  • I would like to know how often this occurs. We as humans tend to dwell on small negatives that occurs rarely rather than big positives that occurs often. It is unlikely Unbreakable turns the tide in many games. If it were overpowered and unfairly impacted gameplay like MoM it would be changed. And I don't get why there is such a hostility toward so called second chance perks. Survivors can be removed from the game while killers are guaranteed to make it to the end while other perks would come out 23 survivors later but perks that help facilitate surviving?

  • Most swfs are average or bad at the game not seal team six.

Chronic DCers should have a reputation floating over their head like the in jail pictures on the forums.

    Gideon's is a fun map.

Breakable walls was a terrible idea. Just create a door or shut one down.

Billy 's new yell sounds ridiculous.

Not all killers need a buff to improve their viability or a nerf to make them ' more balanced '. Variety is the spice of life.

Some add ons should be removed from the game not new ones added to take up more bp we barely earn.

Bullying is more of a problem in this game than swf.

  • You still get messages from xbox players because PC, PS4, and Switch players can't message you. PC players usually talk smack in endgame chat which you can't even see. Xbox does tend to have more children and teens, who think it is cool to run off at the mouth and are very bad at losing but there are toxic players on all platforms.

  • I hate to tell you this but you probably go against more swf on console than computer. I've been watching and playing the game for nearly 3 years now. There are solo players at high rank that regularly play 'coordinated' with other solo players because they have the experience and don't care about dying so they take protection hits, distract, swarm the hook for a save, flashlight save, loop with OoO and heal each other up in a split second all without saying a word. The only sure way to know you're facing a SWF is to ask them or have played them before. Players with 1,000s of hours in the game are going to run into each other and many are friends although you can gamble that they are SWF if they are on each other's list and definitely if you queue up with them more than once. The problem as I see it with this game is that 4 highly experienced survivors will give 1 highly experienced killer a run for their money nearly every time. I play on console and PC and I do agree that PC players at higher ranks both killers and survivors tend to have played this game much longer and thus are more experienced on the whole. You may want to turn off crossplay and sink some more hours into the game.

  • Meh it would be the same if survivors got strong perks and killers got weak perks. I say on both sides keep complaining about the game, it seems they get all their ideas from community common complaints. Dragon's Grip seems their answer to survivors tapping a gen mid-chase to strop regression. Hex Undying obviously the answer to losing hex totems within minutes of entering the game. All their ideas come from the community. While I think they obviously ran out of ideas for survivor perks on this patch with Visionary being a bandaid fix to problems finding gens on maps like Midwich and Lerys it is pretty much a better Deja Vu. I'm more upset by their insistence in creating choke points by adding breakable walls every damn where on maps.

  • The killer skins look amazing. There is a lot of detail and intricacies in the costume. I think the Clown and the Oni are tied for best looking. The killers must have been done first because someone ran out of creative juice when they did the survivors. Aside from Feng everyone else looks underwelming. Yui's top looks like the same crop top she always had just a different shade, minus shredding, and two wings on the front. I'm wondering when they will ever get someone who can do make up because they are always sorely lacking. I like Jane's outfit but her shoes don't fit it and her hair is...yeah, if the cos is not locked I'm swapping it out but it probably is. Adam's outfit has a nice pattern but it looks like the red blazer he already has minus the hood. I don't like the David look at all. I'm thinking they are trying to keep with the character or style of each survivor but I wish they just would have pushed the Goddess and God aspect more like they did when they created the killer skins.

  • Botany. I like running healing builds sometimes and it comes in clutch in getting my teammates off the ground or completely healed and us back in the game.

  • Soulguard is fine, the limitations and criteria for using it are rare enough to not make it overpowered. You literally have to have several things align for it to be useful. And since those things rarely align most people run it with unbreakable anyway. So running two perks just to get it to work once means less meta perks in the game. To get this 'unlimited' use of soulguard you'd need the killer to slug you, during a hex, more than once. Knowing it is in the game, and if you have a hex totem active why would you not hook the person if you saw them get up? Unbreakable is one time use because there are no criteria other than being slugged to get yourself up. It not only lets you get yourself up once but lets you recover faster even after the full recovery is used, so it has 2 uses as well. Deliverance only makes sense to have one use, on your first hook. Why would you be able to unhook yourself during struggle? Adrenaline was designed as an endgame perk and since all gens are repaired only once in the game, it can only have one use.

All that being said, I really don't understand the argument against a perk that has caused you 0 problems.

  • I don't like legion because s/he is annoying but I rather face them than ghostface or deathslinger. I don't message the killer to complain though. I imagine a lot of people have at least one killer they dislike going against.

I think these linked skins are more of a technical necessity than a marketing choice. This skin looks great but if you look at where the hood attaches and how high the waist is on the pants you can see that it crosses the usual lines where cosmetics switch. I'm guessing that the character model artists are running through their wishlist of "this would look great but can't be done as separate pieces" right now and we will start seeing normal skin pieces after or along with the 4.1 release

Agreed. I think we are going to see more sets like this, but I also don't believe that all sets will be linked in the future. I bought the set because it looks awesome and there is really nothing about it I would switch out for something else.

  • Springwood, Gideon's Meatplant, and Grave of Glenvale maps as survivor.

As killer I like Autohaven and Backwater Swamp maps.

  • Caging still does what it intended, allow you to keep momentum by not having to pick up and find a hook. Without needing to hook you can deny DS, We'll Make It, Breakdown, Kindred, flashlight saves, hook sabos, pallet stuns, etc. What you can no longer do is make your way over to the cage and prevent an unhook so easily, then immediately kill the person because they have no chance against you. I fail to see how taking away an abused mechanic makes it useless. I think what the OP meant to say was that tunneling out of cages is now harder to do. In that case, it's a rip.

  • Not just boring for survivor but you are talking about tilting the killer advantage all the way. 2 mins per gen on top of thrilling tremors, pop, ruin, thana, dying light, and killer add ons. Oof.

  • Doesn't have to be fair, but it is guranteed not to change the attitude of the tbagger. Facecamping is the silent way to say I'm upset with you or the way the games have been going in general. That let's them know they got what they came for- into your head.

  • @Orion thank you for this post. I wish I had seen it sooner instead of learning bits and pieces as I went along. I think the event should have been clarified for everyone in the beginning, unless it was and I missed the detailed instructions. Also, you're incredibly patient with the posters here who keep asking the same thing you just explained in the OP. Kudos.

It's pretty easy to tell when someone has it. Almost everyone runs it in the higher ranks, you can also tell when someone has it if they're your obsession and you don't have any obsession perks, it's more of a gut feeling or a guess and most if the time I'm right.

If you say so, but the obsession is random now. The person with DS might not be the obsession at all. I don't run DS but I am often the obsession and now with perks like Blood Pact there can be an obsession in the game with no DS at all.

  • I don't like playing against Freddys, but that's just because I dislike his puddle-spamming everywhere and you can even double back on it because it doesn't disappear right away. Also, the Freddys I tend to go against have the same slow down builds and he along with doctor seem to connect more impossible hits than any other killer. That being said, play who and how you want to. Everyone has something in the game they dislike, but it's in the game and it's a free country(I'm assuming where you live). Messaging after game is just to vent their frustration against a killer they dislike or a playstyle they found tedious to go against. Ignore the haters and carry on.

  • A despite a plethora of "killer meltdown" posts, they seem to focus "mostly", on fixing things that are frustrating for survivors, all the while, neglecting the other side of the community. Looking at the doc, ruin, nurse (this one in particular) legion.

Uh okay, did you miss changes to toolboxes (now basically useless which I'm fine with), Insta-heals nerfs, breakable walls, safe pallets decreasing, all the new maps with better totem spawns like new Lery's, Midwich, Dead Dawg, and Badham. Nerf to BL. Smaller map sizes, removed strong loop tiles with windows, nerfed gen speeds for multiple survivors on a gen. All these mechanics and items were widely complained about by a killer majority and have been adjusted or nerfed to be more fair. So I wouldn't say that the focus is 'mostly' on survivors. Doctor was just changed so I don't see why he even made the list. Sure, they used the excuse to make him more fun to play against him but he is now much easier to play, and more effective in securing kills. And in NO way more fun to versus.

Devs are working hard to balance things for BOTH sides. Sure there is a long way to go. Both sides suffer heavy from lag/dedicated server punishment. There are bugs in the game for killers like Billy, but there is also movement bugs for survivors during unhooks and after taking a hit. There seem to be a bigger presence of killer mains on the forums anyhow, or at least players that split both equally, as before they combined the discussion boards the killer side was always ahead on the amount of posts and not just complaints. It also made sense to have more posts as each individual killer requires a different set of skills and knowledge in his/her use, basekit, and add ons. Survivors, as has been said often here, are just skins at the end of the day.

IMO the biggest problem with DBD is human behavior (no pun intended). The camping, tunneling, tbagging, beating on hook, slugging until bleedout, flashlight clicking, bming noise-spamming with pallets, vaults and lockers, and end-game chat messages being sent to players have nothing to do with playing the game as intended. It is individual choice and expression no matter how petty and immature it may be. This is the only thing that behavior cannot control. It will never be fixed and to play this game you have to come to terms with that.

And for people who say survivor is much easier, well yes it is. If the opposite were true what difference would it make? Would killer mains play survivor? Probably not. You either want the challenge of juggling more objectives and outsmarting 4 different minds and sets of skills or you don't.

  • Prettiest is Jane. Quentin wins the award for needing a face lift.

  • @GoblinBoi said:

I honestly love the way things are now, I hate survivors who use ds and dead hard, honestly all those perks do is buy you a little more time cause I tunnel people who use ds on me or plan on using it.

How do you tunnel someone that plans to use DS if they haven't used it? How would you know, and in order to find out you'd have to tunnel? Sounds like you tunnel regardless. No need for anyone to agonize over perks.

  • I couldn't find a crown on Haddonfield the entire game and I ran into every house. Then as I went to open the exit gate one was right across from it. They do spawn in Haddonfield. Midwich elementary was just as much of a nightmare though. It is ridiculous how hard they are to find in some maps.

  • LMAO. Yes, OG killers seem rather boring and outdated in comparison but they also at least made his traps unbreakasble.

  • Because someone was going to be disappointed no matter who they picked, so why not just go with what they wanted to do. I don't recall Behaviour asking for opinions on who should be the next killer from the community and we have no idea if they approached other creators or producers for rights to use their creations in game. We have no idea what the creators of Pennywise, F13, Candyman, Hellraiser, or any half dozen horror movies/ games said about entering a contract with DBD. Has it ever occurred to anyone that not every creator wants their horror movie icon in a videogame or that the price they ask to enter this contract may be out of budget for Behavior. They may be still hashing out the details on contracts with more well known creators and it takes time to satisfy a client with build, design, music, and map. We simply have no clue of what it takes to bring these licensed characters to this game. It is Pyramid Head right now but 3 months from now there will be a new killer. We will have to wait and see.

  • I expect all Leatherfaces, Wraiths, Pigs, and Trappers to have Noed. I am surprised when Billys, Myers, and Nurses have it.

Since the change to Doc I expect all docs to be running either Iridescent king/queen and I am pleasantly surprised when that is not the case. I also expect power spamming. In this way I find him very obnoxious.

As many have said I expect Leatherface to camp, proxy or otherwise and to be the most likely to have Franklins.

    Spirit means tunnelcity.

A lot of Huntresses and Legions seem easy to trigger even without bming as if they take your evasion personal.

Ghostfaces seem more likely to joke around with you.

    Trappers the most benevolent.

Clowns for me have been the most toxic.

Blendies are nearly almost guaranteed to let you rot on hook while never getting chased.

Prestige 3 on almost any character usually means a hider and not a runner. Bright clothes are your runners. I even switch to Nea when I mean business after a series of bad games.

I have a prejudice against Jakes I am working on. Been burned by them too many times and can be overly critical of their motives.

Neas on Xbox to urban evade everywhere. Neas on PC to be an anklebreaker.

Good chance Megs are walking half the match to save SB.

Not really a killer bias but if the offering is Cut Coin or Hawkins I brace for a rough match. Cut Coin for toxic and Hawkins for crapshow.

Survivor Perks I regard as "second chance" would be Sprint Burst, Dead Hard, Adrenaline, Decisive Strike, and Unbreakable. To a certain extent, I also include Head On in this list, but I actually enjoy using that Perk, so I can't help but throw it on every once in a while.

As for the Bill/Nancy thing, it's simply because I've never seen a smart Bill or Nancy, either as Survivor or Killer. Bills are the kind of person to last for less than twenty seconds in a chase and still somehow manage to burn a third of the pallets on the map, and Nancies are too greedy with their pallets and REALLY love to overuse Fixated thinking they're the most immersed gamers alive.

How did Sprint Burst make the list and not Lithe or Balanced Landing?

  • I have my personal code of conduct that I don't expect others to follow but I couldn't play the game without.

-I try not to leave a man behind unless it is impossible to find NOED or a Billy, Bubba, and now a spamming Doc is face-camping. I run a totem finding build most of the time so it isn't a problem.

-I don't teabag or taunt killers. I think it is childish and unnecessary. I have however, tbagged at the gate twice in this game (nearly a year ago), but that is after a killer was being very toxic, I usually just let toxic behavior go.

-I'm opening the gate. Other people 99ing the gate and leaving it, has gotten be killed more than bloodwarden.

-Doing a gen. I prioritize gens over healing unless there are 3 of us and it could be done quickly or I have a healing build. Also, if I know you are on death hook.

-I deliberately get the attention of the killer if my teammates are on death hook and I am not.

-I don't run the killer toward hooked survivors and if the killer spots me when going for a save, unless you are close to struggle state, I won't try and save you. BT is not part of my normal build.

-If I get taken to the basement once the gates are open against a camping killer, I'm giving up on hook. Better to take the L than the whole team down with me.

-Never insta-save, except against a Demo who left a b*tthole. Instantly saving someone can get them killed. 1.) Killer has not had time to leave properly unless it is Billy, Demo, Freddy or Spirit. 2.) You could have gotten 15 more seconds or so out of a gen before running across the map. Even if I'm close, I'll wait a bit until killer has put distance between the hook. Unfortunately, with solo queue teammates, even at red ranks, they dive bomb the hook.

  • I have to believe that devs actually tested out their maps after the changes... Right?

  • What is genrushing to you? Are people still using toolboxes with bnp, prove thyself , and now stake out? Or are people still doing gens without doing totems? Are people still jumping 3 man on gens or doing them seperately?

  • If they are rank 17 and 18 and the hours back that up cut them slack. If two are low rank and only one is experienced they may have their hands full just trying to keep their buddies alive and unfortunately that doesn't always translate to telling those low rankers crouching in a corner to save. You should help them because doing the right thing influences others just like their behavior is influencing you to be less altruistic. If they are new they will definitely pick up on what a teammate is supposed to do by having it done to them.

Also, you'll run into that player that will come back for you in the basement with the gate open but not if you left him slugged on the ground for an absurd amount of time to do a gen. I can't tell you how many times I went for a risky save on a player that stuck out their neck for me. Do good, it will come back to you.

  • @elvangulley said:

Wow survivors are more entitled and selfish than i thought. the most important thing your teammates can do is gens rescues come when its safe or when gens are under control. You saying screw it and bailing hurts your team now their down a man giving the killer pressure

You can literally see everything your teammates are doing while on the hook, which means they obviously are not doing gens or in chase. They are crouched or healing across the map. I have seen survivors open chests and dig in instead of making a save. If you have kindred it's a double whammy. If teammates are actually doing gens or being stopped by the killer then yeah you hang in there.

  • I'll take a teabag over a flashlight blind when pallet-breaking any day.

What Killer are you? There's a big difference between playing Nurse or Billy than Myers or Legion perkless. And Red Ranks are an ENTIRELY different ballgame than purple ranks

Eh most purple rank killers are getting mostly red rank survivors, heck so are many green rank killers.

With a bit of tweaking it could be a great map!

Why do you hate Hawkins? I personally have a hate/love relationship with it. Why do you dislike it?

Hawkins is the smallest map and the worst map for survival for a reason. It has the same terror radius problem as the game but not on separate floors- when someone is in chase with the killer it sounds like the killer is right on top of you. There are blind corners everywhere, hard to find gens, almost all pallets are unsafe , and for every door you run through you can be cut off from another angle. It has more dead ends than any other map. Bloodlust is my biggest issue with this map, killers don't really have to break anything except for one or two pallets in the middle. Even the gates are really unsafe. Atleast on the game there is a pallet and high dumpsters right near the door you can loop. On Hawkins if you're injured and the killer comes to that door, it is game over.

I have to say don't ever, EVER play killer, on pc, with a controller. You will lose. It's just the nature of dedicated server movement, even the enhanced sensitivity in the upcoming patch will not be enough to track those stimulant-addicted survivor models. I also love controller, I have also tried pc controller a lot, and I have curled into a ball and wept as my basic attacks somehow get 360'd. Not lunges. Basic attacks.

lol yes, I know I only play killer on Xbox because m&kb have superior range of motion on PC. I do play controller on PC as a survivor and I do all right. I will say that there are a handful of killers that do quite well with controller on PC. Might I recommend you check out Brother_Cope shortened to just Cope now on Twitch. He plays with a PS4 controller. He can play with m&kb but I think he is most comfortable with the controller. Red rank survivor and killer, plays 50/50.

  • Don't worry you won't get banned. The team was clearly a swf and you were the odd one out. They need proof that you were working with the killer. One instance of unhooking a teammate in front of him is not proof, even if they had it on video. If you are new to this game, you may run into instances of angry teammates threatening to have you banned, especially if you play killer. Just read up on what is bannable and not, and know that if you play by the rules it is just sweat off your back.

  • I used to hate the game as a survivor, but once I got used to it, it is not that bad. It is also a nightmare for killer when it comes to hooking. I can get the most saves for my teammates on this map with saboing if I scrounge up a toolbox. Most people hate this map, but I think Hawkins is much worse.

The terror radius doesn't bother me except with Doc. Because of it he can shock you from either floor. It is a nightmare facing him on that map.

Welcome to the land of diversity where only Oni, Freddy, Billy, Spirit, Nurse, and Doctor stand a fair chance to win against good survivors.

Yes, now I understand why they are used so much. I mean I'm never going to like Freddy but he can give maps like Red Forest the proper pressure. Perhaps with the new map changes we will see more diversity in killers being viable. At least it's a start.

I've been seeing UE used more recently... Rank 7 killer on Xbox (even though rank doesn't matter much)

I see UE paired with Spine chill in many of my high rank survivor games, not to mention blendettes that don't move when they hear the terror radius. Survivors do rank up too fast now so this could be part of the problem. And as I said, I've faced rank 15 and 14s that clearly belong in purple and red ranks, so yeah rank doesn't matter much.

  • I counted the add ons survivors have to sift through at 55 per survivor. Killer has 20 different add ons to consider per killer. If we have to lose add ons each game, at least allow a category to be checked off for add ons we don't want to see in our next blood web. I don't use flashlights at all so I can care less about any flashlight add ons and would like a way to remove them from my web. But that's probably asking too much.

  • @Alphaphalt said:

Well yes rank 20 is obviously full of immersion.

Not even a rule thing. Its something that all players should expect.

Rule definition: one of a set of explicit or 'understood regulations' or principles governing conduct within a particular activity or sphere. Bring a key, get tunneled and moried. Sounds like a rule to me.

The way I read it definitely says it's being increased to 2% from 1% to "compensate" the 15% slow. Which as I said and you ignored, woll encourage MORE gen rushing, which is what their stab in the dark is trying to fix.

I also never said I had ANY issues with the loops or wi dows being changed, I actually said they were decent changes.

So go over what I ACTUALLY said, and respond to just that. I play both sides, more survivor, and I think the gen changes are going to cause more issues than they fix. They're promoting the problem they want to fix, with their "fixes".

You misread it then. The current way it work is that 2% progression is given for great skillchecks. It has been halved to 1%. Bp for great skillchecks have been increased from 150 to 300 bp to make it worth it to go for greats. Only with Stake Out do great skillchecks result in a 2% progression.

  • Spine chill also lights up when the killer is in chase with someone else and not coming for you at all, just because they looked in your direction for a few seconds. You have to decide whether you'll get off the gen for potentially no reason.

  • I use it to tell people the killer is over here with me, but of course as many have said, it has lost its meaning because people are bored on hook for 12 seconds. Take it to mean proceed with caution.

  • I don't think it would make a difference for experienced survivors who can hit the tiny skillcheck zone, but then this would negate the killer from having to kick all the gens. Paired with the new Hex: ruin this would be insanely horrible for new players. I could see this now on Docs, who all run Iridescent King, backward, tiny, skill checks that can appear anywhere on your screen applied to 3 gens at a time. Yeah, no thanks.

  • Killer rulebook 204? Oh, I forgot, there is only a survivor rulebook.

  • Players are toxic. A toxic survivor goes on to be a toxic killer and vice versa. The community is already split in half, why rehash an old topic of discussion in a community where you already know the answer?

  • "Or can I just wait before the survivor is dead on hook without feeling bad for using the mori on him?"

Play as you wish, the only one that has control on how you 'feel' is you.

  • Killer-

Rancor- I am beyond tired of obsession perks but this perk, similiar to NOED, rewards players for failing to do their objective, by offering a consolation prize. Not to mention the free info it offers everytime a gen pops. No effort necessary.

    Survivor

Object of Obsession-promotes trolls, is highly obnoxious and outdated. I wouldn't mind seeing it deleted from the game.

1 … 6 7 8 9 10 … 17
