oh god for a second i thought you mean Afk crows. You didnt mean AFK crows, right?
Lmao no. That would be a funny bug though.

I think survivors shouldn't be injured by idle crows, but that is all.

Springwood was the first concept for future maps. Even in springwood, there are still stupid strong pallet loops. The whole point of the post s to acknowledge that they haven't budgeted pallets in the ways they said they would.
True. Ormond is actually a good example that was mentioned in another comment. Springwood might've worked with their idea if they nerfed the four buildings on that map lol

I guess you actually need to git gut you mean? Tons of killer perks have conditions why that perk cant have it
Tunneling and camping is okay according devs.
But the devs also want tunneling and camping to have counterplay, hence BT and DS's rework, as well as perks like Babysitter or whatever it's called now. And DS with it's nerf has a lot of conditions already. I'm not saying it isn't a strong perk, but it has a purpose to fulfill.
Also, skill checks aren't hard to hit unless you have lag, and you know how badly optimized this game is for some consoles. That isn't really a matter of getting good.
-
Because Springwood sucks and shouldn't be used as an example for future maps.
-
The design of it is weird now that I think about it. "You missed the skill check? I guess you aren't actually being tunneled then, my bad."
-
You realize totems were cleansable before the update, right?
-
If you want to limit the range, make it take 14 seconds to relight it, and let survivors stomp it out in 2 seconds then sure.

Well, the objective of the game is to survive, so I fail to see how that's "playing well." You died.
However I do agree with the sentiment. It's escape-based matchmaking and frankly is the previous system. Just with less meaning behind the colors.
It's called "skill based matchmaking". It should be based on skill and not one factor.

So I'm wanting to complete those hook save challenges and got saved by a Jill she gets caged by Pyramid head and I rescue he so why doesn't it add progress I saved her didn't I and by the way she lasted more then 10 seconds meaning it was safe so why didn't it progress.
I wonder if they just don't know how to code them to count as hooks. It would just be a simple quality of life change since there are so many perks for both sides that revolve around hooks.

I am worried about Iron Will. Other than that she'll definitely be fine.
Ye a lot of people run that and it makes it so easy to counter her in phase. At least she has her speed going for her.
-
She really wasn't but she is really going to struggle against no scratchmarks/iron will players. She is pretty much the same against everyone else though.
-
Why do people hate Feng's new portrait? She looks 10x better.

boon perks are weak, ftmp
and the potential to remove Inner Strength from the solo queue perk equation is a bit disheartening.
Could’ve designated boon rng for little witchy spots in the realm to build-your-own boon. That way, killers could completely remove them easily... but the perks aren’t worth the fuss anyway, imo.
only takes a split second to snuff them out, so... no worries, tbh
all just a bunch of mildly flashy gimmicks
I feel like inner strength should apply to blessing a totem as well but obviously if you don't bring boon perks but your teammates do you won't get any value out of inner strength.

Ah yes, SBMM in a party game balanced like a party game. What a great idea.
For reference, in tournaments, the only killers who won any matches consistently were Nurse and Spirit. Not to mention the fact that survivors can complete their objective in under 6 minutes regardless of if the killer plays well or not.
I am sure good players are going to LOVE playing with SBMM. I get punished for playing well as killer because I will only get genrush sweat squads. I get punished for winning as survivor by being forced to play against Spirit every match.
Not everyone plays like it's a tournament or else we would have a lot more of those.

it is that simple. you are playing the match. you can tell the skill of the people playing against you.
and having a number won't change that.
Should the skill of people you play against fluctuate so sharply?

Imagine losing to Zanshin Tactics or Windows of Opportunity and thinking they're broken.
Who said that?
-
I'm mostly content albeit a bit disappointed we didn't get a reworked map at least, or any perk reworks.
-
I like bullying people on Midwich as Nurse and playing Gideon with pallet eater Wraith, so I'd be a bit opposed to it. I don't like being sent to bad maps like Springwood or Haddonfield though, but I would prefer for sacrificial wards to be more common or make sense instead of removing map offerings entirely.

so then basically is a problem, what about killers? should always face Sweaty de pip squads all the tiem aswell because they do a little bit more decent than average? makes again no sense.
Sweaty depip squads aren't a "bit more decent than average" and neither are the god Blights, Nurses and Spirits.
-
I'm not going to judge you for having fun in other ways but chase is a basic part of the game that doesn't require SWF or throwing the game. Why would they need to play killer for that?
-
@Reinami said:
I never understood the argument that people don't like getting tunneled. Like, if you aren't being chased by the killer, you get to hold m1 on something. The chase is the fun part of the game. I'm glad if i get tunneled, means i pissed them off enough to chase me out of the game and i get to play the best part of the game.
They mean tunneling off of hook mostly, not "tunnel vision." They said they think it's fun because you're actually getting chased, I think it's fun too. Feels worth it to get tunneled then. Not to get tunneled because you were defenseless off of hook.

I don't recall signing up to be on the survivor's team if I'm on killer. And yes, I have. I think rank 4 is enough to understand.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2421382#Comment_2421382
I guess the solution is don't be seen?
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2421385#Comment_2421385
Why do you let them push you to your spawn?
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2421392#Comment_2421392
Those games are exactly why I feel the way I do. If I agree that friends should be allowed to have fun at one players' expense (how dare BHVR let people have fun!!1!11!!) then why does it not work both ways?
No one is saying you can't have fun at the other player's expense. You asked why people hate tunneling so you were told why. The player doesn't get to actually play.

Do those peopleat the top matter?
They matter against people trying to have fun and meaningful games.

That's false.
You don't need to sweat to be good.
Some players will sweat and never be half as good as someone like Otz or Umbra. Other players can play casually and be better than them.
It's a range.
It doesn't matter if they sweat or not, in fact if you aren't sweating and are still a top survivor/killer you deserve to be put with people of your skill level or at least close to it. Not the average player.
-
Megs are either gods at the game or they don't know how to walk/run instead of crouch.

@Crowman said:
Sounds tend to be bugged a lot, but they are a lot more noticeable when playing as spirit.
But footsteps have always been audible as spirit with sometimes individual survivors bugging out and stopped making any sounds altogether.
It's probably the most frustrating aspect about trying to play spirit, you are often more just fighting whether or not the game just decides to bug out sounds on you.
Why are all of the strong snowball(ish) killers so buggy lol
-
@Exxodus21 said:
You could definitely hear footsteps before.

I play Spirit a lot and it is a bug. I was able to hear footsteps before this midchapter but now I can’t. Not sure who told you otherwise but sounds like they don’t play Spirit that much.

I dont play spirit much but i know you could hear them before now maybe he did not hear them well because of the chase music that a possibility the number of time i lose track of the survivor because of that is insane so it could be that

So if the survivors DC would you also feel bad?
I feel like if a survivor DC's on death hook they're definitely just having a bad day, same to killers who DC after gates are powered. On the other hand it is so funny when survivors DC the first time they're downed, or when killers DC because their totem got cleansed or they got spun.
-
@KweenPlease said:
Probably a FNAF chapter.
Sorry, I don't want tunneled by an animatronic bear or camped in a pizzaria.
I know DbD has some campiness to it, but that's turning the dial too far for me.
Honestly I've barely played the games but the people who constantly complain about them are starting to feel more childish than the proclaimed audience for the games.
-
I also had the same with Alert on Mothers Dwelling, though I can't tell when it started because the killer was Pig using Blindness addons.
-
Dead hard for distance is never getting nerfed. I will say that they can give an effect similar to Doctor's power where you cannot throw any pallets of vault a window for a few seconds after. That is the best way in my opinion, but only after they actually fix it first. A lot of people DH for distance because using it for its intended purpose costs you a down in most circumstances.
-
I'm not playing Claudette anymore lol. I like the nose and eye changes, but her hair and maybe something else is bothering me.
-
So someone explained this in another thread, but basically the survivor was lagging a bit. They vaulted the window and the server took extra time to receive that input because of said lag, making it look like you hit them on your end. This doesn't have anything to do with stun validation by the way, this is a window, not a pallet. This has been happening to my boyfriend before the update, and to Plague since god knows when.

I try to but you wouldn't be having fun if everyone else can easily reach red ranks yet you for some reason with 3 years of playtime can't. It runs the game for me
I have a feeling the people who reach red rank in a month are the same survivors that people complain about when they talk about boosted "baby" survivors. Also I hover around rank 4-5 but I've never made it to rank 1, so I feel your pain lol. Do you play for emblems/points?
-
I was climbing ranks until I stopped playing with my SWF. Don't play for ranks, play to have fun because you could be the best player in the world but your teammates will still let you down.
-
If the hooked survivor doesn't kill themselves on hook they should be given the average of their teammate's points that have been made up to that point. That's all I want.
-
@tippy2k2 said:
To me what can make it the most frustrating is that there is very little a solo player can do about it. While it's certainly not bullet proof for the SWF, it is FAR easier to coordinate rescuing someone being camped. Just another thing that SWF gives you an advantage to over solo.
I am generally someone who will still try to grab the camped but it's amazing how often I'll go in for the unhook and get the killer to quasi-chase me and hit me, giving someone else a chance to grab the hooked but then nobody goes in for the save. They still just crouch nearby waiting for...a written invitation? I have no idea what the hell they're doing...
Also, give the camped some G D points BHVR. At least make it bearable for them as they can at least score some BP for sitting there AND it'll give solo players a reason to stay hooked when they're being face camped. While I won't leave a game because I'm being face camped because I'm not a selfish jerk, a lot of solos will just kill themselves up there because they have no reason to waste four minutes of their life to help out three complete strangers trying to hammer gens as fast as humanly possible...
This and also maybe stop punishing survivors by giving them negative altruism points for playing smart against a camping Bubba.

I know but this mechanic man... The 6 second chased turned into a 30 secs chase that turned into 1 min and 20 sec chase just because of stun validation. Feels annoying as hell.
Yeah, it's pretty demoralizing. They're going to fix the fake hits though I'm pretty sure.
-
Ping can spike up and down.

@Altarf said:
I don't really think Trickster's comparable to old Legion. Old Legion could down you anywhere with zero effort or way to escape, Trickster is hard countered by walls and can run out of ammo quickly and breaking line of sight shuts down his power.
It's mainly a matter of people not knowing how to loop him - being mindful of your position like with Bubba and avoiding low wall loops and open areas. Hump those walled tiles.
(Comment posted early, in case you saw the unfinished one)
Low wall loops and open areas make up the majority of most maps, and if you are caught out of position you won't be able to make it to a safe tile, even with your sprint burst from getting injured. I've watched a lot of gameplay from him.

Probably because survivors don't see the killer or anything either until they enter the game. That's not my thinking, I'm just assuming it's BHVR's thinking. Just go into the game and tunnel the key user if they want to be cheeky like that.

4 deadhards in one team. Slugging builds such as The Third Seal, Knockout, IF for killer

Yea ,the best solution is to screw over the side you dont main instead of fixing it for BOTH sides.
It's fixed for both sides. Don't see why you think not getting free hits is screwing anyone over. Maybe don't screw the person with better ping over instead.

Why can't they both just happen? In those tight situations I always thought it was most fair when the Killer got Pallet Stunned AND the Survivor took a Hit.. that's at least fair to both sides instead of just one or the other.
That literally just negates the point of dropping the pallet. What is the survivor getting out of that besides points?
-
@Guest1567432 said:
All the people that keep saying this is a good thing realize whats going to happen right?.....Everyone will be either playing Nurse, Spirit or Death Slinger because to them the situation is like "What are pallets?"....... Now I don't have a problem with not getting hits through pallets the thing is that if I didn't get a hit my client should not be telling me I got a hit.
Good luck learning Nurse, or dealing with stealthy genrushers as Slinger, and with Spirit who cannot even hear footsteps in phase right now.
