I'm getting the same issue. Tells me it's invalid and then it says the code can't be redeemed due to a server issue and to try again later.
Edit: Literally just as I posted this I got a new email with a code for the banner and it worked this time.

I for one am glad that we finally have a tall female character, breaking with the dichotomy that all women must be short and all men tall (waiting for a short make character now).
That said, I can understand why having male rigging on a female "frame" can be a little odd. I personally don't mind, she feels nice to play to me even if I'm not visually a big fan.
Part of it simply that Aestri doesn't really line up with how elves are usually portrayed in D&D thanks to sharing the male skeleton and its associated animation set.

Hook screams in general need to be toned down or at least have an option for it. We shouldn't have to Shift+Tab at every instance of hooking.
Aestri is particularly bad.

Every use? Not been my experience. It tends to be about 50/50 if the survivor knows what they are doing.

That would just drop the killrates and lead to killer nerfs
Killers get nerfed no matter what: See also the unnecessary Pop, PainRes, Deadlock and Grim Embrace nerfs which BHVR gave extremely poor reasons to justify it.
-
Meanwhile, the few remaining viable Killer regression perks got hit with the nerf bat for poor reasons.
-
How about rather than buffing solo queue, SWFs get nerfed instead.

Ah, i misinterpreted it as "it gets broken" as in, the iri makes it OP, not that it "physically breaks the pallet"
Oh one of his Iris, the Vorpral Sword, does break the pallet but it takes three seconds to do so, which, IIRC, is longer than the normal break animation.
-
Yes, because SWFs could communicate what Perks the Killer has to their friends and give their unfair advantage of voice comms an even bigger advantage over the Killer by knowing exactly what perks and addons they are using.

Weave Attunement literally warns survivors their aura is being revealed. I don’t think that should be a thing.
Languid Touch is a good perk.
Dark Arrogance is okay since they buffed it to 25%, that gives it enough situations where it can be worth over Bamboozle (though Bamboozle is probably still better on most killers). I don’t think the longer stun/blind is a big deal.
Dark Arrogance would probably pair well with Bamboozle if the vault speed increase stacks.

Only in a corner or something where they have nowhere to run to. But the iri addon takes longer to break than just breaking the pallet. So its not really good for that either.
Like I said, if you fail to land a hit quickly after using Mage Hand, you just gave the Survivor a free Any Means Necessary reset on the pallet.
-
@WittyDreamer said:
I don't think it actually needs a change, don't survivors have a chance of getting an item that counters this?
Yes. And it also means they can drop the pallet again if Vecna can't land a hit. Only way it gets broken is if you use an Iri addon.
-
I wonder if using the female skeleton for Aestri and the male one for what's his name was too much work for them. You'd think they could have tied it to the head/torso cosmetic equipped 'cause yeah, it kind of hits the uncanny valley.
Unlikely to ever get changed though knowing BHVR.

I remind you that we are in 2024 and not in 2019. with some exceptions ( killer like Trapper or map like "The Game"), maps are smaller, the number of pallets is decidedly fewer and less safe, killers are more oppressive and there are perks like Pop and PainRES practically everywhere…You must evaluate the gameplay as a whole, and not consider just one aspect of the game (generator repair time). "official" statistics are very clear... the game is quite balanced, slightly favoring the killer. The second change after a hypothetical increase time to repair generators, would be to nerf Nurse, Blight and Billy.... and I don't think anyone would be happy with this
Funny you mention Pop and Pain Res: They are getting nerfed today.
And they are everywhere because they are just about the only viable regression perks left after survivors complaining got all the others nerfed.
Meanwhile, survivors are slamming generators faster than ever with no nerfs to their ability to gen rush.

But that addon combination is trash, just hop in a locker or spam vault a pallet or literally just sit on a generator and he cannot mori you.
Sure it gets tougher, but it is so easy to force him into the down and it takes ages, you will lose 3 gens until you even get t3... Winning or even getting the achievement is so hard with that...
It will say however that I think the addons should be reworked because the gameplay is not really engaging, but winning against it really is not an issue.
The example I used in the OP wasn't a hypothetical: The other survivors were morons and 'memeed' with the killer at the start of the match and fed him Evil Within progress. We only got one generator done.
-
@Archol123 said:

Infinite tier 3 is using the iri Tuft of Hair add-on.
And Infinite Tombstone is playing with both iri add-on s
Right, Infinite Tombstone. That's what I meant; I'm out of it

Yes, they need to be brought back to at least 90 seconds with how quickly survivors can slam them out, especially with all the nerfs regression perks have been hit with.

To be fair, at no point do you have to get stunned by DS. You're always making the active choice to pick up someone you know was unhooked recently in those scenarios, and you could actively choose to ignore them instead.
You're always opting in to letting survivors bully you with DS. Just don't do that, lol.
They were a bully duo working together to engineer the plays.

The game already encourages lobby shopping when you see a full group of survivors with flashlights, medkits or toolboxes.

Lobby dodging. It's as simple as that.
So I should be forced to play rigged games then? Because a full SWF has the game rigged in their favor.

So how about letting it show in the endgame lobby? No reason to see it in the pregame lobby or as you said with survivors, killers can also just change their builds. That's if they don't lobby dodge for an easier game.
It's the same reason: If a member of a premade dies and they can see the Killers perks or addons, they can tell the others what the Killer has and allow them to hard counter them without figuring them out themselves.
Killers can't see survivors perks until the end of the match, either.

If Killers get to see who or how many are in a SWF. Then Survivors should be able to know who the Killer is in lobby as well.
Good luck being able to play the game though with Killer dodging SFW stacks and Survivors dodging unliked Killers.
Yeah, the problem with that is that knowing what Killer you are playing against means you can literally tailor your build to hard counter the Killer. That's why survivors don't see who the Killer is.
All Killers seeing how many survivors in a lobby are in a premade does is tell them how many are in a premade. It is information that does not give the Killer an advantage over survivors.
-
It's almost like SWFs aren't fun to play against as the game is rigged in their favor due to how broken having the ability to coordinate over voice comms is.

No. Let me rephrase the question: Pain Res regresses the most progressed gen, but what happens if the most progressed gen is currently blocked by Deadlock? Will it search for the second most progressed gen and regress it?
Probably? The generator can't be directly kicked or touched but I imagine perks like Pain Res, Surge and Eruption (If the generator was primed with Eruption before getting blocked) would damage them and start regressing.
-
Reminds me of the Honest Game Trailer for DbD a few years ago.
"...which won't help you with your biggest liability: the other players, as they mess up the generator skill checks to get caught instantly, and you sneak around in an attempt for a rescue, only to get caught yourself, then totally abandoned, until you finally learn your lesson and realize the best strategy... is to scramble over the proverbial corpse and just escape on your own, in gameplay that makes you wonder if it's made you a little more misanthropic just by playing it."
-
I think you were thinking of Deadman's Switch and Pain Res. Deadlock activates when a generator is completed and blocks the generator with the most progress off.
-
Seems like the restriction was lifted at some point between the OP and now (February 18/19) as it now shows up as Killer & Survivor.
-
@Emeal said:
What does playing Sweaty mean and why is it bad that you have to use all strategies at your disposal as Killers to get adept?
Because it's stressful and unfun. All it takes is a single survivor finding the hatch to deny you the Adept, especially on weaker Killers who already struggle with proper builds.

And there are a number of anti-tunneling perks in game to make it harder to get tunneled out of the match.

Probably because every competitor that has tried to challenge DbD has gone belly up due to low player counts or even worse balancing than DbD (See also: VHS).

Champion of light is alright and deadline basically has no effect unless combo'd with skillcheck perks like hyperfocus
I mean, CoL has synergy with Residual Manifest and, to an extent, Background Player when going for Flashlight saves.
Still not sure on how good Illumination is though. Like I said, information is useful but it requires other survivors to use the boon. Maybe in a SWF but in solo queue it might be more of a mixed bag.

Also DBD forums- “We need to let killers know if they have a SWF in their lobby!”
Lmao wut… if you think letting killers see premade groups won’t result in a pandemic of dodging, you’re on that zaza.
Simple solution: Give the Killer an enhanced BP incentive when dealing with a premade. Give me +200% BP to face off against a full four man SWF and I will stick around.

If BHVR hadn't hit the Xeno with a knee jerk nerf to the Tail Strike you'd probably see it a lot more, too.

The answer is to not get bent out of shape by losing a single game.
I never understand this mentality that losing a match is somehow an indicator of imbalance or something that needs correcting.
Even the top, #1 players lose sometimes. And, spoiler alert, despite what people think internally, the average forum user here is not the entity's gift to DbD and is very far from being 'the top'. In most cases, it's just ego and people who can't handle the idea that they might just not be the 'max MMR god tier skilled player' they claim to be.
My ultimate problem is that SWFs tend to be extremely poor winners and will not just god damn leave when they open the exit gates because they just have to rub salt in the wound that they won and will hold the game hostage and stand in the gates until the EGC is about to end unless you go over to chase them out just so they can teabag you on the way out.
I refuse to reward that behavior and will usually try to find unbroken walls or dropped pallets to smash for BP. Otherwise I just wish I could leave the match at that point without being penalized and get my BP instead of having to waste my time on people who need to grow up.
-
@HugTechLover said:
You cannot punish people for playing with friends.
This “opt in” matchmaking would kill SWF, which would in turn kill the game.
It’s never going to happen. Perhaps you should look into finding a more relaxed game to play if DBD stresses you out that much. It’s counterintuitive.
If you can't "punish people for playing with friends", why are SWFs allowed to punish Killers with an unfair advantage? At least give the Killer in a full SWF match a better BP incentive to make up for the extra struggle such matches cause.
-
Yeah, here's the thing: If a survivor has a bad match they can just give up on the hook and move on.
If a Killer is stuck in a bad match, they are stuck until the survivors are either dead or escape and I've lost track of how many times survivors will stand around in the exit gates in the End Game Collapse, holding the game hostage and refusing to leave just so they can teabag me on the way out.
-
@MikaelaWantsYourBoon said:
Sorry to hear that.
But they will never nerf SWFs because it makes zero sense to punish people for playing with friends. Not all SWF teams are that good and only 5% of playerbase at high mmr.
And your suggestion will also never happen because no killer player will go against SWF teams and this will kill matchmaking for both sides. Solo survivors will get fast matches. SWF teams will never get match. And killers will get insanely long queues because they removed all SWF teams from matchmaking.
So this is not going to happen.
And you should not play a game if it is affects you that much with bad way. Breaks will help you, you can play different games.
You know, I always see that said in response to making SWFs opt-in: That no Killer would go against them. Almost like they aren't fun to play against.
Perhaps make it so that the opt out only applies to a full four man SWF.
As I said: When a match is going fairly evenly with the survivors getting gens done and I'm getting downs/hooks, things can be a blast. It's those lopsided matches that stress me out that are at issue.

If a Survivor is consistently looping you "endlessly" that is entirely on you.
Also, blatant whataboutism.
You're the one complaining about and wanting to 'punish' Killers for using a valid strat and are unwilling to accept that removing a survivor from the match and making it 1v3 is one of the easiest way to start snowballing for a Killer.
Survivors control the flow of the match, not killers.

@Pulsar said:

It's not that they've incentivized it, rather that they've not punished it.
Why would they punish it? It's the easiest way for a Killer to relieve pressure on them while simultaneously increasing the pressure on the remaining survivors.
The sooner you can make it 1v3 instead of 1v4 it becomes easier to win.
-
@GeneralV said:
The amount of tunneling and camping recently is absolutely insane.

No it shouldn't. The whole point of the Cage of Atonement is that Hook related perks don't work on it whether it's a survivor perk or a killer perk.
