Then they can at least fix that exploit by fix the bad design but next time i will record longer.
Guess it's time to end this discussion. Nearly everyone will probably agree with you that they should fix the stairs to allow an additional way down the stairs.
But nearly everyone is picking up on your BS with your footage and the convenience of the lack of further footage. Nearly everyone was on your side before that point.

Correct you can record longer but i've not record everything because the game lasted 30m why would i lie. Killers blocked because he wanted to troll. My team have done all gens and opened the doors at 99%, but instead of opening the door they taken the hatch so EGC haven't occur. I've blamed them but he doesn't change the fact that the killer was holding me hostage with another teammate.
Like i said you want to treat me of liar go ahead but, i haven't cut anything and is the full clip i had. If you want however i can give you the full ID list of who i've played even the random who were with us.
You record the game retrospectively not before the game starts so you should have the footage. This footage wouldn't be enough to report the killer with.

See my post above, he records his gameplay on PS4, he has more than the 48 second clip. He cherry picked to fit narrative.
He definitely has the whole game recorded as you do that after the game on ps4 So purposefully trimming it to 48 seconds and not showing the end is telling me that there probably was no hostage situation and the hatch probably didn't even come into play.

Because it doesnt fit his narrative. He is selectively sharing information to sway others opinions.
Ah it does kinda follow his narrative, that survivor did get the hatch...but I think it happened in the opposite order. Claudette finds the hatch, the two DC and the hatch opens, she escapes.
In which case, the game was not held hostage.
-
Why didn't you show the end of the match or at least the others opening the hatch to escape?

Due to the other 2 taking hatch and not opening the doors. If it's a full swf they have communication.
And besides, why doesnt EGC start on key hatch close? Seems any hatch closing should, as SOMEONE has gone through it.
All that aside. The killer isnt completely responsible. They're being scummy, but know in their mind," two are out there. Theyll finish gens and start EGC, and these two will die."
They didn't think to themselves, "hey, I bet the other two will use a key for hatch and let me hold these two forever.'
It's still scummy. And the house should still have a drop off (inside, not to corn), but I dont blame the killer for taking hostages here. The SWF team had a potential to end it, and opted to leave two stranded.
You could argue that they left via hatch to force the killer to take action or be held responsible for holding the game hostage.

So in a full swf team. The TEAM stranded the others. That's not the killer. Also, once the hatch closes, wouldnt the EGC trigger anyway?
I don't know lol

This is not taking game hostage. The other 2 survivors could've triggered egc
Well...the outside survivors finished the gens but left via hatch so egc never occured.
-
@HellDescent said:
So how many survivors did she block at the stairs and how many were alive elsewhere?
2 on the stairs, and 2 outside

Look at all the people falling all over themselves to defend this killer. So bizarre. Regardless of whether or not it's technically taking the game hostage, this type of stuff is not what the devs intend to happen. Why do you think they changed the basement stairs after they added the EGC? Exactly for this reason.
There's no reason the upper floor shouldn't have a drop point.
Defend is a strong word, nobody is praising the killer. It's just a matter of whether or not the killer was holding the game hostage and it seems like a yes.
-

Playing with their swf. They had a team.
They TOLD THE TEAM if they went to save theyd be caught.
They were.
That means THE TEAM (the other 2) are still out of the house. Able to do gens. Prompt EGC. And the 2 "hostages" die to EGC. That's not hostage taking. Scummy, yes, but the game CAN end.
The out of house team did finish the gens but opted to use the hatch rather than open the exits so egc never prompted...so in this scenario the game was held hostage.
-
Adrenaline really promotes genrushing, if I see gens pop while the survivors are still injured I get worried.

It is because my two others teammate escape with a key so no EGC.
Shouldn't you be more annoyed that your team mates left you with a key when they could be doing gens for free.
Edit: wait...all the gens are done, why didn't your friends just open the gates?

There isn’t enough information. We’re they both slugged? Was there a gen upstairs that he could have worked on?
If one was on the hook, and the other slugged, they weren’t held hostage. They were bait. They would have died eventually and the game would have ended.
If they both were not slugged, or hooked, and they had no way out of the second floor, then they were held hostage.
Most likely at least one was hooked, and the rescuer got slugged.
They were both standing at the top of the stairs with the killer blocking them but there were other survivors in the game that were not in the house.
The other survivors is the reason this scenario isn't considered holding the game hostage as they can do gens and activated egc which would end the game.
-
@FrenziedRoach said:
Yah, that's not holding the game hostage.
If the other survivors finished the gens and triggered the End Game Collapse, Spirit would still get 2 kills out of it
Spirit's points would be crap though.
That being said, it's probably not a bad idea for the devs to break one of the railings at the stairs to give survivors another way out in case of situations like that. I wouldn't put a vault point off the balcony to the field, that would make the house WAY too safe.
I agree, if the game can end, it's not considered holding the game hostage.
-
Matchmaking is the biggest problem, I'm in the red ranks as killer on ps4 but I don't deserve to be. I'll play against rainbow teams where their ranks are all over the place with one red rank survivor and yes I generally 4k in those games and my rank would go up...but when I play against a legit all rank 1 coordinated swf team...I know about it and I'll barely get a kill and that's only because they would get overconfident.
Granted this doesn't happen often but that is because of the poor matchmaking which skews the "statistics".
These complaints don't come out of nowhere, if killers were getting genuine 4ks on average then they would be very quiet on the forums as why would you rock the boat if you have it good.
-
You joke but Bots may very well be the future of the game.

@Every1poops said:
PS4 needs more killers. I'm at red ranks and im getting paired with rank 14 killers all the time. It must be so fun for newer killers to get stomped like that.
It's an cycle, killers quit due to being stomped by good survivors. Survivor queue times extend, game forces good survivors to play against inexperienced killers due to lack of high rank killers, killer gets stomped and quits playing killer...and the cycle continues until the game dies.

Umm, hell no.
Being able to memorise where absolutely everything is because it’s always the same would actually lead to LESS balance in the game, and ABSURD levels rushing in the game.
You can already memorize the maps, even now the basic structure of the maps always stay the same. it's the random tiles that are littered around said maps is what makes it bull.
And how would it cause it to be less balanced?
Each time I load into grim pantry I have to hope the window is at the back of the main building or on Haddonfield where you hope the house of pain won't be there.
@EnveeEnvy said:
I played Lerey's three times in a row yesterday. Followed by two Crotus. I am seeing a lot of repetition of maps and it is boring as fudge.
But i also do not want to play the same damn maps over and over again either. Proceedurally produced maps are fine with me. If they fixed the maps that is.
There are nearly 30 maps so there is variety but I can't see how they can balance them if they leave it to rng to do the heavy lifting.
-
This is a very survivor sided map, I think it has the most safe pallets in the game so it was always going to be difficult against a good team.
-
Lately I play killer exclusively on ps4 in UK due to queue times. Takes around 10 seconds to find a game as killer, I have to sort my build out before I search as there isn't enough time lol.
As a survivor it takes roughly 10 minutes which I don't have the patience for even though I would like to play survivor.
It is getting harder to play the game and I am considering taking a break from it once I unlock all the perks for killers.
-
@PrettyFaceKate said:
They're both unbalanced unlockables. One is more unbalanced than the other, but they're both OP.
Moris (ivory and ebony) are more effective than keys when used correctly (i.e. tunnel a survivor early). This almost always grants a 3-4k, unless the killer is a real potato.
Keys are not on the same level of power, definitely not in solo. They're not a free party escape even in a 4-men SFW, because of the hatch spawn mechanic. They obviously allow escapes that would have been kills, but they don't hold the same potential to save 3-4 people as moris (even just ivory, which is all one needs) have the potential to give 3-4 kills.
True, mori's are more powerful than keys but the same key can be used over multiple games with add-ons which brings it more on par with mori's imo.
-
Keys and mori's are more or less the same in terms of fairness. But saying that keys take more work is simply false.
If I'm a killer I have to at least hook a survivor once which isn't hard but it's still something.
If I'm a survivor with a key I don't need to do anything, I can sit there waiting for either the gens to be done by other survivors or wait for other survivors to die.
Both should be nerfed as they have little counterplay and are unfun to go against.
-
This game isn't kind to new players especially if they are playing with experienced players. I'd have to rank down as survivor of I wanted to introduce my friends to the game.
Playing against a red rank killer for your first time would instantly put you off and that's what would happen if I played with someone I never played with before.
Killerwise...I think they'd enjoy themselves until they got to rank 15...
-
The video is quite killer biased...but some of the points are hard to dispute such as the toolboxes.
If gen times are too quick without toolboxes than whatever is done to the toolboxes themselves are redundant.
Another was "don't worry about the first two gens, they are as good as complete". Might as well make the maps tiny in that case and have only 3 gens to complete.
A lot of these comments are focused on how coconut came across rather than looking at his points specifically.
-
I either completely destroy the survivors or get absolutely destroyed by them...I can't remember the last time I've had a "competitive" game.
-
I agree with points 1 and 2 for nerfing DS. I disagree with point 3 as if points 1 and 2 were in effect, that would mean the killer is tunnelling and the survivor should not be punished for making a defensive play like going in to the locker.
But if these changes did happen I think DS should also get a buff and not be a one time use. It would make the perk very strong but also fair.
-
True, good players won't put themselves in That position. But also his reaction to the wraith is also worth noting.
These YouTubers also stream which will include footage of them getting stomped. Just need to be bothered to look for the footage.

I generally know how to combat 360's, that's not my issue.
My issue is how much faster the 360's have gotten lately without warning compared to how they were before and it seems like it's due to dedicated servers going live.
-
@Helevetin_nopee said:
I noticed it too. After the dedicated servers change on ps4 you literally cant turn as fast as survivors are 360ing
I'm glad it isn't just me than lol
-
I get that but it feels like something has changed and survivors can move left and right more rapidly then they could do before...or killer sensitivity has decreased.
Either way I'm having more difficulty hitting them then I did before. Was wondering if there was an update or something.

I remember.
What are the chances of the devs doing it again? Lol

@LordGlint said:
Its iffy. That same concept was also applied to survivor stun perks with enduring affecting them. They made DS extra long because enduring was making it useless. One would THINK they would have tweeked those stun times once they changed enduring...but they didnt. This is probably more of a case of "find a new perk if you dont like new ruin" rather than any changes are gonna take place regarding the core game design.
You are right, it seems that the devs lack organization. And are probably forced to focus/tunnel on specific things each month which would explain scenarios like DS & enduring.
-
@BigTimeGamer said:
What if the devs do want to extend gen times etc but the only thing stopping them is ruin because in those scenarios it would be too strong.
So with ruin nerfed the devs can now see how fast gens really take in the ptb and hopefully make some changes in the near future to combat that.
Gen times themselves are not the core issue; Its killer pressure and map design. It should not take the killer 60 seconds to get to a gen, by then its already long past popped if there are 2 or more on it. Ruin helps mitigate this and gives them a chance to even defend the far-off gens. This is among other issues but im too lazy to go through it all again.
Gen speed is just one example, this also applies to the examples you've stated. If map design got fixed and it was much easier for killers to pressure survivors than ruin could have been in a position to be too strong.

Not even bubba can hit the "hidden" rescuer with his chainsaw...that was surprising.

Not that it was undeserved, but lets be clear here.
The devs unit of metric is 2 dead, 2 escape for survivors. The current kill rate for killers across the board is near 70%.
So when you see the current 'poor killer posts' like the OP, I'm really just asking people to make up their mind. Because its clear the OP doesn't understand this metric.
Based on your statement, if its 'deserved' then it means that people are happy with the killer nerf to bring them back in line with the devs vision. If people feel its 'undeserved' then you are literally looking back at the release of the game and things like infinites ( REAL infinites too, not the pseudo-infinites I see some trying to claim) and question those nerfs to survivor.
But really the OP is just after tribalistic talking points. Like minded people read the title, come to the thread and type 'I agree with you'.
70% across the board? As in 70% average? I don't think that's right. Highest rate might be 70% but average is closer to 55% which does go closer to the devs 2 die and 2 escape.
But let's be honest that the likelier scenario in the game (and what I experience) is that either all survivors escape or nearly all of them die. I rarely see two survivors escape when there are still gens left to do. So I don't think you can ever get accurate statistics.
I do agree that OP may have misinterpreted the devs intention. Making it more fun for survivors probably isn't the primary goal rather a "we might as well do this while we are here" kinda goal.
I feel people in general (me included) are happier with the state of the game, I agree with some nerfs and disagree with others but the game has improved because of these changes. I don't think anyone can argue against that.

lol....
'All we have is anecdotal'
Proceeds to explain that 'far more people' is statistically significant and claims my point as an outlier.
Here's a tid bit for you.
Over time the devs have consistently removed or nerfed the aspects that allow survivors to survive (vaults, pallets etc.), while buffing killers (bloodlust, more one-shot/instant find mechanics, end game hatch). Survivor mains did one of 2 things since release. Left the game or migrated to playing killer. The only survivor mains left are ‘new’ survivors who have no perspective or my favourite; killer mains that ‘play both sides equally’ -.-
If anything your 'far more people' is just an indication of bias, because survivor main have disengaged. Why stick around and comment when you just witness nerf after nerf.
I even have a list for you , that was put together BY A KILLER MAIN. Who didn't realise he was showing me all the survivor nerfs killer buffs. He's tried to highlight it as 'things that have helped survivor' but they've either been nerfed or removed.
1. Pallet Vacuum
2. Exhaustion recovering while running, meaning potentially 2 Sprint Bursts, 2 Balanced Landings, 2 Dead Hards, in one chase.
3. No Entity blocker, meaning infinites were truly infinite.
4. Instablinds
5. Instaheals
6. Self Care pre nerf
7. Many killers were in a worse spot, Hag, Trapper, Wraith, and especially Freddy, all of them being great examples before getting a few QoL changes.
8. Insane amounts of pallets on maps.
9. Old DS
10. Old Mettle of Man
11. Survivors prolonging the endgame for no reason before EGC.
12. Hatch standoffs
13. No Bloodlust. You could run a killer around the Shack for the whole game.
14. window vacuum,
15 insta gens(old old bnp),
16 half of the infinite windows (now half of buildings that had infinite windows have them closed/nerfed/50% to spawn or its ironworks of infinite)
17 Ballanced landing creating infinites
18 hook respawn
19 gens took less time
20 no exhaust (so you could run every speed perk)
Usually if one side gets nerfed more than the other it means that the side that is getting constantly nerfed is overpowered.
It's not done out of spite or to appease a specific group and showing the sheer number of survivor nerfs really shows how broken survivors were.
Unless you genuinely think that these nerfs were undeserved.
-
You need to clean your heatsink. There's probably a big buildup of dust there.

Shaggy's already been looping killers for decades, who else is more qualified? Lol

I'd rather have shaggy as a survivor. Probably fits in to the game the most.

No. I'm saying the odds of getting it are low and the removed the main issue with the map.
True, there is a low chance in getting that map, as there is a low chance in getting Ormond, swamps, cornfield...doesn't mean they shouldn't be looked into.

The point of these forums is to offer OUR views, criticisms and concerns. We get that it is THEIR game but feedback is crucial to make it as good as it can be even if it means that we disagree.
The devs have made some really poor decisions that they were able to revert thanks to feedback and they also made very good decisions once again thanks to good feedback.

Exactly! Its not very unbalanced! So I dont understand why people think it needs to be reworked before more broken maps such as Hawkins, The Game and Lerys!
Hawkins is a little iffy but the other two maps aren't broken. If anything the game map is quite survivor sided unless your using nurse or hag.

Even statistics for red ranks showed that survivor escape rates were less than 50% (these statistics do not include games with disconnects)...
From Peanuts:
"The average kill rate for- according to kill rates- the weakest killer on the worst map at rank 1 is only 54.90% (45.1% escape rate). That kill rate only goes up from there for stronger killers and more killer favored maps."
55% kill rate is still fairly balanced, out of 20 games 2 survivors survive 19 times on average. I don't think the kill rate goes up by much, the majority of times it's already at a good level.
-
The only time I've "abused" pwyf is when I'm trying to lose Chase rather than hitting the survivor and the survivor thinks that I want to farm/being friendly. It's not intentionally and I feel guilty when I smack the survivor down.
And example of perks actually being abused would be survivors with bt and Ds. Running into the killer and body blocking with bt or going for an overly aggressive save in front of you because of the safety of DS.
