  • Uh, are you new to the forums? The majority of threads are from killer mains who have been complaining, sometimes justly, about survivor perks and SWF for years, or just how unfun the game is in general. BOTH sides complain, constantly. Survivors right now mostly have been complaining about camping, slugging and tunneling as they have for years. Killers about boons and Dead Hard now that the previously complained about keys were nerfed. It never ends.

That being said, your entire post seems to be building up the fact someone sent you a hate message about NOED. Use what you want, there will always be folks complaining.

  • When it comes to crouching 'teabagging' learn not to care. The same with being hit on hook and power spammed, its bming behavior but in the end it only hurts your feelings if you let it. You don't even have to observe the behavior at the gate. When the game is over you're not locked in your seat. If they want to waste time go take a bathroom break or something. I know on the occasion where I am slugged to death I switch to another screen and watch youtube.

  • Unfortunately, this type of behavior is in every vs game now. People hate to lose and you have a lot of teens, children, and immature adults playing this game who think they are being edgy by throwing out the nastiest comments they can. Nothing the devs can do about human behavior but ban-if that even works.

  • I find Pinhead annoying to go against for the same reason I hated going against Blights when he first came out. 90% of the players are using the same hoarder/Franklins build and the chain hunt is constant. On larger maps it is a pain to get to the box in time so having it in your possession (and the killer usually has duration add ons that make it slower to solve) is almost impossible before someone is hooked. On smaller maps Pinhead runs into his box even when you are not holding it and the chain hunt begins.

Then I hear there are people that play him so much they know where the lament configuration spawns right off the bat. Haven't seen this yet, but that sounds like a nightmare too. When people first played Pinhead they would teleport constantly, now they don't teleport because hoarder tells them you've picked up the box and they just interrupt you solving it, pick it up, chain hunt and down you because 50 million chains keep spawning. The constant need to break chains is the most annoying thing I have ever faced in this game and I've played it off and on for over three years. Don't get me wrong, its good tactics, but tedious and boring as all get out.

Also, playing solo and even with a two man, I have found my teammates don't want to pick up the box so I end up taking aggro even while injured. There can literally be a full health person running around during chain hunt like their behind is on fire and the rest is catching.

How is it free when you need to time it perfectly or you just go on the ground?

To op, because after ds complaints its the turn of dh, after dh it will be for adrenaline and after adrenaline bt

Agreed. On both sides its just a matter of going down the list of any meta perks and complaining until they are nerfed.SB is next. One thing we don't talk about here is another free, non-perk, in the game for killers. Its called Bloodlust. You know that thing that shortens chases with absolutely no input from the killer?

Also, the standing still DH ' was' nerfed. It won't even light up as active until you run.

  • Frankly I'm amazed so many people are managing to kill themselves in your games. The few times I've tried it someone always yanks me off the hook, and I never even struggle to second stage. They literally won't let me die on my second hook unless the gates are open. :(

  • If you don't want to play the game, why try to take other players with you? Same for survivors who don't want to play. There are hundreds of other games that will be less stressful for you. I wish you all the best.

  • I honestly think that behavior is moving away from Hex totems where the killers are concerned and focusing on making their powers about the hooks. They already said Scourge hooks are just the beginning of specialty hooks that result in status effects for survivors so I expect the next killer to have some sort of hook perk. I agree that current hex perks are too strong not to offer the option to cleanse them.

On the flip side, it appears that survivor perks will be more focused on hexes. If the community is losing it over these two perks, which I think will be nerfed, and rightly so, we can expect to see more of the same in future releases.

Survivors don't need anything. Seriously if after seeing this you still think it's not survivor sided, nothing can be done to save DbD.

    And i'm mainly a survivor.

Imagine being a killer and facing a SWF of 4 survivors with 80% of Ayrun's skill... Ye every trial are impossible to win, even with tier S killers.

Interesting question as devs never really listen to the community : how many killers will be left after the release of the boon totems perks ?

Just as many that were left after the ruin change after half the killer mains threatened to quit the game.

  • Maybe post on the forum or official groups on your platform of choice for a players down for some rounds of KYF where you can learn killer mechanics and try all perk combos to see which one fits your playstyle without all the pressure.

  • I don't necessarily equip perks so others have fun. I just play the game as normal and don't bm. I message gg if I die or escape if I'm on PC and move on to the next game if I'm console. Currently on survivor I have been running healing builds on my Claudette, Ninja builds on Yui with Distortion, Iron Will, and Lucky Break and Aftercare just so I can get a heal when I break away. I find that aura reading perks in solo queue are greatly underestimated. I even get a lot of value out of Rookie Spirit on my Leon.

  • Every single patch is 'survivor-sided' because YOU are biased. That's why.

Why rushing gens ? Existencialism questions

What should a survivor do NOT to rush gens? Please enlighten us?

  • I remember similar threats to tunnel/camp everyone from killer mains when the changes (nerf) happened to ruin. The boon totems might not even launch as is, and y'all are already planning to stage a 4th grade revolt. πŸ™„

  • If it was fun cleansing totems NOED would never proc, but okay have your FuN trying to p*ss someone off.

  • Sounds like a waste of time, so you denied a player the use of boon totems for one game. Maybe, because if they change it to boon you can't cleanse it. Also, you're probably killing your team because you're running around looking for 5 totems at the beginning of the game or maybe just wasting your time because no one has a boon totem perk. *slow clap*

  • Tie between Yui and Elodie, but I think Mikaela is going into my rotation as well.

Killers setting up their own totems would help survivors.

Most times I find a hex totem at start of match it's not because I started ontop it, it's because I see the killer go and check on it first thing. If killers were to set up their own hex totems all survivors would have to do is pay attention to where the killer goes at start of match. Killer hanging out away from gens? Probably placing their hex totem over there.

Then there's the predictable hex totem placement by killers - their go to will be the hidden totem spots. If survivors happen to miss the killer setting up the totem they'll have a pretty easy guess where to check.

Aside from survivors having easier time finding/cleansing totems thanks to just paying attention to the killer this would also waste killers time. All you need is 1 survivor to pay attention to what killer is doing, rest can work on gens without worry of being interrupted.

Very good point. As setting your own totem would be common knowledge, survivors would start looking for where the killer is heading at the start of the match. A more sure fire way to find the totem then if it spawned in a very good spot.

  • I think all the characters look like bad photoshop jobs. David looks especially rough, but the hair on ALL the survivors look like it was added to the head and not actually on it-like a bad wig. Nea only escapes that look because of her hat. Also, the clarity is poor and the portraits look grainy and faded.

So did you eventually find ruin? How did the game end?πŸ™‚

Demo got tired of defending a three gen and committed to chasing me. I got downed but I held him long enough for my teammates to complete the last gen. They saved me off hook and we all got out.

  • 45 mins with a demo on dead dog. I was a survivor and the demo wouldn't commit to leaving his three gen to engage in chase. Two of my teammates were incredibly immersed and kept tearing up his portals only to have them replaced . And we couldn't find ruin. I made it my business to learn every totem spawn on that map after that game.

  • I imagine there will be a cooldown on lighting the totem again, much like any means necessary. Being able to instantly relight something the killer has snuffed out will be too powerful since killer has to disregard other objectives to do it. I also wish people would stop saying the game is one-sided. There are changes to both sides in an attempt to bring balance. Not everyone will agree with these changes but that doesn't automatically make the devs have favorites. Honestly this community can never be satisfied.

  • I only really disagree with the call for more male survivors. Even among male players females are more popular so why put out more of what doesn't sell/get used? The fact that the majority of people choose to play the OGs could come down to the fact that they are the first ones you play because they are free and even when people start buying new characters they may still favor the ones they learned the game with. If they focus a lot of attention to making clothes for a rarely played characters like Jeff it really doesn't make good business sense. At the end of the day the dollar is the bottom line.

Now the last few survivors may have been female but 8/10 last killers have all been male, the Twins not counting because of Charlotte and the Demogogarn for whatever that thing is genderwise. And the male killers have been a little more diverse with race as well. There are 14 females and 13 males ( I don't count skins), plenty to choose from. Personally, I wish they would stop releasing killers and survivors for the next three months and just work on bug fixes and buffing dead perks.

Gen rushers, DS abusers, and key users.

How can you abuse DS now?

  • Since working with the killer is bannable, and I assume the other way around, yes killers should take out the troublemaker. Some people play the game to troll and others are bored and think it will be funny to screw over their teammates. I had a Steve go AFK against a Pig with madgrit and agitation a few weeks ago. She kept holding him, putting him down to hook people, and then picking him up to resume chasing us. I've seen streams where people thought this was funny but at the end of the day you're aiding the killer and giving them an unfair advantage. I managed to hold off that killer at a pallet she couldn't break but tried to mindgame while my other two teammates did gens and we got out. Karma also meant the AFK Steve with a trap on his head(who miraculously could move again) died to EGC trying to find hatch. I reported them both. Good on you for getting rid of a headache. If you want to kill opponents either play killer or Apex.

  • Agree with OP. My first game against Nemesis I was convinced that there were more than 2 zombies because they were everywhere. I get pushed off gens, or atleast delayed most games. Having to lead a zombie away from a gen even to get it caught on a rock is time away from doing the gen. That time could result in the killer coming to push you off completely, or worse, using pop when you were almost done. Zombies have blocked vaults, doorways, pallets, loops in games I have played in. I've been hit once or twice while in chase and it resulted in me being downed by the killer because I was then infected or already hurt. They do more than you know, the occasional stuck zombie is to be expected. In a game like DBD you're not going to get perfect AI.

  • Running the killer (no bming) for 2/3 gens getting popped and getting facecamped for it. I suppose I should have timed it and given up at some point.

Escaping after the facecamp and waving at the exit.

Getting atleast 1 person out of the game, even if it's not me.

Sneaking a save with BT past a camping killer.

    Popping NOED or denying it.

Catching the bming survivor who thought they were a gaming God.

Seeing the cute little survivors t-bagging right before I down them.

    Hearing baby Steve get downed.

Watching a Bill forget what game he's playing.

  • Private your profile. Stop reading endgame chat. Delete all messages from people you just faced. Now, you won't have to hear any survivor complaints.

  • They are annoying on the survivor side too, especially on the Game and Badam. I think Badam school needed some way to slow down the loop potential but I'm not sure BW was it.

  • Can you guys start typing this under one of the other 300 threads with the same topic. I'm assuming after DH is out of the way SB will be next.

  • I enjoy going against Oni, Pig, Billy, Bubba, Hag, Myers, Demo, Clown, Nemesis,Ghostface and Plague.

All perks are fair game, its when they pair them to stack slowdowns that the game is so boring so pairing Thana, sloppy, undying, ruin, tinkerer, and all of a sudden I'm seeing Coulrophobia to keep people injured and slow down gens on already strong killers. Tinkerer on high mobility killers only get boring when they refuse to commit to a chase and break off every time a notification goes off (Blight and Billy) are good for that.

I would enjoy Doctor more except that impossible skillcheck builds are apparently a trend now, and I hate the annoying sounds of madness in my headset. Also, Doc makes my game lag the most, especially on certain maps.

  • Small loops, tight turns. Against a mediocre or bad Twins player spins may work. With one who knows what they are doing they will just wait patiently for you to line up right-much like a Huntress holding her hatchet. You're going to get hit.

Run through pallets and don't throw them. Likely the Twins player will either respect or back up and prepare to pounce and you can gain a little distance. Like someone else said, if you know where Charlotte is, run as far from her as you can and jump in a locker. She has to get to you fast before Victor is forced off the locker. It's a gamble, but better than getting downed by Victor when injured.

WGLF, Botany, Desperate Measures are good tools to get teammates off the ground and stay healthy against Victor's pounce. Really you need to play as a team to defeat the Twins. Every man on the ground is a potential pitched tent for Victor to sit beside.

  • I haven't heard from a dev yet on this situation, but it is unlikely going to get players banned to report that they were holding the game hostage by hiding. Despite how time-consuming it is, the killer still has the burden to find the survivor.

Hiding and not doing gens is not an outdated mechanic, its just human behavior that the devs can't influence. If you have two solos hiding, one may believe the other will do a gen and or get caught and they just have to outlast them. Happens all the time- the difference is that 'usually' the other person gets caught in which the payout is no gens were done by the hider. In the instance where you can't find any survivors its because they both have the same boring mindset.

Also, a certain streamer played Hide N Seek with a SWF a few weeks ago. That's literally all they did for the entire game was hide. Last man standing style. It's likely at least one killer reported them. No action was taken.

  • @HollowsGrief said:

If you find tunneling to be a problem then bring DS, it stops tunneling at least once during a match. Now if you are upset that you get rehooked 30s after being unhooked because you were fool enough to get on a gen then you aren't being tunneled you are just making a bad play and being punished for it.

TBF DS does not stop tunneling in most cases. It delays it by five seconds.

  • As much as I dislike Deathslinger, I think the Twins are more unhealthy and THAT is sayings something because I despise Mr. Hookreel. I think the devs completely went tone deaf with these two. Neat idea, but they epitomize everything survivors have been complaining about for the last five years. Camping and slugging? Yes, let's make a killer that's more efficient at doing both. πŸ˜’πŸ˜’πŸ˜’

  • -Bullying by killers or survivors either in game or chat after

    -Bragging ^

-Survivors that wait for hatch or hide instead of a doing a gen when I'm running the killer and they are the only ones left to do gens (especially if there is one gen left)

-Being bled out on the ground for no reason other than entertainment (epecially when they stand over you power-spamming)

    -Basementsitting killers

-Being dropped 'near' the hatch so a killer can pretend to give it to me. I'm not crawling for it.

-Deathslinger-his music, his chuckle, his TR, his reel-in mechanic

-Not having enough BP offerings in my bloodwebs and instead having it cluttered with a bunch of useless add ons and offerings

I think it's just people abusing the absence of DC penalty over whatever reason they can find and not necessarily related to Lightborn in this instance.

I had a Jill DC right next to me because right after we finished a generator I decided to do a totem nearby (I always do them for points and in case of NOED) and she just stared at me and DC on the spot. I also had a Meg DC after I downed her when she failed to do a fake vault in Killer Shack.

Agree. I played Plague on Monday for only the second time ever. A Feng Dc'd on me as soon as I hit her with the vomit, barely in chase, and the game was about 30 seconds old. Now, she could have had a phobia of vomit but more likely she didn't want to play against Plague. I also had a DC on the same day with a Nea and Leon on their first hook. Guess they were showing me who is boss by denying me hook points.

That's me on the survivor side. I try to watch how to loop videos. I try to watch people like tofu, Ayrun, Nigel, true, etc. I try to do the things they do in the same situations. But I always feel like I'm running in mud and like the killer catches up to me way to fast. And like I can't do the things I know should work.

I'm not a master looper, but I'm much better than I used to be. One thing you have to account for while looping-something they don't teach you in tutorials, and something you can't 'see' as a survivor is bloodlust. A killer gains speed every 15 seconds while in chase, up to tier 3 bloodlust. So if you drop a pallet and he doesn't break it, by the time you do one loop chances are he's building bloodlust. Losing line of sight and gaining distance will stop it. It will also stop if the killer breaks a pallet which is why the refuse to do it. But its why it feels like the killer is way faster than you anticipated, and why the gap is closing so fast. It's because it is. Only experience in chases will eventually teach you how to deal with it. No amount of video watching helped me determine how many times I could loop before I had to drop the pallet. Experienced survivors still get it wrong, and so do I. Hands on experience is the only way.

  • Unfortunate. I wonder what makes it crash on some Xboxes and not others. I've been playing on both PC and Xbox. 8hrs straight on Saturday on Xbox One S and no crashes during this entire event. I agree they should extend the event past the hotfixes they plan to issue. Also, all players should be awarded BP or shards in a reasonable amount for what they missed out on. I've heard that some PC players are having issues too. Lag is actually worse on my PC atm.

  • @Alionis said:

No. The gates are open, gtfo and stop wasting both of our time. I hate survivors not leaving, regardless of whether they want to give me a worthless pity kill or just continue to gloat.

Dayum. You sound angry, did you just come out of a game before you typed that?

  • Just this weekend I gave an obviously new Nemesis a free kill. He was struggling so hard in the beginning that he decided to just let us be. However, he refused to take the hook (shook his head) so I just stood there until about 10 seconds until EGC when he realized I wouldn't make it to a gate he hooked me. That is my usual experience with killers.

As a killer, I won't hook someone I haven't caught fairly, but I'm not going to spend the last minute or so pushing you out the door either. Want to die by EGC? Be my guest.

  • What is already being said. The only thing that saves some survivors is that Trapper has to go get more traps. If he had them all, and the first down goes to basement. GG. If he had them all he could lock down a side of the map instantly and 3 gen strat would explode. When that happens, DC penalities or not, surivivors are not going to want to play against 3 gen strat trapper for half an hour.

If he had them all, he could shut down every loop/or pallet in his first chase. Unlike Hag, you can crouch over her traps without setting them off or you can destroy them with a flashlight. She also has to be within range to teleport and not busy enough to pay attention during the few seconds she has the green light to teleport.

The difference with trapper is that his traps both hold you immobile until he gets there and with add ons can put you into the dying state just for escaping. That's a BIG difference. Most people who get trapped are an assured down. If hag teleports and hits you, she still has to funnel you into another trap or catch up to you in chase. No other killer has such potential of having you downed on your belly without the killer even being present.

I agree with Ghouled Mojo that the brown add on with the extra trap being basekit would be a good addition. That seems reasonable.

  • @Laurie268 said:

I always try to save mine for the endgame, if you're hooked nearby an exit you’re going to escape 100% ( unless you miss it like I always do)

I lol'd at this. I can just imagine the disappointment as you're put on death hook.

  • Right now, it's Leons and he's my boy. I don't know if most Leons are just new or every muppet player just chose him for the looks, but Leons are probably among the most useless players I see right now behind blendies. Most of the time they don't do gens, get caught in two seconds, and are scared of a TR. Leons save and runs off into the sunset with the killer barreling down on you. If there is more than one Leon in a lobby I might skip it. Also, Feng must be most hated by killer, specifically Bunny-Feng, as every time I wear the cosmetic I get tunneled.

Right now I hate to see Deathslinger or Huntress in my games. Slinger for obvious monitor and abuse reasons, but Huntress because I experience the most lag with her for some reason. I routinely get hit by the refrigerators she throws, and thanks to Twitch 101, Huntresses will hold their hatchets until Kingdom come, all while advancing on you. Also, I hate dodging projectiles.

  • Overperforming does not mean its used a lot, in which case many killer perks and add ons need to be nerfed. Overperforming means that when it is used it drastically increases the survival rate for survivor and the kill rate for killer. E.G. second version Fredster was overperforming because of his kit. Ghostface and Huntress are popular killers but they are not oppressive or racking up significantly higher numbers than any other killers, therefore no nerf.

  • As a Yui main I was hoping they'd give her a behind, even just a small one. Alas, nope. However, her current model looked good to me and that hasn't changed with the update.

Yes, someone pointed that out for me. Still, the killer has to chase, down, carry and hook the survivor in order for it to work and also has to have the other survivors injured.

What do survivors have to do to earn Dead Hard?

Disagree with a perk being valued by what you have to do to earn it. Fire up, Bitter Murmur, Tinkerer, Rancor, Lethal Pursuer, Corrupt Intervention are all perks that value the killer with zero input or effort from the player aside from adding it to their build. Survivors have a ton of these perks also, but only DH is being talked about. On these forums the community is just steadily going after every useful perk on either side. It's ridiculous. This perk makes it harder for me to win? Nerf it.

  • Very underrated perk. I literally just started using it after playing Jeff to get his crown and aftercare really has saved me as a solo player. Teammates I interact with can see me to team up on gens, I can see if they get pushed off theirs and get right on it. I can see them in chase if I need or want to take aggro, especially end game. I've located the exit gate while in chase because one of my teammates were on the door. I can see teammates for a heal and they can see me. It does not have the limitations in distance like Bond and does not require injury like Empathy. Major plus side is that it has an aura reveal that works both ways instead of just one.

You do lose it when you get hooked, but the person that comes to unhook you starts it usefulness again so its virtually in play all game. It's going to remain in many of my builds.
