@Mister_Holdout I thought that most people who wanted a buff to solo also wanted a buff to killer to be able to address both. Why wouldn't they compensate killers if that's what people are wanting? I'm kinda disappointed they stopped considering it.
I'm not sure if fixing matchmaking would be enough, though. While being matched with weaker players can be part of the issue, the lack of communication is worse. It's so frustrating to have the nearest person (while on the hook) finish a gen and run away from you, assuming someone else is closer. It's frustrating second staging while the killer is no where nearby and it's frustrating to not be able to communicate that the killer is camping. Solo players have a harder time punishing campers due to that.
-
They're all pretty or cute in some way tbh.
-
You should get a win based on how many escape/dies imo, rather than points. All survivors need to do is escape. It should be considered a win if you kill 3 out of the 4, regardless of DCs and so on. You can't control what people do.
-
I honestly think a time out would work better than bans tbh. A longer time out every time you DC and enough DCing could lead to a ban (as it does now).
-
@starpilotsix said:
I mean DCing is lame, but wow, you're actually complaining about a killer dropping you because you don't get enough points.
Do you also complain if survivors don't let you get your full 800 struggle points on the second-stage hook but instead rescue you earlier?
You literally only have a few ways to get survival points. Give us more ways to get survival (that you don't need perks for) and I'll stop complaining. It's obvious why they were doing it. There's no reason to deny those points. You should still get them if the killer decides to drop you last minute 'cause THEY made the mistake to trying to take you to the basement miles away, not you.
-
I'm talking about scenarios where you would get points otherwise, but there's a loophole to deny points and people are using it. With DCing, you still get points as killer. Killers can DC in a way that denies any survival points, though. When they kill themselves on hook, you still get points for them stage 2ing and dying and arguable it screws over survivors more when other survivors do that. And "being too immersive" is like saying "killer camped/patrolled gens." It's a play style. What I'm talking about is scenarios where you would have gotten points and there's a loophole to denying those points. Why should that be a thing? Who does it help?
If you wiggle free from a killer's grasp, you're still doing so even if he drops you last second. Why is this even an argument you guys are trying to make?
@George_Soros said:
Lol right. Or if those bastards catch you when you're on generator duty, and hook you. That denies you points too. Unacceptable.
Or like DHing and dying on a rock instead of letting the killer catch you since that's exploiting the game is the same as playing the game normally omegalol.
-
No, that would just increase unnecessary dodging. Survivors can't see killer names due to it possibly being abused. Waiting for killers to get the same treatment.
-
I really like Moose Tracks, but I try to avoid picking up ice cream.

Idm the change. Before, it looked like spaghetti with sauce on it.

Yeah but no invincibility even I press the button at the right time.
It wasn't at the right time, Kikki. DH has a timing to it and as the others were saying, it's as long as the killer's lunge. The killer started lunging after you did the DH, so he got you.

You really don't see the OP argument...? Not all Nurses are mediocre. Some are good or even great. I have nothing against base Nurse, but it's quite troublesome when you start bringing in omega or multi-blink add-ons. The moment I hear a Nurse blink more than twice, I know how the game will go.
-
@prayer_survivor said:
When only killers play this game (killer vs killer) at last we start seen killers complaining about how op is nurse without addons or asking for prayer beads to be removed.
Nah, they'll just complain about the wait time and say it's 'cause the game's broken and not because people are leaving.
-
Main issues:
- Add-ons (some yellow and brown, mind you) would counter a one-time use perk in its entirety
- It wouldn't synergize well with Meg's other perks and her whole idea, really (she's a runner)
- Adrenaline is a boost. Adrenaline keeps people pushing forward in dire situations. So it paying attention to if you're exhausted doesn't make sense.
- It doesn't need a nerf.
Most games you won't make it to end game as survivor. The effectiveness of the perk is largely dependent on the scenario, too.

No actually that will never happen. We will continue to make reports and posts until something is done to prevent the game we love from dying, do to poor decision making by the development team.

You clearly didnt read the full post. Their jobs should be harder if they arent fixing the most important issues.
While camping/tunneling is one of the major issues of the game, there's a lot more that take priority and using the flagging system to flag people who aren't breaking any rules isn't helping anyone. You're keeping them from punishing people who actually cheat, lag switch, etc. by doing that. Posting on the forums is a better recourse. This way, you can gain a collective who agrees with you or give ideas or feedback. Reporting someone is just wasting time and it's quite petulant.
-
I'd remove the DCs and Rage Quits.
-
No, we're not making BT base-kit. The perk is too strong (especially during end game) to be something you're not wasting a perk slot on. Camping and tunneling isn't fun to face against, but we're opening a can of worms if we start banning over BM-related stuff. And reporting for things that isn't against the rules is against the rules and makes their jobs harder.

saves + gens would be a mess, IMO, but it surelly would be better than current version. as @ElusivePukka mentioned, nowadays this perk encourage people fighting for unhooks.
It may be messy, though I think it's something that can be ironed out. I'm not sure if they're able to count it for doing gens or healing, but they could maybe add skill events for "full gen"/"full heal" and it would keep track of how much you're healing or doing gens.

Calm Spirit also helps against Plag and Clown and perks like Infectious Fright and Iron Maiden.
Wait, Calm Spirit helps against Plag? I thought the coughing had no counter.

Survivors are strongest in chase and weakest in hiding. When you hide, you could be found out positioned, etc. What I find most annoying about doctor rn is the loud noise that accompanies the screaming. I'm hoping it's a bug.
-
I believe the idea behind it was that Laurie could see Michael coming or something like that. Also if OoO users needed to "git gud," they wouldn't be running that perk. If you're bad, the last thing you want to do is reveal yourself.
-
@Mtom912 said:
You’re probably versing potatoes tbh
Well, they aren't trying to rank, so more than likely.
-
Yeah the only thing those do is cancel out anything that isn't SB, but gl getting killers on board. Some still get tilted over survivors having exhaustion perks.
-
I don't think base Nurse is OP. It's the add-ons that get her too strong (such as Omega Blink and multiple blinks). The game featured a lot of misplays, like the Meg throwing down the pallet so that she was on the side with the killer or people running in straight lines, rather than circling around objects the Nurse could get stuck on. The map may be good for Nurse, but there is still objects they could run around that would cut off the Nurse's sight of them.
-
We want Clem, anyway.
-
Why'd you post a picture without anyone in it?
-
Isn't there already a bonus of shards for playing the other role the first time during the day?
-
Left Behind. It literally doesn't have a use now. I have yet to see a killer not just close the hatch if only one remains. Also no perks should be removed. Maybe just tweaked.

@fluffymareep I'm looking for a Switch game, because I only have Payday 2, which i got with Switch, at the moment. Something that will keep me playing for a good time, but cheap. Something like Stardew Valley. It DOESN'T need to be a Switch game.
Oh, sorry. I gave you a bunch of PC games. xD I don't have a switch, so most of the ones I know of are the expensive ones or the 30+ ones.
-
Slime Rancher is a lot of fun. What kind of game are you looking for?
I also really like Unholy Heights, Dark Souls, Dragon Age, Mass Effect, Niche, Echo of the Wilds, Kingdom, Stardew Valley, and Yonder.

@Orion said:
That's not rank hacking, that's just people not playing for a long time. If and when I play killer again, I will also be low rank, despite having a ton of experience.
The argument could be made for taking into account playtime as an additional matchmaking measurement, but what you described isn't indicative of hacking.
Someone I knew a while ago did cheat their ranks. It was when the DC punishment was first announced. They bragged about just cheating to get down to rank 20. They also cheated in items and offerings. I'm sure this is still a thing.

The entity deserves her own category.

@fluffymareep if you notice for the most part they are all weaker perks/powers so I generally don't think it would be a super-ultra god tier meta change. @ClogWench what do you think about this suggestion? I have seen you post on other anti-struggle threads.
That was the only thing I wasn't sure of, but it could translate differently to a game than I'm thinking it would. I know some people were concerned for newer players who aren't the best at skill checks, though.
-
@HazeHound said:
Its good as it is now. You want points? Fine take them.
You're really bad at playing along. The question was what you would add not if you think it's fine, which it's too hard to get stacks. It's so easy on killer to get 3~4. Survivors end up fighting over saves, though, and you'll often end up with no stacks, even if you're trying to go for the saves. It'd be better if you go stacks for healing or doing gens, too.
-
For the most part, I don't care what perks people bring (though SC is a waste of a slot). It's all about how you use the perks that annoy me. Healing instead of going for the save, using Bond to sandbag and annoy people and so on.
-
@Shroomburger said:
I’d just combine it with no mither
Well, then the survivor's version of BBQ would essentially be hard mode. No Mither needs changes, too, but combining the two wouldn't be good. And No Mither has nothing to do with helping your team and is often a determent.
-
@ElusivePukka said:
Seeing the killer's aura, granting a bonus to altruistic actions or specifically healing, I do like the idea of small buffs.
My personal favourite is to combine it with We'll Make It, given that WMI is a neutral perk so it wouldn't detract from the teachable roster, and as things stand WGLF is often seen as a selfish perk choice - give that extra healing, and it's not so selfish.
I forgot to say I like your ideas. c: I've seen people suggesting seeing the killer's aura. I think a small buff would be nice.
@ElusivePukka said:
For every survivor to emblem up, they each need two unhooks. WGLF makes that a contest to deny other people if unhooking is the only method, but it's still a good method - combine it with We'll Make It or some other altruistic buff, so it's not just a person hogging pips
That's why myself and others think you should be able to get it in other ways, too. Doing gens is part of living forever. Healing your team is part of living forever. I'm not sure how easy it'd be to implement that, though, to be completely honest.
-
Someone suggested something like this, paired with longer gen times so that it wouldn't be as stressful to killers who are actually pressuring survivors. You're talking about just making the hang time longer, right?
-
It'd be better if it counted for every did survivor, similar to Sole Survivor.

@fluffymareep thank you, do you have any suggestions to the main suggestion?
I dunno about perks/powers affecting the skill checks.

@[Deleted User] said:
WGLF needs a rework, IMO. I would make it receive a token everytime a generator is completed, every token 20% more bloodpoints. That's it.
Unhook tokens are bs, as a solo survivor, it amazes me those Davids sprinting everytime someone is downed instead of doing gens. Then the killer sees their scratch marks and they get triggered saying killer have camped LOL
I think it should be both saves and gens. Someone else has suggested healing, too. I think it should be easier. It's too hard to get all your tokens unless you're farming and it's a perk slot you could be using for something helpful.

WOW, just WOW! I generally talk about the damage that button mashing causes, and you go directly to water poisoning. WOW!
I read your entire original post and here is how it reads:
Hey, I’m the killer. You know, I don’t think it’s fair that a survivor gets 2 chances on the hook, so here is how we can kill the hooked survivor faster.
That is exactly what your entire post sums up to. I play both killer and survivor, with a preference towards killer, and I would never consider any of what you discuss as a viable option. Being on the hook should be nothing more than a time-out. The only thing in your entire post that is survivor sided, is the option to use Deliverance during second hook, which would mean that there is no counter to it.
So, there is the response that you asked for, both here, and the other thread. If any part of your idea became true, I can see people leaving the game in droves.
I didn't get any of that, though. If anything, it would make times longer, which wouldn't be an issue if the killer decides not to camp. It could be an organic way of punishing camping when/if they introduce additional objectives or change the gen times. It also gives you something to do that isn't button mashing. As someone who plays both and leans more towards survivor, I think it sounds fair and it could make perks more useful and possibly give you more points, too.

@HazeHound said:
@fluffymareep yeah of course, not even tagging so i don't reply huh? Over the years i noticed its very accurate asumption in cases like this. Judging by your violent response, you treat it as personal attack which indicates you feel that was actually true. I didn't say that you are teabagging or toxic in any way, just that not teabagging lowers your chances of beeing camped. But now i'm like 90% sure that you actually do.
Not using kindred and complaining about camping - this explains literally everything xD. I do agree we don't have anything to talk about.
I don't tag anyone? You're making a lot of assumptions. Also "violent response" is laughable. Please stop. Idc for baiters.
-
@HazeHound said:
Stop teabagging and beeing annoying can't without reason. Your camp ratio will drop.
Of course, if other survivors are braindead and don't do gens while killer is near hook, camping is the most efficient play to win. Simple math.
Troll account?
I could understand if I BM in any sort of way, but I don't.
BM means bad manners. So that includes teabagging, being annoying, etc. And it still happens, so maybe don't assume things? I'm not wasting any more of my time on you since you think Kindred is OP, which kinda makes you obvious. Anyone who wants to know my perspective on what I was talking about can take it from the rest of the thread.
-
Are we talking about friendly as in farming or friendly as in nice?

@Laakeri said:
DS + Deliverance are your solo que friends. Currently I only use DS and Iron Will instead of Deliverance to counter the Spirits.
DS doesn't help with solo if no one saves and deliverance doesn't help if you're the first one found and downed. I've honestly just been avoiding getting found and downed, though my first hook will be my last a lot of the times since my teams tend to drop like flies. The complaint was more so over the increase in trolly individuals who gets their rocks off from ruining survivor games, though.
-
Spine Chill counters tinker (and most stealth for that matter). Distortion counters Nurse's, though you could just not heal near to the killer. Jumping in a locker counters BBQ (so does distortion). Otherwise, you can walk one way, then go the other. You could also stay next to strong loops. Most bring BBQ for the BP. There isn't a perk that makes it impossible to escape. Getting strong/decent perks isn't "cheating."
-
@LordGlint said:
Practically ANY hooksave while using borrowed time would be considered a safe hook save though. Youd just have ppl farming each other to get their MoM. At least with the current state, it incentivizes body blocking, which could help the person being carried to wiggle off. Ppl use to body block like this all the time before mettle of man was ever in the game, dunno why the idea about it is somehow different.
Protection hits are inconsistent. That's why people have an issue with it. I've literally taken hits while someone was being carried and it didn't count. It would be more reasonable if protection hits were better and if it applied to healthy states, too. It isn't worth it atm. Anyone who have taken a hit for a stack will know you'll just be tunneled down next.

Light bringer doesnt matter if you have no altrusim through, I have depiped from games where the killer camped because all i got was gens and everyone did totems so barely any boldness. camping kills everyones game. You cant say it doesnt need to change
Well you have to do a ton of gens for it to count. If you escaped, you should get survivor, so you should safety I do believe. But like I said, it shouldn't affect your points if the killer camps since that's the right play in that scenario. I never said it doesn't need a change. I just think punishing killers more isn't the right answer.
