So is disconnecting somehow better then? I don’t really understand. If someone doesn’t wanna play that particular round then whatever.
You know disconnecting is against rules and there is a reason for it? it just doesn't makes sense when DC isn't allowed because it hurts the match, yet they gave survivors a tool to throw game on purpose without any penalty.
Both is equally game breaking, and that is the reason one has a penalty, why do we have a method to practically DC without any penalty then?

dont face camp the hooks and people wont suicide as often. every action has a reaction.
Huh? If I face camp and they suicide, that's just free win thanks to their own sacrifice for losing.
I say this purely because it's just bad design and will hurt everyone, while not contributing anything to the game.

Yeah, I agree. Since they nerfed keys and nerfed the hatch if the killer closes the hatch and you're the last survivor left there's basically no point in trying to get a gate open, especially with no way out.
If they're not going to nerf no way out they should just make it so if the killer closes the hatch and you're the last survivor left then you just die right when the hatch gets closed. Then killers are happy because they get their easy 4k and you don't have to deal with any bs waste of time and can move on to the next match.
Yeah, hatches are generally just bs waste of time and better be removed.
-
I have a better way to fix this, just remove hatch and kill the last survivor immediately.
Now game is lot healthier, faster and fun for everyone.

Look forward to only Nurses and less killer players overall everyone :’)
Watch Nurse nerf be next; really feels like self sabotage at this point lol!
At least people will start to experience the suffering of console users where such mechanic abuse and control advantage that keep the game afloat aren’t applicable :)
Don’t want to play killer because it’s a miserable experience; don’t want to sit through longer queue times as survivor than the game length :/
They've already done enough self sabotaging, there is really nothing to care anymore.

Yes, try playing Blight, Trapper, Huntress, Deathslinger, Wraith, Hillbilly, Pig, Doctor, Hag, and Plague. You'll find that The Twins are A LOT more fun than those boring killers.
All of them was order of magnitude fun than twins tbh

I just wonder how long it gonna take to "fix" this bug.
And at the same time I suspect it gonna just make another "tech" kek
-
Why do we care about skill ceiling? it doesn't matter for balance, skill doesn't justify power, but power level against enemy does.

BHVR butchered him for no reason.
He had lose/lose game style (????????) for survivors lol. So Slinger was stronger than Nurse and Blight huh? Because both killers took add-on buffs on same patch.
According to statistics, that might be true.

But a coin flip is better odds than with most killers, because with most killers, walls, windows, and pallets all provide options for the surv. Those things are largely irrelevant to the Nurse. She just has to get close to you.
Boil it down to this: you are on one side of a safe loop, and the Nurse is on the other, do you feel the same way about your chances that you would if it were the Trapper? Or anyone else, really?
Is it an accident she is played at such a high rate at top tier/comp?
I'm pretty sure she is better than others, as in others are seriously lackluster?
-
@Thusly_Boned said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2945822#Comment_2945822
Well, yeah, obviously it goes both ways. But there's never only one possible outcome, so either side will always have a chance. The Nurse just limits your options as a surv more than the other killers do.
Again, Nurse can adjust in ways other killers can't; get near the surv with the first blink, you've got more. Anyone who has faced good nurses knows the feeling of having few options at loops. It almost becomes a coin flip in many cases.
But nurse can't adjust in ways other killers can, which certainly does affect how she performs.
coin flip will be considered fair because it means both side has equal chance.
The thing is, other killers have too much option on survivor's side, despite how they meant to catch up them.
-
face camping is problem but technically not against rules
so maybe not wrong, and probably not even against forum rules to post something like this, huh

An educated guess. Like in so many other aspects of the game (and life), people are fairly predicable in chase. Funnily enough, the better you get at the game, the more predictable you become. Even those who think they aren't, are. You play enough, and you have a pretty good idea of how people are going to respond in most situations. Which is really what the "skill" in DBD amounts to; predicting the actions of your opponent based on experience.
This is why I actually find looping in chase to be really boring, it's just a numbers game; you know with some certainty that your opponent is going to do one of only a few things, and when you guess right, you get the down. But it very, very rarely results in something surprising.
Nurse just so happens to be the best equipped killer in the game for punishing predictable behavior, as she is unconstrained by loops they way other killers are. Once you have good command of her technical aspects, and a ton of time playing the game, you have a recipe for generally oppressing surv teams.
And the old double back as counterplay really loses its effectiveness as you progress.
You know, survivors can also predict killer, and which will results win for them.
If people gets more predictable the more they get better, the chances are killer has no chance at all.
-
The only actually stupid aspect of flashlight is probably double locker save, anything else is stupid in a way but still fine.
-
I mean "nurse is not fine" is mostly only on their head anyway, every data is showing how balanced she is and how fair she is.
there is really nothing to talk about when we HAVE many evidence to tell how fair and balanced she is, while everyone talking about how broken she is are only talking it from their own imagination/feeling and nothing else.
-
better to just say "don't talk about balance" because that's pretty much it.
-
Tbh getting a better game is much less probable than DbD getting better.
But then, both is nonexistent anyway.
-
Nurse doesn't have control over a match as much as SWF does, so no, game is fine, at least when it comes to SWFs and nurse.
Probably not so much on pretty much anything else, mostly on killer's side as they can't choose to play as SWF though.
-
If devs were playing this game, or even having competent playtester, this game wouldn't have so much of questionable and frustrating game design.

It's the nurse with an "Omega Blink" Bug, its justified.
There is no justification in in-game mechanics.
But then there is no "why" in complaints because it is just... complaints.

literally getting out of the game 2 minutes is not a problem if game didn't take 10 minutes to find.
And it's the reason why killers are still better than survivors to play as, despite how rigged this game is.

What conclusive evidence do you give whenever you speak all the nonsense you usually do? Even if I did have access to direct data by the developers themselves, you'd interpret it in the most convenient way to reinforce your bias.
"Nurse has a 99% kill rate when used by high mmr players"
Your reply would be : "ThAT oNE pErCEnT iS AGainSt eQuaLly sKiLled pLaYErs AnD tHe othER 99 ArE N00bS.."
"Nurse is not fine" is only in your head anyway, every data, statistics and game design telling she is fine.
Btw, SWF has 99.9999% escape rate at high MMR, as you know.

Ok if that's the case then why do people complain about perks, characters, and strategies being unbalanced? Nobody cares about party games being unbalanced like Mario Party but everybody and their mother complains about Dead Hard. They complain about Dead Hard because it can cost them... wait a second... wins.
Because they do.
Why you care someone else complaining about the game? you have no reason to care whether others have it or not.

That is a very valid opinion because that is how this game works. If you want to just not care about "winning" and create your own win condition to use meme builds then that's fine. I think it's a problem that there is no official win condition because then why even play the game at all? I play competitive multiplayer games in an attempt to win because that's how a competition works.
If this game was Minecraft I would be fine with no win condition but this is a game in which you try to compete against other players so it's ridiculous to tell people to just create your own win condition to have fun.
Ok well if I can create my own win condition then if I unhook 1 person I win. You can't say it's wrong because there is no official win.
Truth is, this game is minecraft.
If you call it a win you win, ######### whatever survivors are saying because you set your own win condition, this game is a sandbox, not a actual PvP game.
-
MMR is not a win condition, MMR is not a major for the skill, MMR is not a reward.
They are there just to separate seriously sweaty players to less sweaty players, which barely works but still works.
Don't fool you by believing MMR has anything to do with your gameplay, they are only meant to help with matchmaking and NEVER meant to dictate how you play.
-
Remove it and you know what, killers are forced to slug out last two survivors and makes game much much worse for everyone.

If this is the hypothetical best nurse then the survivor is going down in like 20 seconds max since they can hit every blink. Sure SWF can power through gens but I’d say nurse has a pretty great chance there especially with perks like DH, ruin and starstruck.
Sure best of the best survivors can pump out gens ridiculously fast but they have no options in chase besides holding W until they die (which against range add ons especially is pretty useless).
You are simply telling lies, because survivors are dealing with range addon nurse just fine.
The truth is she is fine, whether you like it or not is entirely different matter but if both side is equally skilled the odds are equal even with best possible loadout she can bring.
Every ######### data is telling that the game is actually balanced when it comes to the case of swf/nurse.
-
Well dbd players in general tend to be very wrong in every way possible, whether they are killer or survivor.

Pipping has nothing to do with MMR. earning bloodpoints has nothing to do with your rank.
And if you actually read my post I talk about playing killer lmao.
And MMR has nothing to do with winning, because what it does is pure punishment for someone playing sweaty.

My post was quite sarcastic/satirical in nature, however:
The strategic value is not sitting on a hook staring at a camper for however long it takes you to bleed out while your team mates unknowingly come to your aid and get downed/ left on the floor or run off and do gens.
Is a strategy valuable to the team at large? No. Its a personal 'selfish' strategy that allows you to get into another match quicker where you can do more than wait for the three inevitable skill checks you have to do before you can die. But, the feature is is the game so its 'valid' and 'developer' approved.
The point i was making, via sarcasm which obviously didnt come across well so I apologise, is this DOES need addressing as it is boring and it does negatively impact people on the map - but so does slugging and leaving people downed. However, when you suggest the latter needs tweeking you're met with constant shouts of 'valid tactics' and 'developer approved' mainly from one audience, as ive noticed. As if that means it doesn't need to be tweaked when we all know there are many 'developer approved' things that need tweeking which are negatively impacting the experience at the moment.
I'm not sure where did you get "one audience" idea as that is not possible to know, but whatever.
There is plenty of counters for slugging but none of people cares about it, there is plenty of harm from suiciding but none of people cares about it, and even if someone explain it they don't care, I'm pretty sure which is the reason why people says just "this is approved by developer" because logic doesn't work in that situation.
Suiciding on the hook IS what should be removed, there is no reason slugging has to be changed to something that is inherently worse than slugging.
-
@gendoss said:

So there are multiple win conditions? The killer is playing an entirely different game from the survivors? The killer has to play the game trying to get the most kills but survivors are playing selfishly and only getting themselves out.
So if we should be treating the game that way isn't it an advantage to killers because survivors should be prioritizing themselves and not helping their other survivors off the hook and stuff.
Yes, if you want to "win" as survivor, you should always prioritize themselves over others, nothing strange because survival of other players doesn't matter.
Ultimately there is plenty situations that helping others does more benefit than harm, so it doesn't really benefit the killer either.
And then this game doesn't really have "win" or anything, MMR is not a win condition.
-
Elephant in the room is all the players, get rid of them and start over for better and less toxic environment.

Its a 'valid' and 'developer approved' strategy... so obviously it needs no tweeking. Wouldn't be surprised if that excuse only works for killer mains though. (Not aimed specifically at you btw - just an observation at how these types of conversations seem to go round here).
Huh? there is no strategical value in suiciding, it's just... literally killing themselves, and other survivors in extent, not like it helps them unless they are last two survivors.
It's seriously hurting *survivors* much more than it does for killers, and it's definitely worse than slugging in that matter.
-
@gendoss said:

Well that's how MMR works, a 3K and above makes you move up but a 2K is a "tie". Even on an individual survivor basis did I really deserve to die because I went down once in the entire game running to the exit gate? If what it takes to escape is not going down once then that is extremely brutal game design.
Aaaaand... yes, this game is ######### brutal by design, not gonna lie.
But you have no reason to care about how MMR changed for opponent, hell, you may even not want to care about MMR for yours, they are intentionally hidden after all.

Remember that if they are broken now, all they really have is that Dead Hard. Yes, they get it once but have to deal with exhaustion. The Dead Hard will not always time well for the Survivor or give them the same kind of distance as being hit.
Oh yes broken might be fairly good for risk-reward balancing, two hit chase is pretty normal.

Then cut the slug timer in half from 4 minutes to 2 like come on now.
When a survivor is on their feet. They can do gens to move the game forward and move on to the next.
When a survivor is on hook. They can sacrifice themselves and move on to the next game.
But when a survivor is slugged, they have to bring a perk to be able to do something or be forced to lay on the ground for FOUR minutes? Are we being for real.
Honestly, the fact survivors can suicide on hook is rather harmful for game lol
