  • If it was cheating, they wouldn't have voice channels on their official discord. Please stop.

  • Doesn't the movie take place in a smaller space than most DbD maps? That's probably why.

It's not impossible, but it's significantly harder than SWF.

I still don't understand why they haven't added something for Solo players. Why aren't there some UI icons next to survivors to indicate what they're doing? Chased, repairing a generator, cleansing a totem, etc. Why isn't there a dull totem counter? I just don't understand. And tbh I don't think that something like this would be hard to implement.

@FeelsVeryBadMan My only guess as to why something like that hasn't been implimented would be that people have a ton of different ideas and they don't know what approach they should go with. Additionally, some seem to think adding support for Solo would be OP and they want Killers buffed first.

  • SWF has a lot of benefits Solo players do not. Not only is coordination better, but they actually care if you have a good game and are more likely to avoid DCing on you or leaving you to die. Part of me wonders if the ranking system was set up with SWF in mind since teamwork is so important for gaining ranks. It's also reliant on the other team being good, too, unfortunately. I wonder if some are still having issues with getting stuck in the higher ranks.

How quick we are to forget that the Spirit is viable BECAUSE Killers complained. She was trash in the ptb.

The only issue with this is that it's too preemptive. You haven't tried the killer, the power, the perks. People are just hopping on a trend of complaining about any change to killers or any new killer being introduced. It's honestly starting to get old.

Listen, if you want to pip as a killer and this thread is about that, you need to adapt to how survivors are going to play in order to get a pip right? And you can't just blame the devs for making pipping so hard for the killer. Ok if the OP doesn't play for pipping, just play for fun, memes... then I wouldn't have written that. If you want a pip, you need to earn it. I used the word "force" just to emphasize that.

@PeenutsButt3r If you want to pip, you play in a way that will help you pip. It's still the Devs that changed what you have to do to pip (multiple hooks, etc.), though I personally don't find it all that difficult to pip. Survivors also have to adapt to the other side and teammates. It isn't just Killers who need to adapt to the game they're given. I wouldn't consider the Survivors to be "forced" by Killers and other Survivors, though. They're just working within the rules of ranking that the Devs have laid out for both them and Killers.

  • @UkilledLegion said:

@fluffybunny At least rank system must be same.I know why main survivors not play on red ranks :D becauseeeeeee its difficuuuuuuuuult and they cant do anything without voice programs :D but mainsurvivors very like to teach how to play killers :D

    Lul

@UkilledLegion It actually can be very difficult to rank as survivor. Your pips rely so heavily on your team being competent and the killer being competent, you'll remain the same rank or even depip if they're even remotely not. If people decide to kill themselves, that hurts your pip, too, which happens a lot in solo play. I'm not sure what you're trying to say with the second portion. No offense meant, but it's kind of gibberish in English.

  • People are against going slower (understandable) and wiggle timer going faster (curious as to why?). How do people feel about the blocked aura area being bigger?

  • If the survivors are being "toxic" and sabboing, killers should get the hook back instantly and the toxic survivor should be downed. Neither sabboing or slugging are toxic. You can work around both and both take some effort to pull off correctly. There's a perk for that, too. Just run Unbreakable or No Mither.

  • @28_stab_wounds said:

If you want to counter nurse just do the same as you would do with a hag

    crouch, play sillently, avoid chases.

What makes her broken are her add-ons tho, extra blinks and range add-ons are nothing to mess with especially against an experienced nurse

@28_stab_wounds You can also lose sight with her. Go in and out of buildings, go over things she might accidentally blink into, go behind things she can't easily blink through (where she could hit you). Puppers referred to it as dancing and I have to agree lol. Dance with the nurse.

Let me correct that: "The survivors force you to play a particular way unfortunately."

No one's forcing you to play any way and it isn't the survivors who make the terms for pipping; it's the devs. Your blame is misplaced @PeenutsButt3r

Agreed. She should have an ultra rare add-on that gives her a third blink, but the third blink should go the same distance as the second blink. Anymore blinks than that is overkill.

Another ultra rare add-on could be that she makes no screeching while blinking or that she has no heartbeat while blinking.

I really like this idea! Thank you for sharing @MegMain98

It's only an unpopular opinion because 80% of these forums are Killer cry babies who wouldn't have the first idea of how to play Survivor without crouching around on the edges of the map waiting for better Survivors to loop Killers, rescue allies and complete gens against insurmountable odds of YEARS of killer buffs

Wouldn't it be newbie survivors? Crybaby killers would be for nurse giving a buff 'cause facing survivors are too 'hard.'

  • Any killer I'm not super familiar with, honestly. You get bullied so hard.

  • You don't need Small Game. Even if it's for Ruin, it'd be better to practice your way through the skill checks. If you hop off briefly after a "good," it'll help you get the gen done. Once it stops sparking, it can move again. If it's for NOED, that only comes into play when end game comes. You don't get that many points while cleansing dull totems and it's honestly better to keep up the pressure with gens and saving than to stop to cleanse a totem that isn't lit.

While you're new, you should avoid perks that help others imo. We'll Make it, BT, Kindred, etc. I'm guessing by your build that you don't have any other characters to 40. Dwight would be a good one to work on next for Bond (good for information on who's doing what), though David is also rather helpful for points. If you run Self-care, maybe consider running Botany, too. Helps with the time.

Of the general perks, Deja vu is really good for knowing what gens to target and learning to keep an eye out for it (as you expressed). Premonition is good for seeing where the killer is coming from and learning to look around yourself. If you can afford to buy other survivors and put points into them right off the bat, I would recommend picking up Kate for Windows and Feng for Technician (to possibly mask failed skill checks).

  • You're not the only one to suggest this and they even tried it out, pretty sure. SWF was abusing it by looping around the hooked survivor so that the person on the hook had a longer timer (it takes pressure away if people don't have to go for it right away). BT is an anti-camping perk and you can still sneak around the killer and get them off or do a trade. Insta-heals are also a thing.

  • I've heard of some people who bring it along to encourage Franky's so-to-speak.

  • Try bringing in a map offering for one you wouldn't mind? I've been seeing The Game multiple games in a row and whenever I see it's the snow map, I die a little bit inside. Auras are really hard to see on that map.

  • @VESSEL said:

I find that buying a survivor just for the character is weird, considering they're all skins and offer no real advantage. In reality, you're buying a skin and the ability to get more skins for that character later on alongside the main benefit of having more perks to put into builds. Only the latter is really an important factor

They're also a voice. @MineAntoiya Their bodies are also different, too. Try putting Jane on Kate, for instance, or Kate on Meg.

  • The killer must walk 50% slower when going backwards (nobody has seen a killer in movies walking backwards going fast)

If we're going for realism, then survivors have stamina (killers obviously don't since they're abominations)

The hitboxes of knifes/survivors must be reworked or at least dont make survivors getting hit behind walls and clearly we hate when the knife doesnt even hit you

They would also need to adjust it so that killer hits hit, too. c:

Pallets must be like before because with the issue written before is frustrating getting hitted/non-hitted inside/after and while putting down a pallet

No. Learn how to time your pallet throws.

After a jump in a window you get hit even if you are far away from it so limit the range of a hit trough a window (but i think its the same if you fix the second issue)

You can reach through a window. This doesn't need to be changed. It's typically an issue with latency.

Some survivors perks must be reworked to be usefull like Lightweight must be 4/5 seconds less instead of 3 because its useless and has its counter when i think its the survivor that should have the counter of the killer

Make killers massively OP in comparison to survivors, then we'll talk about survivors needing counters to killer.

  • First Portion:

    1. You get more points (BP and emblem) the more you work on generators. Sometimes the randoms you're playing with will be nearby or come across the gen, too.
    2. It's better to wait until end game to deal with NOED. You waste too much time going around, cleansing totems. Mind you during this time, people are running the killer and wasting pallets. The less pallets you have on the map, the more likely you'll be in a dead zone and easily killed. Small Game is somewhat of a wasted perk slot, too.
    3. Sometimes people will come for you, sometimes they won't. It's rather random.
    4. Remember while playing solo, people are often in SWF of 3 or 2 and sometimes people bring in BT for a random build depending on what they're facing. If I go against a lot of campers, I'll bring in BT. I'm also good enough to know how to block someone being tunneled and willing to swap with the hooked person.
    5. Depends on ranking, really. Ultimately your goal is to lose the killer. You won't pip or get a lot of points by being chased all game.
    6. They're just opening the chests. It isn't to spite you. COMMUNICATE beforehand that you have the perk and can get them nice items.
    7. This is why Bond is so useful. You can see someone heading for it ahead of time. Regardless, you can join for a heal. Makes it quicker and the person you were wanting to save would be more likely to be healed if the killer were to come back. If you're intercepted, loop and try to lose the killer.
    8. Yeah, this scenario sucks. Why I recommend not getting hooked while solo. It's 50/50 if people will bother to come save you.
    9. It sucks when people don't body block you on your way out, but there isn't anything to encourage them to try to get everyone out. Sometimes you'll get the helpful kind who'll block and help you out. Sometimes you don't.
    10. Why would people inform you it's used? They wouldn't do so in SWF. It's part of your job to keep an eye on the map around you and if you're running towards a place where you think there might be a pallet, maybe you shouldn't. If you're having troubles going to places that may or may not have a pallet, maybe don't over extend yourself (going past a pallet) or bring Windows to see where pallets are.
    11. Ok

    Second:

    • I don't think you're saying what you think you're saying
    • Solo play should be adjusted to be tolerable when compared to SWF, not compensated for playing the "harder" mode
    • Create your perk build according to what helps you survive that day. If you come across a lot of campers, BT.
    • Also your errors, too. It isn't just your teammates in the game. Keep that in mind

Not every SWF is toxic, though playing Killer mode could be a change of pace if you're getting sick of being camped or tunneled or having incompetent survivor friends. You always have the choice to play killer. It'll help you survive if you learn the other side.

  • A lot of killer rituals are easier to do, really. Most survivor dailies take two trials, while I've found I could do killer rituals in one game. Regardless, rituals are there to encourage you to play characters and roles you're not used to.

  • @Mc_Harty said:

The problem with Ash is that he's the same as other survivors, minus the unique cosmetics. It's not like killers where each one makes you play differently. So of course it doesn't surprise me people only bought Ash for perks since they're the only thing that changes the game for survivors.

@Mc_Harty Ash came from something. So you have people getting him 'cause they're a fan of Ash and you also have people getting him because they get all the DLC.

The game was balanced with voice comms not in mind.

So the solution is to balance it with voice comms in mind.

Yeah, I know, a lot easier said than done obviously, but really, the goal itself is quite simple.

Really, the whole deal with SWF is an annoying one. It's needed to keep the game alive, but at the same time, it makes the game hemorrhage players. Good for the game short term and makes the game suffer long term.

@Sairek If they balance the game with voice comms in mind, they need to do so for both killers and solo survivors.

  • @UkilledLegion said:

maybe as I wrote earlier voice programs a big problem in this game

The problem is they haven't done enough to make killers strong enough to face off against SWF 'cause Solo survivors lack in the communication and coordination and Solo would often take more of a hit than SWF. They're also hesitant in giving base-line buffs that would help solo players, regardless of how unaffected SWF would generally be. And people support not buffing solo or giving solo more tools for some reason.

People who try to say it's cheating hurt any argument they're trying to say, though, especially when you consider their official discord has channels people can SWF in.

DH is fine, you're missing my point, I'm not saying we should nerf DH. I'm pointing out DH is much stronger than MoM and they're listening to whiny killers and nerfing MoM even though it's such a balanced perk as is.

It's isn't a 1 to 1 comparison and there are some in the killer community who regard DH as "unfair" or "cheating." What are they changing MoM to btw? EDIT: Just saw the change. MoM needs a change, I don't think protection hits is a good idea. Killers don't like people body blocking the hook and that will just encourage it.

  • With DH, you don't get a sprint burst to get to the next area. It's like a BT hit without having to mend. DH is fine the way it is. MoM needs adjustments.

  • @TreemanXD They'd probably have to make a new event. One that's similar to a safe unhook. If you're out of chase for a period of time, you would get a stack. You'll have to be in chase for a period of time, too. That's what I meant when I said limitations.

  • Why is No Mither not on here? It's a joke perk. Killer has nothing that actively works against them like No Mither does for survivors.

  • Honestly, it could be a decent perk. I really have no idea.

  • I think MoM should still relate to chase, personally. We already have a perk that encourages safe saves to get off and MoM is more of a chase perk than a hook save perk. I don't think I came up with this idea, but MoM could activate for every escape, rather than every hit. It would need some limitations and stuff, but I think that way it would be more of a reward thing and would also encourage people to break chase with the killer.

I'm not bashing people for playing survivors except the bullies. I'm bashing the map and game design that allow for them to get away with so much without putting in much effort. I play both, I was playing survivor right before I played killer, and the differences where as always stark and contrasting. I was relaxed and barely had to think while playing survivor, and I could run the killer around and get gens done, I could force the killer to have to split between two half of the maps by myself, and I was playing solo. Compare to my killer game where I have to be on 110% mode at every moment with no time for a breather or relaxation because as soon as I finish a chase with somneone I have to run across the map to try and keep another gen from popping, and its just egregiously stressful and takes all of my focus. Thats all I'm saying is I would like for both sides of gameplay to come somewhere to the middle of these completely different feelings.

I was relaxed and barely had to think while playing survivor, and I could run the killer around and get gens done, I could force the killer to have to split between two half of the maps by myself, and I was playing solo.

What game where you playing? c: 'Cause we're not talking about the same game. Just because you're lucky and get inept killers every single time and survivors who work with you, doesn't mean that's the experience for everyone. Honestly I play killer when I want to relax after being farmed or 1 hooked multiple games in a row.

The game comes to mind for super safe pallets.

You mean the most killer-friendly map?

  • Playing with three other (often boosted) survivors, farming, sandbagging, tunneling, camping, less points than killer. Huntress Iri heads, Nurse's long blinks (she doesn't need more map pressure) and multi-blinks, insta-saw, prayer beads, Moris. Both sides have unfun stuff to face and unfun aspects of it and It isn't just survivors who bully new players, either. Survivors aren't the only toxic ones. No mode is "easy mode." You just need to adapt to what you're going against.

So regarding the Bunny Feng outfit, it's more complex than it looks. So basically, the body of a character is separate in 3 parts Bottom, Torso and Head. So if we want to do Bunny Feng the hoodie has to fit with any other torso and sadly at the moment it's impossible.

@Patricia Does the colors clash with all her other outfits or is it a clipping issue? The colors can always be changed if it's the first and if it's a clipping issue, I'm sure people wouldn't be too upset with the outfit being adjusted to make it not clip. If it's an issue with the jacket part being too long, it could be shorter, too. I believe I've seen Claudette with a long jacket, though, so I'm guessing it's not that. You can also adjust it to make the blouse longer or just make it a one-piece outfit as others have suggested.

  • @Peanits said:

Being unable to save might be a bit much. If you've got a 20 second mend time, that's a third of a hook stage right there. The rest I don't think would be too game changing, ideally you'd want to mend before doing them anyway (maybe barring totems, since getting a hex out of the way might be worth going down). I wouldn't be against the idea necessarily, but I'm curious to hear what everyone thinks about it.

@Peanits I'd be for all of it being treated the same as Doctor's madness. I believe you can still save and open gates while in tier 3. Either that or as @TWiXT said. I think the biggest difference for using Plague as a comparison is that her ability doesn't eventually down you. It just puts you in Broken, so I don't think chase related actions should be included since it would make tunneling too strong. Just chase down the person until they fall.

And here's me thinking this thread was going to be about the nature of reality and why conscious thought affects physical reality on a sub atomic level.

I cant say I'm not disappointed.

I was hoping for something deep, too, tbh. @SlinkyJinky

  • Perception is *your reality.

It isn't that Spirit is OP. You have to take into consideration rank and people's skills. If they've never played or looked into how to counter Spirit, she can seem very OP. Any killer can seem OP if you don't know their counters. I will say Spirit is very strong, otherwise. One of the tops.

  • Ruin is really strong if they fail to find it and it's more of an issue for good to average survivors (if you use it on bad survivors, you're just cruel). If you get really good gen jockeys, they'll be able to hit all of the greats, though a lot of them rely heavily on stealth and aren't too good with chases. Even if they hit all the 'greats,' they're doing the gen slower.

It actually helps players to learn hitting those great skillchecks, which results in faster progression on everything.

You make a good point with this, though.

What are the alternatives? Whispers, discordance, surveilence, knockout, sloppy butcher, devour hope and noed. Use one of those instead of ruin and you will improve.

You forgot Corrupt Intervention, Thanta, and overcharge. I wouldn't consider Whispers, Surveillance or NOED something that affects in-game pressure, either, or generators.

With ruin on, you will get through many trials with ease, but then face a wall of genrush.

Higher ranked survivors are more likely to adapt and you do make a good possibility, though a lot of really good killers use Ruin and it's more to just slow the game down than anything else. Getting better at playing killer is something that comes with time and practice.

I think my least favorite part of Ruin is that it's a Hex perk. It's completely unreliable whether it will help you throughout the match or get cleansed at the start (unless you bring TotH). I think different perks can benefit differently killers differently.

  • Personally, I try to avoid tunneling unless I've been given a good reason to do so.

Have you been toxic? I'll tunnel you off hook.

Breaking hooks? You should expect them to try to take you out.

I'll purposefully just ground someone if I've felt I've caught them too soon, though it also depends on how the game is going. My goal is for a reasonably fun game.
