That's for all players, including brand new babies. Not the average - high skill level.

Idk where you got the idea that Otz or I said the game was killer sided because it is not. It's sided to whomever brings the sweatiest stuff.
So you or Otz don't think the game is generally killer sided from an average-high level standpoint? Even with emerging stats from tournaments that show it to be at least balanced?

Yeah if you way above the AVERAGE killer skill and have a game knowledge and instinct beyond the AVERAGE killer and use all the tactics that the AVERAGE killer doesn't use then yeah its a tad bit killer sided. It's a good thing that behavior has said that they want to balance for the AVERAGE player.
Well there's a lot of evidence that shows the average kill rate is pretty high. As high as 75% for Freddy even.

That's not right. If something is both braindead and effective, it'll be super popular to play. In the short time I've been playing, there was pre-nerf Freddy, pre-nerf Spirit, and now there's a ton of camping Bubbas. Wraith was really popular in the short window of time that he was actually decent, too.
I think you're drastically overstating how easy Victor is to use, especially when you have survivors that don't mindlessly drop pallets in front of ranged/semi-ranged killers.
Well the easy/effective thing isn't necessarily true because nobody plays as Hag but she's super brain dead and very effective. If you play like one or 2 games with the Twins you'll definitely be able to use Victor pretty easily, it just might take a bit to get used to him.
-
@Gamedozer7 said:
Are we not going to talk about how he did it. He had to do all the most scummy and unfun tactics each game. So yeah if you have 7k hours and camp to second stage slug tunnel and make the game as fun on both sides as possible its killer sided.
So the game is killer sided if you're a skilled player trying to win.
-
I just think people think they're unfun to play as and against. Kind of like Hag, the gameplay loop for Hag is just placing a trap at each end of the pallet and rise and repeat. You can guarantee to hit survivors with victor at every single pallet so it just isn't that fun and kind of brain dead to play as them. That's my theory at least, same with why The Artist is unpopular right now. Just place crows at each end of the loop and win.

game is killer sided if you only play nurse (recharge addons) or blight (ring+crow) - otherwise, killers usually get stomped on by swfs with map offerings. otz's "experiment" is not that good of a reference, the survivors he was up against were complete babies/messing around and i cringed hard watching it.
"killers usually get stomped on by swfs with map offerings."
Where is your evidence for this? Is this just based on your experience?

@Verconissp said:
...But the logic is backwards.
The game is still Purely Survivor sided. The survivors Otz had made Many mistakes.. didn't path correctly and such.
He also did tunnel and camp to get said kills at points during the games...
..so don't try to say the game is Killer sided when there is Alot more proof that the game is Still (and will be) Survivor Sided
What proof?

Either that or they're not very good and I say that for anyone who says the game is survivor sided or killer sided, the game isn't that extreme balance wise.
I don't think it's that extreme but you just can't deny that the average game is killer sided. Be it for balance reasons or not. Killers have an advantage especially against solo teams.
-
Yes, every person who claims that the game is killer sided is just baiting. Very original idea.

@ReikoMori said:
That's quite a heavy spin you're putting on both what Otz and Scott have said and shown.
Otz displayed that at high mmr things aren't a total death march for killers. What they didn't do is prove the game isn't leaning a bit heavier on survivor's side of the line currently. Scott has even spoke about this and proven the advantages and disadvantages for both sides multiple times.
You say there is little evidence when scott sits there and posts evidence on a regular basis. He also posts the receipts for killers are also over performing and has expressly stated that survivors are quite strong right now. Just because Otz was able to play Hag with no perks and still win consistently is more about his overall skill in the game more than the state of the game. If you had the same level of time investment and skill as Otz you could produce similar results. He plays the game very well, a fact that Scott was sure to point out, doesn't mean it isn't challenging or that the game is killer sided. It simply means it can be done and that things aren't quite as bad as what people say.
That doesn't mean it isn't bad at all or that the balance isn't borked because it is. Both of them has spent far too much time detailing their issues with the game balance for someone to sit there and spin a hyper biased narrative.
"Just because Otz was able to play Hag with no perks and still win consistently is more about his overall skill in the game more than the state of the game."
So essentially if you are good at the game and play a good killer you'll win more times than not. I don't get how people have a problem with the fact that you have to be good at the game to get consistent wins. It's almost like killers want every game handed to them like it is at every other MMR level.

The intent was not to illustrate that the game is anything sided. It was to illustrate that killers have to sweat and impede survivor enjoyment in order to win consistently. Yall are as bad as behavior just looking at numbers without context.
So if you are a good killer and you sweat you'll win most times with no perks? That's still very killer sided.

Not to mention some of the... Disgusting NFTs out there. Like ones based on George Floyd or Etika.
This took me about 2 minutes on Google + Twitter on my phone because everything I normally have linked is on my pc at home, so there's likely some stuff missing. Still, here's some sources.
I'm not denying that ETH isn't harmful for the environment, my point is that if you're not ok with NFTs but are ok with the toy industry making islands of plastic in the ocean then there is a problem.

Imagine being told seven times over that NFTs are far more damaging than pop figures + vinyls ever will be, for far less utility, thus making them an absolute waste of resources and a disgrace to the basic economic problem and humanity in general, and continuing to say "yeah but pop figures".
Just saying that something is true doesn't make it true.
-
You should play 200 games where you guarantee all 5 totems are cleansed to see how high the kill rate is. If NOED is truly balanced the kill rate wouldn't go up that significantly.

You are repeating yourself. And that’s not excuse for them to agree to work on NFT models nor is it an excuse to not inform their customers or employees at an appropriate time instead of waiting for this after most of the people already bought the Hellraiser chapter.
How many times do I have to say the chapter is in no way involved with the NFT. It's the MODEL. Why does it matter if they announced it or not? If you want to be mad at BHVR as a company for just licensing out their work for NFTs at all then that's fine. But don't come in here and say they tricked you and you bought into an NFT or supported one when dbd or the chapter has 0 connection to Boss Protocol.
It's just virtue signaling especially when you're faced with an actual dbd connection to an environmental damaging collectible and just don't care at all because you probably own a pop figure. It's not right.
-
Ok well then the previous point still stands. BHVR licensing out their characters to make pop figures that use fossil fuels and non recyclable plastic is less bad than being 5x removed from ETH purchases.
-
@Mooks said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2735057#Comment_2735057
The problem regarding BHVR is that they deliberately worked with Park Avenue fully knowing those models were going to be used for NFTs and BHVR didn’t tell the community how the Pinhead chapter is connected to NFTs nor did they tell their employees who were basically tricked into producing NFTs (as @Firellius has just pointed out)
also, I am not a supporter of pop figures or vinyls but at least I was fully aware of those and again, why even bring this up? It’s still not that well comparable as one is a digital scam and the other is a physical product
The chapter is not related to the NFT. The model is. Only the model that Park Avenue licensed out, not BHVR.

Do your research, you have already been told in this thread but ignored it.
Here a keyword on what you should look into: Etherum Blockchain
Ohh, so people are mad that BHVR made a model for their game that Park Avenue took, licensed out to another company who made an NFT which people are buying with ETH. So BHVR is 5x removed from the hurting of the environment. You can't get mad at that but not mad at BHVR actually licensing out their characters for pop figures and vinyls. It makes no sense.

Ouch. You really have no clue on how NFTs affect the environment at all but you are still defending them.
with the argument of ‚but there is something worse‘ (which doesn’t hold true in your case).
How do they affect the environment more than basically any other physical collectible?

Yes im more okay with something that serves a function and isn't something so utterly pointless as owning a link to a file at the opportunity cost of the rainforest.
Ouch. This actually just proves that dbd players really don't care about the environment that much when faced with actual things that hurt it.

Pop figure: sits on a shelf and does nothing
Nfts: also sits on a hard drive and does nothing but to obtain one you also use more power than most small countries, the majority of which is coal power, and you don't even own the ######### image.
Mhm good comparison
So you're ok with a manufactured plastic product that doesn't do anything and is ACTUALLY officially licensed by BHVR and dbd? It's actually more than just pop figures there are vinyl soundtracks and expensive statues too. All that hurt the environment debatedly more than an NFT that ISN'T licensed by BHVR.

One is illegal and causes property damage, one is a legal technicality, helps cover up money laundering (which is illegal), uses market strategies to create fake scarcity for fake demand (which is illegal), and soon will be regulated to ensure that illegal things stop happening, while also in the process causing massive irreversible property damage equal to that of Argentina.
Well if NFTs become illegal and BHVR gets shut down then I'm wrong.

Tbh, right now I'm pretty sure that NFT's cause more pollution than burning down a building would
Well I didn't want to dive into this discussion cuz it's a dbd forum not an NFT forum but it really is not that bad at all. I don't get how people were mad at the NFT thing but not about dbd pop figures. Pop figures are manufactured with plastic that does nothing but still on a shelf. They can't be recycled and hurts the environment quite a bit. My point is that if you truly cared about the environment you would be against basically any kind of collection based dbd product like statues and figures and not just an NFT that isn't dbd at all.
-
@Pulsar said:

So, if you had knowledge that someone was going to burn down an office building and you sold them gasoline, it's not your fault because you didn't technically burn that building, right? And besides, they could've gotten the gasoline from anywhere.
See how bad that argument is?
Are you saying an NFT is the equivalent of burning down a building? One of those is extremely illegal and one is not.

What precisely do you think they did?
Sign a contract they didn't read.
Forgive me if I find that unlikely.
No I'm sure the contract was just for giving Park Avenue the model for whatever they wanted. Even if it said they were using it for an NFT it doesn't matter because it has nothing to do with BHVR. Boss Protocol would have just made another model if it wasn't for BHVR anyway so it does so little in the long run.

It was a contract.

You thinking that it doesn't having anything to do with an NFT doesn't magically erase the license agreement and money provided to Park Avenue.
You should be mad at Park Avenue, not BHVR. All BHVR did was make a model for their game and then give it to Park because they had to. That's all.
-
@GoodBoyKaru said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2734912#Comment_2734912
Except it is through royalties through the same company!
Everyone that bought the Hellraiser chapter financially supported the NFTs by proxy. That's how the money works, because it went to Park Avenue.
Bruh it's a model that anybody can use. Ok whatever if you want to think you would be supporting an NFT, then don't buy the chapter, otherwise just let people be and enjoy a DLC that they bought that really has nothing to do with an NFT.
-
@GoodBoyKaru said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2734904#Comment_2734904
And yet money still went to Park Avenue from an unsuspecting playerbase. Congrats on missing my point.
Ok the point is that BHVR or dbd had no connection to this NFT. BHVR didn't make it, nor did they get any money from it, you also didn't buy an NFT when you bought the chapter, nor did you "support" it. When you bought the Hellraiser chapter all you did was buy a DLC for dbd, just because the model for the NFT is the same doesn't mean that it's connected in any way other than being a licensed model that basically anybody can use.
-
@GoodBoyKaru said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2734889#Comment_2734889
Now, you see, when you use an IP for a product, you must first get permission to do so in the form of a contract. This contract contains sections which describes the "royalties" the licence holders will receive upon any purchase of the product, which often times is a lump sum payment and then percentage of any sales.
So, when BHVR licenced the chapter from Park Avenue Entertainment, they would've most likely paid a lump sum + then any sales of the chapter would also have funded the business. This funding was then used to support the same business that licenced out the IP to Boss Protocol.
So no, they absolutely are connected and indirectly a purchase of the chapter helped fund the NFTs, either by covering the actual cost or ensuring the opportunity cost of the investment would be covered at a later date.
What most likely happened is that Park Avenue told BHVR that they got to keep the pinhead model they made for dbd and use it for whatever they wanted (which happened to be an NFT) and BHVR just agreed because it's not up to them what Park Avenue does with a model, it was just part of the contract that they get to use the model.
-
@OnryosTapeRentals said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2734889#Comment_2734889
So the models BHVR made for the DbD chapter aren't connected to the chapter in any way? 🤔
No because they were for the game and then they separately gave them to the company, that was part of the licensing deal. The hellraiser NFT had no connection to the chapter, you weren't buying or supporting an NFT in any way, it was 100% tied to the hellraiser company, not BHVR.
-
@GoodBoyKaru said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2734874#Comment_2734874
So tell us before a large majority of people have already bought the chapter??
I mean it didn't have anything to do with dbd. They just gave them pinhead models they made, it's not like it was connected to the chapter in any way.

Then don't fund it. Simple as that.
-
Who cares if NFTs we're part of their license agreement? It was so dumb anyway, this community will freak out over anything.
-
Do bones.
-
I think most people DC because they found the game unfair in some way. Like you didn't actually get a good hatchet hit, the hitbox is just really big, and blight's hitbox is way bigger than his actual weapon so it feels like you got robbed.
-
I know on consoles like Xbox people just message each other salty messages because there is no chat. I would rather be able to talk about the game with everybody in an end-game chat than have to individually message people.
-
It's dumb because they're essentially saying if you use our cosmetics then you're racist which is not true. It's not a racist cosmetic, if anything it shows that Leatherface doesn't care who he kills and he doesn't judge based on race.
