Hud looks weird I agree. I think the fact that it isn't dynamic with cosmetics (at least from what we've seen) will be very confusing.
Undying change is fine. Nerfed Ruin synergy but way more use with other hex perks now.
Clown is not what I was expecting. The yellow gas doesn't seem like it'll have that much utility but I'll have to test it in the PTB. Feels like the main strat for antidote is throw it between you and the survivor for 10% free speed.

Say that after you lose your first hex 30 seconds in lol
I'm going to anyway if I'm against smart players. They've just made it more manageable for solo players who can't communicate between themselves.

The change seems heavy handed but I'm so incredibly thankful to the devs. I don't have to immediately give up any hope of getting more than 2 gens done when paired with random teammates after this change and it'll actually be worth the time spent to look for the totems. And I don't use the combo on killer due to how much I dislike it so I'm entirely unaffected.
Side note: I think the token transfer change will make Devour Hope and Third Seal appealing.
This. I don't think it was OP but it made solo survivor nigh unplayable if you had just one weak link.

At the same time we have DS running unchanged for 2 years being one of most overpowered survivor perks that is very fine.
Not really unchanged... Though in the end the rework ended up making that perk even stronger. Honestly, at this point I don't want it reworked again as it'll probably crash killers games next time on hit or something.
-
"down to nothing". Lol it has more utility than it did originally now. If you're still an actually good killer getting hooks survivors will be wasting time trying to find it and not doing gens. And now Devour can be used in conjuction with it.
God this forum us going to be a steaming pile for the next few weeks. I knew this would happen with Undying. Too many killers using it as training wheels and overrelying on it.

You were a fun perk while you lasted, you protected my totems dutifully. But we can't ignore that you were an RNG based perk that could be removed 30 seconds into the game, or easily seen with a map or two other perks. Or the fact that dull totems could be removed before the hex perks could be transferred. I guess survivors can't resist gens so much that they can't hop off one to do bones for extra points.
You will be missed
Not too torn up. It's still decent it just won't carry as many killers. Personally I'd have been fine with just removing aura reading. Their reasoning is sound though. It was a hex that removed the main weakness of hex perks.
I got bored of Ruin/undying very quickly due to how uninteractive it is. Can't wait for all the rank 10 killers to clog up the forums with "dbd is dead" posts.
-
She should. But I've never been fond of that mechanic. You had it on the at the time weakest killer in the game where it was very easy to do, and simultaenously on the best killer in the game where its was nearly impossible to actually do.
It also begs the question of how it'd work. Aim at the husk? Way, way too easy and would single handedly make her low tier. Aim at her while invisible? Would be way to hard if the timing was fair, and if you made it instant with a stun it would be too easy to just wave a FL back and forth.

More than a few times, as a killer I pick up a survivor, another survivor runs up TOO late to get the flashlight save, they start the blind anyways, I turn 180 degrees from the blind.... I'll say this again, I turn 180 degrees AWAY FROM THE BLIND, and like magic, I'm blinded and they get the save.
I know it's not just me, I see this happen to other killers and it's pisses me off to see it happen to them as well.
It's time to tweak your numbers again.
Other than that and a few other things, I generally happy with the state of dbd.
Thanks <3
-my post was edited by the forum mod... in the beginning I stated that I had bad language in my post, because of how pissed off I was. I also said I would calm down in a few min. after I get this off my chest, witch I did, but this unnecessary edit just pissed me off again, THANKS.
Most likely Latency. Also chances are you were at 99% and it triggered at the last possible second. I've never been an actual 180 degree and had this happen. You probably turned significantly less than you're saying. Or you have a bad connection and thats why this is happeneing.
It IS possible to get blinded slightly out of your site range when timed perfectly. Which is extroardinarily dumb, but I assume thats to do with potential FOV increasing perks like M&A and Shadowborn. Happened to me a few times and doesn't feel very fair.
It's also possible, while rare that there were two survivors one either side. This has happened to me before and the red/white screen has prevented me from even seeing the other survivor, causing me to think I was cheated when I just got outplayed.
-
I preferred the old version. Punish a survivor that gets too bold with a FL or Med Kit by destroying it if the charges are low enough. Now its just "ima hit you and stay near the hook wave goodbye to that item lol".
-
The main problem I have with Obsession perks is that killer ones all come with a downside.
Eg: Having to build up Tokens that you'll lose if hitting said obsession, having to find the obsession and waste time dropping chases for a minimal speed boost. Causing you to have to ignore them to play optimally and take full advantage of them.
Meanwhile actually being the obsession isn't really an issue, all killer obsession perks encourage ignoring the obsession outright for as long as possible, increasing their escape odds and ability to gain rank points and BP. And the survivor ones (outside of Sole Survivor) give an incredibly strong effect with minimal downsides. Imagien if Dyling Light permanently gave the obsession a 20% repair speed slowdown at the risk of giving them that 50 or even 100% altruism speeds.
Using an obsession perk literally deincentivises chasing them at all. You're more likely to survive WITH one active, yours or otherwise, than without.
It's bizarre. I get why it was changed as old Dying Light encouraged Mori tunneling but right now it just feels silly that I go "Oh you're the obsession my B as you were".

BHVR is not favoring survivors.
People who say "boo hoo surv bias" weren't here for the nearly two straight years of (absolutely deserved in most areas) survivor nerfs. Pallet vacuum, fast vault nerf and instablind removal for example.

Same here. Pessimism is key. You're either correct or pleasantly surprised by the outcome.
-
The problem is too many killers think they're gods gift to DBD and because they 4kd a lot against beginner/mid ranks that means they should be able to every game. There's a lot of boosted players on both sides.
Being a good killer doesn't suddenly mean every survivor is skill-less.

Yeah isn't it 75%? Solo that would be 20 seconds. Not 24.

This perk is just dreadful to face as solo now. Getting gens finished with any semblance of coordination just gets thrown into the trash, set of fire, and burned to hell. Trying to get gens finished as a solo becomes frustrating.
I still think its mediocre and am suprised it took off recently. I can only assume people saw Streamers using that meta build with Blight and just decided its good for all killers.
Seriously I've seen Slingers using that build its ridicolous.
-
Its ok. I see it more as a synergy perk. Works well with Flop Flop. Its clearly meant to be used in conjuction with teammates body blocknig so it doesn't have much utility for solo players.

I mean that's you're opinion if pyramid head wants to look like he's gliding then that's fine, it's alot of ground to cover. This such a strange reason to not want Nemesis in the game.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1855931#Comment_1855931
Nemesis is the more iconic and better variant of all the Tyrant's.All Tyrant's use their fist, and claws due to their mutation.Nemesis is very unique his mutations made him the strongest tyrant.Hes a fan favorite since his inception in 1999. Three decades he's been in multiple crossovers, and was a featured character in the movie's.Mr X is just another monster from that universe and that's all plus he got killed by Birkin who couldn't beat Nemesis in the comics.
I just don't think he fits the horror theme. 3 was when RE went all in on action, like the game starting with Jill front flipping out of an exploding building. Hence the big guy with a rocket launcher chasing you. If they wanted a more horror focus I'd personally choose one of the OG Tyrants. Nemesis isn't 'scary', he's intimidating.
I mean, of these two the Tyrant is definitely more unnerving.
Nemesis has the weird mouth and tendrils, but his ability to lay traps and talk showed a level of thought that makes him less of a mindless killing machine than the OG tyrant. Personally thats less creepy to me. He was also completely destroyed at the end of RE3 whereas there were multiple tyrants as shown in RE0.
Also he'd have to have a ranged weapon to be nemesis and we already know how that went with Deathslinger.

I envy you right now. At red ranks as killer I exclusively get greens and purples in UK/EU at peak times. Games are too easy and its becoming stagnant.
I assume its just there aren't enough red rank killers for the sheer number of survivor son at peak times, but it doesn't explain stuff like this.

The could just make every door top auto break when Nemesis enters a tight area or a punch animation I think both works though.
Possessed Mia is the choice in my opinion and should could have a cool and wierd power. Her main ability would be the chainsaw ,she could break into small sprint's to close gaps (loops, jungle, gyms, to cut chase short to injure survivor's not instantly though. Her special ability could be called (Pin) not finale on the name,I'm just calling it that for now .So she would pick you up with her super human strength and Pin you to a wall with her screw driver,Then she will dismember you're hand and she'll be stunned or be transported away from you want see it happen she'll just disappear, this gives you bad status or something Mia drops the hand in whatever location she appears in ,survivor's could recover the hand if the can find it which it just attaches back or could give survivor's cool little sewing animation to attach there hand back ,you should be able to see the stitches not professionally done of course .once the hand is attached Mis can see the hands aura though within a certain range but disappears after some in her radius, something like I'm all ears well pretty much like I'm all ears. Just my opinion.

Nemesis would just be power walking how would look stupid? Plus Nemesis would have the most interesting powers.
I mean, Pyramid heads walk cycle, while incredibly accurate to SH2 still looks silly at the speed he moves at. He glides across the floor like he's on dancing with the stars. Imagine that with 9 foot tall Nemesis. A light jog would look dumb, a walk would look awful, and they aren't going ot have OG RE3 sprinting Nemesis. There's also the problem with his weaponry.
An RPG/FLamethrower/Minigun is too "actiony" it wouldn't really be a scary design at all.
X wouldn't make sense as all he has are punches but the RE1/0 Prototype tyrant would fit perfectly. Don't get me wrong as a child Nemesis terrified me. But as an adult of all the major BOW designs the OG tyrant is by far the most disturbing.

@dbd900bach said:
As much as I like the idea, I'd rather not have Nemesis in the game for the soul reason that he doesn't fit the game as well as you think. Making him a dbd killer is a downgrade from what he's actually capable of. A massive hulking monster able to break through solid brick walls with ease, take grenades to the face and still truck on like it never happened, downgraded into a killer that gets stunned by a peice of wood, can't break walls and with all that so called strength it still takes two kicks to break said peice of wood. I doubt they will pick Nemesis and if they do, the game play will NEVER live up to the experience players expect from a monster like Nemesis but there one thing I agree on. It would be scary as hell to be chased by Nemesis.
This. Not even the 3 Remake got Nemesis right.
-
RE1 Tyrant would be the better choice. No ranged weaponry, scarier design. Also wouldnt look goofy running like Nem and X would.
-
They just need to remove Evil Within 1. Games are significantly faster than they were when he was added. EW1 is outdated.
@ChantyBoi said:
Wholeheartedly disagree. Simply integrating J Myers Memorial and Hair Bow changes myers by such an insanely drastic degree. If those two items were integrated into his basekit it would make him FAR more viable and possibly even a threat.
Bow would make him worse if they kept EW3 gain the same. You'd get less overall EW3s and everyone outside of the 1st person you downed would hide it out.

What? It's happened to me twice in a year and I play 5-10 games per day. It happens in low ranks not red ranks it's super rare.
This. A high rank killer is losing if he facecamps. That's assuming his opponents know how to play at all.
Also facecamping was patched out years ago. You're talking about "camping"

@Junylar said:
It's still a wonder why it's not affected by Unnerving Presence and Enduring. Enduring reduces your stun duration is reduced, but not for DS, nope: DS is an exception! Unnerving Presence even says plainly: "Triggered Skill Checks' success zones are reduced by 40/50/60 %." Well, for every skillcheck in the game EXCEPT DS, because DS is an exception again! They basically nerfed the only perks that could counter it so that they don't counter it anymore, as if DS was too weak of a perk and nobody wanted to use it.
Doesnt affect enduring because it made head on useless, which was a problem as it was an always active passive that took no brains to use.
And compromising with just making it affect ds would be a cop put design change.
-
It's absurd to me that they still haven't done this. Especially back when we had serperate versions with no cross play Huntress couldn't have aim assist because of 'parity'.
-
How exactly would they quantify that? Just using rank 1 would dilute it a lot as 90% of red ranks are boosted trash.
-
I see totems more like an optional objective in an RPG. Something that makes the endgame of the quest or game easier. Like recruiting the Boomer or Enclave Remnants for the battle of Hoover Dam in New Vegas.
-
I always wanted a shopping mall map but I'd want it to be open, like a seating/food court area. Not like the other indoors maps and all their LOS breakers.
-
Yeah that one really good survivor who gets let down by 3 potatoes should be punished that hard. You don't alwa
ys deserve the 4K just because you outplayed the other 3.Personally I've never really had a problem with it since they added the ability to close it. I did hate the old hatch standoffs and the fact that they were basically a lose/lose for killer. I would just smack the survivor and move on. Its not like you get that much more point for the 4K compared to the 3 anyway.
-
They really really need to remove perk levels. There's too many perks to justify its continued existence. I wanted to try out surge on my P3-50 Doc a while back. It took about 40 level 50 bloodwebs to get level 1.
-
Just add rank decay and make ranking up harder. Reset is crap. makes solo unplayable for 3-4 days and killer a potato farming sim
-
Even with these tactics, much like hit and run wraith you're relying on survivors being greedy and not playing smart. I only see legions get maybe more than 1 kill when teammates greed a gen instead of running the second they hear the heartbeat on frenzy
-
Im bored of it as killwr. O switched back to just corrupt for slowdown. Makes me more aware of if im actually playing well or being carried by it.
As survivor its so common I just threw on small game and repressed alliance.
Prettt dull but nerfing it would just bring back the corrupt/pop meta. 90% of experienced killers dont even need these perks to play well but they're so obsessed with the 4k or the rare sweat squad that they rely on them too much.

Game is being very unfair with killers for this...
1) Because premades of survivors, 4 people talking to each other and coordinating all time is the most broken.thing in the game. You guys need to stop this, make something like close all apps like teamspeak/discord/etc when the game is running and you are playing as survivors. Or mute all the mics. Or that you can't play with added friends, but you can speak inside the game during the trial. Or something else, but you need to fix this unbalance point.
2) The nerf to Ebony Memento Mori is unfair with killers also, since is a ultra rare offering and need 2 hooks for work, means 8hooks to complete work for all survivors. And the survivors still got ultra rare keys that can open hatch in 1 single try, and they can have multiple of those by trial.
The problem is that most of these advantages only come through or can be possibly capitalised on when in a group with comms. In slightly nerfing SWF players you're massively nerfing solo players. And solo A. Make up the majority of survivors, and B. Has been nerfed enough.
As a solo player myself I struggle to motivate myself to play survivor in red ranks anymore.

The issue is the reveal mechanic is very poorly coded.
You need to see 25% of Ghosty's model but only within the "reveal zone" of the survivor's camera. The issue? It's determined by your *canera* meaning ANY hitbox, including your own, can cover Ghosty's enough and cancel the reveal. Most of the "reveal zone" is at the center of your camera, where your model will be covering most of it.
Another thing is peeking. Sometimes enough of his shoulder is exposed that you can reveal him before his stalk buffer ends. Other times you just can't.

It's the curse of the Pig, when you're playing as her, every Survivor gets their RBT off first try, when you play against her (especially solo q) it's always the last box.
They get it off first try because you can't see them. It's the same situation as mindbreaker. You're getting a benefit from it. You just can't see it so it seems like ti doesn't exist.

Blight is very strong. He takes time to learn before you can start 4King. You have to work for your kills which is more than can be said for half the other top tier killers right now.
-
From what I hear many long term pig mains DON'T want a garuanteed way o fgetting it off after 2-3 boxes as the times where its on the 4-5th, while rare, makes her considerably stronger.
Personally I think her bear traps have always been fine. It's the end game changes that made her weaker.

I personally dont play her like that. What I've learned with playing her is she can get alot of people injured fast so that's what I do. Constantly switching targets. I get someone with victor then walk over to somebody else.
Think of it like an oni/legion playstyle cuz she can get rlly good with snowballing as well if given the opportunity
True. But snowballing on is more reliant on survivors misplaying than the killers actual skill. Legion punishes survivors teaming up, if they spread out hes powerless. Oni punishes not healing, but if a good looper denies the hit long enough you can never even get access to your power.
Twins is just loop if healthy and split up if injured. Twins cannot even come close to countering a good looper and dropping a chase just sets you up for more looping. Then theres the meta perk unbreakable
-
Shes very weak and the most effective way of playing her is very boring and slow.
Theres not much point in putting time it to "learn" her when her only effective playstyle against a good team is proxy camping.
I can count my post-PTB matches against her on one hand and I play killer and survivor daily.
-
I've yet to see this perk used in a chase when I don't still have LOS on the survivor or at the very least can see their foot running round a corner. Nerfing it seems weird as it doesn't seem particularly strong. Then again they nerfed Coup de grace.
