As a killer main, you seem to have went against a good team and loss. Can’t win the all, but stop complaining
-
You can’t win every game, that’s what I tell myself. You will get frustrated but the best thing we can do is just tell ourselves that we can’t win all games and that we can try winning the next one.

I feel like people will never not complain about DH because there are many elements just around the perk that make it frustrating for at least someone out there.
❎ You do not know who has it, and who does not have it, until their Exhaustion perk is revealed. Which just leads to this "just wait it out" even if it isnt there mindset.
❎ It has the ability to deny a down that you otherwise would have gotten, and unlike other Exhaustion perks, DH will always feel "cheap" to certain players.
❎ It does not matter how much you nerf the amount of times it can be used, people will still complain because the perk is "useable".
❎ It can create unfair situations. And even when the situation is fair, you will still have people throwing a hissy-fit over how the perk is unfair regardless of the situation.
I personally think the community is really overreacting to the DH changes, because it is either "over-nerfed" or "under-nerfed" depending on who you asked. You cannot please everyone, and this community is one tough crowd to please.
The main problem is dead Harding to pallets. There’s nothing you can do. If I swing that’s endurance. If I wait I get pallet stunned.

Twins doesn't get "demolished" by anything. Not even comp teams. You have no idea how to use the killer if you ever struggle this much with them.
Nice gaslighting. I have played twins since she came out, she’s one of my favorite killers, so I know how to play her.
she does get demolished by healing.
and I honestly would love to see the types of games you play as twins that you win a lot, would LOVE to see it. Less gaslighting more proof showing
-
The forums is so toxic, literally if I had a dollar for everytime someone gaslights you on this forums I could pay my bills off with it.
literally made me think I was going crazy
-
yeah tbh, the only reason I can see you using the cage is if there’s no way to avoid the flashlight saves, or you just need to hurry and hook (like a gen is about to be done)

I’m curious… you believe dead hard is unfair because it grants the survivor an extra health state correct? That’s what I’ve seen the majority of killer players say is the issue with it.
If that’s the case, do you also think it’s fair for killers to have perks/add-ons that give them the ability to insta-down survivors? I mean that essentially gives the killer the power to deny the survivor a health state. I’m talking about things like starstruck (if you get hit with starstruck on you, instant down) huntresses IRI heads that instantly down survivors, trappers add-on that is instantly downs a survivor who hit their trap, and then of course bubba and billy with their chainsaws, just to name a few examples.
Im curious how it’s seen as fair for killers to have these abilities that deny a health state but it’s not fair for survivors to have a perk that (IF they use it juuuust right) gives them an extra health state.
This isn’t an argument about the different between perks, add-ons or just basekit abilities. This is literally just asking about how it’s fair to give the killer the ability to deny a health state but not fair for survivors to add an extra health state if they’re skilled enough to use the perk accurately, assuming no lag or latency issues.
what exactly can you do to a survivor who dead hards to a pallet? If you wait you get pallet stunned. And if you swing they get a boost and endurance. It’s a lose lose, it’s unfair

I'd say at a causal level, this game currently leans towards Killers a bit.
I think if those Killers employ certain strats, the balance can tip a lot further.
Great. This game is not casual. You want to have fun with a completely wacky build? Good luck because you’re getting gen rushed

I believe the Pip system for survivors needs a rework for various reasons.
DEPIPPING (basically being penalized): This should ONLY occur if a player DC’s, goes AFK, dies on first hook, or does minimal interactions (ie. mostly hiding, never rescuing, etc)
Depipping should NEVER happen if a survivor is actively involved in chases, healing, rescuing, gen repair, ie. playing the game!
Tunneled survivors should never depip. Unless you can differentiate between someone intentionally wanting to be tunneled vs not. It’s not only unfair to be tunneled, but to depip because of it is pouring salt in the wound.
Sometimes killers are AFK, or not very good, and survivors have an easy game with minimal hooks/chases/healing, and depip anyway. That’s just wrong. Minimum of 0 pip.
Sometimes other survivors DC early (like a memeing SWF duo) which basically throws the match, and the remaining survivors depip. Again this is bad and very unfair. Minimum of 0 pip here.
Sometimes survivors go against certain killers like Plague where there won’t be much healing, yet plenty of other survivor interactions, yet don’t pip or maybe depip. Like me, who is just not good at looping or breaking chase. So I rely on heals to help me pip.
Also: I personally am tired of 0 pip when I get 20k+ to 30k+ BP as final score from being very interactive (heals, repairs, rescues, etc) but I don’t pip? 20k-30k BP final score should GUARANTEE a pip!
I enjoy pipping up every month as survivor (and killer) to Iri 1 for the 1 mil BP , but it’s a struggle on the survivor side because of so many weird matches where ppl DC , or killer is new and we have easy matches, yet I don’t pip or sometimes depip when it’s not my fault!
These and other annoying issues with the pip system prevent us from pipping up properly and fairly.
I believe I should pip up when:
- minimum of 1 gen worth of repairs
- minimum of (1-2) safe hook rescues
- minimum of (1-2) health states healed
I may have missed other issues but these are the more annoying and aggravating.
Wouldn’t everyone be in high MMR then?

The problem is that you don't know DBD is like hockey and only goals/kills count.
LMAO I remember that 😭😭 it was so dumb
-
So let me get this straight. You want killers to kill, but any method other than hooking, people want gone (slugging, camping, tunneling). But you don’t want the win condition to reflect hooks?
see now I’m confused by the community
-
@Pulsar said:
I think it's too late to change the win condition.
People have got it in their heads that a 4K is a win. It will be difficult to change that.
I’m pretty sure they are gonna notice when they start depipping back to low ranks.

Sensitivity is not everything and you will not come close to mouse movement even with the highest setting. Also performance/optimization on consoles is significantly worse and has been acknowledged by BHVR - they promised to address it back in the past but could sadly not deliver.
I play on console. And the only problems I have is the lag I get from being hit with sloppy butcher. I can still 360 no problem. Trickerster does get a little weird but there’s nothing we can do about that
-
There’s literally no difference between console and PC. Up your sensitivity if you need to
-
@Pulsar said:
Very significant nerf, imo.
It has a capped usage, requires a Safe Unhook and will be removed upon any activation.
Considering how often I see failed DH's and server rollback DH's, this feels like a very strong nerf.
Thoughts?
Good. That’s a good thing. Dead hard is finally a high risk high reward perk. All perks shouldn’t just be ez mode, if you get a good dead hard, you earned it
-
They need to change kills to hooks for win condition. Kill condition just makes killers want to tunnel and camp more to get someone out of the game immediately.
encouraging hooks will give more reasons not to camp or tunnel

Pain Resonance, Overcharge and Call of Brine should be one time use as well
Ok now you’re just crying to cry. 3 perks should be one time use over 1 perk??
-
If you’re a killer main, you’re pretty use to perks being destroyed (Pop, Ruin) so this chapter isn’t surprising.
but survivors never have a perk “destroyed”
iron will sure but it didn’t change the core gameplay. It’s just a tantrum for 2 weeks. I would stay off the forums for 2 weeks until their tantrum is done and they learn to adapt instead of complaining

Saying Dead Hard is dead has nothing to do with entitlement. If you think new Dead Hard is still good, then you're either a very inexperienced DBD player, haven't given the change some thought, or you're just a biased killer main.
ok we shall see if people will still pick dead hard. Then I’ll come back and message this comment just to see.
survivor mains said the old dead hard was dead after the change. It didn’t die. It changed again, I highly doubt it will die
-
At least they can still use dead hard. The chances of your save not being safe is harder to get thanks to the borrow time base kit.
people saying that dead hard is “dead” are literally just acting like babies. It’s not dead, it was reduced

I'll be literally going from only seeing the exit gates open 1-2 times for every 10 matches to probably never.
This is how you kill a game, I don't know who is making the final decisions up at BHVR but they definitely don't care about the survivor experience at all. It's almost comical how one sided this new patch is.
I'm uninstalling and never looking back, everyone said BHVR would be the one responsible for killing the game in the end, and here we are, we've reached that point.
Alright bye
-
Is this a troll post? As a killer main you’re just endorsing the survivors who say “they will go against SB or lithe now.”
don’t listen to this post, i can’t speak for everyone but I’d rather go against Sprint burst and lithe and smash hit than dead hard. Literally any exhaustion perk besides dead hard is fine
-
Just like you have every right to post what you think, so do we. So I’m gonna say it anyways.
You’re entitled.
her power is based on what survivors do. If you cleanse, she has her power. If you don’t cleanse, she’s an M1 Killer. How is that annoying when you have full control?

So when three generators pop in three minutes while the killer chases the first survivor they found in the match, what mistake did the killer make?
Playing killer I guess
-
If the symbol is like that, your ping is more than likely above 1000. It happens, killers that hit you a mile away, or survivors that run in place and then teleport across the map
-
It won’t directly effect tunneling but it will indirectly effect it.
also why punish killers instead of encouraging them to not tunnel. If the devs gave a better reason to not tunnel other than someone’s feelings, we would do it
-
What are you talking about?
-
Didn’t he say himself that the 80% win rate he got was because the survivors weren’t good? I’m pretty sure he said that he would need to tunnel against a coordinated survivor team

This was tested literally 5 or 6 years ago.
The game was actually extremely Survivor-sided then.
It should be tested again today. Maybe it results in the same, maybe it's a viable solution. Th game is so different now that I think it's worth testing it in a PTB, what harm could come from it?
Only if they buff killers along with it
-
I don’t think it made her stronger but it feels slightly the same. You can feel the fact your drones aren’t coming back as much, but the claw traps are the same, and the play style is the same.
she just needs an entire rework. I just can’t see her power working outside of 3 gen lock
-
Pig would have something like the Saw intro. It would be so cool
-
Not even surprised. Maybe they will come out with another simulator. Rolling my eyes

Here we go…
survivors abused that mechanic so no

This is EXTREMELY telling in regards to the community's perception on tunneling on BOTH sides.
While Otz obviously isn't an "average" DBD player, I think he is still comparable enough to be an efficient look at the player base.
Also, for further reading, Otz says he played around 60 games, with different killers, mostly using non-meta perks/addons. He also set a rule that prevented him from hooking a survivor twice in a row, which fully prevents him from tunneling.
- His 80% win rate is mostly indicative of his own skill, but this does have some weight when it comes to showing how killers do not have to tunnel EVERY game, specifically right off the bat at 5/4 gens. It's not like killers get sh*t-stomped if they don't tunnel for every game. Sometimes, it is a skill issue, and not the fault of the survivors if a killer is put into a position where they must tunnel to get ahead. There is a time and a place for tunneling, but its not like you'll 100% loose a 4k if you don't (at least in scenarios where a killer isn't at extreme risk like at 5 gens remaining and such).
- The fact that survivors still told him he "tunneled" after he specifically did not hook the same person two hooks in a row is absurd, and is something a chunk survivor player base needs to wake up to. If a killer does not go for, down, and hook a survivor who just got unhooked immediately, they did NOT tunnel. That is not what tunneling is, and it's insane that people think that what Otz did in a lot of scenarios is tunneling. I see the accusations of tunneling as sheer copium.
- As for people who want to be tunneled, that's fine, as some people just want chase interaction. Considering how boring gens are, I think that's understandable. I also don't think there's anything wrong with a killer giving what that survivor wants, or not. When a survivor begs to be tunneled and enter chase, its up to the killer to say yes or no, but the survivor can't turn around an sh*t on the killer for "tunneling" if they then go down. It's their fault they were the killer's next target.
- I have no thoughts on a team trying to prevent a killer from tunneling. Makes sense. 👍️
I mainly take issue with the first two points, as they poke holes in very prevalent opinions the community has. By "take issue" I don't mean I take issue with Otz's conclusions, I think they are apt based on his experiences, I mean I take issue with the opinions of the community.
There’s an easy fix to both tunneling and doing gens being boring. Add another objective. It would massively reduce the amount of tunneling

Of all the ways you could unnecessarily transform this into yet another annoying us-vs-them post this is among the most ridiculous; there's a whole buffet of reasons why this is a terrible comparison and just a terrible post to make.
First of all, "gen rushing" is so subjective compared to camping. How do you tell if someone's camping? the killer is hanging out near the hook blocking any potential unhooks. I defy you to come up with a definition for "gen rushing" that everyone will immediately and intuitively know, that can be used to classify every single instance of gameplay fairly and accurately.
Second, "camping" is neither necessary, nor conducive to advancing the killer's win condition (unless the survivors are bad or it's endgame and the killer has nothing else they can do). any reasonable definition of gen rushing requires survivors to do their one objective, the one and only thing that can give them more than a 1 out; work on gens.
Third, the idea that killer complaints are fewer or under-noticed or whatever is so wrong. Looking at the top page of general discussions, we have a bunch of threads that you could potentially interpret as being complaints. I'll give a rundown of the ones I saw when I loaded up the frontpage along with my summary of the complaint. i've been fairly judicious in defining what a complaint is, and classified this one as complaining even though it's more of an explanation. also, there's no value judgement on any of these complaints, many are quite valid.
5 threads complaining from survivor perspective only:
[this thread], "some killer players seem to want to torture others", "my teammates are idiots who don't understand their perks sometimes", "dead hard isn't that bad", "so there's this bug"
4 complaints from both roles:
"overall state of the game is miserable for both sides", "recent killer designs have been uninteresting", "more BP codes please", "bloodwebs still too slow"
12 complaints from killer perspective only:
"blight and nurse are the only viable killers", "why have only survivors gotten QoL updates", "i hate indoor maps as killer", "list of desired changes to make killers stronger", "i have no reason not to tunnel", "there are infinite looping spots in some maps", "quit hiding your prestige 100 survivor", "no longer enjoy the game, quitting", "so there's this bug", "starstruck should be base kit", "spine chill is overpowered", "dying light is too weak"
as you can see, there are more than twice as many killer-exclusive complaints as survivor-exclusive ones, and judging by the comments they're largely getting the same amount of attention. the idea that you don't hear killer complaints is silly.
So you thought you ate with that huh? Let me go ahead and shut this one down.
did you even read the links you sent. Well maybe you didn’t but I did. Let’s go read the survivor perspective complains such as “dead hard isn’t that bad”. If you ACTUALLY read it, people agree with OP, there are more people that agree with him and therefore justifies survivors.
let’s go to killer perspective. “Blight and nurse are the only viable killers” and what do you see? The next comment with more likes that disagrees. Do you not get it? We tend to agree with survivors more than killers. I keep going through the survivor perspective and killer perspective and see the same thing over and over.
and let’s not put words in my mouth. I never once made the “us vs them” argument. All I said was that why don’t people ever care about the killers fun. Yet you found a way to twist my words and make it sound like I said “only the killers fun should matter” plus I even agreed that camping and tunneling are boring to survivors. Read the reply again and it’s the FIRST thing.and I never said that killer complaints are fewer than survivors. I said people don’t care about the killers fun.
30 minute games are not fun with SM. But 2 minute games of gen rush aren’t fun either. Don’t try to sit here and justify that gen rushing is fun for killers because you have yet to say anything about how killers feel, yet I talked about how survivors find tunneling and camping boring. So you sound like a one trick pony. NEXT
-
@Pulsar said:
I don't think it's shutting them down, there's not really any skill involved.
It's more boring them to death.
I don’t really care about skill, you may care about skill a lot but I don’t let that define me

@Krazzik said:
I mean yeah just blatent facecamping, even if you're Bubba or infinite t3 Myers, is generally a bad idea and if the survivors do what they're supposed to do, will usually result in a 2 or 3 man out pretty easily.
The problem isn't that it's OP, the problem is that it just makes the game boring for all the survivors. The person on the hook doesn't get to actually play and basically only has 1 chase and then dies with barely any BP, and the other survivors just sit on gens all game and leave, again with fairly low BP.
I get that it’s boring, but why does nobody ever talk about what’s boring to killers?
it’s always “it’s boring to survivors” but it’s never “it’s boring to killers”. Gen rushing for an example is boring to killers but people just say “pressure harder”

https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3377197#Comment_3377197
Hot take: the game shouldn't have gen defense perks, or ways to increase gen speed (besides doubling up with other survivors).
Did you ever think that tunneling and camping are a result to what you literally just said in your post. Solo survivors aren’t gonna gen rush as good as a SWF team. So yes, SWF would still be problematic.
and I’m telling you now, if they gave more incentives to spread hooks and not tunnel we wouldn’t do it. We are forced to sweat, that’s the cycle
-
@Grum said:
Playing survivor is miserable because every killer is more interested in immediately tunneling and camping (which they can now do freely with the DS nerf) someone out at the start of every match, and then dragging a match out forever with free and infinite regression. Never committing to any chase that they can't end in 10 seconds, because they can't stray too far from their gen kicking simulator. Then, there's the rapidly growing list of killers that have powers that deny looping outright.
Playing killer is miserable because, assuming the game doesn't match me with potatoes that aren't fun to interact with regardless, every survivor has been conditioned to crank gens as quickly as possible and then leave, since this is their primary defense against every killer tunneling, camping, and protecting a 3 gen every match. The current regression meta doesn't reward you for actually committing to chases and downing survivors, so playing for chases often leaves you feeling like you've been punished.
No one plays to have fun anymore. Every match is just so intense and exhausting; and if it's not intense and exhausting, it's just boring (and still exhausting).
On top of this, it feels like every year they remove more and more techs and diminish match variety further and further.
It just really blows.
Wow it’s almost like when we play killers that are not meta and we try a non meta build we get tbagged and Gen rushed. Sorry but no, SWF run this game, and the only way to beat it is to get someone out the game as soon as possible
-
Playing SM non 3 gens? So a normal basic M1 killer?
I just can’t see her drones being used in chases. You put the drone down, and the survivor just holds W.

@Skill_issue said:
remember they dont have the lethality of a nurse...they are m1 killers at heart
after playing most of the weekend against a variation of skull merchants and knights the way to beat the 3 gen situation is quite similar
1) use a good toolbox with bnp and prove thyself/tenacity/sprint burst/deja vu (hyperfocus if you are good or resilience if you want to work injured or circle of healing boon setup away from the 3 gens) and a large map offering if desired
2) dont do the first gen immediately look for a 3 gen and observe the killer see if they are doing a 3 gen set up a circle of healing boon meanwhile or store energy from another gen if possible (you wont lose it if they dont leave the 3 gen you wont get hit)
3)if the killer sets up a 3 gen then split up into pairs and attack the two furthest gens in the 3 gen. one person does the drone/leads the guard away the other person does the gen as efficiently as possible. when the killer comes to your gen, sprint burst away if you have to take a hit take it. using coms or even the survivor hud the other team can see when one survivor is in a chase.
4) break the 3 gen and marvel as either killer isnt as oppressive as you perceived it...yes i have done this mostly as a solo and even easier as a swf all weekend. not saying the matches will be quick but once the 3 gen is dealt with it really isnt so bad
what i find interesting about both of these killers is that they force survivors to change their gameplans and it seems hard for some people to adapt. before you say i have to change my perk/addon build out to accomodate 2 killers every killer has a different counter play (medkits useless vs a plague for example or its a legion split up and dont do gens together) that is the beauty of dbd
your thoughts?
So basically, you have to be in a very coordinated SWF to break a 3 gen. All you’re doing is showing how strong a 3 gen is and impossible to break as a solo survivor
-
We really don’t care what strategy you use both keep the same energy.
you shouldn’t be complaining about gen rushing or SWF
