  • This should go in the bug report section.

Also, exploiting means they do it on purpose. The word you are looking for is benefitting.

  • The only reason I'm not close to 50/50 is I only play survivors when the queue aren't too big.

Playing both roles helps you be better in general.

or just make them do the opposite of what they're doing now, make sure you don't play on one map, it's a lot healthier than current offerings every squads just spam coldwind and ormond

That is a great idea. Would you post a thread with that in the suggestions part of the forums?

Doesn't refusing/neglecting to discuss the ways she has counterplay just continue to further the narrative of her not having counterplay? I get that you're probably sick to death of talking about it, but even just a quick tl;dr is appreciated.

No, it has been discussed. A search on the forums will find many results. (On Youtube too.) I'm sure one of the usual suspects will write a whole page later. It's just too late in the night to do that now.

  • She has plenty weaknesses but it's takes time to learn them and be able to exploit them. (Less than to use her well enough to be dangerous) Her low kill rate is because she is difficult to use and good teams know how to beat her. (For the same skill level.)

I will not enumerate counters yet again as they have been repeated on many posts. I'm sure someone will give some of them though with, possibly, some video.

The one thing to do that beats about everything is to play her. It's true for every killer but since she is one of the special ones hands-on experience is best. The downside is that it takes a while to be able to do anything and most don't want to do that (complaining is easier).

I've just been called a god Nurse again. I'm not. What happened is that I went against a group that has very clearly less experience than me. (I got some downs just by walking and mind-gaming like an M1 killer.) When I go against a team of my level (in the 2k-3k hours range) and I'm labelled that way, it's just it was the one game that week where every little prediction was spot on and where I didn't miss a single blink.

    edit:

  • The only case where an option to concede would be acceptable is when every survivor still alive is either hooked at the 2nd stage or slugged without any chance getting up.

If the hatch is still an option, then maybe a vote could be requested and would need the absolute majority to pass.

I'm not sure how to handle a Mori. Maybe instead then the killer would get the aura of the survivors on the map and would have a minute to use it.

Every conceded bleed-out death would be considered a hook, maybe as many hooks left on that particular survivor (self-unhook etc).

    It's not an easy issue.

Like I said, watch the vod. I am not a good survivor, I do not claim to be, but games like this make me want to never play it. You don't have to 'fathom' it, you can watch it happen.

    What vod?

  • A survivor that I find to be excellent is "Cope". I've also watched him do that 1vs1 challenge against Otz. That legend had to come back to the killer because he managed make him lose track :).

Every person who claims or thinks they are the absolute best at something in a game have major ego issues.

    Do you have a point?

  • The DS stun lowered to 3 seconds is bad.

I'm not sure about the rest.

I used to see up to 3 every night when I was playing my main. Now I'm dodging suspicious profiles and more rare.

I'm pretty sure I played against some yesterday but for once I wasn't recording so I didn't bother.

I just spent 35ish minutes in a game. Our 3 stack had a random rage dc on first hook. Our 3rd got tunneled out of the game (was the next 3 hooks) freddy then hooked me twice, and proceeded to slug me, over and over because he wanted to mori my last teammate. My last teammate is MUCH better at surv than me. I was slugged NINE times that game. I would get up , he would run after my friend, he would lose the killer, freddy would come back, slug me again. Finally I bled out after being slugged, NINE times. You know how frustrating that is? We had no chance of gens, we had 2 done when our 3rd teammate went down (the random dc'd in the first 60 seconds of the game) so 'thriving to stay alive as long as possible' doesn't really make sense in this scenario. Let me bleed out so I can get out of this game and go next. 10 minutes on the ground/in freddys arms does nothing for game experience.

You bleed out in only a few minutes and you can wiggle out pretty fast. I can't fathom how that story works.

An unlockable mouse wheel is free, smooth rolling and can achieve those.

    Not many mouses have them.

They don't have the distinctive clicks while scrolling but run smooth and when you just spin them they continue rolling.

Which doesn't mean that there arent click bot programs. I run one myself when playing cookie clicker.

Edit: by the way i could probably write a speed click macro in some capacity in the Logitech gaming Software coming with their products.

I got one like this (one of the Proteus core serie) and unbinding the wheel and making it roll free gives indeed about 320 clicks per second(measured with software), but I couldn't do it an do anything else with the mouse. If I only do a nudge, it goes to about 120 per second.

I've tried to have more timed control for the start/stop and it seems doable.

That being said, the issue stands.

  • @burt0r said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3042640#Comment_3042640

It's not necessarily a third party Software.

Just needs a mouse with unlockable mouse wheel and bind left click to it and scroll.

I wasn't exaggerating stating 100 or so clicks per second. It seems a bit much for a wheel. I'm not speaking about the odd 10 or so per second.

  • @socalfusions said:

Lmao bro is crying about macro clickers when killers are camping/tunneling casual players out of the game and making them decide to drop the game entirely, bet he's still gonna cry about macros next update when killers got 10% better everything and casual solo que players get destroyed even more until none want to play the game anymore.

Not very good at compartmentalizing are you?

Now or in the next patch they get tunneled and/or a bleed-out. It's doesn't make using third party software to act like an ass more acceptable.

  • Let's wait for the next update first.

  • The hook being destroyed feels right (avoid abuse).

The real issue is book distribution.

Yesterday again on Midwich/Huntress : 3 downs on a corner of the map, only one hook close enough to them. Hooked one, slugged two, found and killed the fourth, one bleed-out. There would have been two but I found one back and gave hatch.

  • No, it kind of make me smile that he is willing to waste it. I'm gladly eating it. He'll probably get slugged though.

Three one play I'll tunnel without fail is a BT body block attempt. I'll wait just the right time and then it's good night my sweet prince good night.

  • Knowing his tricks makes him more manageable but to be fair the same can be said about every killer. (One of the many reasons good players play both roles)

So yes, I believe versing him isn't a walk in the park.

  • The noise is very annoying. It's not like putting a frequency limit would require much work.

The best change though would be to lose 1% or 2% charge with each click. That way would not affect normal players and the ones using some software to reach these speeds would only be annoying for a couple of seconds.

  • I suggest you play Spirit and see for yourself how ridiculous your statement sounds.

  • Is called empathy. Glyphs are a pain to find sometimes.

Although I have none for macro-clickers.

  • Sins ...

Systematically slugging pre-nerf OoO to death, is it a sin? Of course not.

As a killer, emphatically nodding to a bully who didn't plan I could simply let him die on a corner (hooking it was not an option) until he DCed, is it a sin? Hell no.

Oh, ... I know. And I'm not too proud of that one.

RPD, as a mid-tier killer (can't recall which one) I hear a Boon spawning at the top of the library and I see a survivor flee the scene. I'm naturally pretty annoyed and decided that snuffing his life would be a better alternative to looking for Boons on this bloody map. He didn't appear to be very experienced yet I've tunneled him out and finished the game normally. One survivor survived the trial. On the scoreboard, I could see no boon on my first victim. The one who got out was the culprit. I felt pretty bad tunneling the other guy 😔.

  • @Akumakaji said:

That might be a bit much, but for all the utility they bring, Boons are sometimes notoriously tough to find.

One thing that I would love would be if the global thunderclap of a completed boon were directional, ie it gave the killer a general idea in which direction the boon is, but doesn't show it in any way directly.

I think this would make boons much more interesting and a bit more tactical.

Directional I wouldn't mind, it would add a risk factor.

  • As much as I dislike the Boons, this would be way too much. Players usually learn the totem spots after a while so finding Boons shouldn't be a problem. (Given your forum registration date, I'm assuming you know them well enough.)

Additionally, general game sense should hint at the favorite (or most busted) spots survivors tend to use.

  • @Biscuits said:

The funny part is, if a killer is using wall hacks there is almost a 0% chance you will notice. Because of the amount of aura perks that exist, and the fact that they can just argue they were mind gaming.

People like to point out who easy it is to tell if a survivor is cheating, but if a killer cheats subtlety, you will never know.

It's more difficult but not 0% (not much more though). Cheater aren't the sharpest tools in the shed. They can perfectly well phone their wall-hack or be detected by a survivor's. (OoO, Alert, ...)

And? It's not incompatible with that statement.

  • Impressive.

Most of mine got wasted P3-ing killers I don't like, apparently for no good reason.

I wonder ... 8 times 2 times 50 levels of blood webs, how much did I lose for some yellow glitter I'll disable ... ^_^

I have posted my twitch account on here. I am a well-known streamer in Korea. On this server everyone acknowledges that nurse is Sagi (overpowered).

    Twitch: omansonion

On my account you can see I am very, very good at playing against Nurse, and playing as her. I can all but guarantee that I am better at both than those defending nurse in this thread.

So, I don't need to be explained to by players who think they know what they are talking about.

The speed boost, and animation bug, regardless of what has been said about it, will no doubt be changed. I can guarantee that.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3040900#Comment_3040900

You actually think it is only the same 5-6 people that don't like her......? Ha..

I don't see how a group agreeing to something together has any value. For a detailed explanation, you'll take a look at these things called "religions".

And no, you cannot guarantee the speed boost will be changed. You can hope for it. You can guess it may happen. It is, after all, possible that boost will be removed, even after the devs said it was working as intended. But guarantee it? It's called hubris.

I don't see how your experience in the game or your alleged skills (real or not doesn't matter one bit) are even remotely relevant on this particular topic. However, if you are really that good against Nurses, it clearly shows one doesn't need much experience playing her to verse her properly.

  • @WARW0LF said:

i don't understand how the devs could think the changes were good? they must be in their own little echo chamber bubble, we've been screaming for years about soloQ, camping and tunnelling and they don't do anything about it, it's almost like solo players don't exist to them, it's absymal playin this game alone, do the devs actually think it's fun!??

I've played solo queue in the PTB and it was fine. I've survived most of my games and OTR was really good (maybe too good). Overall I had fun.

One thing about echo chambers: maybe someone doesn't realize he is in one.

  • First, most maps are unbalanced one way or another but most maps are unbalanced against killers (If you don't believe me it's documented, out there, search it out). Map design is sometimes the first factor of the outcome of a match. (Is it corn maps who have the highest escape rate? I don't recall. They are certainly hard for Nurse.)

It's true Midwich is a strong Nurse map however it's not "auto loss". I'm decent with Nurse, to the point I now usually play with no perks (or only Franklin) and no add-ons and still get good games (As psychological warfare go, Franklin is pretty good). Yesterday I wanted to guarantee a pip so I've used a strong build instead. I was sent on Midwich so it looked pretty good for me. But in the end, the team was pretty smart (the one quality one needs when it's only about mind games) and I only got one kill, drat. It was pretty close though. Overall I lose maybe 10% of my Midwich games.

I almost never see a killer giving a map offering. Survivors on another hand always use the same offerings to go to broken maps. For a long time they were still Midwich offerings as they are bad for so many killers. It seems they've finally got the memo and now only The Game is sometimes offered (another awful map where Nurse, among a couple of others, works pretty fine).

  • I haven't got the displeasure to be grouped with AFK survivors very often. Sometimes someone starts the match one minute late but survivor queues are so long sometimes one might miss the sound cue of the start of the trial.

I did not think for one second someone would be so abjectly entitled and devoid of any consideration for his fellow teammate as to do that on purpose. Reading some of the comments of the thread, I guess I was wrong.

  • @Omans said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3040276#Comment_3040276

    ....what?

People can disagree with me all they want.

I'm making an observation that in this thread, and in every thread about nurse it is the same 5 or 6 people trying really hard to keep their OP toy from being nerfed.

Gotta respect the hustle. To an outside viewer or someone who doesn't play the game at a high level (like the devs) it might seem like opinions are split on the nurse. In reality it is a very small number of vocal defenders who are very loud in every thread.

You aren't seeing things for what they are. All these comments are doing is trying to explain to those who struggle what they are supposed to do to be better at the game. There are explanations about almost everything that needs to be known to verse a Nurse, every misconception, every outright lie or misinformation to discard. It often summarizes to playing her to try to get a clue and see it's not that easy against decent players (but that's hard and require to really want to be better). There are also all the comments of players who say how much they love versing her.

You'll also notice that most players, including Nurse players, seem to agree the speed boost of the range add-ons may be a bit too much. However it has also been hypothesized that the reason for that boost is that it's insignificant at low level and required to stand a chance at high level play, we don't know. (I don't believe that speed affects the outcome of a chase much, at any level, and I believe the speed boost shouldn't affect "normal" range jumps but I digress.)

And, and this is important, no one is naive enough to imagine that a bunch of crying will have an effect on the balance of the game.

19 pages of killer charms, 20 pages of survivor charms. It's nuts that there's not a charm inventory menu where we can hide charms we don't use so they're not cluttering up the customization area.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/332426/codes

As has been said, it's likely because there are already so many charms that the devs don't want to force players to have charms they may not want. It's a maple leaf, there are probably a lot of people who aren't interested.

I'll check the survivor side if I remember between two matches. I'm guessing it must be around the same value as killer, although I've purposefully tried to avoid the ugliest ones.

People already complain about how bloated their charms pages are and how much they don't like charms in general, I think if they got given more without their consent they'd go completely thermonuclear

  • Not a band-aid for the nerfs IMHO, but not a very strong incentive either.

I guess we'll see. Not everybody has the same "price".

  • As a survivor, you should always thrive to stay alive the longest possible time.

In a four-slug without survival option, it could be considered to give an instant-hook to everyone so nobody has to wait (in case the killer decides to let everybody cool down). It would discard any hope for hatch though.

In any other case, I don't see how it can work without being abused one way or another.

If a Nurse drops a survivor close to you, you don't have time to run out of her blink distance. I assume you are saying that you can.

True, but she has to know you are there (Infectious fright, granted) and then the choice would be grab & drop and chase (hence Starstruck) or chase (no Starstruck). Not all these situations are easy to escape (unless the survivor is top class) but not all are difficult either.

Putting these aside, Starstruck will surprise survivors once per team, at most (solos being teams of one), after that precautions can be taken to mitigate or deny its power.

The one moment Starstruck is really deadly is when it's a gen-grab followed by a hit. Survivors need to be pretty slow though.

As for everything, it's a question of experience and habit.

  • Maybe they are trying to evaluate how efficient some of these platforms are.

There is however always someone to post about these on the forums. (Which is good: I don't want to have anything to do with that Twitter cesspool.)

Against regular killer? yes. Against a killer who can teleport the entire starstruck distance and her ability attacks don't count as special attacks, so they one hit down? No.

How do you manage to be found 32m away from a Nurse who has grabbed someone and, presumably, dropped him immediately in order to chase you? Do you realize the time it takes to drop someone, charge the blink to full and jump in your general direction? What are you doing in the mean time?

That's interesting. You see no issue with camping remaining unchanged, while increasing repair times; some of the perks that help solo the most being nerfed into oblivion; faster killer action speeds; and less survivor distance being made after hits?

I didn't notice much difference compared to Live.

If anything, OTR was very helpful and DH wasn't an issue in practice. I was also using BT to extend the endurance.

Of course losing Spine Chill and Iron Will (on all my builds since forever) is kind of annoying but devastating? No, not that bad. I may change my tune after several serious games on Live though.

Do you ever play solo survivor? Or care for those who do?

It's all I do as survivor.

  • @GoshJosh said:

The good news is, you don't even need to play the PTB to understand how devastating some of the changes are. We all got brains.

    Changes, yes. Devastating?

Besides OTR that seems strong and maybe Overcharge (I didn't test it personally but went against it) I didn't see anything that looked "devastating".

  • This would assume one knows most killer and survivor mains.

I only know a few and they aren't immature. (Granted, I've discarded the immature ones pretty fast and I easily forget irrelevant individuals.)

Good players are good players, typically. They just understand the game eventually. At this point I may be a comp level blight. A pretty crazy nurse as well. But I'm also a pretty damn good nemmy, pinhead, demo. I just understand things about the game after 3k hours

Yes, one acquires game sense and that's worth a perk or two.

I was curious about the real numbers so I've checked. I was a bit off (more than a bit for Huntress)

Still, one can take a look and guess what killer someone is likely to perform better with.
