  • Is this really any surprise that the most attractive female is Kate-blonde, big boobs, trim waist. Clearly a devs ideal of attractive females. Besides her bum being oddly shaped I think Jane is the most attractive female. For guys I'd say David.

  • I think even the best survivors will die frequently in the game, such is the nature of playing solo. SWF definitely increases your chances of making it out. I can't take you seriously when you say Noob3 is mediocre. I'm not even a fan of his, but the guy is really good at the game. I watch Angrypug and he is really good too, but he's bold and is often punished for it. I recommend Jendenise (plays a lot more swfs now, but she makes some really smart gameplays even during solo), Al Boyo, Geistra, Brother_Cope, Boxghostz and Fungoose (will explain his strat while playing on both killer and survivor).

  • Some info about dreamworld: If you see a player with their head at a nodding angle they are asleep or going to sleep and Freddy is most likely near them. The 4 icons that tell you player status will have a cloud/fog around it when someone is asleep. If your entire team is asleep this is very bad. If you find someone who is not sleep they can snap their fingers and clap and wake you up. You can also do this for an asleep player when you are awake.

You are visible to Freddy at all times at a certain distance in the dream world. The closer you are to him, he has to find you like any other killer. When you put distance between you and him your aura turns red. If he slugs you while you are sleep he will always be able to find you.

A good counter to him besides learning to loop him is not staying asleep.

You can wake up 4 ways:

1.) fail a skillcheck while healing or have someone do it to you

2.) blow up a gen (fail a skillcheck)

3.)have someone who is NOT in dreamworld wake you up

4.) adrenaline will wake you up once you power the last generator

When you are being put to sleep try and put something between you and Freddy e.g. jump through a window, vault anything or circle a pallet. You can catch glimpses of Freddy while he is putting you to sleep unless he is using the pill bottle add on. If he knows what he is doing he is dogging your heels waiting for you to fall asleep so that he can get in a hit right away.

If you are injured try and heal if it is safe to do so and FAIL the skillcheck to wake up then resume healing. If you are not injured hop on a gen when you can and fail the first skillcheck that comes up then rotate to another gen in case he comes to check that gen.

  • whoops, i spoke about the wrong perk

As for NOLB, This was taken directly from PTB notes.

    • Late Heal: Heal another Survivor during EGC (750).
    • Late Rescue: rescue another Survivor during EGC (2000).
    • Release: Open an exit gate after the EGC has started (1500).

Paired with the bloodpoints stacks and the speed increase ( I don't see that in the patch notes btw) it would now be a much better perk to use than before, being that after ECG points for actions are much higher. I see perks such as Hope and Wake Up being very good end game perks as well. I don't see them getting changed tho, but of course I don't know that for sure.

  • @Kaelum it doesn't say it but it is heavily implied, or rather shown. When the trapper closes the hatch it pans to the exit gates that were just powered.

  • I had a game like that, except no one disconnected. It was against a leatherface and I managed to run him for a bit at the start of the game. It was enough time for atleast 2 gens to pop with three people.Nothing popped during my run, and when I got hooked I couldn't see anyone because all three of them were in the lockers. Once I got unhooked, after going into second stage, I managed to do the 1st and 2nd (only gens) done. The killer could literally only find me. He ended up killing everyone and letting me go. I did 4 of 5 gens.

    @Jacoby2041

I agree. I play mostly survivor, and I like the change. There are still killers complaining that it wasn't nerfed enough. Can't satisfy everyone. Devs shouldn't even try.

  • I know she's new but Jane. She bumped my Claudette/Nea rotation to the curb.

I made the same proposal about Sc 100 times in this forum, it might get old by now for most fourm reader, but I will try to look it up and copy paste it here when I found it.

And if you suck at mathematic, just tell me and I can help you out do the calculations.

SC = 32 sec one survivor busy, getting healed = 16 sec two survivor busy

SC is to fast. Period. (Science rocks!^^)

    @feechima

Before you help someone with math, make sure you work on your English. What was it before 24 seconds? I still fail to see how this is not a nerf.

  • @Wolf74

    Still no proposal...

But in answer to your response, does SC not take longer to accomplish then it did before? Many survivors, including myself, don't use it any longer. I prefer to use Iron Will and get healed by a teammate. The only way to satisfy people that still see it as a problem is remove it from the game. Never gonna happen.

I've heard a lot of killer mains say they are happy with the nerf. It was a nerf. You could have a game where you're not guaranteed to even use it as long as the killer doesn't tunnel you off the hook. Even then, with enduring, it still won't make much of a difference.

  • @ColgateAdvancedWhite said:

This forum is just the same few killers over and over

Yes, I've counted the same three in most survivor threads with the bait posts. So childish.

  • I like the changes to DS. I feel that is it more fair now and I'm going to be using it in my rotation. Killers may start to slug you even if you don't have it, which gives you more chances of being picked up. Also encourages going after someone other than the person whose feet just touched the ground.

Surivor Perks I think need re-working:

    -Self Care (!!!)

    -Decisive Strike

    -Object Of Obsession

    Thoughts?

2 out of 3 of these have been worked on already. What do you propose?

  • Jane is a great addition to the survivor squad. I would like her to have some butt adjustments but it looks just fine in her jeans. She has some of the best cos in my opinion.

Survivors complain about every single killer= nerfs or reworked.

No one likes legion. Plain and simple.

Both sides complain. I was just addressing the comment that this OP apparently missed the last 3-4 killer releases and perks and all the balance patches that have come out. "Making all the changes but doing nothing to help the killer side". Yeah, okay.

  • Jeff, Adam, Laurie, and Ace

  • But you know the devs don't do anything to help killers...except

Killers complain about bodyblocking= mad grit

killers complain about looping= bamboozle, Legion, nerf windows, reduce pallets

killers complain about gen rush= corrupt intervention

killers complain about pallets= spirit fury

@JoannaVO No #########, that is the report category referenced in my title. I'm saying those report categories are contradictory with in-game design that encourages you to do exactly that. It's not griefing, it's surviving. These report categories would be better off gone. The other categories are plenty sufficient to prevent toxicity, this is the only one that is based entirely on the offender's choice of playstyle.

Edit- Not to mention: You are wrong that you need altruism to pip. I never get it and I get to rank 1 every month.

@feechima Lucky you for running into some skilled servants of The Entity, you should consider yourself blessed. Try anticipating the situation next time, or apply your own consequences to your aggressors. (as you say, payback is a b*tch.) Unfortunately for you, the line between the types of sandbagging you say are acceptable and the actions taken by these two individuals are not distinguishable. Playing immersed and selfish leads to the type of gameplay you experienced, and that is ok. The fact that you think there is a special imaginary threshold that makes it ok to report these survivors for doing some things but not others, is exactly my point. Try reading some lore, watch some early dev streams, and put yourself in the mindset of The Entity. Making things miserable is priority #1. The fun comes in subverting it, and like everything else in the game that makes you upset, you will overcome and keep playing, I know you will. Maybe you will even dabble in the dark arts some yourself, for the sake of survival. As you should. But if your goal is to "Get the people who use this playstyle banned", you are the one to cast the first stone. You are now the one targeting people out-of-game for something they did within the bounds of the game. May I offer the age-old advice of Mcote: "Git Gud"

Their intention was not to survive at all but to make surviving difficult for other players. Immersion is fine. Whatever. Griefing is not okay. There is a HUGE difference. And it is very much distinguishable. When you go out of your way to find someone, to rat them out, to get them killed, to not do objectives other than get your teammates killed then yes you should be banned. That is not the intention of the game. Just like using an exploit is not the intention of the game. I don't have to put myself in the mindset of an conceptual being to know right from wrong. If they devs who also created the entity intended griefing and sandbagging then why it is reportable?

The devs have drawn clear lines on what is and what isn't acceptable. And no, I will never dabble on the dark side. I find no enjoyment trying to get other people killed. And that git gud crap is as juvenile as people who enter a game with no other purpose but to get their shits and giggles from ruining someone else's gaming experience. If you want to kill survivors and escape, play Killer.

It is ironic that all the sandbaggers/griefers I encounter are always Dwight's with bond. I think you are a griefer who just hasn't gotten banned yet @Evil_Dwight. Good luck with that.

  • I just experienced deliberate sandbagging from two guys that include the fact that they are sandbaggers and griefers in their descriptions on Steam. One has been a member of steam for 8 years the other 4. The two of them have over 9 pages of complaints/reps as griefers/sandbaggers. I can assume I am probably the 100th person to report them. It looks like they have made new accounts time and time again in DBD. Obviously, steam doesn't give a da*mn. Thankfully DBD does. Your point about survivors not being able to control the actions of a killer is well noted, accidental sandbagging is also well noted. But when you have a 2 man team, blowing up gens, using bond to lead the killer to hurt teammates, blocking exit routes, throwing down pallets to alert the killer, jumping in and out of lockers, healing and then messing up skill checks once the killer terror radius comes close, (all of which happened to me and my friend while playing with two sandbaggers e.g. asshats) then those people need to be removed from the community. Our reporting system is already flawed at best, ineffective at worse. Without video it is an uphill battle to get anyone banned, unless of course they have several complaints. If you remove the system by which to report these individuals you will only encourage more griefers/sandbaggers. Increase those odds to encountering a griefer to say 1 every 4 games, then you will have people leaving the game. I know I would. Most of us want to play the game as it was intended.

There is already a system in place for selfish gameplay. It's called leave your teammate on the hook. This strategy is perfectly legit and, while not endearing you to other survivors (payback is a b*tch) it will not get you reported or banned. The type of gameplay I described above should not be tolerated. Play immersed and selfish all you want but the game was intended for the killer to take out survivors, not survivors to take each other out. Bond was not created for sandbagging but to get on gens with teammates, to heal and lead others to safety. Dwight was created as the teamwork mascot, all his perks say so. If you see them any differently, that's your mindset. Play selfish if you want, if that's how you get your kicks, but there are consequences for making the game miserable for everyone. There should always be consequences.

@davidthyrat Don't mind the haters. Maybe they were a SWF and wanted you to save their friend. People always think you can make impossible or slim-chance plays. If the shoe was on the other foot you probably would have been left behind.

  • I don't heal under the hook as a rule. Never know when the killer is coming right back, regardless if they are in chase. However, I'm not running halfway around the map to heal you either. If you keep running without stopping anywhere close I assume you are fine. My peeve is when someone unhooks me and just runs off, especially if we are up on generators. I don't run SC 80% of the time but these instances make me want to put it back on. Now if it is a Nurse or Huntress, I can see why we need to beat feet first.

Despite the survivor propaganda, most people on this forum play both sides.

It depends on what you mean by both sides. Playing 95% of one and 5% of the other for dailies is not both sides.

  • @Komotez said:

I'll do whatever i like thank you.

As a survivor you can ; Teabag relentlessly, drop 20 pallets on my head, abuse infinites, use d-strike, use deliverance, bodyblock the hook, flashlight blind me to oblivion whenever i kick a pallet, meme around the exit gates to mock me for losing and also meme around the map for giggles to delay my next game.

In return, I am free to : Camp and tunnel where applicable

If anything I do agree it's unfair, killers get much fewer ways to meme survivors than vice versa.

Don't forget, even if you're a 10/10 mlg pro survivor and you outplay every killer mercilessly, without your precious rodeo clowns you simply don't have a game to play.

Understandably, not all survivor are toxic memelords, but when we do encounter them, it is only fair that they are punished. If a killer decides to camp their first hook every game then they are asking for a 1k match and a de-pip. I think this is balanced, even if it's 0 fun for the one unlucky survivor

Is bodyblocking the hook considered toxic or just inconvenient?

  • @Orion said:

Despite the survivor propaganda, most people on this forum play both sides.

If that is so why do most people post as if they can only see things from one side? Your response is a perfect example. Bias against survivors, whether you played survivor or not. Saying you play both sides is not 95% of one and 5% of the other for dailies. It is either survivors fault or killers fault with most people on here. Truth is there are unfair things on both sides. Both sides can be toxic, and both sides finger point.

  • If the killer is staying near the hooked survivor it is better to take the hatch. If even one person were alive maybe one of you could have distracted the killer. At best it is a trade off. It is 1v1 at that point with the odds in the killer's favor if you attempt rescue.

  • I am just starting to play killer. I believe if more people play both sides a lot of the finger-pointing would end. You have a lot of immature players that play this game. Yes, some people follow toxic streamers and want to immolate them, but most people just talk shiz because they can. That is the way of the internet. Post a picture on instagram, someone is going to say something derogatory. Devs post a video on youtube, someone is going to say "Fix your sh*t game. or "Pretty good job so far" all the while still playing DBD. I don't think anyone is more bullied than the devs and they are still making content.

    Still play the game.

Most of these people wouldn't bust a grape irl. My advise, you won't be able to change this behavior. Ignore it. GG and move on. Wave to the haters, post "God bless you" in end game chat and confuse the salt out of them. Both sides can be toxic. I've encountered both, I've seen both. Let us stop acting as if there is one side or another. That is the nature of SOME of the people that play this game. When they stress you out, they've won and gotten exactly what they wanted.

  • I dislike the spirit, especially good ones, but I don't DC. How do you expect to learn to effectively counter Billy if you never play him? Maybe you should be Billy. Most of the survivors that are good at playing him, know what he can do and can guess what add ons he has after a few plays. All you do with DCing is s*crew over your team, depip, and give the killer the game for free.

  • Just started playing killer, but I was on the swamp map with one person not loading in and a second dying on hook on purpose. There were still 3 gens to be done. After I hooked the Ace and Dwight twice I let them live for having such terrible odds. I proceeded to play the rest of the game as a stalker just to have fun. I would ease from behind a locker and stare at them before walking off. Poor guys never did trust me and they ran into like 4 traps they were so scared. I don't even think it was their first game at ranks 17, but they still had the fear of killers with them. I can remember stalking Dwight from the dock. Every time he saw me he blew up a gen. I had so much fun that game.

Urban evaders to a hook save when they know killer is on someone else. Like what the hell are you urban evading for.

At least those players are making their way toward you. I see more people crouched and immobile when the obsession is obviously being chased (spiderlegs are moving) or someone just got hit.

  • Bond and Alert are the two most infuriating perks. I see a lot of people complaining that survivors are not scared of killers anymore. The HELL they aren't. Bond reveals them crouching instead of doing gens the moment someone goes on the hook. Like BBQ isn't a thing. Alert shows you all the pallet assassins who don't attempt to loop even once. Look I'm not a great looper but I'd rather take a hit than destroy ever pallet on the map in 20 seconds. I've witnessed this end game scenario multiple times where there are two survivors left, myself of course, and half a gen to be done. I'm playing peek-a-boo with the killer trying to get it done while my 'teammate' searches for hatch or twists in a corner with UE. Is getting hooked the end of the world? I once had a bubba feel so bad for me because all of my teammates stayed in lockers the entire game that he k*lled them and let me go.

The thing about the "Gen lock down perk" is that it still leaves 5 gens untouched meaning you can still have 4 gens being done and once the other gens pop up then the killer has lost a perk.

I think we are going to see some more troll Doctor players using the "gen lock down perk" to set up a perfect 3 gen strat right off the bat.

Agreed. Doctors are going to have a field day but it will also be strong for mobile killers like Billy, Nurse, and Spirit. None of them need to set-up and prep like Trapper and Hag. They can whip around the only four gens available and have 2-3 or more hooks in before the two minute mark. Only thing that is going to make this perk manageable is time and experience. Playstyles will change, for sure. Also, there are only 7 gens total. CI take up 3 so there is only 4 left.

  • Killers Harder so I'll start there

Trapper: He is the only killer I play at the moment. Rough start and shaky finish but I'm a new killer so its all good.

Hag: My next killer to master. She seems hard, but I enjoy playing her.

    Myers: Jump scare machine.

Plague: she looks fun and fair. I'm going to main her.

Order with no explanation: Wraith, Billy, Clown,Nurse, Doc, Pig, Bubba

Least favorite I don't play them so from the survivors perspective:

    Spirit: Mind games. Nuff said.

    Legion: Stab McStabbie. Yawn.

Freddy: The endless wake sleep cycle. Level 10 wth factor! Truly a nightmare.

Huntress: I just can't. Her hitboxes, her lullaby. Just no. I also encounter the most campers from her.

    Survivors:

Jane: She's not even out yet and I can tell you that she is going to be main. Hips to represent and a beautiful Latino. Yes please. I was one of the ones that asked for her before she came out. No, I don't think it made the difference but I'm happy all the same.

Tapp: he is just my good luck charm. So far I have the most whiffs and escapes from killers on him.

Nea: Just because of all the haters. I also usually have BL in my kit. And I'm a former Tomboy.

Claudette: She get's a bad rep. I'm all for the underdog so I play non-immersed, non-toxic. Claudette's are also the most likely to come save you off hook when no one else will.

Dwight: I use to not like him. I encountered a lot of cocky and selfish Dwights, but he's my geeky hero.

Feng: She was bumped out of position by Jane, but she's still one of my favorite character designs.

Middle ground: Bill, Adam, Laurie,Quentin, Ace, Jeff, David

    Least favorite:

Meg: I like her adrenaline but most Megs I encounter work for Farmers.

Kate: Mostly because she's cliche. Her perks are meh, and her hair physics annoy me.

    Jake: Captain oblivious.

  • Some newer survivors don't know what it means or just don't care and so they do it, just as something to do while on hook. I consider myself newer because I haven't played from the beginning of the game but I still only wave when the killer is near. They do themselves a disservice. Then wonder why no one comes for them.

  • I don't think bodyblocking is toxic. It's super altruistic and not smart at all when there is no way to wiggle out of the killer's grasp. I've had 3 teammates go down in the first minute lots of times, even once or twice I was able to turn it around but usually it spells the end of things. With all the hits your teammates took if you were actually wiggling you might have been able to turn it around and also if you were wiggling the hag would not have wasted her time hitting your teammates. I wiggle regardless of how close the hook is because you are not going to walk around with me on your shoulder or decide to go for the basement.

  • Skemooo on youtube makes great videos of upcoming cosmetics found in the PTB files. He did one for Jane. Her cos look so great, she's definitely going into my survivor rotation.

  • @Orion said:

There's only one solution: everyone should play the Legion until all the DCers get banned.

Good idea. Then killer lobbies can go from 10 min to 1hr. :)

  • Honestly, if I get hit right off the hook most of the time it's my teammates fault for rushing to get me before the killer has spotted someone else. I try and stay on gen for a at least 10-15 seconds before I attempt a hook rescue, but inevitably someone is already crouched behind a rock ready to spring forward and save the minute the killer turns around. The only time I despise the tunnel and think it is unfair when the killer literally does nothing until you're unhooked. No one else gets hit or chased, no gens kicked, maybe they walk in a circle and run back to you the minute your feet hit the ground. I've never used DS before because I thought it was unfair, but with the new change I just might.

Also, let's not act as if survivors AND killers don't complain on the forums.

  • Female characters are way more popular than males. The hitbox is the same but it makes a difference when trying to stealth or hide with height and width of shoulders. It might have to do with the way their models run that it looks smoother. I rotate 4 of the females to play but only Tapp and Dwight for males.

  • I heal most of the time. If we are getting hooked faster than we are getting gens done I might leave you if you have SC or a kit, but I rather you be able to take one more hit than get chased again for making noise or bleeding everywhere. Then again you have people that run away and keep running. I used to run WMI but I rarely got to put it to good use.

  • Discordance is really good. Most of the time two or more survivors spawn together and two almost always team the closest gen. When corrupt intervention comes out it will be good to use because you'll have less gens to patrol at the start and you can control a tighter area.

  • I feel as though female survivors are favored overall. I was going to put Adam into my rotation but I'm having a lot of luck with Tapp so he's my go to guy. Now that Jane is coming, she'll round out my top four.

Also edited to say, I feel as if Jake and Adam have some of the worst cosmetics. Adam really needs a 'casual look' that isn't nerdy or like a retired detective with more hair options. Something to make up for the fact that he is a big, visible dude for stealth players. Jake's perks are used much more than he is. His new cos are not that great either. Both need some dev love so they can get the people's love.

  • Survivors who won't leave, playing as a killer or survivor. You can be standing over the hatch with a bear trap on your head and 13 seconds to live and the other player will be teabagging at the gate until your head pops.

Alternatively, when you are on the hook in the basement when the gates are open, everyone leaves. :(

  • I typically play survivor, and I still get mostly annoyed by DCs. Especially first hook DCs. It's like are you serious? Just as bad as DCing is someone who intentionally goes into struggle on first hook and then gives up and d*ies. I just don't see why these people even play the game anymore.

  • @Capt_Disconnect said:

Sorry man, if youre running HEX:ruin, NOED, and bbq and chili your just asking for it. No one feels like wasting their time so some OP killer can get an easy farm.

How do you even know if they are running NOED unless you make it to the end? I suspect you'd be better off with the name Captain Trolltheforums.

  • Of all the farming done by teammates, Megs seem to take the cake. I don't encounter the ones that crouch, but walk to conserve SB. As soon as I'm off the hook they run away to leave me to the killer's tender mercy. Or, if the killer is near they are usually crouched behind a tree or rock, run up and get me off hook then don't take a hit and run away while I get slugged meters from the hook.

  • I use to despise the nurse but now I'd rather hear her horrible screeching than get assaulted by prayer-bs. I hate the mind games at the pallets, the passive phasing, and not being able to tell if she vaulted a window until she's on the other side. Worse case scenerio with Spirit is one running MYC that phases back as soon as your feet touch the ground to down everybody.
