  • Laaaaaame idea,band-aid fixing never really helped this game, can we finally fix the issues at his roots pls?
What band aid fixes did we get for DS?
    No, no and no

DS is only strong if ur the obsession
And this perk would severely punish the obsession and no obsession DS users alike.

I would also like DS to simply disappear but I think this could be an alternative route.
  • Not saying that NOED in particular is fine. But in general perks that give you a boost when you are losing are not problematic, however that is only true so long as the boost is less than the snowball from the fact that you are losing (or in otherwords you should never be MORE likely to win now that the survivors have made additional progress). Those gens should always hurt you more than they help you, but that does not mean they can't help you, hence end game builds.

like, a survivor is very likely to escape once the gate is powered, not as likely if the killer has NOED, but even in that case they are still more likely to escape compared to when the gate isn't powered.

DS is problematic because you are more likely to survive a chase after using it compared to when you were initially injured or downed

Or in otherwords a perk can turn a point of failure into a point of lesser failure and still be fair. However it is not fair for a perk to turn a point of failure into a point of success.

Keep in mind that even without NOED it is possible for the killer to win after the gates are powered. Thus having a boost that makes it possible to win is still a point of failure as the gates being powered still makes it highly possible to lose compared to before then.

(I consider blood warden and remember me to both be stronger than NOED in this context since they are more effective at letting you win the game after the gates are powered)

I agree that ds is much more of a problem compared to noed as respecting the possibility of a noed as a survivor is usually enough to escape. You just have to take ds most of the time and hope you can resolve the second chase quickly, if not you lose.

I don't believe remember me and blood warden is stronger. Although Remember me is very strong but promotes tunneling and blood warden is too situational, survivors can make themselves scarce if they know about it and you have to time the hook.

Killers: If the killer camps, rush gens.

    Survivors: rush gens

    NOED pops

    Killers: Do totems.

On a side note, I can't stand the argument that NOED counters gen rush. Please stop defending the devs' habit of fixing game play problems with perks.

What if the killer doesn't camp?

Then that's purely their decision. If they down someone early in the game, camping would pretty much guarantee a tie at least. But if they don't and they apply good map pressure, it makes it very difficult for survivors to take out the totems, especially if they're playing a viable killer. Which leads me to another issue with NOED. It furthers the gap between Solos and SWF even more. NOED is incredibly weak against SWF, but against solos who don't have the same communication, a lot of time could be wasted searching.

A simple buff to small game would solve that, a counter showing how many totems are left. I think noed adds a flavour of fear and uncertainty when I'm survivor but that's just me.

I feel like people hate it because it rewards poor performance. I'd just make it so that survivors know the killer has noed when the last gen is popped rather when a survivor is hit. It would give extra warning to the survivors. Also that the NOED totem would be revealed in a small radius so you would have to spend 10 hrs finding it.

I don't care about NOED or DS. They both can be annoying to go up against, but I like your thoughts on players perception of the NOED perk.

    • I feel like people hate it because it rewards poor performance

If this truly is the majority of players perception I as a killer who couldn't care if NOED stays or goes.

    • Remove NOED for killers
    • Remove hatch for survivors

NO MORE REWARDING ANYONE FOR BAD PERFORMANCE

    Id agree to this

  • A simple buff to small game which indicates how many totems are left would solve the problem.

At least the survivor would have to sacrifice a perk slot to counter noed.

Ds is a whole different discussion I'm afraid.
  • I'd sacrifice noed in a heartbeat to get rid of ds.

But the major difference between the two at least for me is that when I'm survivor I get scared and paranoid about a potential noed and that's what killers are suppose to do, it brings a little excitement into the game.

But when I'm killer and I get ds'ed and have to go through another chase which not only loses me all that momentum, I find myself behind 1 or 2 gens. It's definitely an unpleasant frustrating experience.
  • The generic killer rank as mentioned above is a very good idea. Most killers are generally played the same but there are exceptions where this generic rank rule will come into play. If you've ranked up to rank 1 with Myers but want to try out nurse, your gonna get rekt, same goes for the spirit.

    Wow lyric is mad...

The killer would still have to hit and hook the survivor giving you time to hide or move to a different area.

Right now if a survivor dcs the killer gets an instant kill saving several minutes of chase and bleed time.

Isn't it technically an easy 4k if a survivor DCs anyway? This solves some inbalances with it occurring.
It would totally expose and waste the time of the other survivors who could be busy escaping because they have the gens to do and who says he doesn’t tunnel you right after because he realizes it’s afk? usually the guy who dc like that is always the ######### with d strike that goes down,  misses it with 5 gens left and then everyone is screwed , you’re saying they should have a fake alive status and not let the team know which is bullshit , A bot would be better because at least it’s doing something and you don’t lose your hooks.

No one said any of that. You are projecting WAAAAAY to much. That is dumb, no one advocated for a fake survivor that struggles and acts like a real one only to confuse other survivors. What space coconut simply suggested was making it so wheb you DC you don't just teleport away to safey and deny the killer points "just because". If you hook the survivor that DC, it's instant sacrifice, meaning

     A. There is one less hook on the field,
    B. The killer used up time to hook that body
    C. Survivors cannot just DC to protest being slugged or give other survivors the hatch, which is unfair and not what the DC button was meant for.

Two of those are dorect benefots to survivors, by the way. Also, one more thing, you know when someone DC's they have the DC icon over their avatar, right?

But what if it’s his first hook is my point it’s dumb to not look at everything that could happen

Dude, you completely lost it at this point? What difference would it make if that was his first hook or not? If he was going to dc, for whatever reason, he was going to dc. All this would mean is now instead of the killer immediately moving on to chase the next survivor, he has to hook and sacrifice the bidy, then go on a chase.

If he has BBQ and Chili so what? If he was playing well enough to make the guy DC, he was going to hook him and find you anyway.

What is really your point man? Please give me ONE scenario where this doesn't benefit both sides against the DC'er and protect from game abuse.. Just one.
If the survivor that dc is on his first hook then it’s a waste of time coming to get him and heal him and you expose your location by saving the survivor, what don’t you see about that? I could be doing something productive and not worrying about a guy who dc , he’s saying with an alive status still, if we’re going as far as to leave them in game at least notify the other survivors so they don’t waste their time trying to save an afk survivor and allow the killer to just hook the afk survivor and go on about it and I’m cool with that but don’t give me a fake status telling me my teammate has been hooked
Obviously there would be DC icon to let everyone know....
  • If you've been downed for a couple of minutes, shouldn't you be more annoyed at the survivor that has no intention of saving you rather than the killer that leaves you there to search for him?
  • As a killer main I think slugging is a legitimate tactic for creating map pressure and getting that 4k in the end. I don't slug very often unless I get the inkling that one of the survivors have no intention doing gens and are patiently waiting for the other survivors to die so they can get the hatch in which case I would do everything in my power to stop that as I feel they don't deserve it. If one of the down survivors sacrifice all their points for someone else to get the hatch than so be it, like that's allot of points they just threw away. At least the game will end quickly because of that assuming the last survivor knows where the hatch is.
  • To get an extra 2 heals after self-care has ended maybe?

also in it's current state why would you bring in a med kit?
  • Love putting a have trap on the other side of a pallet and watching the survivor jump across the pallet towards me...I can feel the regret from him lol.
  • as stated from everyone else, you guys created this situation yourselves. leaving 3 generators side by side is always a bad idea.

but even with that if you guys were coordinated and can hit a skillcheck, you could have made it out sooner. i don't think you hit a single overcharge skill check which might have helped. at least communicate with each other so you can vacate the gen without hitting madness 3, you know the killer had no intention of chasing you so use it to your advantage. little by little the gens would have gotten done (if you hit the skill checks)

also see it from the killers point of view, there is 1 gen left and all 4 survivors are still alive swarming the last 3 gens. he was probably under a lot of stress and pressure as it was clear he wanted to win but his back was against the wall and had no choice but to play defensive.

lastly your attitude at the end was very hypocritical and toxic, the killer was trying to win the best he can and when it was clear that he could not he gave up, that's when the teabagging and the refusal to leave started. back when he was "holding the game hostage" it wasn't clear who the winner was but when you guys started your antics it was.

I hope you can show a bit more empathy next time....at the very least hit the skillchecks.

  • As there are so many perks now and it's hard to acquire the ones you need for a particular build, will there be a rework on how we would acquire these perks other than relying on rng?
  • You're missing the point...be it 3 seconds than. The point is that it would stop the hatch stand off. A survivor would have to do a gen and to force the killer away rather than stare at each till one gives in.

By your logic the hatch should just spawn infront of the survivor to end the game asap.
