Had a game where blight was just waiting for everyone to die and because I looped him for literally 4 gens he starts tunneling me and my teammates all took hits to not get me hooked but when I wiggled off his shoulder he had a thing to slow you down like crazy (which I think is a very stupid addon) so I got caught right away and then proceeds to knock everyone down
and instead of hooking me and my teammates he just waited for everyone to bleed out but proceeds to just hump my character until my death but I left cause I didn't really wanna wait around to bleed out as it's just a waste of time
Are we allowed to report players like this or is this really just allowed?
It’s 4 minutes until you bleed out. You aren’t being out there indefinitely, so no, the report won’t do anything

I hope you don’t carry this sentiment in every aspect of your life, this is an extremely selfish viewpoint of the world.
im not getting what’s so selfish about it. What’s so selfish that I want to play something like nurse or blight even though people don’t like that. Why is that selfish?
obviously BMing someone is terrible but this post was just to say to play what you want. So I shouldn’t play what I want?
-
That ain’t me though. I don’t care what the survivor/killer does. I don’t play to win

I just don't enjoy going against her no matter how she plays. I don't think 1 killer should get info on survivors all the time + haste + exposed + undetectable + being anti looper and 3 genner.
Sorry but no thank you!
This is proof you can’t please anyone. So play how you want because not everyone is going to be pleased no matter how nice you play
-
Here’s the thing.
most killers don’t care about winning, it’s just the ongoing toxicity at the end of the game. Aka survivors tbagging at exit gates, staying at the gate until the timer is almost at 0. Tbagging at hatch until you go up to them.
it happens every game is annoying.
i can’t say much about survivors since I’m still getting use to them

This game is currently insufferable and has been pretty much since the Knight came out when playing survivor. And the issue isn't really any particular killer or the game itself, but it's the community and I will stand behind that statement 100%
it's the "i don't care about your fun, I want my 4k, I'm going to play in the most "efficient" way possible attitude that the community has that makes this game ABSOLUTELY miserable to play. You can't just hop on and have fun anymore. everyone's "playing to win" and slugging for 4ks and tunneling people out of games for "efficiency" instead of just coming in with the mindset of "This is a game and I'm just going to go in for some good chases and what happens, happens."
Instead we get a nurse who kills 2 people, slugs the 3rd and then spends 3 minutes looking for the last survivor to get their 4k with 4 gens left instead of just letting the game in. And we get a singularity with iron grasp who carries your teammate to the basement, put pods around and inside shack, and then just goes into "sleep mode" in the basement and waits. Why? Just play the damn game and chase people instead of insisting on being boring. And if it was like 1 game a day, whatever. It was 2 hrs straight of boring game after boring game
“Im just gonna go in for some good chases, and what happens, happens”??? What?
what does that even mean? What are good chases for you? The survivor loops the killer endlessly? The killer end the chase in 2 seconds? Im not getting what’s a good chase to you.

If you had been DDoS'd, you would have lost all internet connection, and had to call your ISP to get your internet reset. When someone DDoS's you, they send a torrential tempest of data packets to your IP address to bog down and interrupt your service, and they don't stop sending those packets to that IP address even after you've lost all connection. The only way to get rid of it is to have your ISP change your IP address to a new one that isn't currently under a data packet siege.
In other words, you wouldn't even have internet access to ask this question, let alone be in the games lobby.
So then what happened? This is the first time this has ever happened to me in dbd
-
Buh bye
-
As for the AFK slugging, there should just be a surrender button that goes by majority, and if you decline then everyone who voted yes can leave and will be replaced by a bot, while the people who disagree can stay.
as for regular slugging, we have plenty of perks to counter this, so I don’t think it’s going away

just walking to the next generator to realise myers is look at you, you dont know for how much time
Because ghostface exist, it’s myers with more stealth.

They may very well be.
Or, they may not be.
High MMR certainly exists. The issue is that the MMR system isn't set-up like that. The matchmaker prioritizes speed over all else. High MMR lobbies are flukes, it's just as likely that you don't belong there and got backfilled into it.
Do you have any proof of this?
-
If you notice +3 gens have been popped and not a single injure occurred. You can bet the killer gave up and is probably in a corner or waiting at the exit gates
-
@Shroompy said:
I mean sure you can bring Lightborn, but I'd recommend actually learning how to deal with flashlights because they're really easy to counter.
Its probably the worst perk in the game, as the moment they realize you have Lightborn they just stop going for flashlight saves which means they'll just spend more time on gens. So now you wasted a perk slot on something you could of easily avoided by being more aware of your surroundings, or looking at a wall
It’s not so easy as you paint it. If that were the case then nobody would bring flashlights period.
survivors still bring flashlights because they are still good. And there are some scenarios where you can’t just look at a wall (Coldwind farm)
so the perk definitely isn’t useless
-
@Zaydin said:
So many survivors I run into seem less interested in playing the game and more interested in tormenting the Killer in some fashion. Constant flashlight blinds regardless of whether they are necessary, incessant teabagging, BM abound, etc.
Run lightborn. Trust me, I always run it and it’s made wonders. Even at level 1 it’s so useful
-
Maybe when you’re in the dream state, all survivor will look just like your character or all survivors will look like Freddy to you

@YukariTheAlpaca said:
So what is the killer supposed to do now? How do they gain pressure? By getting downs? Yea right, usually 2-3 gens pop by your first down anyways. EVEN if you manage to get a down before 2-3 gens pop, the remaining 3 survivors not on hooks (unless someone DC'd for some reason) will usually pop said gens shortly after hooking the survivor you managed to catch.
Camping someone secured pressure, that is why killers started to do it more and more ESPECIALLY after the stall nerfs. You think it is fun to camp survivors to death? No, it is not; it is boring. I want to go out and chase, but I also want to have a chance at winning the match and potentially getting 2-4 kills.
At the highest level of play, this is the smartest strategy to do, regardless of if it is fun for anyone. Killers do not have enough time to go for 12 hook games against survivors that want to actually do their main objective efficiently. Chase time has never been the issue for good killers, it is the game length that is the issue. The earlier you eliminate a survivor from the match, the more the match slows down for the killer to chase and get downs. It isn't rocket science; then again, no one said it was.
Lets look at this mathematically. You find the first survivor at the start of the match. You are a 115 M1 killer. This means that if said survivor starts running away as soon as they hear the TR, regardless of if they even have an exhaustion perk or use pallets/windows, it will take you upwards of 30-40 seconds or more to catch up and get one hit. The killer after hitting them needs to wipe their weapon, the survivor gains the short burst of speed, and now its another 20-30 seconds for that second hit. Add another 6 to 10 seconds to hook them, and you got a minimum of 56 seconds for one down.
With how little time remaining before gens start popping, this means the killer needs to find another survivor within 34 seconds or 3 gens pop (if you do find another in this time, congrats; now only 2 gens of the 5 needed will pop, with one other gen nearly completed). THIS IS ALL ASSUMING YOU FIND SOMEONE AS SOON AS THE MATCH STARTS. You start adding the fact that survivors will utilize pallets and windows after just running away for the maximum amount of time they can, and now it could take even longer to get a down.
I get it because I play survivor as well. I hate getting camped and tunneled, but I also know what it is like on the other side of the coin. There needs to be some way for the killer to get pressure and actually be encouraged, not forced, to leave the hook and go out to hunt other survivors.
I feel like the mechanic is going to be abused again. It sounds like the survivors can just loops around the hook and the person could unhook. I hope it actually pauses the meter, not just slow it down

Well not really, I have heavy problems with Lithe and SB.
Seems like you’re in the minority, most of us are perfectly fine with it. But by all means, if you would rather get dead harded than that’s on you

I’m jealous of all the PC players, the perks look so good 😭😭

stop trying to stir up drama because you’re bored. Most of us are perfectly fine with SB and lithe

It could just be a legendary skin for sadako
-
I perfer the sprint burst and lithe meta WAY more than dead hard. It’s so much better
-
Nemesis and spirit
-
I’m just hoping it’s not another resident evil chapter. I’m over it already, I want something newer
-
360ing and body blocking have been here since the beginning of the game, it’s not an exploit.
the only problem I have with body blocking are people that use the BT effect offensively to body block the person that saved them
-
The killer has to kill.
why would the killer play dumb and stupid instead of playing smart and efficient
-
his power is pretty balanced and interactive. It feels amazing to grab a survivor and it feels amazing when you dodge it. Both sides enjoy the gameplay, so of course wesker would be overplayed.
the only problem is that he’s played so much, if you go back to back going against him you might get a little bored of it
-
It should be early may, I just HOPE the killer they show is actually unique and has a different type of play style. Knight and SM flopped so hard

they want balance in their game
This will always be the cycle of least balanced to most.
solo < Killer < SWF
its always been like this and it always will be, the devs prioritize SWF and doesn’t prioritize solo enough.

I have a bit of a theory. Ever saw people complaining about more camping, tunneling, genrushing etc? I think it has a little bit to do how this community pretty much encourages the concept of "win" in Dead by Daylight and so many people are blindly following it.
The community has this made up rule that we all kinda accepted that "win = 3k or 4k" and the rest is a loss. So naturally, nobody likes losing, and what people will do is sweat their asses off every game and the alarming rate of killers saying they HAVE to camp and tunnel if they want to "win". There is no win condition in this game (you can argue survivors have one and that's to just escape, others might consider a win if they die and the others escape). This imaginary win condition is unhealthy for the community and really promotes unfun tactics in order to fulfill some imaginary thing that you'll likely to forget in 10 minutes. And winstreaks. I think winstreaks somehow made people who do it stress out about it unnecessarily and therefore applied more of said unfun tactics in their games just so they can say to someone "I won X amount of times", impressive, but Dead by Daylight does not even have a stats system yet, so why even bother?
I have a challenge for everyone reading this, including myself that I'm going to do in the next week or month, and maybe even do it permanently.
The challenge is: Try going for as many hooks as you can and don't worry about how many survivors you kill at the end (I'm obviously not saying don't kill anyone, just try going for as many hooks as you can. Me personally, when I was first starting the game, I was more excited about how many hooks I get instead of kills, I feel like it's more fun for both sides without having the fear of "losing")
Thoughts? Agree/Disagree? If so, tell why.
Thanks for reading
I made a post just like this. I find it interesting we get different responses, this post seems supportive of the idea of hooks over kills.
my post was just comments of: “we would have to call killers hookers so no”
-
It doesn’t work. They will still know who you are

I have a limited amount of time to play games, because I have a professional job and am not just a teen kid or whoever comprises the bulk of this community.
No one is going to force me to stay in a tedious 40-50 minute Dull Merchant game. No one.
Guess people are going to cry about it, though.
I’m pretty sure it was a joke fam

I'd rather go against DH, especially now lol
No Exhaustion perks during the first chase? Easily baited out on the 2nd chase? Can't do that with SB
Idk I play onryo the most, when I see someone use sprint burst I just teleport to someone else since they wasted it

What if this is the first killer with customized power? Instead of summoning spirits, you summon skeletons. How groovy would that be?
A customizable power is something I would love. Sometimes I wish we can just shake up the killers a bit but the add ons don’t really do much for me

Ever snce the new patch, I just can't find any fun anymore. If I play survivor, I just get immediately tunneled or left on the ground till I bleed out. My teammates have the iq of a brick and go for saves in killers faces, while they are injured and now that is yet another person needing saved. WHen I play killer, all I get are sweat squads with gen rush builds like Prove Thyself, Hyperfocus, and good toolboxes. And now slowdown perks are pretty much gutted and feel like they do nothing, so the game is pretty much over in two minutes no matter what i do. Wonder what went through the devs minds when they nerfed the last of the slowdown perks, and didn't even touch prove thyself and toolboxes. Oh, and chase are non existent no. Everyone just 99's their Sprint Burst and just hold W with massive distance gained between us and it is just no fun. I have been left to just playing bot matches because that is now the only way to have an enjoyable game that isn't over in two minutes.
Why don’t you just take a break from the game?

You can watch me mess around and be meme-y. I stopped being serious in the first game and the rest of the games were disappointing.
Nobody really struck me as being super good, especially when I wasn't even sweating.
Ok you’re actually good though. The survivors were potato tho but you’re good.
great game sense as well, knowing when to use your PR, you adapt quick.

I'm sure pulsar is a better than me on both ends but I can still see why someone would say killer feels easier. I just played this game as dredge and only played him one other time and secured a 4k. I made a lot of mistakes but playing other killers still helped me with this.
Although survivor can also feel pretty easy as well. I played this game not too long ago before the patch. Made some mistakes but largely it went well.
I’m sorry when I say this, and this isn’t directed towards you, but the survivors you’re going against are babies.
just from the first 2 minutes of the game starting:
~ Ash standing at the killer shack pallet instead of looping it (which it’s a safe loop)
~ At the Z wall, you didn’t even have to mind game and he automatically vaulted towards you.
~ pre dropped a pallet and got stuck on the bush
~ and while you were checking the outskirts and chasing the ash, it was about 2 minutes and not a single gen was done.

I think you’re forgetting her add one that remove skill check noises while in the drone. Pair that with overcharge and that’s some decent regression

It's been fairly easier, unfortunately.
PR is REALLY good. No Way Out is practically a free win.
I've seen a couple of CoH. They haven't really been an issue for me, which is pretty much what I thought. I haven't seen any successful DH's yet.
Survivor has become a bit more miserable for me. Less healing autonomy so I have to rely on my teammates more, which is never a good thing lol
I really would love to seem some gameplay clips of your matches. You make these matches sound so easy, I just wanna see how it goes in your games
-
Have been using end game perks. Gens have been flying but there’s not much I can do unless I slug, tunnel or camp
-
I don’t like going against trapper. Looking at the floor all game isn’t really fun for me
-
They play a certain role because they enjoy it “either survivor or killer”
so unless their opinion is clearly biased like “survivors shouldn’t be able to have exhaustion perks”
or
”killers shouldn’t be able to kick gens”
nothing

You shouldn't need gen regression perks to play.
If there's a balance issue those perks are masking, it should be exposed and fixed.

As was said earlier, I just think gen rushing is less frequent, for the simple reason that it requires coordination, which lobbies generally don't have.
Any killer can tunnel to good results, not any survivor can organize a gen rush on their own (unless with toolbox/hyperfocus/stakeout, which requires a little bit of skill, not being tunneled, and decent teammates to pull off).
That being said, I wouldn't mind toolboxes getting the medkit treatment to reduce genrushing. I think perks are currently fair game, but removing interaction between Hyperfocus/toolbox and scrapping BNP would (probably) go a long way.
P.S. : Also, and I hate to be that person, one of your sentences reads that killers are having fun being genrushed. X)
I completely get it. I can see how tunneling and camping is seen more than gen rushing. Also fixed the typo, thank you! 😭
-
Face camping for killers, proxy camping is perfectly fine if you know another survivor is there. But being right in front of their face is a little dumb
for survivors, tbagging at exit gates, I really don’t care what most survivors and killers do, just don’t BM. So gen rushing, looping, slugging, tunneling, camping is fine
-
I want to start seeing some other data we never got to see. Like average time survivors are downed, how often are killers and survivors DC’ing and against what killer.
