Survivors have to play expecting the worst-case scenario: that the killer can stomp them. Gen rush is how you escape, and escape is what rewards that big 5k chunk of BP.

It's just like killers who go hardcore and stomp survivors at 5 gens left. They're afraid to pull back because the moment you do 3 gens pop and you find yourself losing. Snowballing is a big part of this game. It's worse for survivors though who can find themselves eliminated in a heartbeat having earned nothing.

Guilty. Went easy on a 3 stack that got off to a rough start because of their solo - I regretted that so much. I don't believe in brakes anymore.

AND LET ME STAY OFF SAYING NO I’M NOT A SURVIVOR MAIN-I MAIN PLAQUE BUT DO ENJOY PLAYING BOTH SIDES.

Ds is one of the few perks we have to counter tunneling, and no tunneling is not playing the game efficiently. How is it ok that once the game starts you get hooked and then when you’re rescued you get tunneled and hooked again, And again till you’re dead. You then depip because you got to do nothing but be tunneled that’s not ok at all. It’s like survivors are being punished for being good because in there stream they literally said “ we need to make changes because our kill count is too low”. So it’s a survivors fault for being good??

Also when survivors take protection hits for another survivor who has been tunneled all game then killers ######### because we body blocked and that’s not ok, but it’s ok to tunnel??

I don't think it's a fresh take, we agree. Besides, it also tells a better story. The perk had one job, for a valid tactic, and it did it well. Imagine a game where the killer splits his pressure between two, wins normally, versus some train wreck where he eats through bodyblocks, OTR twice, DS(Or unbreakable), only to find out they still have soul guard and they really should not have tunneled that one survivor - They gave up 3-4 perk slots for it.

Sometimes it's worth it to chew through that one survivor anyway. It's fun to have that choice.

Edit: But yes turn that ######### off the moment EGC starts.

Solo survivors don't have the coordination to deal with 110-second gens. Lots of killers will say lack of skill explains why solo survivors are unsuccessful. If killers need 110-second gens to deal with solo survivors, that is a a skill issue.

As far as kill rates, only numbers matter. The latest data is from Dec.-Jan. and show around 55% kill rate. Solos survive 15% less than SWF. This is a crossplay game, too. The Deathslinger on Switch is incorporated into the same data as PC MKB Blight even though they're two different things. Yet, they've received the same buffs. A lot of things on the killer side are going to be easy mode and not worth playing against for solo survivors.

Good. Let it. Let it create an imbalance if you're right and let it test their new queue incentives and let's see if the system works. What can I say? I've never struggled with thana legion, really? Even if it's the truth, it's subjective. Let survivors speak with their playtime, or find SWFs and adapt, and if the I's have it BHVR will do something about it -

or they won't - I'm looking at you Deathslinger Revert.

As one of the last Hillbillies out there, there are legit some many pitiful reasons.

1.Overheat actively punishes you for trying to use your Chainsawed as much as possible when it isn’t even that oppressive considering Bubba has a better insta-down, Oni has better curving, and Blight has better mobility, overheat he a dumb.

2.He is very punishing for mistakes a missed chainsaw will allow another survivor to get to another loop, this was fine before overheat, now it makes it punishing.

3.Animations are messy very hard to keep track of survivors.

4.No really good add-ons, none of his are super good, the best are engravings but for some reason they have a charge debuff while Oni and Blight arguably stronger have add-ons that don’t.

5.Maps are becoming very hard for Hillbilly, the hit boxes of objects have made it very annoying like a random branch not even close will clip you, and loops harder to curve, Eeyrie and Garden prime example.

Simply you have to put in so much effort to actually get some decent results with Hillbilly more with Nurse for example, who once you get muscle memory with blinks you’ll get results, while Hillbilly to get to that point takes much longer, because you have to get muscle memory of charge time, object hit boxes, every loop with curving, individual charge with add-ons with engravings, overheat mechanic limiting how much you can do, and it essentially makes it punishing experience which is why no one plays him casually or few try to master him anymore. Which is depressing since if they fix some issues Hillbillies could come back.

Just really needed to agree with 3 there. That's something he shares with all the other high tier killers. Nurse, Blight, Oni all have jarring visual impediments in their gameplay, but they get severe value out of their power. Billy players gotta be sadistic to get good enough to consistently use that thing. And that's my opinion on 3, alone.

I´m just tired of my teammates instantly abandoning the match, even when its a terrible nurse. Suiciding and hoping that she eventually gets nerfed because of that, isn´t helping anyone. Are people really so entitled, that they refuse to adapt to different killers, and expect that everything has the same counter?

Imagine you get non stop the same killer. That would become boring pretty fast. Variety is what keeps this game entertaining. We need more strong killers. Not more weak killers.

Really this, mostly because I see the other side. I have seen several survivors that I will remember by name because of how they played, but so often all I get is that DC Ding. I would send chronic DCers straight to DBD Purgatory, if I could.

4 stacks of Thana increase gens to 110 seconds. That's a difference of 14 seconds and approaching two minutes of holding a button that will inevitably get interrupted anyways. Thana is the worst of all words: unfun, uninteresting, and anti-competitive. And it's going to be even worse come Tuesday. It's an imbalanced, boringly conceived perk and it's boring to play against.

You're right, approaching two minutes of holding a button that can be done consecutively amongst your team. It's the same thing as before, just fresher paint. Even if that paint look bland as hell. I don't think it's anti-competitive when BHVR has said killrates are too low.

  • I can't really input. They appear harmless enough but they're never picked. Never see them and when I picked them for dailies I just slapped anything I got out of the bloodweb by level 40.

First of all, the point of this discussion is so people can be more informed about Nurse and maybe change their opinion on her, so that maybe the community will be less divided on this issue. I didn’t put in my opinion because I don’t want this discussion to be biased. I want to the focus to be on Nurse, not my own take on her.

Second of all, if you’re upset with my thread “clogging the front page”, then why would you ever comment on it for the sole reason of telling me that?

Because some people only learn by having it said to their face. For some people, even that's not enough.

He's right, too. Kind of rude about it but right.

I stand by what I said too, if you wanted this to be about Nurse, you would've replied shutting down the people who are not constructive. Anecdotal biases, speculation, and outright lying don't exactly seem in line with your first post hopes.

You didn't. You let the thread roll along just like Sluzzy does.

It's not about diversity, the Killer make games boring af. And that's a fact.

Seeing how your first post is just a complaint with no constructive criticism, it definitely becomes about diversity. You don't want to play against Legion, and you've put up nothing that would make legion fun to play.

  • Easy abuse by SWFs having one person DC so they can a get out with a vote and a single 5 minute penalty. That's why it is not going to happen.

  • While I agree mending isn't that fun, yall aren't really spending that much extra time on gens because of thana. He's not exactly kicking them or causing regression while he's frenzying around.

Also, you want killers nerfed and less diversity, this is how you end up with less diversity.

  • Give her 2 extra meters on her basekit blink, nerf or rework her ranged addons.

Also allow Nurse to file restraining orders against players who make multiple threads about her in under a month.

I don’t know how they can think unlimited aura blocking is ok. Even with a 30-second charge time in TR per token.

I always view it as a tradeoff. They're getting Distortion, but what are they giving up?

That's the real reason perk diversity is good for the game. If the other team has to rub brain cells to figure out the opponents kit, they end up with better outplays and a more rewarding game.

Distortion is strong as it is but if it takes someone's OTR, or their Circle of Healing, or their Exhaust perk? Delicious.

  • @Gindaen said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3061016#Comment_3061016

Distortion with 4 tokens and the ability to regain them via TR is kinda bonkers. You might as well just ask for the perk to be the iron will of aura disabling. It would basically eliminate any killer info gathering perk from the entire trial unless the killer is running some meme info build and bringing like 4 aura reveals or they're scratched mirror Myers.

If you played survivor and used distortion, you would realize that isn't bonkers at all with all the aura reading perks. You can lose all 4 Distortion tokens by doing a gen close to a totem or even just hiding close to a totem within the first minute of the game because of Undying.

Plus, there is a Boon totem that stops aura reading permanently that hardly any survivor uses. So that alone will tell you that 4 tokens and gaining them back in the TR is not bonkers.

Also hard disagree with you that OTRs long duration doesn't matter. You can be unhooked, healed, and go body block and annoy the killer with 3 health states twice a game if you want to be annoying with it. Its also the best anti tunnel perk in the game at the moment. I don't think it will replace BT as BT is now the only perk that will allow EGC camp counter (killer camping on hook -> survivor runs up and plays grab game/killer messes up and hits survivor -> survivor unhooks -> survivor just unhooked body blocks for the unhooker

Annoying the Killer means you're not doing gens or anything to advance the game. I wish annoying the killer would win you games, but it doesn't. It's the same reason that flashlight teams almost always fail. They annoy killer and don't do objectives. (Also the reason flashlights are the second worse survivor item behind keys).

All the Aura reading perks? Most killers have room in their loadout to outfit 1. Who's killing your distortion that fast? Additionally, if you're proccing Distortion that much, you're literally getting value.

If you're losing it to Undying in a way that you're not getting value, you're not paying attention. Besides, now you can get them back.

  • @fulltonon said:

You know, just remove hooks, let survivors respawn from four random location after 60 seconds.

Can't believe I'm saying this, but without reading the rest of this thread - this really is the nuclear option. If Camping really was as prevalent as people make it seem to be, and player base actually left for it - This is the quick and dirty fix that actually survives.

I played 38 games in one or two days, iirc.

So what, it takes people more than two days to learn how to properly use a Killer?

That sounds normal to me for power-oritented Killers. PH, Nurse, Nemi, Oni all probably take about that long to get results with. The difference is that you can't play Nurse like a normal Killer. Even an Oni without using his power can get a down and NOED camp, he's gonna get at least one. You cannot play like that with Nurse, if you can't blink well, you won't get ANY Kills.

It was hard for me to do because every time I would blink, I'd start to get nauseous, so I imagine I had a worse time with her than most people.

Or maybe she does take a really long ass time to learn. Everyone who thinks she's as oppressive as they claim really needs to put up their winstreak video. Either they're right, and they can reproduce the results, or it really is gated behind considerable skill and practice. Hell, they may even discover that there's a whole tier of Nurses they can actually face, if they didn't just give up on hook. There's a reason players measure themselves in 1000s of blinks.

  • @Pulsar said:

I've played enough that I am aware of how to "counter" Nurse.

I am also wise enough to know that there is little you can do against a meta Nurse.

Edit: You did, notification history dropped me on the wrong spot. We regularly tell players to try Nurse before mischaracterizing her. You did. You made it 38 games. So it's almost like that low kill rate isn't just people playing her 1-3 games and giving up. She earns her keep.

  • I'm convinced this is bait. Not for the Nurse lovers but for the Haters who want to latch on to something. This is just so extra and backwards.

This guy can pallet loop a Nurse!

That's awesome how do you manage that

Like, didn't you try to play Nurse? I recall a thread about it. How did you not get to that point where the Nurse clearly knew what they were doing but they were struggling with certain deadzones and rock/pallet combos because the survivor was eating their blink and they weren't realizing it?

How quickly did you give up playing Nurse?

  • @Huge_Bush said:

I will never advocate for DCing, but I understand that there are situations like yours that warrant wanting to leave a match. My soul leaves my body while I'm on hook if I see someone in chase and two people doing nothing.

pray for sweet death when I see one of the people who are doing nothing is just moon-walking in circles and another is just climbing in and out of a locker or hiding behind a tree. As my soul begins to leave my body, I temporarily lose control over my hands and miss the hook skill checks and leave behind those responsible for my agony.

I suggest the next time this situation happens to you that you go and make a delicious sandwich and pray that what happens to me happens to you and you can move on to the next match. Also, there is a cheese spread called Laughing Cow Cheese that many people sleep on. I recommend you try it out on your sandwich, it's delish.

When I'm getting kicked in the dick by one survivor that I just really want to figure out how to beat that's how I feel. Beside myself praying that the rest of the team is doing potato things and isn't also Mr. Untouchable.
