Huh. When I was doing survivor matches the other day I didn't see a single Vecna.
I am, however, sick and tired of the Forgotten Ruins.
-
A lot of the hate for SM stems from her original kit upon her release rather than her rework which puts more emphasis on chases rather than defending generators.
People just don't want to change their opinions.

For the Beholder charm I guess you would need to purchase at least one full D&D outfit from the store(??).
The others may also be tied to specific outfits or will be distributed through other collaborations(?)
The Beholder charm is awarded by buying any of the non-Chapter D&D Collection character skins, meaning the Knight or Legion skin or one of the existing survivors.

Thank BHVR for nerfing all the gen regression/slowdown perks hard. Tunneling is now the most reliable way of slowing the survivors down.

What did they do that was against the rules? Why should they be punished? What moderation or rule enforcement needs to be done?
People winning games and still coming to the forum to complain. "They tried to torment me, but I still won the game, they should be punished for even DARING to interact with me".
The last member hid the remainder of the game. That falls under unsporting behavior due to not participating in normal gameplay. They hurt the solo queue player because they threw a tantrum.

The same reason that full health survivors can be yanked off generators or vaults.

Then you aren't using it correctly, I recommend watching people use it. There is currently no counter play.
There is counterplay; you just apparently aren't good enough.
Though I'm sure you have no problem with just how survivor sided the new map is; the portals allow legitimate infinte loops for survivors to use that screw over M1 Killers. There are too few hooks in the dungeon, making it easy to turn into a dead zone.
The only advantage the Killer has is that both gates are incredibly close to one another and even then you can't stop multiple survivors from opening both at once.

So in other words no matter what the survivor does, if you don't mess it up, you get a hit right? That's called a guaranteed hit brother. In the hands of a good killer Vecna can down someone nearly for free every 40 seconds. And that's with only 2 out of his 4 powers.
Yeah, it's not a guaranteed hit. I've used it and still had survivors outplay me and avoid the hit.
So drop the strawman argument and try a real one.

They won? They deserve to let you know in some capacity. They should be allowed time to cheer and dance together. They over came a challenge and are happy good for them. This is a PVP game and by nature a winner and losers will exist every match to ask the other team to not be happy and to celebrate is to steal the point of competition. I get in our current society it's frowned upon to be happy and celebrate success but healthy minded people can sympathize with the winners and losers and don't complain about either
Again, they are wasting my time being sore winners. They aren't cheering and dancing: They are tormenting the killer by trapping them in a game they lost unless the Killer comes to chase them out just so they can mock them to their faces and teabag on the way out.
Lingering in the exit gates too long or teabagging in the gates should cause the Entity to instantly kill any survivor in the gate area.

Peanits put up a post saying they were reverting the mage hand buff. As well as hitting the addon that caused the mage hand to be faster. They are also going to make it so the mage hand won't still work if Vecna is stunned.
And survivors wonder why the only Killers seen at high tier are Blight, Nurse, Artist and Spirit…
'cause their constant crying gets everyone else nerfed if they can't instantly win loops and chases against them.
-
Vecna is fine. People just aren't used to playing against him and haven't learned how to deal with his kit/addons.
Not stopping BHVR from hitting him with a knee jerk nerf just like they did with the Xeno and its tail strike.
BHVR is incredibly biased in survivors favor and bends over backwards to placate them.

Really cause camping and tunneling still happens in roughly 60%+ of my games. So survivors got nerfed with little to no adjustment to the meta of deleting one person.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3736240#Comment_3736240
A Vecna nerf has already been confirmed, he fits exactly what I am describing.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3736241#Comment_3736241
No meta perks to be found. Killers very often get a perk that can be slotted into the meta, survivors are lucky to see a meta perk once every 2 years.
Where was the nerf confirmed? Because the news section of the forum is complete garbage and hasn't seen a new post in a year.
-
I hate survivors who refuse to Just Leave as Killer. Most of the time it isn't to 'make altruism saves' or 'body block for friends' despite what survivor mains insist.
Most of the time it is being sore winners by waiting to teabag the Killer before rushing out the gate knowing the Killer can't stop them.
-
Only one of Vecnas perks isn't niche and that's Languid Touch. Even then, it is situational as it relies on survivors to be running exhaustion perks to get the most out of it and the one exhaustion perk it doesn't counter is Sprint Burst, one of the most used Exhaustion perks alongside Adrenaline.
His kit is fine IMO; Mage Hand takes timing to get right because if you lift it and you don't get a hit ASAP you just gave the survivor a free reset on the pallet to stun you with and if you block it too soon, it will wear off and the survivor will be able to drop it to either stun you or force you to either break it or go around it. FoTD is trivial to avoid being hit by just hitting CTRL or whatever the button on your controller is to crouch on the console versions. Dispelling Sphere is used as a tracking spell and negating the survivors magic items during a chase and flight is just used to close the gap and crossing a vault with it ends it immediately even if it was just cast.
-
@OrangeBear said:
Yes they already confirmed it. Time to pick up a pallet with mage hand reverted back to 0.5 seconds from 0.35 and range of mage hand reduced to 14m from 16m. Then they are also reworking the telekinesis ring add-on.
Oh good, BHVR performing knee jerk nerfs because survivor mains are crying up a storm. Just like the knee jerk nerf to the Xenos tail strike that was unneeded and killed its play rates because survivors cried about it.
Killers demonstrating repeatedly that Survivors have overpowered combos that Killers can't counter like BUP+FTP though? Takes BHVR a year, year and a half to nerf. Took them like 6 years to finally nerf DH from "Must have" to "Nice to have" too and a year and a half for them to nerf CoH when it was an infinite use medkit for the whole survivor team.
Not to mention they are refusing to touch how overpowered the portals are for survivors on the Forgotten ruins, being able to generate literal infinite loops out of them.

Your scapegoat of flashlights really doesn't matter when half the maps are just walls and all you have to do is turn your camera into them 😀
FR tho, I've seen it 5 out of the 9 games I've played today. I also take it you didn't read my post considering I said I'd rather go against 4 slowdown. Try reading the whole thing next time!
Tell that to all the times I have picked up a survivor facing a wall or tall obstacle and a survivor managed to blind me at what felt like a 90 degree angle to my left or right when the light wasn't even shining into my killers eyes.
-
@Choaron said:
Map has been on live servers for half a week now and you still can't remember the layout? No offense but that's a you issue here.
The map is still pretty bad for Killers, especially M1 Killers, thanks to the infinites the Portals create for survivors.
-
@albertoplus said:
The only problem i have with flashlights is that when you pick a survivor, you can just try to counter a possible blind by picking the survivor facing a wall, but that doesn't happen when breaking pallets for example. It has absolutely no counter.
And no, "bruh dont break it!" is not a valid counter.
Or you try to face a wall or high obstacle to make sure survivors can't blind you but because BHVR can't program hit boxes to save their lives, Survivors can blind you at 90-100 degree angles to your left or right.
-
It can be used to play mind games with survivor on Wesker; his terror radius is already the largest in the game and making it larger can make it hard for survivors to figure out if you are genuinely close or not.
Plus it means he can get more mileage out of perks like Starstruck.

Given BHVRs bias when it comes to balance, I doubt it will take long. Meanwhile it took them like a year or two to finally nerf the overpowered Buckle-Up + For the People combo that Killers couldn't counter.
-
@Gmoore23 said:
Literally it isn't that deep. The perks are still decent, they just aren't as oppressive. Plus, this is a good way to try out builds that don't center on damaging gens.
Do tell, how was Pain Res oppressive? Maybe back in the day when it could be triggered as many times as you could hook survivors but it took a major nerf bat to the knees like a year ago and can only be triggered four times in one match and BHVR still reduced the regression from 25% to 20%. That's without them addressing Scourge Hook spawn RNG to make sure that hooks actually have a good spread around the map.
Pop was hit hard when it was reduced from total progress to current and still got nerfed hard from 30% to 20%. This being a perk that requires you to down a survivor, hook them and then find a generator worth kicking before the 45 second window to use it passes.
BHVRs reasoning for nerfing them, namely 'they were used to much' or 'they are too easy to activate' was incredibly bad faith given the number of heavily used and easy to activate survivor perks they didn't touch. Prove Thyself? Untouched. Built to Last? Untouched. Deliverance? Untouched. Distortion? Untouched. Off the Record? Untouched.
Need I remind you that the 'gen kick' meta survivors wouldn't stop crying about like a year or two ago lasted about all of six months before BHVR gutted gen kick perks. Meanwhile, Dead Hard was meta for like six years before it was finally switched from "Must have" to 'useful to have' and Circle of Healing went unnerfed for like a year and a half when it was an infinite use medkit for every survivor and forced Killers into a no-win situation; if you overcommitted to the chase to secure adown, the other survivors were working on generators. If you gave up the chase, the survivor would rush off to the CoH totem and heal up, meaning the entire chase was for nothing and the other survivors were working on generators uninterrupted.
With BHVRs balancing decisions, you can't exactly blame Killer mains for feeling like BHVR is biased against Killers. -

If any of the killers lived up to their full lore potential in DBD the games would end in like 2 minutes
Yes, I know Vecna has his powers restrained by the entity via the Mark of Negation. What does that have to do with my opinion on how I feel like dodging FotD should work?
-
@Shaddoll_Serpent said:
Not like any of the slowdowns nerfed are dead anyway. You'll be fine.
Their effectiveness is incredibly reduced. PainRes can only be used four times a match, is dependent on Scourge Hook spawn RNG and still had its regression nerfed from 25% to 20% for no reason. Pop, which requires you to get a down and hook a survivor and then find a generator worth kicking before the time limit runs out and was long ago nerfed to only regress based on current progress rather than totall was gutted and went from 30% to 20%.
Grim Embrace, which can only trigger four times per match, had the first three generator blocks reduced to ten seconds each because apparently 12 seconds was just too long for 36 total seconds of blocked generators.

@KA149108 said:
Why can't survivors see what killer they'll be facing in the lobby screen?
Because that would allow survivors to pick perks that hard counter the Killer. Knowing a survivor group is a SWF doesn't hard counter anything other than informing the Killer they are against a SWF.
If SWF mains are so terrified they would get constantly lobby dodged, maybe BHVR should give killers a +200-300% BP incentive to play against SWFs.
-
Both the Xeno and Chucky were in fairly good spots when they first came out. Both got hit hard by the nerf bat anyways; BHVR did the knee jerk nerf to the Xenos Tail Striker within like a week of its release because survivors wouldn't stop complaining about it.
Chucky got gutted as he now he can only Scamper during a Slice and Dice, meaning any vault is effectively a guaranteed escape for the survivor since Chucky can't turn hard enough to actually stay on them.
-
@Dream_Whisper said:
I would actually prefer being blind constantly with Flashlights squads over dealing with a immersive hiding and ge rushing squads any day.
I dislike playing games where I cannot get a single hook or kills, all because the Survivors swfs wants to end the game as fast as possible and leaving so soon. But it is also annoying to deal with Flashlights right out in the opening with no easy means to secure my pickup and I am forced to slug and secure enough slugging to ensure they back off. Being blind is constant annoying, but then again... Lightborn exist if you really despise Flashlights.
I don't bring Lightborn for just one flashlight; that's a waste of a perk slot. But inevitably the one turd who does have a FL is a troll who uses it at every opportunity and farms BP off constantly blinding you. I once got chain blinded three times in a row by the same guy because I couldn't see what was in front of me and the survivor was always in position to blind me again.
-
@Xernoton said:
Lobby dodging should be highly discouraged. It messes with matchmaking and also artificially increases queue times. SWFs have as much of a right to play this game as everyone else. Also just because someone plays in a SWF that doesn't mean they suddenly turn into a professional basement dweller.
Chances are you play against more SWFs than you think and mostly don't notice any difference. But SWFs have a pretty bad reputation because many killer players find it easier to cope when claiming everyone they lose to clearly plays in a SWF.
And I have a right to know the survivors have an advantage that I cannot counter, voice comms, and a right to decide if I want to play against people with an unfair advantage.SWF win rates might not be much higher than solo queue (or so BHVR said and I take their word with massive mounds of salts) but it's miserable to play against SWFs regardless.
@Shaddoll_Serpent said:
"Of course I know what SWF mains will say: "If you did that, no Killer would every play against a SWF!".
You just answered your own question.
Yeah, because it's the same argument I always see SWFs use to argue against anything that could provide Killers info that they are at a disadvantage.
The bad faith comparison SWF mains make is 'well why can't we see who the Killer is in matches'? Because that would allow SWFs to directly counter the Killers base kit. Going against the Doctor? Bring Calm Spirit. Going against the Plague? Bring things like No Mither or Resilience. Going against M1 Killers? Bring chase works since most of the M1 killers are incredibly weak.
I find SWFs to be miserable to play against. I don't expect to win every match but to get stomped by a highly coordinated SWF and you feel helpless to do anything the entire time? That just makes me want to quit.
Oh, about to get your first down? A SWF member rushes over and bodyblocks and sandbags you so you can't get the down. Oh, you got your first down? SWF rushes over with a flashlight, flash bang or sabos the nearest hook to you. Give up the chase because it's clear you're wasting your time? The SWF rushes over to quickly patch up the injured survivor meaning you spent your time in case for absolutely nothing.
-
It's still kind of absurd that Vecnas signature spell/ability from the tabletop which required a DC22 save, apparently, can be avoided just by crouching. IMO it should be able to hit while crouched, making the real counter play to it spotting the gaps between the skeletons and getting in them to avoid it. Make it take some actual skill to dodge.
The most use I've gotten out of FotD so far is with the addon revealing the aura of survivors that are near misses.
-
@Pulsar said:
Killers were gonna tunnel anyway, don't act like gen regression stopped anyone lol
You could give most of those players a perk that added another gen to the Trial every time they hooked someone and they'd still say that Survivors are OP and they'd still tunnel
Because tunneling is the most effective method survivors have of increasing the pressure on the remaining survivors and lessening the pressure on themselves. Turning the match into 1v3 ASAP is important for any Killer.

Is it effective?
There are a ton of crows scattered around the maps that people don't realize are there. The one change I would make would be to make it so that it only activates during a chase rather than happening any time someone scares a crow since it goes on CD for 20 seconds when it gets triggered.

@Rickprado said:
Sorry to say this, but this map is trash.
The portals make infinities - you can't catch a survivor with an M1 killer if they "loop" going from one portal to another. Portals should have at least 3 seconds of "stun" when traversing through them because you can catch a smart survivor running from loop to loop.
If you don't have bamboozle, the survivor can vault the lower floor windows until they are entity blocked.
Really, how this map was approved to be implemented in the game?
Bare minimum should be that once you pass through one of the portals you can't use the other for like 30 seconds to a minute; give an 'arcane interference' debuff or something because yeah, those infinite's are infuriating and I have no idea how that got past testing.

Is old borgo gone ? Or is it like yamaoka and so with 2 iteration of the map ?
Shattered Square is still there. It's just no longer the only map in the Decimated Borgo realm and shares the Beef Tallow Mixture map offering with the Forgotten Ruins, much like Toba Landing and the Nostromo are part of the Dvarka Deepwood realm (Albeit with both maps having their own offerings) while the Garden of Joy and Greenville Square are part of the Withered Isle realm and are both included under the Ichorous Loam map offering.
-
Yeah. I am already sick of the new map. Especially those damn portals; they can effectively give a survivor a infinite loop. There needs to be a debuff that keeps them from using another portal for like 30 seconds to a minute.

Adrenaline was recently nerfed.

As for Exhaustion perks, Killers just got a good counter to most of them save for Sprint Burst and Adrenaline in the form of Languid Touch.

Why poor reasons ? you don't have the stats or bhvr reasoning, if killrates are too high there are 2 options, global killer nerfs which is not fun for gameplay or gen regression nerf
Their reasoning boiled down to 'They were used too much' or 'They were too easy to activate'.
Meanwhile, BHVR ignored all the survivor perks that are also "used too much" or are "too easy to activate" that you see a lot like Sprint Burst, Lithe, Adrenaline, etc.
