  • Man I just want to have my main build on multiple different characters but it's impossible when you have 90 perks unlocked.

    OH NO.

Geez, it’s not a big deal. It takes seconds to re-equip anything reset.

I'm more concerned about how it won't give all of the bloodpoints promised.

I meant bring the costume she has from that game...I messed up post title.

Yeah that would be cool. I really want a classic skin from RE1 too, it's weird we don't have that.

Yeah but they're different kinds of tyrants though. First tyrant didn't have tentacles, he instead had a massive claw to shred things with. Would look really jenky having a big claw with a tentacle popping out of it and never actually using the claw itself.

I mean it's just a skin, do you really care about the lore enough to not want Mr. X if he has a tentacle?

    thats the RE DLC

    Im refering to:

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/5CG9F48SCTJG/2510378946-preview-ec-006.png

which Im told is from the $30 Survivor Expansion pack

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/DC3RAT5G9ZGV/2510378946-preview-ec-005.png

and this which would be from the separate $30 killer expansion pack

if these are fake then great I can stop worrying about it but I want to collect things

Oh I see. I didn't know the expansion packs existed until now. Yeah I would assume they only come with those. Don't quote me on that but they are known for giving out charms only on specific DLCs.

  • Nah the one from DbD looks nothing like any of those versions.

  • You get an umbrella corp charm for buying the Resident Evil DLC.

  • Is there really a bloodpoint charm? That's what I heard in a different thread.

I fail to see how this friend is in the wrong here? Tunneling/camping/slugging are all reportable offenses in the unsportsmanlike category, this is indisputable. Killers who employ these tactics are actively cheating the survivors out of a fair match, preventing them from playing the game and earning blood points.

Hello, good people of the fog!

We now have a team Associate Community Managers, as well as an updated in-game report system.
With your help, we will be able to find the players who are creating a bad game experience and punish them appropriately, making the game a better place.

    HOW TO REPORT A PLAYER

You may only report things that happen directly to you or in a game that you were in.
Reporting for other people is not allowed and these reports will be discarded.
(ie. Reporting someone on behalf of a friend, streamer, or other)

    Fill the In-game report

An In-game report MUST be made. This is not optional, and is a must to help us identify the person in your game as well as find any other evidence we need.

  • He seems pretty balanced and he's fun to go against. I really don't like how his tentacle attack works tho cuz half the time it literally doesn't touch me but I go down, like it needs to be adjusted so I can actually see if it hit me or not. There was one game where I dropped a pallet and dead harded immediately after and his level 1 tentacle hit me. Literally through a downed pallet and a dead hard.

Overall I think he's a good character, balanced and fun to play against.

  • Pyramid Head was barely nerfed at all, lots of people like Otzdarva even think he was buffed. All they did was make it less punishing to miss a shockwave attack.

  • His face reminds me of a neanderthal unironically.

  • It's very dependent on the game for me but sometimes I find them to be the opposite. I'm working on a gen and they start going after me from a really long ways away. And if he has ruin I have to spend so much time luring the zombie away and then coming back only for the zombie to come back again and then the gen has regressed 50% in that time. They can be very annoying some games or do nothing others.

  • Yes but it hits through a downed pallet AND an entire dead hard, it's that long.

  • You should use it. At level 1 it hit me through a downed pallet and a full dead hard. Probably latency but it still did it.

  • Chris just looks really weird.

  • what do you mean? It makes zombies respawn faster along with the increased mutation rate.

  • I literally got hit through a downed pallet and a full dead hard from his tentacle in tier 2.

  • I crashed twice in a row and both times it said I escaped and I kept my bloodpoints I earned that match but I still got a DC penalty. I got to 15 minutes.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/257068/is-the-basement-outdated-game-design

The basement is not a bandaid at all. It’s fundamental to horror that there needs to be locations around the map that are much more dangerous than other locations. The basement, under most circumstances, is supposed to be the most dangerous location to be near or in.

Its meant to create tension for a survivor either down there “what if the killer comes and checks, or already knows I’m here”, or being chased near the basement “oh god, if I go down I’m being hooked down in the basement.”

Without tension, what’s the point of even playing survivor?

Well my problem is that a lot of the time you just don't see it before you go down in the area and with special builds it can guarantee death for free. Also a lot of the time it's not even in good buildings lol like not every main building is strong, like the building on mother's dwelling.

  • @smappdooda said:

Until proven otherwise, I will always believe the servers favor bad ping over good ping. It's the only explanation why I get hit in impossible fashions as survivor but miss the same hits as killer. (and end up exhausted on the ground half the time with dead hard but somehow other people dead hard with my weapon halfway through their body)

It's probably the most frustrating thing for me about this game currently.

The higher ping is almost always prioritized and that's just a fact, I believe there is enough proof to show it. However I don't think it has much to do with ping honestly, whenever I've had really bad latency issues where the killer hits through pallets and other crap like that mine and their ping has never been that bad, I think it's an issue with distance. If I'm playing with someone thousands of miles away it will always favor the killer.

  • @GeneralV said:

There is no such thing as an "outdated" mechanic. Most things designed in the past work just fine nowadays.

There might be one or two exceptions, but that is about it. Basement is not one of them, it never was and it never will be.

So light burn is not outdated?

  • Try saying "Michael Scott".

Seriously tho sometimes random names are just censored for no reason, even survivor names, at one point I couldn't say "Jake". I also really hate how if it catches a no no word it blocks like the entire sentence. I can't tell what people are saying half the time because a sentence comes out to "#### ### ####" instead of just the bad word censored. I feel like I'm playing roblox now but I'm sure even roblox has a better filter system than this. It's so stupid.

  • I mean I could see how people would think it's boring. You're kind of taking away one of the only 2 options a survivor can use against a killer, but it's definitely not overpowered and not even that good of a perk. People should not be complaining.

  • I started with Claudette mostly because of her perks and I found her one of the best looking survivors. I also got the Claudette figurine charm and so I have that on every one of my characters almost as a reminder of who I started with.

I think the first killer I played the most was Plague funnily enough. I've always had a soft spot for her.

It is within the rules, allowed and a strat though. You're playing a game where one side has to KILL YOU.

Oh no, the other soccer team has the ball and won't pass it back to us, it's not fair!

If you die, just take the death. It takes 15s to die on 2nd stage. Eat those 15s instead of crying like a baby that you're "held hostage" for a few seconds. It'll be a lot quicker than the 5 minute penalty.

So then what truly is the difference between a 5 second disconnect vs a 15 second hook suicide? All you're doing is just punishing people for wanting to get out of a game 10 seconds faster, you aren't arguing for a DC penalty very well.

  • Going along with what another person said, it's impossible to prove what you're claiming unless we have the actual stats. Spirit and Nurse weren't even close to the highest kill rates even on the old ranking system. You are getting worked up over nothing.

  • Yeah the game has just been feeling incredibly off with pallets and vaults lately. I keep pressing "space" when the prompt is up and it's not dropping and earlier tonight I pressed "space" when the prompt wasn't even there and it super vaccumed me back to the pallet which is not what I wanted to do. Getting hit through pallets every single game is basically par for the course for me tho and I can't figure out a way to stop it.

  • Well the killer had to have been playing for a while and got rank resetted, or he's been saving bloodpoints playing survivor because he has 4 teachable perks all level 3 at rank 17.

  • @Seraphor said:

If you weren't 'forced to play a game you didn't want to be in' then people would be leaving games constantly, and ruining everyone's fun.

Don't start a game if you're not willing to see it through.

I don't think the rate of hook suicides has gone down unless there is data to prove otherwise. Clearly people will leave a game they don't want to be in and all a DC penalty does is punish people whose internet drops frequently.

  • @xerav said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2261556#Comment_2261556

Logic of someone using DC and killing himself frequently i see.

    a) Its a 5 Player Game just leaving a match cuz you dont have "fun" messes with 4 other players (that alone is a reason to have dc penalty).

    b) For the Killer it matters to get the Hook (and the additional hook state if you ######### on a hook) vs the oldschool days of people dc before you can hook em to deny you points so you depip.

    c) Killing yourself in the first few mins of a game should also invoke a penalty (atleast we agree on that).

d). SWF used the "DC" Tech to give the last survivor hatch (again to f with killer).

e). Also people dc on the ground denied you Perk usages (like BBQ gettin tokens on hex: totems etc).

In my experience as killer, the amount of hook suicides has not dropped at all. Like people will still just kill themselves immediately if they don't like the way I'm playing and that's fine, I would rather them just get out of the game and move on over forcing them to stay in and do poorly for their team. You could also fix the "hook state" by just counting a DC as an entire hook sacrifice, I see no problem with that. The only argument that makes sense to me is the DC hatch tech which just really is not a problem to me, it's so small of a problem that it's not worth implementing a system that will hurt people with bad internet who disconnect a lot.

  • The devs have always hinted at the possibility of an anime crossover, so it's not completely impossible.

  • @xerav said:

one of the better things they added. Its a basic thing for a multiplayer game there is no arguing about it ^^

I definitely don't agree with that. What's the difference between killing yourself on hook and just pressing the "leave game" button? You can never force somebody to stay in a game they aren't having fun in, it just punishes players who are trying to get into the lobby and find a new game faster.

  • Adepts for me seem just really random. I actually had a really easy time with Plague but that was because I just got lucky honestly. My games are just too volatile for it to be a consistent difficulty.

  • They had to speed up Pyramid Head when they made him lol so it makes sense that not everything can be translated 100% from RE especially if it could be too unbalanced.

  • I'm actually the only person on earth who really likes bloodhound, for some reason the #1 thing I struggle with on killer is tracking and oftentimes people just disappear in front of me, so I like seeing a bright trail leading up to them.

  • I can assure you as somebody who loves Iron Will it does not make you even close to invincible. As long as the killer can see you, your scratch marks, or your blood, you can be tracked relatively easily. It's basically the same thing as being healthy, you can still go from healthy to injured easily, they don't need to nerf healthy survivors.

  • Yeah I don't think information is really that integral to why SWF is so good, it's definitely just 4 good coordinated players on one team. That's why i'm so excited for MMR so I can actually get some good survivors on my team. If it means that they have to buff every killer to compensate then so be it, I just want to play with good players.

  • Probably going to end up like Predator Hunting Grounds and die within a few weeks of coming out.

  • @Pulsar said:

I'd do it just to get away from DDoS attacks.

Unfortunately, I've not figured out how to set up a VPN on Console.

Not to dissuade you from doing it, but here are some moments of me going against a Huntress who was using a VPN, their profile was completely in Chinese and they didn't say anything in the after-game chat. The blood spots in the air is where I was on her screen, the hatchets exploded like 6 feet away from my character and I went down both times.

    image.png image.png

It definitely gives you an unfair advantage, so much so that I think it should be bannable because it ruins games.

  • @CoalTower said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2261419#Comment_2261419

Oh, I see. You're wasting your time. You can't prove that, and I don't even think you can get banned for it in the first place due to dbd servers not being global, forcing people in certain countries to VPN.

I mean you can't prove it by them repeatedly seeing where they connected from on the servers? I feel like it would be pretty obvious if you could view the technical data.

  • @CoalTower said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2261395#Comment_2261395

Perk icons are also bannable while stretched res isn't. What's bannable and what's not bannable doesn't really mean anything.

Well the point of the post is whether I should be reporting people who I suspect are VPNing to gain an unfair advantage or if i'm wasting my time by doing that. I guess I didn't really make that clear in the original post.

How would that help with the spawning situation even? It doesn't matter if I see them if they still spawn separate on gens.

Corrupt intervention is your friend, if you don't like that then you can use Ruin + Undying or Ruin + another hex of choice like Haunted Grounds or Thrill. With Ruin in the early game you can basically reset any generator you want to 0% by pushing them off and hopefully downing someone, there's a reason it has a 50% use rate among all killers.

  • Yeah the new BHVR Kate is not very good. In general I think the face reworks have been very hit or miss.

There's a difference between using a VPN to mitigate issues, and using it for an unfair advantage.

Well you could theoretically use hacks to "mitigate issues" and not to gain an unfair advantage but it's still bannable.

  • Eh I think it's cool he can be kind of stealthy, it's a good use of his add-ons. I generally like add-ons that let you play in an entirely different way and iri brick and apex muffler are awesome ways to do that.

I know some individuals who use VPNs or Routing Services to deal with the ISP's garbage routing from their location to the game server. I use it at certain hours during the late night, because I end up getting placed into European servers from the East Coast. So, I route myself into West Coast servers to cut down the latency, because Europe Region has a wide selection of countries, including Russia.

Yeah I've a couple times and this time I really wanted a moderator to answer but I don't know if it warrants tagging a mod.

  • I think STBFL is amazing on certain killers like Pig and Demogorgon but it's definitely a fine perk and not too OP. It takes time to power up and if you accidentally hit your obsession it loses a lot of power.
