The removal of Auras when a Hex Totem is being cleansed and the first Hex Totem that's cleansed will always be Undying (even if there are 5 Hex Totems on the map). Totally seems like a buff to me.

The trade off for that is that it now keeps tokens so it isn't exclusively useful with Ruin. It has way more build potential now. I can't believe anyone actually thinks this is a significant nerf. I think it should maybe allow 1 extra totem destroy at level 3 but I can see that being a problem if they went with keeping tokens.

And I'd rather have a perk that works with multiple other perks than exclusively working with 1 (passive, very boring to use) perk.

People that are genuinly upset about this are just afraid to leave their comfort zone and try something new.

I always wonder who these killers are that cry about ds und unbreakable? Most killer games are boring and way too easy. The matches against competent survivors may not give you many or any kills at all, but the chase interactions and mind games make them the most enjoyable.

I take a challenging game where i get no kill against a good survivor group any time of the day instead of a boring easy 4k against potatoes.

"I take a challenging game where i get no kill against a good survivor group any time of the day instead of a boring easy 4k against potatoes". This is what I want. I don't know what happened to matchmaking but this is all its been for me since shortly after Blight's launch. There's absolutely nothing fun about slaughtering a team of default Meg/Neas who don't know what a loop is or run into their own entity blockers.

I'm fine with 1-2 kills or maybe less if the match is tense and exhilarating. If you play well and spread you hooks/get lots of chases thats a safety pip at least anyways. In the past 3 or so months I've had exactly 1 match like that I remember.

  • There's perks that can increase it.

Also I know it might sound silly but I've always found it silly that RNG can potentially snowball killer into a loss because one player got lucky.

But was she playing well? Just because you're a good killer doesn't mean you will play well every game and deserve to win every game, lets also not forget that at the end of the days she's a huntress main.

This is something more people need to understand. A lot of killers and survivors fall into this trap. I think its why so many players are so incredibly toxic post-game if they lose.

Skill is just one of the variables that can affect the outcome of a match. As killer you've probably played more games then you think where you only won against a team because 3 of the survivors SHOULD have won but were sandbagged by a terrible 4th wasting pallets early or chasing to gens (I had a Dwight single handedly prevent a 4 man escape earlier because he kept hiding by the hook without Iron Will, for example).

I think the mentality happens because as a survivor you're 1 of 4. So you know you aren't the only one affecting your escape chance. You get used to losing due to circumstances out of your control. But if you've played with SWF from early on you're probably used to winning so good killers throw you off.

In low level/new player matches the game is incredibly in the killers favor, which can make new killers expect a 4K every game. But once you reach mid to high ranks it evens out a bit more.

As killer its all on you, so it makes some players think their skill alone should determine the win. It's nothing bad. Eventually if you play the game enough you'll shake off the mentality. But some players can't and just complain about how everything is "unfair" and there was "nothing they could do". The same type of players that would accuse you of cheating in fighting games because you spent the time to learn the combos and frame data and they're just button mashing or refusing to block.

I see complaints about killer/survivor balance on here sometimes that actually make me laugh out loud with how absurd and potentially game breaking it would be because someone had a bad game and came on here to vent.

There isn't much that can be done about this mentality. Attempts to give advice are usually rebuffed and just laughing at them enforces it further. Just have to accept they exist I guess.

I've played for maybe 4 years now somewhere in there. And I think killer is at peak levels of being unfun. I don't really feel like giving a long list of reasons why as it should be apparent. Mainly extremely quick gens, more lack luster perks, stronger surviors perks, good killer perks getting the shaft. I want to play more than a few killers at high ranks to have an enjoyable time but rarely does that happen.

Same here but the opposite. I'm finding killer too easy to the point of boredom. I like those matches where I just win/lose by a hair but they're practically non-existent nowadays. It's just one sided slaughters against average players. THe queues are instant, sure. But I'm not enjoying the matches.

Im am 100% positive i have killed more than 20 megs and maybe even jakes but i don't have their faces.

I remember getting them all on the third day or so of his release so I don't think so. That said they've been bugged before.

I know im speak only for myself and you have more data, but i just wanted to say it. I have 2300 hours since Aug. 2018 in DbD, so i play a good amount.

I dont know what changed, but i was level 63 after finishing the challenges, normally im atleast 69.

This makes a huge difference for me bc i dont like to grind the last levels. I know from experience that when i play a game only to grind for something with a timelimit, i see the game as a burden and stop playing it.

So when this stays, i will stop with the rift. When i stop with the rift, i will play less. When your intention is to keep players playing with the rift, its contraproductive for me.

The second rift was the only one that didn't feel tedious.

I struggled with plague til i changed my playstyle. My first goal in the match is to infect everybody. I almost never infect someone fully and hit them. I let time do it. Sometimes i take the easy M1 too when they are not fully infected. They get their sprintboost from the hit, but now they cant afford to get close to me anymore. When nobody cleanses, i wait for the perfect moment to use my only pool.

I can still loose, because they do not cleanse and i waste my only pool, but i get better results with it.

I copied more or less otz playstyle and i got a 15 win streak without addons at red rank. And i still have lots to learn with her.

Yeah my game plan is to use Corrupt and puke on the 5 gens (assuming I get a good spawn) and hope that they don't try to wait it out. Luckily outside of a 4man SWF you'll always get someone who doesn't want to risk a hook with no gen progress. The 1 corrupted pool did help a lot. But after that if the team decides to cleanse near completed gens or dead zones it can be quite a time sink.

I've been considering maybe End/Fury on her just to give her a boost in chases but its getting the pallet dropped thats the problem.

She has a design quirk like Pig that I'm not really fond of, in that you really need the survivors to be impatient to excel.

  • My major problem with Plague is that her height compared with a lack of mobility or chase power makes chases against a good looper nigh unwinnable. I also think that having to go so far out of the way for your timed power that people can easily hide from just doesn't justify building up to it. Sure, Micheal isn't ranged and is timed. But he can pop it at any time with no warning or slowdown. There's a map wise sound effect aswell as a visual notification just incase you weren't paying attention.

I really like her visual design and concept but just don't enjoy playing her at all. In the rare case I give her a chance I get my ass handed to me moreso than usual.

And when I play against her (incredibly rare) most matches end with her camping 1 player for the kill with the gates open.

I totally agree! I think that removing just Claudette's and/or Jake's skins will be problematic, so I think an "all-or-nothing" approach is the best stand.

By using these new cosmetic ideas (the aprons/momentos from survivors) it will effectively give the people who earned those awful skin tone cosmetics something else in exchange (which would probably need to be cleared with the rights-holder(s) first) while at the same time removing blackface & yellowface - disgusting, racist parodies of POCs that have existed long into US history and beyond - effectively giving the racists one less thing to use against players to taint the community.

it won't stop the racists, but we shouldn't make harassment easy for them.

I get where you're coming from but personally I'm against it. I've actually been hoping they'd add more faces over time. It works a lot better with the horror vibe and tone and I don't think anyone that isn't looking for outrage is actually offended by it. If they understand the character of Leatherface they really shouldn't be. And if they don't understand his character they probably don't play the game.

Horror is supposed to make you uncomfortable, and racial politics are deeply embedded in horror. One of the most popular/succesful horror films of recent memory was entirely based around this (get out).

On the same note I think you're complaining more about a player problem then a character problem.

I recently returned to PC gaming and started playing TF2 again for the first time since I was an edgy teenager. And while there were always goofy/shock factor names players would use or tag their weapons with (Kurt cobain's microphone for shotguns, R Kellys spirit for Jarate were some I remember) nowadays there's a lot of outright racist names/descs on Demomans items or Nazi stuff on the Medic. But removing all these cosmetics/items and punishing the good players that enjoy them because a few bad eggs are going out of their way to make something offensive isn't the answer.

These people exist in every community and if tame items like Leatherface's masks or the Medics German inspired items had to be removed because of people making something its not, we'd be seeing games being censored and reworked near constantly. Freedom of consequence it what keeps these people going. If this is a problem for you make a detailed report to the dev team.

I consider myself a pretty progressive person, I'm very live and let live so I'm not gonna boycott the game or anything if the devs do decide this is a problem and its hurting too many people, but I would be disappointed at a loss of character, especially considering LF's mental state is "pure" in a bizarre way. There's no black or white for Leatherface "There's people who are family and strangers who must die to protect my family" is as far as his reasoning goes.

This is nothing like the Mettle of Man route.

First off Mettle of Man was nerfed in 2 weeks. Undying's been around for 3 months now. Second, Mettle of Man is right now almost completely useless and you have to play suboptimally to get it to even just get it work, and the benefit of doing so is negligible after sacrificing yourself 3 times to do it.

Undying at least works 100% of the time each time you bring it to the match and it does what it is supposed to do, and it's a very tangible and powerful effect. Then you get free aura reading on top of it. Killers like to downplay the importance of Aura Reading a lot as if it didn't matter, but Aura Reading is always good. DBD is a game that thrives on information. Knowing where to go and what to do at the right time is what separates newbs from good players in this game.

Agreed not comparable. You have to waste a large amount of time and potentially lose the game for your team for Mettle. Undying/Ruin is basically a passive that you throw on and turn your brain off. You don't have to deviate from your usual gameplay to capitalise on it at all. That said MoM would have killed this game without the nerf.

I think ds would be better if it turned off when you, (heal, work on a gen, and maybe even if you go in a locker) it's meant to stop killers tunneling, not just a get out of jail of free card.

This but if being chased the timer doesn't go down. True anti-tunnel not anti-momentum and would punish tunnelers more than it does currently (which is not much).

  • People always seem to forget that Jake is Korean also. Racist impressions/outfits based on Asians and Asian culture have existed for just as long if not longer but no one seems to care about that.

  • The problem with these changes you propose is that the game is only survivor sided when facing a team of 3-4 players with voice comms. As the level of organisation they get when they have constant knowledge of where the killer is and where to lead them in a chase can be staggering and unbeatable.

Solo survivor is already harder than it needs to be and these changes would make it even worse. And the majority of players (according to stats released) are solo by far. This would either drive more players to SWF (thus nullyfying any changes and making it harder for you) or get them to stop playing outright.

I'm at the end of my rope as a solo player myself.

In regards to your perk changes -

Borrowed Time is in a fine spot. It's been nerfed significantly several times over the years, in the past it was the embodiment of "get out of jail free" now if a killer is actually hard camping it pretty much just forces a hook trade.

Adrenaline is a good perk and I'd even say its healthy for the game. It rewards players for playing their objective.

Iron Will is a glass cannon perk, make normal breathing play while injured or lower the reduction and you'll kill it thus making the meta even stricter. You'd also see less stealth builds and more looping focused builds.

OoO agree with you that something should change

Dead Hard is an incredibly strong perk in the right hands but it has some tells; survivor looking back at you constantly? They turn to you while chasing? They have Dead Hard. Wait it out and punish them or herd them to an area with no remaining pallets or a dead zone.

    On to items -

Keys are a problem right now but we should wait to see what they have in store.

Toolboxes have been nerfed to a pretty staggering degree already in the last year or so so I don't think they need any further changes.

Medkits are fine too outside of the Stypic Agent essentially being pre-nerf Mettle of Man with even less requirements. And healing speed was nerfed a while back anyway. There's also a ton of way the killer can extend healing through perks and add ons.

Yeah, so it's the piece i'm talking about lol like no one even had a chance to be injured we just died from an instant mori... Yeah i know that he was in tier 3 the issue isnt that. the issue is the fact that he can mori a survivor just straight from tier 3 without doing any hooks or anything of that sort. Also imagine a killer who has play with your food or speed stacks. Instead of being punished as an instant down you just die right away. That add on is broken and should be removed.

Agreed then. Tombstone piece is busted thanks to no drop in movement speed and faster charge. It is essentially an add on version of the green mori.

2019 imo wasn't a good year at all for the game. The game once again started becoming extremely unbalanced due to the typical BHVR stuff. They would nerf one thing on one side that would heavily skew the game to the other side. They have a habit of being like "oh X for the killer is strong and Z for survivor is strong so we'll get rid of X now and then look at Z at a later time" and yes they've done things like "X for survivors is strong and Z for killers is strong, we'll get rid of X and look at Z at a later time."

Like the whole mori nerf. I am over the moon excited that they finally changed it to death hook in order to get moried. I love that change. But keys are untouched. Now 6 or 7 out of 10 of my games one of the other survivors have a key, do nothing but get free hatch escape. I'm tired of being solo survivor filled with potato teammates escaping cuz they hide with a key

There were definelt some weird balance changes that year as there are every year. But I'd consider the new content and additions from PTBs to be the best year ever for this game.Think thats why 2020 DBD feels so wack and boring to play, at least to me.

Matchmaking has gotten so much worse in 2020 that its actively keeping me away from the game.

  • @Chchchcheryl said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/218425/nerf-exhaustion-perks

Nerfing any and all exhaustion perks to this extent effectively makes it useless!

I understand the famous "E to outplay" perk is annoying, I dont like when people dead hard out of a calculated dead end I've created, but it's the way things go, we have perks to circumvent things survivors do to outplay us, just because we dont like it doesnt mean survivors shouldn't get it!

But preventing chase interactions after use literally makes it useless, dead Harding doesnt give enough distance for a chase advantage, it gives enough distance to CREATE a chase advantage

    In the end

Posts like this make people look entitled

On both ends stuff like this could be argued

The only thing that is worth pointing out is DS Unbreakable because yeah that is broken

But exhaustion perks are completely manageable, not to mention you're very unlikely to get them back in a chase unless it's a very, very long one, in which case the exhaustion perk is earned back, even then, a smart killer would have left the survivor by then to create pressure!!

So... in short, no, exhaustion perks should not be nerfed that's a bloody stupid idea

This. Theres 1 or 2 survivor perks that would be justified in being nerfed. Exhaustion perks aren't any of them.

  • Exhaustion perks are perfectly fine imo. THe only outlier is dead hard (also knows as E to outplay) but even that has its weaknesses. Lithe is OK and Sprint Burst is fine for isolated gens but thats about it. It was broken back before exhaustion existed and when it went down in a chase. But after the removal of cooldown whilst running these perks are more fairly balanced imo. Any further nerfs like increased cooldown or lower speed boost would simply make them less worthwhile and lead to an even more stagnant meta.

Also that sprint burst nerf, to put it into perspective a leatherface can outrun that now with his chainsaw. Remember that if SB is used then the survivor must slowly walk around the map to keep it reserved or risk having a wasted perk if they use it up and get found quickly. And even dead hard isn't that useful if the survivor ends up in an area with an already destroyed pallet or a dead zone.

Personally I think they should have buffed Vigil to make exhaustion work the way it used to (I believe it was cooldown whilst running at 50% of speed. So a 40 seconds cooldown was 80 if running, though I may have the numbers wrong). Vigil has had zero use for going on 3 years now I think.

  • @eff said:

I main Cheryl now and it feels like all of her perks need something in addition. I found blocking gens amazing before running it, now I see how it can be useful only 1/10 games. Soul guard is like a walmart version of bt, unless the killer has a hex on you. Although, the speed of healing is so slow that most likely you won't manage to use it. Blood pack is completely useless in my opinion. I won't even suggest anything, I don't have anything in mind. Just shared my thoughts.

Alliance can still be useful if Ruin is active. Telling the whole map you've blocked your gen and pausing Ruin for 30 seconds is decent.

  • @NoelleMina said:

Honestly, I kinda wish it stayed. Sure it was meta or “boring” or whatever, but everything has it’s meta.

Playing Survivor, the Ruin/Undying combo gave me something to worry about. The Killer running it was at least decent or oppressive (not in a bad way). With any other build, I didn’t have to worry about anything except getting bad teammates or something.

This all just my opinion though. I think the issue comes when DS/Unbreakable can only be used once per Survivor, that’s probably why it isn’t getting nerfed or reworked.

    Probably.

While I'm iffy on Undying being nerfed (I would have been fine with just removing aura reading but ultimately it doesn't affect me too much), as a solo player I just threw on Small game. Voila. Sorted. Heck even repressed alliance can be a decent counter to ruin.

  • @TheDappaScrappa said:

First off I'm not here for none of that us vs them mentality on this post. I just have a question and hopefully I can get a real answer from a few people here.

With that being said I have one question I want to ask (and no I'm not some salty "enter role here" player complaining its just a real question). For the most part when a perk comes out that changes the killers meta (like ruin/undying, ruin/pop, this or that) why do these perks get nerfed for being used too much or being too good. But when there are survivor sided perks that are used in pretty much every match ( Unbreakable/DS/Sprint Burst) they rarely get changed (or at least in a drastic way) to pretty much change the survivors meta perks?

Yes, yes I know it sounds like an us vs them question but I'm not coming from side. I am just curious to see if anybody else could fill me in on your opinion on it. And yes I am aware that DS has been changed before and BL has been too but I never said survivor meta perks never get changed, I just said rarely. This isn't about me complaining about the undying changes, it is just me asking a legit question and want to hear others opinions.

And no I'm not a rank 1 survivor or rank 1 killer tbh the highest survivor rank i got was 4 and highest killer rank I got was around 4-5. Please keep it a civil discussion. No "small peepee" build trash talking, once again I am just curious to know what other people think

Not to sound mean as I do quite like the members of BHVr I've seen on dev streams or from talking to in chat of their personal streams, they're all nice people and clearly care about the game a lot. But a lot of the balance changes and event changes in the last year or so have been bizarre.

I thought 2019 was the best year for DBD by far, great new content, good balance changes, fun events. But 2020 has sucked.

They brought back exclusive cosmetics after saying they wouldn't. They nickle and dimed the ######### out of players for eternal blight. BLight was the only killer from this year that was fun for both sides. PH was incredibly uninspired power wise and despite being an SH fanboy I think Midwich is the worst map ever added to DBD.

    And on the balance side-

Stuff like the reasoning for not changing OoO or nerfing/reworking slowdown perks to be less "oppressive" but not actually looking at the reason why so many players use them really shakes my faith in them. The pathetic change to PHs 50/50 that didn't fix any of the problems with him being insanely boring to face. Deathslingers entire 1v1 in general.

    And in regards to Survivor-

Sure, people die a lot with OoO. But it makes the match utterly miserable and unfair for the killer and it almost exclusively used in SWF comm parties to troll the killer.

Nerfing Pop because players could "do too much and still have it active" meanwhile DS is still the problem child of DBD.

I hate the "Us VS them" mentality of killers vs survivors on here. I try to be more impartial, but in regards to perks they're really coddling survivor players recently.

It's a losing strategy if you're patrolling Boxes primarily. If you're patrolling them in tandem with normal gameplay you can often catch a Survivor trying to get a Trap off, especially if they've gotten bad "RNG" with an active Trap.

Were they to remove the Jigsaw Box Auras from basekit I'd at least want a notification when a Trap is removed. (As well as a touchup to basekit Crouch/Ambush speeds).

IT would make sense imo. They got rid of PHs cage aura as it had a similar problem to a worse degree.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

I mean....you can still just....throw the pallet and keep going. It doesn't really change his counterplay all that much. He'll be better, but there are killers that can still do what he can but better so I doubt it will be that big of a difference.

This. I've loved Clown since release despite his weaknesses. Zoning is fun. But this is rather disappointing. I can't really see any situation where the yellow gas would help you and NOT the survivor save for chasing a hold W player.

He'll still be a killer you're playing exclusively because you like the concept of his power over its actual gameplay use.

    Still just a worse Freddy.

  • I like the Insidious change. Always wondered why that perk exists.

As a frequent player of Dead By Daylight and a longtime fan of The Chainsaw Massacre franchise — we need to discuss the problematic nature of his "Smartface" Skin.

This issue isn't new, but as the fight for racial inequality continues and we work towards making a brighter future, in and out of the fog, there will always be those that try to hurt others and ruin the fun. As of late, trolls and racist individuals have taken to using the Smartface cosmetic (as well as using racist display names paired with overall unsportsmanlike performances in-game) as a form of trolling. It's gotten to the point where (in my personal experience) 1/5 Bubba matches have gone poorly due to racist behavior — it's beyond disgusting and disheartening.

I know Behaviour had only good intentions when implementing these skins years ago — and based on Bubba's lore from his source material, such cosmetics make sense at face value. But I believe, as a community, we've come to a point where we've outgrown these cosmetics, as they only hurt the community we care about so deeply. I want to see Bubba get the love he deserves as the horror icon he is, to be enjoyed by all who play as or against him — not to have his legacy tainted by racists of the modern era.

I'm not a Dev, not a Fog Whisperer, and (arguably most important) I'm not a lawyer or rights holder — but I think there needs to be a discussion on how to move forward from here, where everyone walks away happy. My personal idea was to give Bubba a new set of cosmetics to replace the "Face Series" (Leaderface, Smartface, Athleteface, & Survivorface). I don't want Bubba-Mains to be left without gear for their favorite character, so I think an alternative to these faces might be the best option (as opposed to losing everything).

An example of this could be doing aprons instead of faces. Perhaps Bubba has fashioned bloody aprons out of the default clothing for Meg, Dwight, Claudette, & Jake (potentially for other survivors should an agreement be possible for all parties involved). Another example could be Bubba adorning an artifact from each survivor (again, not their face) — Claudette's broken glasses, Dwight's broken glasses, Meg's braids, Jake's scarf, etc. I think our community is filled with incredibly bright and creative individuals, and I'd love to hear what others could think up down below.

Again, this all lies with the rights holders, an agreement of some sort would have to be made — However, I do think these alternative cosmetics would allow everyone to walk away with a better impression of Bubba & The Texas Chainsaw Massacre franchise, Dead by Daylight and Behaviour, as well as the DBD & horror community as a whole. Of course, I'd love to hear what the community has to say.

As always, stay safe out in the fog.

Leatherface literally couldn't comprehend the concept of racism. Just throwing that out there.

  • I think the more you play the less you'll see of that. That's pretty much a losing strategy for the Pig as your teammates will still be on gens. A good Pig wouldn't waste time on chasing you from the box as they'd know that keeping you off the gen is more important.

  • @TotemsCleanser said:

It can be any perk, either a survivor perk or a killer one. Also if you wanna provide how exactly you would buff it, please do! Reworks are OK too. No nerfs though; this is about perks that are weak, or that only work in very specific builds, that you would like to see buffed/reworked.

I'd like the basic attack req of surge removed. I think its actually a decent perk but that basic attack req makes it pointless on 1 shot or ranged killers.

The survivor perk change I wanted actually made it into the game with the upcoming Fixated change.

said the survivor main, anyone who believes this change on undying was anything else by a nerf, is just lying to themselves

You're first sentence is why I don't really take this forum seriously anymore. Any attempt at legitimate criticism of survivor gameplay/perk "LEL KILLER MAIN". Any attempt at criticism of killer perks/gameplay "LOL SURV MAIN".

I've been playing for 4 years and well over 70% of that is as killer. If you played this game to the degree I have you'd see how easy this game is for good killers nowadays. I watched two straight years of survivor nerfs only for killers to still claim the game is unfair (the game isn't unfair 90% of complaints lead back to DS/Unbreakable).

For example, why do I criticise people who defend how braindead strong killers like Freddy are?

Because I mained him pre-rework and he took actual brains and micromanagment to play well.

Why do I criticise people who cry about the tiniest of nerfs to killer slowdown perks on the forums?

Because I learned to play killer back when their was almost 3x the pallets there are now, survivors perks were stronger and there was less variety in slowdown perks available. Yet people claim the game is unwinnable as killer when they have access to stuff like Pop and Corrupt on maps that can spawn as little as 8 pallets on the regular. Players who don't want to get better, they want to be carried.

Winning against a good team was doable then, and its sure as hell doable now.

I've been here since day 1 of these forums. I've watched it go from a decently fun place to discuss the game and balance changes to self-victimisation general, it's almost tumblr levels of self pity. If it weren't for the global pandemic and currently being on work furlough I wouldn't even be here.

Heck, I do actually play survivor more nowadays when I can actually find games, not because its easier (it certainly isn't solo) I'm just bored of killer. 99% of matches are way too easy even as a mid tier like Doctor. Killer matches are instant now but games are unsatisfying due to the insane disparity in skill on survivors in red ranks.

The sweat squads are still there, and they do turn balance into a joke, but they make up less than 5% of actual matches. Maybe even less. And even then those matches are way more fun than slaughtering some boosted swf players.

Heck, its not just me, many of the streamers I watch (Geistra, Zubatlel, Morf) don't even play killer anymore as its so easy and reptitive now.

No idea why I wrote this much. Guess the ignorance in your post triggered me.

You called old Ruin training wheels. Ruin/Undying is less effective than old Ruin and you're still calling it training wheels. Therefore, anything that slows gens is training wheels.

I mean, that's literally what it was. The second you started facing good survivors that perk had 0 utility. Like literally zero. That's not subjective thats fact.

  • You already have the ability to mindgame a dropped pallet... by vaulting it or faking.

Of course they forgot. Streamers and casual players made sure it got nerfed into uselessness.

It needed a nerf for sure. Just think they were a little heavy handed. It should be like deliverence. That's also a very strong perk but its balanced by being limited to about 2 uses per match between a whole team.

  • Would be a good change and encourage proper use of the power. My problem is that since they lowered his speed its a lot harder to chain. If you run the second you hear the heartbeat after that first hit its rare for Legion to reach anyone.

The stun combined with no scratch marks is crazy and I'm surprised he's been in this state for so long.

This is the stupidest add on the Devs put in this game. Literally, within the first 2 minutes of my game, my teammate doesn't even get hooked let alone hit. Just instant dead. A little bit later same ######### happens to me. How is this fair at all? And people are going to say this game is survivor sided? Yes, most killers don't use this pussy item but why is it even in the game? You can't even complain about keys when a killer gets the most broken add ons. I know this item only lets the kill occur during tier 3 but this is plain right unfair. It's literally instant death.

If you're talking about tombstone there's a multitude of counters. Lockers, looping (he moves much slower) and dropping pallets early and punishing him if he tries to bloodlust.

You can also tell if he's insta down as his left hand will be open and flat, if his hand isn't clenched he WILL kill you.

Tombstone is fine, tombstone piece on the other hand....

  • @Kadajacs said:

I have been finding that whenever I am chasing a survivor and I get bloodlust the game will temporarily freeze. It is only for a second or so but as we all know every fraction of a seconds counts in a chase.

I can't count the amount of chases that this has lost me. Is anyone else experiencing this. It is kinda annoying that something meant to help in chases is actually causing me to lose them.

And no it is not my internet connection. I have very good connection normally and only get this type of lag when bloodlust activates. It is also consistently only when bloodlust starts so cannot be coincidence

Are you on console? This was a thing for the entire 3 years I was on Xbox one. An Xbox X no less.

Same with exposed, hex pop ups, sloppy butcher and a few others.

It's weird. Originally, Undying was something other than NOED that encouraged cleansing dull totems. If Undying is active, it shows nearby survivors' auras, which makes it more difficult to cleanse dulls. Now, because a cleansed hex will just replace Undying and not use a previously dull totem, there's no reason to risk cleansing dulls with the new Undying.

Of course, once one totem is cleansed, Undying is definitely no longer in play and dull totems should no longer show auras. Unless all the hex totems are really well hidden, Undying will almost always have a short lifespan in a match.

The aura bit is a very weird thing to have, now. It doesn't help protect lit totems. Unless the killer has NOED, he has no reason to give a damn about dull totems, so it's just a strange tracking perk while in play. While Undying is up, it makes cleansing dull totems difficult, best to just try to stay away from dull totems. Kinda counterproductive if the devs want dull totems to be a secondary objective.

I think most people will still cleanse what totems they see. It's quick, easy BP/emblem points and considering how a lot of NOED users dropped it for the current meta build I wouldn't be suprised if some backtracked.

  • @konchok said:

When the hex doesn't move to dull totems but replaces the existing undying totem?

The perk doesn't synergize with itself. If I'm using the perk, I want to be protecting the 2 lit totems. The other totems will never come into play.

By The Way this is not a thread to vent about the change to Undying, if you've come here for that go to another thread where that's the point of that thread. Thank you.

Having aura reading on hex totems never made that much sense.

The main counter to totems is cleansing, Undying countered cleansing yet also had a built in counter to its counter in totem auras.

  • Nice trap. Accuse me of the thing you did in your first post and run away.

STOP making useless perks. With every chapter, perks of both sides must change the "usual" playstyle, or make new options for it. There is one good perk for both sides every 5 chapters or so, is it a joke ?

This is really the inly defendable thing there. They dont add good perks in new dlc really because theyre afraid of being called pay to win (a bit late with DS and STBFL tho)

They must have forgotten that time they made mettle of man.

There is not such thing as Anti-Tunnel perks. Perks are here to make plays, and they can be countered easily. There's like a single killer perk, addon, offering or ability that can counter an entire build of an survivor. And that's perfectly fine. Bcs. survivors get also countered, and not only killers. For example: When i vault i want to disapper into thin air bcs. i use "Dance with me","Quick and Quite" and "Lithe". But... it gets countered by open areas(areas with barely any walls) and Ghostsface's perk "im all ears". Another example: I want to run a DS build with "Deliverance" and "Unbreakable". But... the killer plays Pyarmid Head with a mori offering, three of my perks are now barely useable. Last Example: I want to gen rush with "Prove Thyself" and "Bond". But... the killer has "Corrupted Intervention", "Discordance" and uses "Midwich Elementary School" Offering.

It is indeed a bad play to not pick up as survivor just bcs. u think the survivor has DS. You have to know when to pick them and when not to. So u dont have to waste 60 seconds, instead u can just waste 5 seconds and get stunned. Or mabye we been a fools the whole time and the survivor just had unbreakable and no DS. Also DS is almost impossible to use in the red ranks if you dont force it.

Note: survivor recovery without unbreakable is around 30 seconds, and when u use unbreakable its around 20 seconds. Anything less couldnt not be done by the slugged survivor alone. It could have been someone with "We'll make it","We're gonna live forever" or someone with anything but not alone.

Your objective is to gather as many bloodpoints in each category, so you don't lose a pip. But if u fail to do so, then get good. Pressuring gens is only one of many tasks. And how well u will do those tasks depends on your build, skill, game knowledge and luck. So like i said sometime u just get countered, and the best you can do is not to lose a pip(gather as many bloodpoints as possible).

I hope this solved all of your problems, and if not. I can still write a book in this comment section, no problem at all.

    Ah sorry. Meant "anti momentum"

    >picks a random box when you place the trap on their head

Exactly my opinion is that it needs to be revisited.

It is a mechanism that makes RBTs pretty unreliable.

RBTs are removed from their heads in the first box without sufficient slowdown effect to the survivors.

If no changes are to be made to RBTs, then crouch and ambush dash should be tweaked to be useful to more players.

Note: "I suggest checking out <Fog Whisperer>" & "Pig is in the top third of Killers for performance" are not necessary.

I get what you're saying. I used to think it should scale like with Trappers new traps.

But honestly I think that would hurt her long term. Yeah there are times where they get it off first try and that sucks, but if they did a rolling percentage you'd probably never see a 4-5th box or trap kill ever again. Due to the fact they can instakill theres NO WAY they would be as lenient with the chances. It would be 85% chance after the second box or something.

I like her more as she is tbh. I even heard Scorpionz (the best pig player and one of the better killers in dbd) talk about this on stream a little while ago and he says it'd be much, much worse.

  • @YourFather said:

In my opinion, in the red ranks DS isnt as powerful as it seems in the lower ranks. Bcs. killers in the red ranks know when to take a DS and when NOT to.

I personally don't have issue's with DS, but if i would hate it this much i would start maining Pyarmid Head. But like i said, never had troubles with DS players.

Object of Obsession on the other hand is a perk that i truly hate, and i will do anything in my power to punish Object of Obsession players in my killer games. Bcs. they ruin my Huntress and Deathslinger gaming experience.

Which is also the reason why i play in the red ranks undectectable killers like Wratih, Pig, Myers and similar. But then again i know if i would be a really good Huntress, or if i would run undectable builds. Object of Obsession wouldnt be this much of a problem for me.

If you do some research you will find ways to counter just about anything in the game. But, also DBD is a luck based game in my opinion. Where you for example have the good games and the bad games, and you are NOT suppose to win every game. Sometimes the best u can do is not losing a pip. But then again your rank doesnt really matter, cuz its a luck based game. And then again u also know, that u will have a higher chance of meeting better players in high ranks. And those players will test your builds, and they will make u feel like u got better at the game when u succeed against them.

And if you are mad cuz your playstyle fails against DS, then change your playstyle and hope for the best. For example you could use the "Make Your Choice" to know excatly when DS expires, and to have a chance to instantly down a person.

Very well, i hope that my response solved all of your problems, and if not. Then don't worry, i can say much more than this, but i hope this is enough for you. Bcs. i can write an entire book here for you.

The problem with your reasoning is that an organised team can actually be devastating to your gen pressure if they play agressively with it, even if you don't even pick them up for the stun.

Trust me, no killer worth their salt has a problem with the anti-tunnel aspect of DS. It's the "I'm gonna repair this gen in your face and if you slug me I use unbreakable and am up in 12 seconds, you wait it out and waste 60 seconds, or I stun you and you gain nothing".

Its the fact that a survivor can go out of their way to play poorly/stupid and the killer gets punished for capitalising on a bad play.

  • @BabyCameron10 said:

They should just make it so that if a survivor fully heals, DS deactivates. Never really understood the “Deactivate after hooking another survivor” sorta thing. Doesn’t really make sense IMO. And besides, no matter what they do to DS, it will always be problematic.

The main way DS is used agressively right now is trying to body block/bait chases or repair in the killers face whilst injured. A health state change wouldn't affect the actual problem with DS. Which is using it a as a power play and not an anti tunnel tool.

  • @DemonDaddy said:

It puts hex perks back to before undying released, gimmick perks that disappear once survivors are notified of their exsistance.

    Thats.... the whole point.

  • @Uotsumi said:

I think the developers should revisit the system of spawning RBT keys in jigsaw boxes for consistency in the near future.

I wait it. And other reconsiderations of the Pig's basekit.

It literally picks a random box when you place the trap on their head. It's working as intended.

"using it as training wheels and overrelying on it." Sounds like the survivor meta perks that have been untouched for years.

"Too many survivors are using exhaustion perks as chase training wheels and overrelying on them." See I can do it too. The reason people are mad is because they nerfed the killer meta only 4 months after the perks release despite very popular and overused perks on the survivor side being completely untouched.

    WHOOP WHOOP

Its the whataboutism alarm! Not sure I stated anywhere in my post that that wasn't something that existed. Nice
