I've seen this on a couple of threads now: What's the one thing you wish you had known when you were a new player - that one tip that would help you immensely in game?
For me, when playing killer, I wish I had known that the survivors could see your red stain (it took me a while to figure this out).
As a new survivor I wish I had known to not just stare at a generator while repairing it... I don't know why I did that, but I did. For a while. SMH.
As a new killer, I played trapper and I wish I had known not to set traps in the middle of pallets.

Oh okay, I've played him on consoles and I never have any luck with him. Before when you could still rush at 1, 2, or 3 I could get downs, but now it's super difficult. Like used to you didn't have to wait for his bar to fill up to 5 before rushing again.

Here lately I've been running bond, sprint burst, iron will, and adrenaline.
If I feel a little froggy I'll run head on with quick and quiet. For head on reasons. ๐

I like to kill survivors as candle wraith and then message them saying "you got burned." No, I'm not sorry ๐คฃ Immature? Yes. Sorry? No.

THE GRUDGE! Legit one of the only movies that ever seriously scared me. Can you imagine!? You're on a gen and see the lady or little boy from The Grudge coming at you!?
Or that demon thing from Insidious! The red faced guy-demon-thing with the hooves that crawls on the wall! Spoooooky shiiiiit.

I usually assume that my fellow survivors are going to start on a gen they think is relatively safer (along the edge of the map, in a corner, etc.) So I usually try and go to a gen near the middle of the map and get it done. I often find that survivors tend to do gens along the edges of the map, so then we end up three gen'd.

This is probably going to get a lot of hate, so buckle up, kiddos. If I don't think you read this, I'm not going to take you seriously and you'll be ignored.
BBQ should EITHER let killers see auras when they hook a survivor OR give bonus bloodpoints for hooks, not both. Furthermore, the auras revealed when hooking should be for healthy and injured survivors, not survivors who are dying.
BBQ is probably the most powerful killer perk, judging by how frequently it's used. The information it provides is very valuable, and the bonus points are huge. However, players use it all the time to perpetuate a strategy that is extremely distasteful to survivors, and results in attempts to counter using perks like Unbreakable. When you down two players and leave one slugged, BBQ means there are almost no consequences. You can just hook one survivor, see where the other one crawled while you were hooking, and pick them up for another immediate hook. Hell, if you bait out another survivor trying to heal their slugged teammate, you can slug that one too. You could down the entire team and hook each person individually, and still find the other slugs because of this perk.
Killers seem to find no issue with leaving people lying on the ground for up to four minutes, which is how long it takes a survivor to bleed out. That is four minutes where the player does absolutely nothing. They get no objectives done, they don't help their team, and they earn no points aside from the bare 300 given when you recover. Meanwhile, the killer continues running around, swinging at other survivors, kicking gens, and wandering through the grass looking for the slug. If they get another person down, they get to see the slug's location for free. Woo-hoo, that's two players hooked for minimum effort, and a ton of wasted time for the survivor the killer didn't pick up the first time.
The perk encourages consequence-free slugging. As things stand, the only consequence is the much-reviled Unbreakable letting a slugged survivor and "easy hook" get back up and limp away. If killers leave bodies on the ground, they deserve to lose survivors to Unbreakable and bleed-out. There is no reason they should get extra points for wasting another person's game time and getting greedy for kills.
Killers can also use BBQ to make up for other bad tactics like tunneling and camping. If they camp, their score is almost halved, depending on how dedicated they are to staying at the hook. Slap on BBQ, though, and it is doubled, because you got four hooks, and thus maxed your tokens. Why play a different strategy when you can just stand in front of a hooked survivor and down potential rescuers for the same amount of points that would actually take work? This is what encourages survivors to use Borrowed Time and Decisive Strike. They don't risk taking a teammate off the hook just for both of them to be downed and re-hooked. They suffer through a trade, or the killer gets DS'd because they tunneled off the hook.
If people played like they were interacting with actual humans instead of like the bots weren't letting them win, this wouldn't be an issue. Unfortunately, they don't seem capable. Killers openly advocate slugging for 4ks because there are no consequences if survivors don't have the right perk. When players don't use these perks, they plateau and can't climb any higher, but also can't fall low enough to have reasonable matches based on skill alone. Thus, more give up on playing their own way and learn to get sweaty and go meta.
Tune in next time for my piece about why Insidious and Iron Grasp should be reworked or removed from the game altogether!
Ching Chong your opinion is wrong.

How is it unfair? Lol. I love this perk.
I've just noticed that a lot of stealth killers, myers and ghost face especially, really suffer from spine Chill. Although it is kind of funny creeping off of a gen in time to watch a killer search the area only to find no survivors around lol.

I do rely on it, never said I didn't. I even said why I rely on it. I literally don't hear the sounds. I don't ignore them. I don't hear them. Whether it's a speaker v headphone issue or just my hearing. I don't hear the sounds of GF or Myers. Well Myers when he is 100% on top of me but it's too late then. You're just so busy trying to prove how your view point is the only right one and everything else is wrong to actually read.
It probably will get nerfed. It is meta for solo survivors and killers mains like to cry as much as survivor mains to get things nerfed. Maybe when Wraith gets his rework it'll happen. And then solos will be even weaker as people get yoinked off gens for instant hooks.
Thank you for replying to my question! I like seeing different opinions and reasoning so I can better understand other people's view points. I actually rely on bond a lot. It's a great information perk. I always run it before anything else. That's just my play style.

You know how Kindred is really great for solo Survivors but unnecessary in SWF? That's exactly how Spine Chill is, and everyone agrees Kindred is well-designed. Solo Survivor is hard enough, and nerfing perks that attempt to bridge the gap between solo and SWF is the opposite of what DBD needs.
Besides, there are at least a dozen more powerful perks than Spine Chill. BT, DS, Unbreakable, Andrenaline, exhaustion perks, and so on. It's really not OP in the grand scheme of things.
I was just thinking of the way it affects stealth killers. It just seems like it's punishing to play as a stealth killer when you go against spine Chill. I do see where you're coming from though.

I think it would be more balanced if Spine Chill's distance was reduced. You get notified when the killer is looking in your direction at a distance of 36 meters... That's more than the average terror radius. To me that is super busted. If you know that far ahead of time, you can creep off of a gen without leaving scratch marks and be gone before the killer ever get to you.
