  • Same; I have eight unlocks but no progress towards milestones. Got the pieces from the first tome chapter: the bat shirt, open heart, little sweetie, buried candy along with stuff bought using Dark Trinkets, including Chewing Blade, Candy Breaker Blade, Huntress Werewolf and Scarecrow Jake.

  • Welp the bloody charm still isn't showing up for me despite being displayed as 'claimed' on both the BHVR website and on Twitch. Albeit Twitch keeps showing me a 'connect' button to click which gives me that weird microsoft login screen someone else mentioned.

  • They don't work on PC either.

I didn't really see that yet, but I agree that those perks hurt weaker killers more than others.

It's been a point I've seen brought up a lot; very strong killers with high mobility don't really care about MFT since they can catch up with survivors easily. Weaker ones, however, get hosed, especially those with no anti-loop or good chase abilities.

  • No. THe whole reason it's hidden is to keep SWFs from telling the rest of their group what perks and addons the Killer has when they die.

  • @caipt said:

we finally get another shackless map and the complaints are already rolling in...

Apparently survivors are helpless without multiple god pallets on the map.

Let's phrase it differently, why would anyone opt in with a lower tier killer? You would effectively kill killer variety then... You would face like 5-6 killers or some ridiculously good one tricks with 2k hours on huntress or something like that.

    It's just a terrible idea.

The current survivor meta combined with SWFs is already killing killer variety. Not unless MFT + Resi + Hope and broken combos like Buckle Up + FTP get nerfed hard.

Top tier killers like the Nurse and Blight don't care about MFT while it really hurts low tier M1 Killers.

  • @Seraphor said:

Is there any reason why any killer would opt in?

Substantial BP incentive bonuses, extra experience, Iri shards or Rift fragments.

  • @Yoshirama said:

People lose their win streak record and want to erase SWF from the planet lmao

I'm average at best. I just want to have fun in the game and not get stomped by sweat lords who then proceed to trash talk me in post game chat because I 'suck' when the reason they won was due to having an advantage I have zero counter to.

Information wins games and what does a full four man SWF on voice comms have? Effectively every information perk in the game.

  • Oh no, a map where skill in chases is actually important for survivors? That's awful. /s

  • @adaw0ng said:

Who would want to play against SWF if they can choose not to and just face solos? The queue times would be hell of a mess with not everybody being even full 4 SWF. Be serious and rational, please. Look for solutions and features to make solo Q the most similar to SWF, and not punishing people for playing a multiplayer videogame with their friends.

That would require huge nerfs to survivors to counter the uncounterable advantage the coordination comms give them. Disabling aura perks, SWFs having increased generator repair times per each member in the premade, etc.

SWF mains can't have it both mains, having a huge advantage over Killers while also insisting the game should be balanced around solo queue.

How many "bully" squads can anyone actually be facing? Around half of all survs are in a SWF but the vast majority are two mans, with threes and especially fours a very small percentage indeed.

If someone is in that fabled "very high MMR" they'd maybe get a stupidly skilled four-man more regularly, but everything is busted in that area and everyone knows this.

I agree with the others, this proposal would leave SWF never getting a trial, and wreak queue times all over.

SWFs aren't fun to play against. The game isn't balanced around them or the huge advantage they have over voice comms when it should be. SWF mains, however, insist on balancing around solo queue because they don't want to get nerfed.

  • @Seraphor said:

Is there any reason why any killer would opt in?

And therein is the rub: No sane killer would without massive BP incentives because playing against a full four man SWF isn't fun. I don't expect to get 4ks every match but matched against SWFs are never fun for me. It's always fun getting destroyed by survivors who have a massive advantage you have no counter for and then getting trash talked in the post game chat when they only won due to having an uncounterable advantage.

SWFs force killers to play sweaty.

It is already confirmed that killers lobby dodging is causing bad matchmaking. This would make it worse. But survivors are crying for no reason?

Yeah, because SWFs are miserable to play against and yet BHVR refuses to balance survivors around SWFs and SWF mains insist that survivors should be balanced around solo queue, not SWF despite SWFs being game breaking.

  • @Gandor said:

Show survivors their killer. At least this way it will be all of Wesker, Nurse, Blight, Spirit, Legion, Knight, Onryo and skull merchant that will have 1 hour long lobby - not just people that wish to play with their friends.

Horrendous idea. This would be one of those things that would get a shot at killing the game.

    Found the SWF main.

See, the problem with letting survivors see the Killer would make it trivial to counter them. Know you're against a Plague? Bring perks like MFT, Resilience, etc. Doctor? Bring Calm Spirit.

Knowing how many survivors in the lobby are in a premade doesn't give the killer an advantage over the survivor. You have no idea what perks they are running. All it does is allow the Killer to make an informed decision whether it's worth playing against four man SWF bully squads.

  • MMR is a non-functional joke that only exists so BHVR can say it exists.

  • Yep. If P100 players don't want to get lobby dodged they should have spent less time playing DbD and more time getting outside to touch grass.

To tag survivors with the biopods, you have to look at them in a circle in the center of the screen for a short time. But the camera controls with joysticks are absolutely terrible, and survivors are almost constantly moving, so tracking the camera on the survivor is trivial with the precision of a mouse but extremely clunky and frustrating with the clumsy swinging of a joystick camera. I go to nudge the stick to desperately follow a running survivor and it jumps six feet to the side of where they are.

Not to mention a single leaf in the way of a survivor can block the ability to tag them.

  • Because Hux takes too much work to get value out of his power when it is trivial for survivors to completely shut him down. If the survivors are half-competent your pods are almost constantly disabled and Slipstreams get removed before you get much value from them leaving Hux an M1 killer worse than the Trapper.

    "Who is actually playing Singularity?"

    people who like him?

I want to like him but his kit requires too much effort to get to use it and too little effort on the side of survivors to counter all that work.

They are comback perks, or perks that help you when in trouble. Both sides have perks like that.

NOED, Enduring, bitter murmur, coupe de grace... They all only activate by you not doing anything or by making mistakes.

It's not something new or unfair.

The only one of those Killer come-back perks that is any good is NOED and that both requires the gates to be powered and for survivors to not cleanse the totem.

MFT conditions to activate is just "Be injured" for a permanent speed boost.

  • @BlightedDolphin said:

As someone who plays a lot of Deathslinger, YES! You reload so much that Warden's Keys feels mandatory against a good team.

Even just making his brown reload add on base kit would be nice.

And then of course give him an add on pass as his add ons are all awful except the reload ones.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3512122#Comment_3512122

Misusing your power should be punishable, I agree, but Deathslinger's punishment is massively out of proportion to the strength and difficulty of his power. A single miss can cost you the entire game. And even if you land the shot, you still aren't guaranteed a hit. And if you do hit them you still need to reload.

Nurse and Blight have less punishment than him AND don't have to manually reload after each use.

God I tried playing the Slinger once recently without any reload addons to test out a different build and I never realized how agonizingly slow his base reload time had felt. I had always run at least one reload addon before then and will never take one out of my build no matter what going forward.

The Slinger never really recovered from the nerfs he got hit with that raised his terror radius up to 32 meters and made him ADS like he's afraid of breaking a hip without meaningful buffs to compensate. You pretty much needed to run that M&A build to snipe survivors who weren't paying attention off generators.

  • You know, the funny thing is that for all the times I've ended up with a three gen as Killer, it isn't because I forced it: it's because the survivors did it to themselves and if I dare to take advantage of the mistake they made they moan about it in post-game chat about me having no skill.

  • Like I said in my post above this, I have had multiple matches against Clowns who tunneled, camped, slugged or all three to secure a 4K to get the challenge done. The challenge might not be 'challenging' but the most efficient way of finishing it is miserable for survivors.

  • @GreyBigfoot said:

    I don't think a mere 4K is toxic imo.

But, I do have to wonder why they they decided to do that. In the past, there have been several times where challenges say "no survivor escapes through the exit gate" or "with no more than 1 survivor alive". In those instances, a 3K with the last getting hatch is enough to do the challenge.

If it was four kills over a number of trials it would have been fine. But in one trial? I've had multiple Clowns who tunneled, camped, slugged or all three to secure their 4K.

    That isn't fun.

I swear it sometimes feels like BHVR designed this game to generate as much toxicity as possible. I know that isn't the case but it's how it feels sometimes.

  • There is a reason I stopped playing nice as Killer; you get mocked and stomped on by the sweat lord SWF you are probably up against.

  • That's the thing: SBMM doesn't work. It's just there to say it's there.

This game is already incredibly rough for new players since you have no perks or any idea how the game actually plays. Being pitted against people with thousands of hours in the game early on is just blatantly unfair and more likely to get newcomers to quit the game rather than suffer through the painful slog that is starting the game.

  • Building for terror radius perks isn't a good idea on the Dredge because the Dredge does not have a terror radius during Nightfall. Which made it hilarious to me that two of its teachable perks are reliant on having a terror radius in the first place to work; Dissolution and Septic Touch.

  • We seriously need to penalize survivors who gen rush. Gen rushing puts a ton of stress on the killer and it forces the Killer to resort to tunneling and camping to remove survivors from the match to put pressure on the remaining survivors and make it harder for them to complete generators.

  • He's an extremely easily countered killer by any remotely competent group of survivors.

  • @Mandy said:

Made For This is something we are going to be monitoring, for right now we don't feel that it needs much change - it will continue to be monitored over the coming weeks.

So the Singularity, despite being easily countered, sees some of its best addons nerfed but Made For This, which can stack with Hope in the end game and get survivors to run at 110% speed, is just fine?

Do you play your own game? MFT bare minimum should shut off in the end game once the gates are powered or the hatch opens.

  • Be honest: Does BHVR have an idea how they want Killers to play at all?

Because it feels like when players come up with builds for a Killer that BHVR doesn't like or run counter to BHVRs design philosophy, the perks and addons necessary to make it work get nerfed hard.

See also: The old M&A Deathslinger build that gave you a very narrow window of stealth with the Redeemer. The build took a number of perks to make it work and BHVR nerfed him for no reason and has refused to undo the nerfs.

  • A good start would be monthly balance updates (Or more) instead of waiting every three months.

Putting a halt to the release of new maps, survivors and killers and do a serious Operation Health and do several patches focused solely on balancing and bug fixes.

I’m pretty certain Mandy has stated the game was created with the full intent to be a party game… plain and simple, what you’re asking will never be done. It would literally kill the game.

SWF does not = good team.

Then why did it launch without a party system?

And if BHVR won't limit SWFs to their own matchmaking pool, then they need to start balancing Survivors around the assumption that it's a four man SWF balance around that. If that means heavy survivor nerfs, so be it. SoloQ can thank SWFs for it.

  • @HugTechLover said:

“Let’s take away the ability for friends to play together on this multiplayer game. Everybody must play solo q.”

    I mean c’mon dude…

The game launched without a party system.

There's also the fact that most full 4-man SWFs are griefing sweatlords out to torment the Killer rather than play the game. If you aren't playing a high tier Killer running all top tier perks and addons, you don't stand a chance.

  • @JackOfTrades said:

    Sorry...no can do sir.

Nope, it can be done. Or they can be put into their own matchmaking pools that Killers can opt into for a 300-400% BP incentive.

Running a perk is only a short term solution for the 3 gen issue, we are looking for a longer term one.

The comment that you are replying to is quite correct in their assessment.

You know, the funny thing is that for how often survivors complain about three gens is that most of the time when a three gen occurs, it is because the survivors did it to themselves, not because I forced one.

If they can't learn map awareness that is their problem, not mine. If they are going to make a mistake like that I'd be a fool not to capitalize on it.

  • Ugh, double post.

  • If survivors want to avoid a three gen, run Deja Vu. No excuse anymore to get caught in a three gen with the buffs Deja Vu got.

  • @Pulsar said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3458325#Comment_3458325

    That's not a good idea.

Also, your specific frustration you listed will not be possible unless you allow it after the patch. Survivors will be Hindered by 10% whilst charging an EMP, which now takes a half second longer to charge.

This also nerfs just holding a charged EMP.

By the crates not automatically completing EMPs, I meant that they would get to like 75-80% completion and stop there, requiring survivors to have to spend time to finish the EMP, not ceasing automatic printing all together. Possibly reduce the speed bonus from manual printing from where it is now... which I think is like four times faster to maybe 3x or 2x.

  • @CorvusCorax86 said:

Introducing something new, something different from the usual. And they succeeded as Singularity is not a regular M1 killer.

Oh yeah, he's a lot of fun... when you can use his kit. But competent survivors can shut it down 90% of the time leaving you worse than the Skull Merchant who at least gets benefits when survivors hack her Drones.

I'm still not entirely convinced the EMP nerfs will be enough to deal with it. Feels like there are a number of other changes they should make to EMPs beyond what is already planned like the boxes ceasing to automatically print new ones to completion after a certain point in the trial, forcing survivors to spend time to deliberately finish them. As it is I have managed to get the work in and tag a survivor with a Slipstream only for them to literally pause mid-chase to grab an EMP from an open crate and use it to remove the Slipstream.

  • @uganda_calm said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3455150#Comment_3455150

i think the increased charge time is unnecessary but the rest is strong.

I would suggestion to make it so if all survivors hold a EMP that the crates should stop to produce and start to regress. This way the EMPs need to be used more tactically and survivors are motivated to use them faster.

Not sure about the regression but not producing a new EMP until the one it created is used would be balanced IMO. Another thought is that after like five minutes the crates stop completing the EMPs and stop at 75-80% and survivors have to manually finish remaining 20-25%.

  • So do we have any idea when the hotfix is going to go live?

  • Generally speaking it is faster to just destroy and replace EMPed Biopods than waiting on them to reboot. And once you get used to firing biopods in a chase to tag survivors Hux has very good chase potential, having built in Brutal Strength, Spirit Fury, Enduring and Superior Anatomy while Overclocked.

Yeah the EMP are overturned right now but BHVR is already planning on nerfing them in a hot fix soon. We just do not know when it will be deployed.

Given you've taken this chance to advertise yourself, I thought of checking out your content to see that TTV you were talking about, but instead I ended up arching a brow.

I mean you could answer the question yourself. Why do you call SWF's that act cheeky 'cheaters' in endgame chat? Why do you DC in a game you're losing and writing 'Gen rushers' as if it was a negative? Why do you report people for waiting for you at the gates under the guise of hostage taking when the game will inevitably end soon with EGC? All of this behaviour is pure salt due to bad experiences.

There are very unpleasant TTV's that definitely overdo it, but given your own not-so-positive habits, that could've been answered easily with some introspection.

You've never seen a hypocrite before? Yes I know I should live by my own advice and not get so salty but it's easier said than done sometimes, especially in the heat of a match or just after when your emotions are still likely running high, particularly if it was a bad match.

Especially when you're playing as Killer against either a full SWF or survivors so coordinated you swear they are a SWF just for them to all be competent survivors. You're struggling to get anything done and get a single kill to salvage a bad match, it starts feeling like they are just yanking your chain and almost inevitably when the gates are opened they refuse to leave and instead wait in the gates until I show up so they can tea bag me. Just leave FFS; you won. Leave so I can move onto my next match.

The last bit above is why if I'm either playing survivor with friends or giving advice to a friend who is starting out, aside from warning them that DbD is rough when you are new, is to just leave if you can. There are few reasons to stick around once the gates are open. The only time I stick around is if a friend is still in the match heading for the gates and might need a body block to get out. That's the only time I will stick around; even then, if someone gets downed and NOED is in play I usually apologize in comms and just get out.

This match though? I wasn't playing toxically as Killer. I wasn't tunneling, slugging, camping or the like. I would walk off after getting someone unhooked and if someone got unhooked while I was still nearby, I would return to the hook. Since I was playing the Singularity, I'd generally put enough distance between me and the hook to view my cameras without triggering the anti-camping delay that kicks in when returning to the main body.

Yeah I'm trying to play fair but I'm not going to play dumb either and since the Singularity is undetectable while checking its cameras, they probably figured I was further away than I was. If person who just got unhooked is the first one I run into on my way back, that's just bad luck on their part. So not sure what exactly I did to tilt this other streamer beyond "I killed him with a Killer/perk combo he didn't like".
