That's the thing though, if I want to round out a good game by killing them, I need to slug or literally throw my hands up and go "50/50 shot for escape now."

At least in the old system they had to try to get out and do some gens, but with EGC it rewards them for doing nothing.

I'm not handing someone a massive chance at escape for doing nothing just for the sake of it, so my only alternative is slugging.

You're complaining about survivors still having a chance of getting out, despite a boosted team, right? If they're as bad as the team, they wouldn't be able to make it to the hatch or the gates. The end game favors the lucky. It always has.

Why is no one talking about Brand New Part. What part is it? Where does it fit in? How are we installing it?! i thought we were just generator ticklers, we don't have the license for this!

This needs to be explained in the upcoming lore! Super important!

I'm not sure, are we playing the same game?. I mean if you meet good survivors, that will gen rush literally ignore everything in the game just to sit on gens, and on top of that they will run DS Adrenaline BT good luck my friend, they will get 3 out 100%.

Plus with how safe some of the maps are, only the bad ones die, that's the truth

Have you played survivor? It's actually really bad when you have a team full of people ignoring stuff around them. A good way of going into second stage and dying on hook or people being grabbed off generators. Also it doesn't matter how good you are. If everyone else on your team barely last 10 seconds in a chase, you're not lasting during that match and despite there being "ranks," it's still rather random a lot of times.

It annoys me that I have to slug more when I'm doing better. When survivors don't do enough gens and the hatch doesn't appear, but is still an option I have to slug or it can literally appear in front of them.

"Great work keeping those gens from being done, in return, any chance of information of where the hatch is will be removed for you and the last kill is made harder unless you make the game un-fun for everyone involved."

You don't need to slug, really. You could play out the game as normal. The hatch isn't really bias towards either side. As you said, it could spawn in front of the survivor, but it could just as easily spawn in front of you. RNG is quite random and clearly doesn't favor either side, given how close the doors can be together. I believe hatches are set before they actually appear, too, so the only way they could feasibly fix that would be to change how the hatch spawning works. I would go after someone who has hooks if the other person does not, though, since it'll give you more time to find and catch the other survivor. Otherwise you could guess where it could spawn (go to common spawn points).

  • Yes, let's make lobbies more easy to pick through. While we're at it, let's add killer names/profiles to the lobby screen, too.

  • It's like people forgot how much of a joke Legion was before, minus the cheese you could do as him. Have we forgotten how many times you had to hit a single survivor to get them down. He isn't nearly as bad as some people like to make him out to be. Does he still need love and some adjustments? Yes, but not to the extent of claiming he doesn't have a power.

  • They just need to make the door spawns fixed. That way it can be fair to both and not something that can be easily camped. Limit the spawns some if they still want to make it somewhat RNG. It's always laughable when a killer tunnels people down and gloats over their "success" and "win" while the gates were literally on the same wall. Like what do you expect survivors to do exactly?

  • @Kerbert said:

I always slug the second to last person in order to prevent the last guy from getting the hatch. Never seen nor heard of it being toxic and I've never gotten hate for doing it.

A lot of survivors don't like it when killers slug for the 4k, especially after the changed how the hatch works (where you can close it now).

  • It depends on the situation, but not really.

  • The entity can be whatever they'd like to be.

However wasn't it proven more efficient to work separately (i guess i just get the rushers and not the grinders)

It's more efficient to work on them separately, though a lot in the game is trying to get survivors to pair up more often. Survivors spawn together far more than they did in the past and it's all around safer to be with another person. Four eyes and someone else for the killer to chase, so you may not be chased if you run in a better direction than the other one. You get more points, working on gens together, too.

Lmao I need see more than 1 person per gen beyond rank 10 so oh well for discordance

You get more points being on gens together and there's even perks for it. It happens more often than you think. It's good information.

    @GrootDude said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/610852#Comment_610852

But if we only put it at high ranks then people will just de rank.

I agree with this. I've seen someone suggesting (I forget who) that we increase gen times, but also increase hook times to make camping less rewarding than just going around, normally. It needs to affect all ranks, though.

  • They've incorporated many perks to slow down the game (Hex:Ruin, Corrupt Intervention, Thrilling Trimmers, Overcharge, Pop Goes The Weasel, Discordance, etc.). We need something fixed with the base game, rather than yet another bandaid fix perk everyone has to put on their build.

  • SC takes to long to heal. It's better to bring along perks that would make regrouping easier and quiet your cries. It also isn't good to be healing yourself rather than going for a save if the killer's far away. Kindred's use is debatable. You won't be able to make use of it (can't see if the killer's camping) and a lot of newer players don't know what to do with information. Spin Chill is nice for knowing if a quiet killer is coming to you. I would say take them into a KYF and approach them with a quiet killer such as GF or Wraith. Additionally, it counters beads. They probably just need it explained to them how to use the perk. They won't be able to make good use of it if they don't understand how it works or where to look when it lights up.

It's dumb how you need a perfect game to get adept.

  • @Avariku said:

this is essentially what I do every single round so that I can keep from getting too many harcore swf players and can still have fun.

it's simple. Never camp, Never tunnel, just run around chasing people, sometimes even just slashing them and returning to check on gens/totems.

keep track of how many times each has been hooked, only sacrifice two of the survivors. don't kick too many gens or break too many pallets.

    tada, insta de-pip.

sometimes you might safety pip, but you can always "accidentally" miss a swing or "lose track" of a survivor if you want to ensure your depip.

(only problem is when toxic little twats annoy you to the point that 4k sacrifices becomes entirely too tempting and you end up double-pipping)

Wait, you de-pipped after getting kills? I always get a pip when I kill at least one.

  • From what I've heard, people will do meme games (treasure protecting Bubba, survivors are the killer run).

  • I think the difference is what the entity is looking for in the roles. Killers, for instance, needs to follow the entity's bidding, while survivors need to have the hope the entity can feed off of. The only way we could get a murderer is if they were a very hopeful sort, I think.

    Heh .. welcome to DBD.

And yes, Killers get berated all the time, its not a double standard its called bias.

Killers typically don't like survivors and survivors see killers as Bullies. Its never gonna change because the psychology of the game is set up that way. So no the game is not tilted in any way. Killers look for echo chambers, Survivors look for echo chambers. We still comment in each others echo chambers so a thread like this wonderful little ditty comes out. Its good times for me! Im ah' Socializun'!

It honestly is kinda refreshing to find a person so hellbent on spreadin' love an'-peace in a game about Serial/Slasher killers.

I however am not obligated to coddle and cuddle anyone.

People need to grow a thicker skin.

Just like people need to take stories with a grain of salt because unless video was posted, no one knows the full story. We can only speculate. Cause I dont believe everything I see or hear on the internet.

Love and peace my friend, Love and peace.

The game is ultimately that: A game. Encouraging people to take a more mature route when dealing with people isn't weird, regardless of what the game entails. It isn't bias, though. Someone posts a post where they're like "I got people being mean to me in end chat and I didn't do anything" you get people agreeing with them. People just assume survivors can't experience the same people people assume killers can't be toxic.

It isn't too much to ask people to be civil.

@fluffymareep I'm rank 8 and been trying to get to rank 7 for the past 3/4 days. Everytime I get 4/5 pips I get teammates like these and lose all of them and it's back to lvl 9 😣 don't know if it's just bad luck or I'm losing it LOL but this has happened about 4 times in a row.

What's your current build? It may be good to play more stealth or play a different play style. Being a totem hunter can give you a lot of emblem points now and a lot of times killers don't think to check their totems. It also saves you in the case of NOED. Otherwise being a gen jockey and bringing perks that'll let you know the killer's coming (like Spine Chill) is also a good idea, too. I'd honestly try talking before the game starts. Like a simple "GL" or whatnot. Avoiding getting down is your best course of action for pipping, though, when you're by yourself.

And the standard bed. How many times I wish could hide under a bed. The minus is easy to get caught under a bed, and could include a plus for increased struggle time for killer to pull out from the bed.

The killers wouldn't bother with beds unless they knew a hook was nearby if the struggle time was increased. More ways to hide and stealth would be great, though c:

This is why I think it's ridiculous to say "Only bad killers run NOED". Survivors at red rank and purple ranks often come loaded with Adrenaline plus instaheals. It's such a ridiculous double standard. How often do we hear "Only bad survivors run Adrenaline and instaheals"? NOED is ultimately a personal choice and I can't blame any killer for using it. The stigma around it is so dumb.

It isn't that "only bad killers run NOED," but NOED is often used to make up for a weakness, be it with the killer or with the player. A lot of times killers who are overly reliant on NOED chases one person the entire match and leads to little to no points for everyone. Camping killers also use NOED to get 1~2 more kills than the first. I think the last point is the biggest issue people have with it. It's honestly a nightmare when good killers run it. It ensures no one's getting out (except maybe by hatch), even if you by some miracle arrive to the end. It's overkill. It's a really strong perk.

You can't really use Adrenaline to net you a victory where you wouldn't have gotten one. Anything survivor had that had the same affect has already been nerfed (MoM, DS).

I'm by no means arguing for it to be nerfed. It's connected to totems and you can break all of them to deny the power. You can also break it after the fact. I think it's only an issue 'cause people don't play around the possibility of NOED. You get people grouping together, leading to easier downs, etc.

Insta-heals are dumb. They need to be looked at imo. -w- I've seen someone suggest a heal over time, which I like the idea of. That way you can't just use it and take a hit to get further away.

Yep. That's the one I've been talking about. Since they already started the WW theme, then why not push it a little further?

It's probably not something they wanna touch. I'd love for some steampunk designs for Legion, though. c:

  • Probably because pallets are a clean shape. It's probably easy to work with a board to test and play with ideas. They were probably looking for an interaction that can create a temporary path blocking for the survivor so that they may start the match with protection, but will lose that protection when it gets later into the match, making it more finite and tense.

@riotangel Doors you could close would be really cool. Or places you could hide under.

  • Yeah, they gutted it. It was too strong before, but it's not very likely to come into play now. It isn't even a gimmick perk. I've only gotten it off once, but that was SWF and I was literally running after people to take hits (killer carrying is inconsistent and didn't seem to give stacks), telling people to run straight to a further away loop, etc. Most normal playing, people get caught at loops and not on the way to the next loop and two people at one loop is really messy. Also, I'd often get a "Protection Hit" that wouldn't stack it. Kinda frustrating.

  • I don't think a cooldown is necessary, but maybe have it at the typical killer terror radius? That way if someone stealths over to you (like Wraith or GF), you won't be able to see everything they're doing.

Getting BPS or escape cakes in a web is amazing, so nice when the survivor bloodweb pays off (for once).

That’s kinda unexpected but interesting, I rarely see people use maps even though rainbows track everything and give bp. I personally love finding good medkits, I never touch self care so med kits with added charges and botany, it’s amazing. I’ll have to try using maps more.

Oh, I feel that. Most of the time all I get is items and add-ons I don't use.

The information is nice and you get points for running around. X3 Not much, but it's still something. I usually bring a Crystal Bead so that other survivors can find gens and totems. Helps with coordination for solo teams. I remember a while back, I would essentially bring in a map as a helpful gesture while I was deranking. Around that time, I'd also sabbo to waste time and get points, but then I'd end up pipping anyway 'cause the hooked person happen to be near to me and I'd feel guilty for just leaving them. -w-

Maps just don't come off as toxic, I don't think. They just help you find stuff. c: I don't usually run SC, but I run Bond and usually just get someone to touch me when we regroup or go find someone. If you use Maps, I usually put the twine (killer equipment, red if I remember right?) with a crystal bead for the green ones. Rainbows come with all the reading, so I put something for further reading or longer burn time. X)

  • When I find add-ons, perks or offerings I'm looking for, it always makes me happy. BPS can be hard to come across and it's nice to get extra points.

I quite like finding Rainbow Maps on my survivors, too.

  • @AngelKings said:

Like I said up top. First time using this and I just pushed buttons.

That's okay. If you go to the section, there will actually a "New Discussion" red button that will place the discussion into that particular section. You can also read descriptions underneath (unless on mobile) about what kind of stuff goes in there.

Also if you quote someone, they get notified of your response I do believe. Otherwise they'll need to check back and won't know if you're responding to them. c: Welcome to the forums.

  • You get some who are and some who aren't. A lot of times with SWF, it's a bit of an echo chamber of sorts. You have 1~3 other people going "yeah, you're right" and "how dare he, is he looking for you?" and they don't consider the bigger picture. You also have people defending weaker members. Like I played with a team where my Dwight friend was really weak (and in red ranks, too). Like we tried to block and even with all of us blocking and near to the door, they still managed to go down. The people I was playing with went after the killer for tunneling. When you play with a weaker/lower ranked friend, you want to protect them. I think people project their own failures onto the killer sometimes.

It's always nice when you get wholesome people, on either side, though. ❤️

    It makes my day, honestly.

  • @MandyTalk @Peanits or another mod, could you possibly move this to the Killers forum? OP accidentally put it in the wrong spot I think.

  • I mean... he was running No Mither. I thought people ran it to either de-pip or get an extra challenge. If he didn't know where to go or hide, that's kinda on him. SWF can be over protective of their ducklings. I wouldn't think too much about it.

  • Legion. ❤️ I have quite a few of the perks on them and they're just who I'm most comfy with atm. I used to main Trapper, then Wraith. Billy can be fun, too, though I usually only play him for dailies.

Sure the killer shouldn't have acted that way, I would have accepted my loss with a bit more dignity. However looking at your perks, seeing that the killer was running the full gambit of perks and addons and knowing how SWF typically acts/works, I do not for one second believe you guys were innocent, and played like perfect little angels. I can see why he turned into a pillar of salt.

And then you post it like its some sort of exhibition trophy.

This is why you get Killers who throw courtesy and fair play out the window. This is how you create a toxic killer who will stop a nothing to make future survivors suffer. Bravo, you unleashed another one into the world. Stand proud.

Personally I give no care either way, I am well past this point. I'm past emotion when it comes to a match now, survivors may as well be bots these to days. I only concern myself with the score. The bloodpoints are all that matters to me now.

    Pretty amusing over all.

Survivors are never innocent. If a killer posted something like that, people wouldn't be going against it or being like "yeah right, you did something to deserve that treatment." Why the double standard? Both sides have petulant, impolite children.

And then you post it like its some sort of exhibition trophy.

Or, you know, they shared it 'cause what they said upset them. It wasn't nice treatment. They could be looking for validation or bringing awareness to this sort of behavior.

This is why you get Killers who throw courtesy and fair play out the window. This is how you create a toxic killer who will stop a nothing to make future survivors suffer. Bravo, you unleashed another one into the world. Stand proud.

Imagine being so triggered by a post being made that your whole world view shifts. A post that has nothing to do with you and how you behave about someone being belittled and spoken down to for no reason.

  • What rank are you btw?

I just had a match where I got hooked on the hill. 2 Megs are on the generator directly below me. And guess what they do? Absolutely nothing, they know I am there and they purposely don't help. One even runs around and up onto the hill to evade the killer who's being distracted by the other Meg and runs right past me, back on the generator (they had plenty of time to save me and chose not too - I'm also assuming those 2 were swf) *insert slow clap*. I have been on a massive losing streak recently as I keep getting put with teammates like these and de-piping multiple times in a row because of it. 🙄

This sucks when it happens. I've had games where a SWF decided I wasn't worth saving 'cause I took their friend off the hook while the killer was around (they didn't go down, though. It was safe). They pointed, t-bagged, and left me to die on hook. This was my first hook. I also had someone decide they didn't like a person's name in the group so she went out of her way to hook farm everyone.

  • Honestly the lack of communication makes things rough, too. Like I'll wave for them to follow 'cause where they are isn't safe to heal and they'll just like stand there or no one will know to go for the save. You also can't tell them "Please stop looping around me" or "Just grab me before second. I'll manage."

Yeah! He's such a cutie. <3 He really likes hanging from the ceiling and surprising me when I get home. X)

  • While I think game modes should exist to separate add-ons, etc., I'm aware that could thin out the player population quite significantly. Alternatively, they could just make restrictions for SWF that no one can bring in the same item/item type/add-on. Have a little bit more variety.

People find issue with NOED due to scenarios like this where everyone died, despite multiple people possibly being able to escape. They were probably an (at least) 3 man SWF, though. Kinda on them to put someone on totem duty or communicate if they've gotten them and if there's three coordinated, they're usually at an advantage than a team of solo players. Usually when there's more than one insta-heal, it's a bully attempt.
