  • DC can be countered by just chasing down the target again. . . Come on people it's not hard, and you even get chase points for it!

Currently DC is a waste of a perk slot because it's a one off single use through away perk.

Once this killer hand-holding nerf goes live it will only turn Survivors onto better perks they should be taking over DC anyway so it'll just focus the Killer /crybaby brigade onto those and inevitably get them nerfed too.

It's all a part of the greater plan of turning dbd into an empty lobby simulator with a screen with big text saying "You Win! - and in small print: "because your a special snowflake"

On the subject of actual toxic stuff that's eating away at the game from within, when's BBQ Cheese getting nerfed again? oh wait it isn't because the special snowflake killer /crybaby brigade would burn down the forum with their tears of napalm I forgot about that one.

Yes there is, unbeatable Killer strategy: tape keyboard to face + bash mouse with head = profit

Yeah nerfing DS will just make Survivors stronger in the long run. Thankfully the perks that are really useful go mostly under the radar because their passive or the effects they have don't give off as big a hint as DS. So long as the /crybaby brigade don't figure out which ones they are should be all good.

You're telling me that we should keep these kind of training wheels in game so the survivor population don't even have to learn being good while still being able to do well.
What about the ones who still get good and have all these crutchs at disposal ?

    Sounds like good game design.

    No.

    Good !

You're fine then, if you don't used this extra-life perk anyway.

Imagine someone playing the strongest side while still keeping these kind of training wheels, silly huh ?

Nothing new there, just another perk Killers /criend about to get nerfed. (and because of the dev/Killer hand-holding trend it of cause gets nerfed)

Salty that your hand holding toxic crutsh finally get removed ?

No more free extra lifes, you now need to "work" a bit to win .

Bring it on, I don't use it because my Survivor builds have far more useful perks that last the whole match rather than a one off, single use perk that only extends the chase. because any Killer worth their 'Salt' just chase goes and chases them down and picks them up again anyway?

^re-claiming the word 'Salt' one lame, over-used, regurgitated meme at a time.

  • Nothing new there, just another perk Killers /criend about to get nerfed. (and because of the dev/Killer hand-holding trend it of cause gets nerfed)

It's funny because this will just turn Survivors on to far better perks which Killers will then inevitably /cry about for more nerfs (because that's what Killers do).which in turn will get nerfed in the patch after that.

    Wash, wince and repeat.

Uh-Uh, because it's a lame crutch that only bad killers use, and it hurts my feelings because it makes it harder to escape and I don't want to waste time breaking useless totems, REEEE

Nobody respects killers who use it because of how broken and crutchey it is. No self respecting killer uses it for this reason alone.

  • Odd, usually there's a hook every 3 steps.

  • BBQ Cheese is a toxic easy-mode crutch that just saps all the joy from the game. A perfect example of the special snowflake Killer hand-holding epidemic plaguing this game.

  • I don't actually use DS but for the people who do this is going to detract from its practical use and more importantly FUN (because the goal of a game is to have fun right behaviour? RIGHT?) lol.

DS is a one off, single use through away perk. Because of that it SHOULD be powerful. It doesn't need a nerf / re-work. If this goes live it'll just be another somewhat useful perk Survivors wont take because there's far better stuff out there. Stuff which Killers will inevitably /cry about and get nerfed as well (because that's what Killers do)

Bring it on, more easy-mode, hand-held, babied pandering for our special snowflake Killer community. lawl. so predictable.

What I want to know is when obviously OP crap that clearly needs a nerf like BBQ Cheese getting nerfed? Oh wait that would go against the Killer hand-holding business model behaviour has. Never mind then.

  • Let me guess, Decisive Strike nerf? once you successfully land a DC on Killer you end up in dying state crawling away from them?

Wouldn't surprise me, Killers cry so much about this ability that can only be used once per match, it makes sense that it should be powerful.

Bring it on, DC is a crutch anyway and I never use it. Far more important perks to use than a one off through away perk that just ends up taking space for better perks.

Where is a big nerd for survivors that was not a quality of life and when the killer begin to be easy mode ?

    Killer has always been easy-mode.

Except Freddy, only Killer that deserves any semblance of respect.

  • Well yeah, every Multiplayer game needs an easy-mode, hand-held, babied crutch class. Oh wait no that's Single Player games, yeah babying special snowflakes doesn't work in Multiplayer games instead it just alienates the entire community till the game dies that's right! sorry I forgot that one.

  • Killer = easy-mode, hand-held, babied, special snowflake classes that constantly cries for Killer buffs and Survivor nerfs (and gets them each and every patch) Nothing new there.

  • I'd liquidate DBD and put the money into making Eternal Crusade the fully realized open world epic 40k mmo it was always meant to be.

  • A good rule for life in general: "The one who finishes having had the most fun wins"

Oh wait whats this then? Killer DC's? No! really?

^and on Myres easy-mode too no less. For shame!

In my opinion no one should dc. I get my arse beat semi regularly if I am up against a team of coordinated survivors.

Besides, this is about when a survivor dcs against certain killers because of their own entitlements. We have no idea of the circumstances that occured in the image you presented us with so your argument is invalid.

Of course with the reputation you have, you won't bother to see my reasoning.

If the Myers had dced for no reason other then 'Survivors keep stunning me or t-bagging me' then yes, that is a sad Myers.

Not quite sure why everything on this forum has to turn into a personal attack but ok.

We just kept rescuing each other and poping gens = Killer DC

Non face camp = 100% blood point gain

    Problem solved.

In the probably fifteen hundred hours minimum I've put into the game on Xbox and as someone who hits rank one on both sides routinely, the main difference I have found is your typical survivor is infinitely more likely to be a salty or cocky little douche after a match.

The amount of times I've been messaged as a killer from someone either butt hurt that they lost, or being a toxic little **** about escaping, is countless. At the same time, I rarely, rarely ever get a message from a killer about anything negative, or any kind of gloating. 99% of the time it's just a "gg", and the rest of the time it's a killer who has "beef" with me.

And that's just after the game. In game, yikes. Pointing after vaults. Teabagging at pallets. Teabagging at exits. What's the killer alternative here... shaking their head at the hook? Again, very rare.

Bad sportsmanship sucks, and it's 4 times more likely to happen on Survivor because there are 4 times as many Survivors than Killers in the match.

It's also less likely to happen on Killer because, speaking from my own experience here I feel bad for killing my Survivor brethren that I was just working alongside a couple of matches ago and empathize with their plight.

Thats pretty much what I think it boils down to.

  • One simply does not talk about bad sportsmanlike activity, especially if you have proof of it because they might feel bad if their publicly shamed for their bad behaviour?

    That's some logic right there.

retaining items after a match is a reward for those that git gud. Be glad you even have it, since killers lose their addons regardless of match outcome.

And lets just have a quick fact / logic check on that:

Unless you have a White Ward, EVERYONE loses their item add-ons .

Survivors bring an item into match (Tool Box / Med Kit etc) and have a slim chance of leaving with it.

Killers bring an item into match (weapon) and leave with it every time by default regardless of their performance.

....what? Survivors don't lose addons to an item if they don't lose or use up the item. The only exception to that are addons that are intended to be used up, like insta heals or BNP.

Also define "Slim Chance." If you have a slim chance of surviving, that kinda goes back to the Git Gud clause, especially since survival rates are exceptionally higher at higher ranks.

The weapon comment is a strawman. Survivors enter the match with hands to throw pallets which killers can't do for some reason, so I guess that follows the same line of reasoning? Actually, that would be kinda hilarious if we had a killer who could throw pallets to stun survivors...

. . Well if we look at it from a non linear mind set:

A Killers version of a "Pallet", (being a persistent tool that is taken from match to match for both Survivor and Killer) is their unique abilities which they carry with them wherever they go. Survivor's of cause don't have that same portability with their pallets or windows because that would be silly.

Killers also have Bamboozle to use the environment against Survivors but that's getting a little too nuanced for this explanation of persistent tools.

And Survivors still don't get to take their version of a "weapon" with them (Tool Box / Flash Light etc) from match to match, but Killer does.

    • A minor inconvenience to Survivors. They'd still get an alert as to where it is once the last gen pops.

    • A minor convenience / inconvenience depending on how you look at it as a Killer. They won't know where the exit gates are as well so cant plan ahead.

    • A huge inconvenience for Trapper / Hag who in most situations won't be able to lay traps in time .

I'd give it a go on test server.

Killers bring an item into match (weapon) and leave with it every time by default regardless of their performance.

Well no that would require fair and consistent balance, oh no no NO we can't have that in a multiplayer game!

    lawl

  • Killer doesn't like the epic super rare offerings you saved just for that special occasion . . . DC and bye bye offerings.

  • I have crouch bound to my thumb mouse button, the microswitch on it is a bit buggy so sometimes it gets stuck in a spam loop.

Not everything is bad sportsmanship butt-dance. lawl.

    I need a new mouse.

  • Report for what? face camping is / tunneling is every killer's personal decision, focus one player and make sure they die on the hook leaving the rest to run gens and escape (if their smart and pay attention to the universal face camp hook dance)

And for social media really? what are they going to say. They'll just look like a bunch of cry babies who didn't get their win handed to them.

  • @MegMain98 said:

I had NO idea to crouch over the Hag’s traps or that flashlights destroyed them

I used to think you had to crouch next to Hag traps and brush them away somehow. I gave this theory up after the first attempt failed and just assumed you couldn't destroy them and can only sneak by them.

  • @Theluckyboi said:

The reason why your queues are long is because very few people play killer now. Each killer that stops playing is another 4 survivors who can't get a lobby. Your attitude makes you part of the problem.

I dunno I have problems getting matches as Killer, wait 10 minutes, give up and go survivor and instantly get a match. go figure.

  • If Survivors are doing this to me I'll just go afk, make a coffee, do something productive with my time like pick up a pencil and draw a masterpiece cartoon character, run it through Adobe Illustrator, come back and their still butt dancing I'll go and touch it up in Photoshop.

They want to waste their time that's all good with me I have far better things to do with my time

So, when you started to play this game a week ago, did the killers feel really strong? Don't worry, you will play another week and be here back to apologise.

Oh dear, let's see what else he they're wrong about!

Not quite sure why everyone keeps making 'it' about me, I just want the game to be fairly and consistently balanced. Maybe it's because they're just poorly programmed npc's with an even poorer quality set of repeating scripts.

  • Dull Key is useless without someone with a Map to find the hatch because it makes no sound to tell you where it is once the first Survivor has been killed and it becomes visible.

Too many variables required for it to be consistently useful. Defiantly not OP, more of a hindrance than anything, I'd take any other item over Dull Key all day every day.

    • Survivor looks in the general direction of Generator from half way across the zone which then proceeds to blow up, disintegrating entirely there by removing the possibility of repairing it for the duration of match.

    • Generator shrapnel then flings off in all directions and applies NOED one shot downed state to any survivor within eye shot of the now destroyed generator.

    • Killer then gets a lolly and a pony, a coupon and a pat on the back.

    Had a bad game?

No just bored of easymode. I'd like an actual challenge on Killer, one of the reasons I prefer Freddy.

If you want a proper hardmode, why not just play perkless without add-ons and leave it at that? Going around being a snarky douche-nugget towards others doesn't solve anything.

Sooo leave the easy-mode, babied Killer hand-holding in and just simulate balance by not using OP crap. Well I kind of do that already because I refuse to use any of the toxic OP crap Killers burned the forums to molten ash with their tears of napalm for.

I donno maybe I'm crazy but I'd rather have less hand-holding and more fairly balanced and consistent treatment of all classes across the board. You know, for the health, well being and future of the game.

  • People say their not having fun because of poorly implemented balance and the immediate response is to alienate them rather than listen because they are the future of the game. Remembering of cause that without them there is no game. Right.

@Bossgirl774 Rather than wait for fairly balanced and consistent game play which will never happen because /Killer hand-holding meta. Just play Killer and your gaming life will be immediately less stressful! =D

I recommend Myres. Easiest killer in game till you get the hang of Nurse blink muscle memory, at which point she becomes the easiest killer in game.

Freddy is not a good choice unless you want to troll, and / or challenge yourself. Best to play Survivor in that case.

  • Noed: =

    • 1 shot down for all 4 survivors

    Hatch: =

    • At least 2 Gens ** must ** be done
    • All 3 Survivors must be link dead / hooked till death / bled out / escaped through gates before it opens for the last Survivor only.
    • Must find hatch (damn near impossible unless you have a map with hatch add on)

So it's a bit different aye.

  • The entity's real purpose is to gather some real life psychopaths (one would like to hope that the majority are just normal people playing a game) into one space so they can live out their real life . . . anti social fantasies in the safety of a confined simulation. Hey if their doing their thing here it's better than in the real world right? lawl.

  • Simple, survivors that don't do anything and just wait for the gates / hatch to open leave the match with zero points.

  • Simple, less Killer hand-holding with more fairly and consistently balanced game mechanics all round for the long term health, well being and future of the game = less dc's.

  • In a game that's consistently and fairly balanced to be fun for all you shouldn't feel like you need to hold back for it to be fair. Yet this is how it is to be a Killer. It's a real shame too, it's what happens when the devs favor one class type over another because their bosses tell them that's where the profit margin lies.

So they forgo all sense of tactical nuance for an easy-mode in a multiplayer game, essentially the games tombstone. And why? just because one side of the game cries endlessly for killer buffs and survivor nerfs rather than for it to be fairly balanced for all, so all can enjoy the game.

  • Simple, just stop playing and either 1 of 2 things will happen:

    • One, the devs will panic and stop hand-holding killers and actually balance the game fairly so it's fun for all
    • Two, the devs will panic and continue to buff killers and nerf survivors like they always have from the beginning of time till the game resembles an empty lobby simulator and the doors to dbd close for good.

I have no problem with either scenario.
