to new/inexperienced teammates.

I know that spirit has been a hotly... debated... (More like 50 players just telling each other to git gud and not actually making any actual points)

Im not gonna make too much of an argument for either side here, but im just gonna describe what i do to escape a spirit.

    1) Keep distance if possible. I generally start running away as soon as im sure the spirit is heading toward me. I also just tend to hold W a lot to get to the next window / pallet ASAP

    2) If you hear the spirit's TR remain the same volume for more than a second or two, get off the generator and walk away. Then watch your idiot teammate get yoinked off the gen. Then watch your teammate DC.

3)Run through a pallet, then double back through the pallet, then drop the pallet. Then run toward the spirit's husk. The spirit will 90% of the time end up on the wrong side of the pallet and you will be 100 miles away. This works better if you follow the your own trail of scratch marks, so it looks like you just dropped the pallet and stayed at the pallet.

I generally survive much longer than my teammates against a spirit.

Imagine a fighting game where the character you're against has no animations but still has hitboxes that can do damage,. That's chases against a spirit.

  • About 2% if swf players are doing it maliciously or to troll killers. Might come as a shock but all games are more fun with friends

  • I sincerely hope they get it for ps4 and xbox. Ive spent countless hours and soh these last few years supporting this game. Now i can finally live my dream of pc mustard race but have to go back to my xbone to play dbd.

Please please please bhvr. Add cross purchase/progression so i dont lose my hundreds of pounds worth of dlc and cosmetics. if i cant get it ill just stop playing altogether tbh

  • I love playing spirit and her design but if i get caught off guard wihout iron will due to challenges or a new chharacter against i spirit ill either quit or idle out the match.

ONLY situation ill ever play that way. Pure rng for only one side is not engaging gameplay

  • Iirc it didnt affect projectile characters. And melee characters dont neet aim assist/dressing anyway.

  • I'm so wxcited for this change. TCM is a classic and I spent a short time maining Bubba along with Freddy around his release but red ranks really proved challenging. Im looking forward to go from "haha its leatherface ez" to "oh god oh ######### its leatherface"

  • So you'd rather have players running around with massively clipping monstrosities? I have no problem with it. If Jane gets one I like I'll probably buy it. I doubt this will become the new norm. it'll only be for out there designs.

  • @Gonourakuto said:

those killers have no actual counters if they can land their abilities there is no chance for the survivors to do anything about it , there is no counter or mindgame its either the killer miss or he gets the hit

tbh PH might be even more OP than deathslinger at leats deathslinger can be hindered by early pallet drop and can't get you easily through them and he isnt as fast as normal killers , PH is as fast as other killers has an easier time than most killers with not wasting time by being able to cage people and easily forget about them and his potential in chase like again deathslinger is godlike if not better because he doenst even care about pallets , PH should get slow when he make trenches he shouldnt be able to just hold it down and chase survivor like that , because then its either he catch up to you and hit you instantly normally or you find a pallet or window and he just hit you with his "no drawback power"

Break los. Than his projectile is purely luck based for him. AND its slightly telegraphed to avoid it

  • I feel like the base charge speed is way too long for this to be any good without instadown.

  • @Dreamnomad said:

People definitely overreacting. Leatherface is getting an unequivocal buff. You know how a survivor can just run around any small loop and be immune to your chainsaw attacks? Well those days are over. If you aren't near a pallet or window then bubba is gonna get you. Hillbilly is getting a nerf. There is no "upside" to the change for him other than the add on and perk reworks. But it isn't as bad as people are making it out to be either.

this. Y'all never played LF if you think hes nerfed. You can sprint around ROCKS AND TIRES right now and his larger hitbox would make him lose distance.

Was that happening so frequently, though?

Idk, I play PH and I can't say I even get near the cages. The whole point of em is to ship a survivor off n focus on your current area instead.

It happened frequently enough that since launch I had never played a PH that didnt do this.

  • Because pyramid head going straight to the cage that was unaffected by surv perks had less counterplay than camping aleady has amd makes for boring gameplay. If you play this way you might aswell just watch paint dry for all the entertainemnt people are getting out of it

Just had a game where 3 clauds left me to die on hook after the last gen was done. 1 of them was being chased after trying to save me so I don’t blame her. But the other 2 just waited by both exit gates and stood there. I went into struggle still nothing. I’m mainly angry about it because I ran the killer around for 4 gens and they couldn’t even help in the end after I literally gave them the freedom to do gens with no worry about being caught.

Finally as I’m about to die one of them comes towards me but oh? They found hatch so instead of going to me she popped the hatch and left. The other one? Hiding in a locker by the gate across the map. It’s also not like they didn’t know what was going on because I have kindred so they could all see where they were. So they blatantly just did not care. I consider that gameplay sabotage tbh because they had the entirety of 2 hook phases to get me and refused to do so after all gens were done and both exit gates were 99%.

Best of all, the claud that tried to save me but got chased got knocked hooked, the other person unhooked them and ran. Killer just knocks her again and carries her to the open exit gate and lets her escape. I really honestly feel like I have encountered WAY more toxicity on switch than I have on Xbox.

I reallllllly wish Nintendo allowed messaging and party chat so I could have a few words with them because honestly that’s just fked up to just abandon someone and not give a flying Fck. In my opinion a lot of players both killers and survivors on Switch are way bigger a holes than on Xbox or other platforms because they know u can’t message them or do anything to call them out. That’s just based on my personal experience with the game. Yes there’s toxicity on every platform but I feel switch has the biggest pool of it.

People can play how they like as long as they aren't cheating/actively trying to ruin the game. I'd love if Xbox/Steam didn't have messages.

I've been told to kill myself/mass reported/told to die from a terminal illness upwards of 200 times since i started in 2017. Simply because if NOED was active I'd just leave. Or my teammates all got downed around 1 hook and the killer rightfully camped them all so I repaired gens and grabbed the hatch.

If you're teammates leave you on the hook to instead focus on an escape thats perfectly reasonable.

The first rift had by far the hardest challenges. Four pallet stuns in one game? Kill all four survivors in the basement? Escape as Claudette? Nothing compared to that level of difficulty. They literally nerfed the challenges mid-rift.

The only challenge I never completed in 1 was the four pallet stuns. Its just not possible unless you derank to go against newbies, which I have no interest in doing. Four survivors in the basement is easier than most think and a pretty common occurence for me as killer.

I do think they really haven't learned anything from the feedback.

  • MEh. Those add ons are all trash anyway. With base you know you have 1 EW2 and 7 possible EW3s. Using those add ons messes with the formula and most survivors will hide from a T3 wasting it anyway.

  • I still feel a little tricked by all the marketing and hype behind Legion. I feel like their power design and initial reaction has irreperably tarnished them. People hate them when they're weak or strong and a lot of people say its the single worst chapter ever released.

But my progress on PS4 is way more ahead. So I was wondering if I can merge these accounts later on?

Otherwise it would make no sense to keep playing on PC, since I can play with my PS4 account on PC in the midterm?

    Thank you.

P.S. I already bought the game two times --> GG.

Same here. Migrated to PC recently and while I do own the game and will be playing the PTB I'll be continuing on Xbox for the forseeable future.

I'm not throwing away 3 years of progress and DLC/Cosmetic purchases.

  • The only RE villain that could be visually iconic enough to work is Nemesis. And his minigun/flamethrower/rocket launcher wouldn't really fit well into DBD.

Tyrant maybe due to his running lunge I guess. And if they did use Nemmy it would be his awful Coke bottle redesign from the remake.

  • I can't imagine wanting Candyman. Such a nothing movie and I only found out recently it had sequels somehow. Alien is cool but I can't see it working.

SH 2 and 3 are two of my top ten games of all time but I never imagined this could be a possibility. I still want Jason but as far as we know he'll always be off the table so this will do for me.

  • Same here. It also makes me wonder if Konami has plans for the series considering they licensed this out. BHVR if you're reading. Please, please, please add a James outfit. I love Heather but James is the man for this DLC. Not to mention his story potentially allowing an easier explanation for him being in the entitys's realm than Heather

The problem is with the new design is one change and he'll be impotent.

Take away the teleport goodbye map pressure

Nerf the snares goodbye chase potential

Allowing survivors to wake up at any clock would be nice. Making it always the furthest one is db and removes any choice in the matter.

Why would i waste 30 or more seconds when I could continue my gen and I only get 60 seconds out of sleep anyway?

And getting hit also puts me in, aswell as speeding up his teleport

He already gets slowdown in low rarity add ons that are ran every game.

I dont really want him 'nerfed' as I've been a part freddy main since day 1 of his OG release but hes ratjer dull to both play as and against. Win or lose

  • @Mon_Tizzle said:

This is a problem I been having with the game as I've been ranking up. When playing against a Freddy I feel he gets so much for doing so little, if I go against a good nurse or Billy I feel I get out skilled but if I go against Freddy I feel like killer's kit got me not the player. The passive sleep overtime rewards them for just playing the killer and pallets and snares are just m2 pushes with no thought most off the time. I wish they would add the drag people to sleep function back instead of the overtime stuff.

a good killer will do better with freddy than any other killer sans an expert huntress or nurse

He gets map pressure for nothing (this is multiplied further by dream slowdown add ons), its harder to determine his location even outside of the dream world than other heartbeat killers due to rather unneccesary invisibility, he doesnt lose bloodlust for using his power in a chase yet his power is designed to be actively used in a chase aswell as outside.

And he can see survivors easier from longer range in the dream thanks to the white outline.

Its nice to see him not being gutter tier anymore but I genuinly think his skill floor is too high. Anyone can throw pop and noed on him and get a 4K at this point

  • Your only hope with these challenges in red ranks is a trade hit and thats basically a death sentence. this challenge is awful

  • I only mori on the final hook. Feels cheap otherwise. And I enjoy longer matches.
