Meg is loud but I feel like Jane is even louder. They have definitely made survivors louder and making extra sounds they didn't have before like the sound when they fall from a certain height, which I think was implemented a few months ago, and they are much louder cleansing totems. Like who makes that much noise taking down a totem? The foot falls are so loud that when I wear a headset I always think I'm being followed but its just my survivors footfalls.
-
Same as Science Guy, most of the Jakes I run into are terrible. They will not make a save, and crouch around the map not doing gens. But we all have different experiences. I think I've heard just about every survivor someone does not like.
-
@Fluffymareep ah, I've encountered that too. It is a shame that happens. I would dc from that game, even though I shouldn't have to. Some people are in their feelings have bad games and take it out on the next group. Despite this game being for a mature audience we do have a lot of teens and pre-teens playing this game. You'll get the childlike mentality even now and again. I've also encountered trolls as survivors too, difference being griefing is easier to prove on a fellow survivor. If the killer is truly griefing survivors, I'd report him too. Good luck with future games.
-
I was looking at him, he was in the middle of my screen because that is where my survivor was. He was literally right across from me, not even diagonal. Also had this happen at a standoff at a pallet. He's on the other side, I'm facing him. He stalks and exposes me. I'm going to make a video and take pictures for future reference. But thanks for the tips. I've heard these before, but I still say his break out is inconsistent and does not work half the time.
-
Because the only ones allowed to be invisible are killers.
-
I play mostly survivor. I think Hex Ruin is fair. Instead of running around for 4 mins trying to find the totem I'm working on learning how to become proficient at powering through it. That's your best option, get so good at pushing through it, that it doesn't matter.
-
It is not fun, but its written somewhere in the acceptable killer playbook, that getting one player out of the game expediently is the smart thing to do. Sure it is not fun for the person being tunneled/camped and run out of the game, but that's the nature of competitive play. Anything for a win. I've heard a popular streamer use the excuse that if survivors rush gens he rushes kills. Well, okay then. I think this is something survivors will just have to live with. It has been punished (killers lose points for staying near the hook) and it has been rewarded (BBQ is an incentive to leave the hook and find someone else), and still it happens. Neither action is bannable, and it is as distasteful to survivors as killers encountering an experienced 4 man swf on comms with insta-heals. Merely something we all have to deal with.
-
As most people have said, it's mainly about who you find appealing to the eye and who has cos/style you like. Also, for some, it might be their backstory. I rotate between five, so I don't think I have a 'main' per se, but my favorite girl is Jane and my favorite guy is Tapp. I've recently started playing Quentin, because I got him leveled up finally with double BP and I really like the way he feels just running him around loops and vaulting, so he's going into my rotation. Right now my rotation is Feng, Nea, Jane, Tapp, and Quentin.
-
I had a game where a GF camped basement. I saw my teammate go down trying to save the first guy put on hook. I wait a bit doing a gen, then I went down to get them both. No one around, no terror radius. I'm literally a second away from lifting the guy off the hook. GF slinks around the corner, yoinks me off the guy. Bam. Games over. Wonderful interactive game that was, with lots of bp for everyone.

I grew up watching scary movies: Hellraiser, Nightmare on Elm Street, Poltergeist, The Exorcist and Child's Play to name a few. The only movie I'd say left me unsettled was The Babadook. I dunno why. I just have no urge to ever watch that movie again, even though the acting and script was great.

on ps4 they should have an after game chat
Have you seen how that is going for PC players? I play on xbox (less than) I play on PC, and xbox post game chat, or lack thereof, is a relief.
-
If you have someone that is not level 50 I would suggest putting points into them. I got Quinton and Bill up to level 40 and have gotten about 10-12 gateaus a piece. They were both level 1s. Unfortunately this means sacrificing a build of your choice.

Meh, the Sloppy Butcher bug was just annoying.
The Tinkerer 2 bug completely took away the TR for the whole match. That's cheating. I'm surprised if people didn't get in trouble for that.
The sloppy butcher stacked and caused massive frame rate drop. Some people's games even crashed. I played against it, and was hit by wrait h 4 times or so. He caught me because I couldn't see a dam n thing. Lul
-
Tapp and Meg.
-
Nah, I have had a stare off with him and loss. He was in the middle of my screen. The break out is very inconsistent. They need to tweak it.
-
I do hope they fix it. It is super Op right now, but banning for using it isn't any more feasible than when killers used the tinkerer perk or wraiths used sloppy butcher while they were broken. Hopefully, the hotfix comes sooner than those did.
-
I do agree that MoM was too overpowered, especially when more than one survivor had it, but I think that having to take 3 protection hits is overkill. It's nearly impossible to do. The entire perk needs to be reworked.
-
Teammates letting me go into second stage struggle when the killer is clearly on to someone else.
Survivors that blow up a gen and run away
When everyone is scared to open the exit gate.
Survivors that run half way around the map when I have WMI, after getting them off hook.
Pallet assassins.
A three man swf that sacrifices the fourth survivor.
Teammates too busy hiding to do gens.

It's a shame that no one ever plays the new characters that come out. I mean I rarely see Tapps, Kates, Adams (almost extinct), Jeffs and now Janes... the most recent characters, no one plays these.
I think it's because many of us already have old characters with P3-full perks and wouldn't really play any of the new ones unless they're super interesting and unique with decent perks. I thought many would main Jane, but I almost never see them so guess not.
As for Jeff, he's kinda huge and hard to hide with, has loud voice and is pretty ugly if you ask me :(
I play Tapp and Jane all the time. I also see a lot of Kates and a fair amount of Adams. I guess it just depends on your region, and rank. Not many Jeff's though. That is true.
-
There are some people think the new version of legion is better. This new version actually requires some thought and planning behind it. No longer can you go into frenzy and just stab someone over and over until you wear them down. You actually have to use his power to slow down the game instead of moonwalking a person into the grave. Those people who enjoyed that type of Legion no longer play him. I'm happy to see less Legions. You're the rare person to enjoy playing against the old Legion.
-
I'm betting most of these posts are from North Americans. I watch some Korean streams even though I can't understand a word and Jake is very popular.
-
I like Jeff's perks, but not his style. He, as someone else said, is also loud as hell. I think they are making survivors louder with each release. Jane is even louder than him.
-
Imagine downvoting someone for their choice in fav and least favorite maps. Petty.
-
I rarely see Quentins, Aces, and Jakes. I play Tapp as one of the only two males I rotate (him and Dwight).
I see way more females as people are convinced the males look clunkier, are easier to see, etc.
I don't main anyone tho my rotation is usually Feng, Claudette, Nea, Tapp, Dwight, Meg, and Jane. I haven't even bothered to buy Ace. I just get his perks off the shrine.
-
They were addressing a question about killers that do not have ultra rares. Billy,Leatherface and Nurse were mentioned as killers to look at. I don't think the devs will ever nerf her or they would have by now. Rest easy.
-
As a survivor, obviously and what has been said multiple times already, Shelter Woods is my least favorite map, any version of Autohaven gives me high blood pressure. The huge deadzones, wall of cars, crap to run into or run around with weird gaps in between walls. Yamoaka's Estate is also terrible (for both killer and survivor I think). I also despise Lery's. For every window there are 2 doors. Also, big thumbs down to Swamp maps.
My middle ground maps are Coldwind Farms, Gideon's Meat Plant, and Crotus Prenn Asylum, and Red Forest.
Maps I like and usually have good odds of surviving on are Ormond, Springwood, MacMillians (other than SW and Coal Tower) and Haddonfield.
-
yeah there are trolls everywhere. I encountered two dwights one dressed as cyclist dwight on pc and they make it their personal mission to sandbag everyone else. They run bond and lead the killers to other teammates on gens while in chase, and they throw down pallets and jump in and out of lockers to make noise. For real I should have dc'd but I wanted to get their antics on video. I reported them both but no telling if it did anything.
-
There has been no word from the devs why this is happening. I had the same issue and it was 7 games in a row before I quit, fearing I'd get banned for dcing. I had never had this issue in the year and half I played the game and nothing had changed about my pc or internet. Luckily, a week later I am not having the same issue. You may want to give it some time to try again. Unfortunately, there has not emerged a solution or a definitive cause. It does seem to be happening on a much larger scale as there are several threads about it. It may have something to do with the changes they've made in the game to get it ready for dedicated servers. We don't know.

I don't think if even one toxic player came forward and told you why they were toxic it would make you feel any better about playing killer.
Why does any bully do what he does? The sense of power, even in a game that at the end of the day is meaningless beyond the fact that its meant to be enjoyable. Even simple games like monopoly bring out the worse in people. The anonymity of the internet makes people who wouldn't bust a grape in real life feel brave enough to be total a holes, online. Such is the nature of PVP. You encounter toxicity on both sides, but certainly more in SWF because bullies like to have an audience.
Since you can't change the way people act, you'll have to change the way you react to it. When you get all bent out of shape-not an easy thing to manage, I know--you are giving the toxic players exactly what they want. Nothing is worse to toxic players than being ignored. Good game or bad game as both killer or survivor I've learned to gg and move on. Toxic players are prepared for your outrage. They don't know what to do with your indifference.
-
I have just been DC'd from 5 games in a row. Some in the beginning and others after about 5-10 mins of gaming. Nothing has changed on my end, internet, ping, or pc. I'm playing a two man SWF and the only reason I know its me is because my friend is still in the game. It's really annoying. I restarted my game and its still happening. Devs please look into this. It's enough that people DC on purpose already.
-
Sometimes I run alert and I can see one survivor being a pallet assassin across the entire map. So painful. I'm not even a good looper but I've learned to conserve pallets, especially when full health.
-
I don't 99 gens and I don't see others doing it. If I unhook a fresh RBT I try and heal them, but if they don't want it I just let them be. Personally, if the timer just started I take a heal depending on how many boxes there are to check or if its a huge map I might take my chances. I do this because I almost always run back into the pig getting the trap off. Yesterday I ran a claudette build (not immersed) that was 3 perks for healing, empathy, we'll make it, and botany. My heal was super fast, but some people wouldn't let me heal them even with a timer just started. I ended up being the only one to make it out of Gideon's because the pig kept checking boxes and people were one hit down.
-
@premiumRICE yes, quick jumps into a locker give the killer a sound notification as if you'd quick vaulted, unless you have quick n quiet. You have to ease it open, but even if the killer is near with good headphones he can hear the locker squeak open.
-
You can use distortion but the tokens do get eaten up really fast. Forget it if they have BBQ, Nurses, or they’re Freddy. If you want to do some locker plays and you suspect Iron Maiden or just want to check, get into a locker when someone is in chase to see if it’s active. Otherwise you have to move within range of BBQ, try to hide behind a gen (rarely works thanks to your aura being a different shade of red) or try your luck with the lockers. I rarely see anyone besides Legion using Maiden.
-
As for the OP post. Sometimes you have to be selfish. But I operate under the idea that the more feet on the ground the better. I can't let my team go to hell around me without trying to save because it hinders my ability to get things done. However, I don't do hook rushing for saves. Killers usually linger and check the immediate area around the hook, so I stay on a gen. Most of the time that means I don't get the save, but I will get the gen. Gotta keep that pressure up.
If I'm having a particularly bad day running solo, I switch my build to more altruistic and run We'll Make it, BT, Botany, or Empathy. Especially if the killer is tunneling off hook its best to get vulnerable players all healed up.
-
@legion_main My God that is an epically bad team.
I can't wait for dedicated servers and hopefully they will put something in place to punish chronic DCs. I can understand the need to allow for DCs because sometimes things are beyond a players control like really bad lag, but DCing is getting out of hand. I don't know how anyone can rationalize DCing because you messed up. You'll never get better if you don't learn from your mistakes.
It is possible to escape a game when you get hooked/downed first.Getting hooked first is a good omen for me. I usually survive those games for some reason.

Holy hell thats just sad if you report the killer for killing someone
This comment was made by the 'friendly' survivor and used as sarcasm.
-
How often are you preventing no gens from getting done? Its a rare occurrence from what I have seen and played. And that time that happens the killers are usually highly mobile like Nurse, Billy, and maybe, Spirit. Odds are still in the killers favor to find the hatch first. I hate to break it to killer mains but the fact that survivors have hope to escape keeps people playing the game. If the chance of surviving was nil a lot of players, myself included, would stop playing survivor. Be reasonable.

To people complaining about a refund.
I Love it, and you're proving that people didn't get the DLC for Ash but for the Perk itself.
This is proof people were only after 2nd chance perks instead of a good DLC.
Pathetic.
Kind of like how some people got Hag for Ruin or Bubba for BBQ?
-
Adrenaline and because of EGC Wake Up as soon as I get it unlocked for the 5 survivors I rotate.
-
If you encounter a lot of survivors bringing in instant heals then they likely play the game A LOT. I hoard my few like the Gollum with the ring from LOTR. As a matter of fact in the year and a half since I started playing DBD I've only brought in an insta-heal once and that was to get the achievement for bringing a rare item without white warding it. BT is a non-issue if you stop going for the person getting unhooked and instead going for the rescuer. DS has been nerfed, so again it is very fair and only punishes tunneling. MOM I heard is getting nerfed. L T walls only work if you know how to loop them, and most people, aside from your 2-5k hr players (and maybe not even then) do not know how to properly loop (myself included). There are unsafe pallets as well as safe pallets. They can't all be unsafe. There are also massive dead zones on each map.
The devs have also reworked all of the maps, to close down windows that made infinite loops, remove pallets, spawn them further apart, put more doors in Lerys and open up the roofs in Haddonfield so windows aren't OP. Nopallet Woods is a great killer map because the dead zones are disgustingly huge. The walls are spread far apart, and the gens spawn next to one pallet tops.
So my question is, do you want to chase survivors in an open field until you bloodlust them to death? That sounds like more your speed, OP.
-
Someone literally down voted everyone's post and most were positive. No wonder they removed the option.
-
SPIRIT. Is she phasing or just standing there? Did she bring the beads and do I need to rotate before she pulls me 'silently' off a gen? Or maybe MYC just to phase back after two seconds of pretending to leave. Yeah. Her.
-
I gg win or lose.
-
I think if you are the only one left and the killer slugs you, you should have the option rushing down the timer. Being slugged for two minutes while the killer prances around, pig crouches over your body or being thrown bottles from the clown is ridiculous. Then if you rush the timer the killer should get no sacrifice points. Hook me so I can go onto the next game. Damn.
-
During DBP, not farming mind you, I went up to the killer to let him hook me after the fifth gen was repaired. My intention was to give him 2 hooks. He hadn't caught anyone. Well he killed me, and all the other survivors that tried to save my life. I was clearly trying to get away after the second hook. Also, Jendenise does this all the time when a killer gets wrecked. Most of the time they shake their head and smack the exit gate, asking her to leave.
-
Adrenaline doesn't need to be nerfed. You run with 3 perks the entire game, that is the downside of having adrenaline. Half the time it doesn't even come into play if you're not hooked/injured in the end. DS has already been nerfed. I think it was fair and much needed, but Adrenaline is not for free. You have to work for it and you'might' not even get to use it.
-
I look forward to the cosmetics as well. Sure there are some bugs that need to be fixed but I think there will aways be bugs. They just created new ones with the last patch like the exhaustion bug. The cos allow for things like buying the rights to feature ghostface in the game. I'm sure the decreased sell of the game and how many people play it for free are not what supports the continued expansion.
That being said, I'm not sure about this new Feng outfit. Its cute, but I think they could do more like offer it in different colors. I earned the Moonrise outfit for Feng and I hardly ever wear it. She definitely needs some love.
-
Detective David Tapp. He's my lucky charm. Why is it reading as Ol Bill, I didn't even change my answer.
-
If you can't get over teabagging, this game is not for you. Survivors are going to do it. I've recently started playing killer. I get teabagged even when I have them dead to rights and they are about to die they bag. I laugh and hook them. As a survivor I stopped caring about facecamping and getting hit spammed on the hook for no reason (I don't teabag or use a flashlight). I go grab a glass of water or something until second phase. If you can't stop toxic behavior you will have to learn how to manage your response to it. As for post game, drop a gg and move on. The new EGC will mean killers don't have to escort survivors out anymore thus robbing them from teabagging forever at the exit gates.
