It is a stupidly designed perk, and people do play like that, but you're not gonna see that at high level. So it's a coin flip to whether the devs address it or not.
the devs address plenty of things that don't appear in high level play
while we're on the topic, we should change left behind and also nerf pig again

There is no incentive to focus on hatch escapes other than mmr doesn't drop. These players will lock themselves at their current rating while those of us that actually play will pass them by.
a lot of people play the game purely to escape and have decided on a playstyle that creates a bad game environment for others
those players aren't aware mmr even exists, so diving valiantly in front of this perk to stop me shooting it is a fool's move when the perk can simply be tweaked to encourage doing gens at the very least

That doesn't happen often. You had one game like that and decided to rant on the forums right?
three tonight alone.
i'm not okay
-
this map is why i run info perks.
spies from the shadows / windows of opportunity never had so much value
-
i'd just make her blink slower when she's going through something so that objects in the world actually affect her a little. nothing crazy, but dropping a pallet should buy you time against a killer, not cost you time.
-
fact is, PTB shouldn't even use our old saves
we should all just use the same, singular PTB save, which has everything unlocked, and every character has everything
then we can actually test things, and people will be incentivised to play PTB just to test builds, which is - you guessed it - good for getting PTB feedback and finding bugs.
-
i try to give a free kill at the end to be nice but literally half the time the killer just refuses to do it, so i just leave to not waste time waiting out the egc
sucks but what can ya do
they earn more bps than me anyway so it's not that big of a deal
-
then leave and take your pessimism with you

people do that to me when i play non-campy bubba, does that mean bubba should be a 105 killer with insidious basekit?

I didn’t ask for a life lesson.
Good that this is what the minority is “enjoying”. We’ll see what’s gonna happen, the devs already said they’re looking Into facecamping so “enjoy” it as long as you can.
source?
-
sorry you got camped but camping bubbas are hilarious after a certain point. you'll get there eventually.
shout outs to the insidious agitation iron grasp monstrous shrine basement bubbas out there.
-
different killers have different counterplay. if plague didn't have to respect pallets there'd be literally no way to play against her.
at least with oni you can vault windows.

If only it was that easy lol! Which cosmetic are you after if you could pick?
i really just want jonathan byers.
i dont like steve! i like jonathan, but the fact auric cells are so expensive means i have never purchased them and never will.
-
allow me to queue with survivors when we also have a killer
there will be fringe cases where survivors will troll and sandbag to ruin a random player's day but once the people sad enough to do that get banned we'll be left with a case where someone can go "oh i need to do a killer archive lmao see yall in the trial" and we have a good giggle on voice chat about playing against each other
-
there are a bazillion survivor perks that are just bad because they rely on restricted, niche conditions for effects that just... aren't strong.
i'd love to see the conditions removed and the effects increased.
then at least i'll get to have fun with wacky builds while everyone else stays running DS/DH/BT/IW/UB.
-
honestly i wouldn't mind if the current version of ds has an unlimited timer on it
it'd be funny if a survivor threw by not doing gens for 4 minutes because they wanted to stun me for 5 seconds
-
why is this a video when most of the things talked about don't actually appear as example footage?
i'm just supposed to take your word for it, huh? bro i can't even take the wiki's word for it half the time.
-
new feature: crawling
quickly tap the crouch button twice to go prone. while prone, sounds of your breathing and grunts of pain are reduced by 100%. if the killer finds you, they can just pick you up as if you were dying, but otherwise it'll be a great way to hide in bushes.
the day this gets added, there'll be so many gate teabaggers complaining about how they went into a lengthy crawling animation and the killer came and picked them up and hooked them lmao. plus, it'd actually be a useful feature.
-
shadowstep is a convenient excuse for you to camp, but it's not incentive.
just be shameless dude. if you hate camping don't do it. if you wanna camp then do it. it's your game, play it how you like.
-
...
-
stop telling other people what you think fun is and admonishing them for not having Your fun.
-
i find it fun to play against trapper, billy, nurse (when she plays fair), myers, huntress, pig, spirit (those changes made her fun, cant believe it), legion, ghostface, demo and blight
the rest (and nurse when she's good and tryharding) just aren't as fun to play against.
i'm really no good at playing against killers that have a stellar 1v1. i just feel like the killer shows up, downs me, hooks me, and leaves all in rapid succession and i feel powerless to do anything. i'm not terrible at looping any more but i feel like they require second chance perks to really have a fun run against and i don't want to use those perks. i much prefer to run info / support perks and simply do things right the first time, but some killers... man, some of these guys really justify the existence of dh/ub/ds/bt builds.
-
it's literally wasting a tremendous amount of power for the sake of owning a proof of purchase for a hyperlink. there is nothing less valuable in this world. get some perspective for christs sake.

I built one like this with renames on the power, characters, addons, and lore back when this was anounced. A common thing I've seen from all reskin ideas is a werewolf. I guess great minds think alike.
it just seems like a really obvious reskin from demogorgon's silhouette. i'm glad i'm not the only one making this joke and i really really hope that they sort this out.
just use it as an excuse to launch a few new perks for killer it'll be fine lmao

i don't run meta perks so i'm genuinely happy to escape. i'll make up for it by getting destroyed in the next match.

It is kinda amusing that we only talk about how much we dislike this technology and only disagree about how bad it is. For me it is a annoyance that they try to implement a "solution" for a "problem" that never existed. Even without the enviromental issues NFTs have nothing to offer and only creat problems. Art theft being a major factor as well as the problem that unlike Bitcoin as an example they are not even limited. There is no need to use a blockchain for something that can be duplicated over and over.
I would argue that holiday flights are another example. They only offer the merit of bringing joy to people. I could argue that NFTs also bring joy to the people who like them. Thus both would have the same benefits while producing enviromental issues (cerosin is quit bad) same if you drive your car around the country just for fun. As such I would make the case that "fossile fueled transportation for fun" is on the same level as an NFT. You are right about the other things thou as soy is needed food while oil is just a product that is also required for things other than transportation.
this is not an NFT debate thread. please go set a tree on fire or whatever else you do to relax. we have already made up our minds on the topic.
-
nobody said "no more future crossover chapters because they will all contain NFTs".
what i am saying, is "no more bad contracts, even if it means not getting a licensed killer/survivors".
bad contracts are going to kill this game faster than any balance problem. and it would be nice if we, as a community, could tell bhvr not to take these bad contracts on our behalf. it just seems like they're sacrificing too much to bring these franchises into the game. i will never be able to see demogorgon, steve and nancy without thinking about terrible contracts. i will never be able to look at pinhead without thinking about terrible contracts. these chapters are essentially ruined for me, and the game on the whole is soured for it.
"one bad apple spoils the bunch".
that's what i made this thread for. i even bolded the "worth signing" part.
-
@deckyr said:
then they can put out some kind of statement.
go ahead, bhvr. we're waiting for you to be mad about the slander.
guess what post i was thinking about when i saw their tweet today
rotten form. bhvr, might i suggest not bending over backwards for greedy irrelevant boomers and having some respect for your product and what you have created? you are the ones responsible for the hype around horror these days, not them. start acting like it.
there's a reason we care about smash bros reveals, because getting in is a mark of honour. if getting into dbd allows people to do whatever they want with your game (netflix pulling content) or your reputation (these people making NFTs) then it's not worth signing these terrible contracts any more.
do better, be better. we would play this game without the crossover content because it's fun. don't screw it up by fixating on the wrong things.
-
can i get a Scary Movie tie-in instead where they add Cindy and Brenda to the game?

Maybe there should be individual survivor MMR, somehow whenever I play as Bill my brain instantly turns to mashed potato (and based on study of other Bills, I don't think I'm alone in this)
i have never seen a normal Bill player, they either hide in lockers all game waiting for hatch or they're off doing flips and running circles around the killer.
therefore Bill should have his own MMR seperately from other survivors. this man is too much for some to handle.

In your previous post, you mentioned the killer quick-switching at the last second, I just called attention to the question: "how would survivors know what killer they're facing in the lobby?" Should've worded it that way but that is what I meant.
some people cheat, man, it's not that complicated.

you guys are literally misunderstanding my post
i am saying that map offerings should come in BATCHES OF FOUR, not four times as many in the bloodweb
ie, you redeem one from the bloodweb, you get FOUR in your inventory

hmm, very curious indeed. hope that they keep thorough logs and can look back through what really happened. i'll never take a post like this at face value but it's worth keeping bumped for the possibility, at least.

Maybe say that to the 99% killer complaint posters on here lol. Pot meet kettle my friend.
i do. i say it to everyone.
this survivor vs killer war is the most irritating thing in the world. you try to post some sense on the forums and someone shoots you down accusing you of being on one side of it trying to get digs at the other side. it's insane. it's actually mentally unhealthy. take a goddamn break.
-
it really feels like you need to learn to have fun while not winning.
i'm sorry to say it, but it's true. dbd is a lot more fun when you can recognise a good game while losing it.

@Keezo said:
The hidden broken effect I think makes the perk ridiculous. Without the killer knowing you have No Mither, they have to presume that anyone not healing, has it, meaning they just... aren't allowed to snowball at all.
If you want it to be hidden, the pickup has to go.
Then there's the blood effect, which would be fine... if Twins didn't exist.
2 effects need to go, so all you're left with is IW 1.
right, and calm spirit has to go because doctor exists. except that's never happened.
no mither being a counterperk against twins is extremely fine, and arguably intended. some killers just have counterperks and that's what makes dbd interesting.

time to insidious hook camping plague. time to agitation basement build plague. time to play plague in the least fun way humanly possible for everyone involved.

it, at the very least, makes more sense for survivors to blame their teammates than it does to rage at the killer for... y'know... doing their job and winning. so props to those guys for being at least one brain cell more aware than the typical online video game garbage.
but it's still just that. garbage.
-
it's unfortunate. even un-nerfed it would've been fine. now it's like a bunch of other survivor perks - in need of a huge buff before it can dislodge one of the meta perks.

But a mori is killing by your own hand. Like, that's what it is. That's the description of every mori, that's the interaction it opens. A mori offering lets you do this after two hooks and the survivor's downed, Devour Hope lets you do it when you have five stacks and the survivor's downed, Tombstone Myers lets you do it when you're in tier 3 and the survivor is not downed.
I'm not seeing the evidence that moris are going to work the way you're postulating - this is extrapolation based on context clues. Making them basekit isn't the problem, it's this allowing survivors to deny it if they don't want it business that has me confused and concerned. I fundamentally do not see why survivors should get a say in this, seeing as they don't get a say in anything else the killer does. Nor do I see why survivors would want to do any distraction activity to prevent a mori unless moris themselves were more impactful than they are now.
I can't stress this enough. Moris in their current state barely do anything. You haven't been addressing this at all. There's no incentive for the kind of slowdown you're suggesting. Even if I'm running DS, or Flip-Flop/Power Struggle, the odds that I'll end up in a situation where these perks could have saved me if I was picked up are low and unlikely to justify taking action unless that action is so quick and conveniently located that it's not a significant detriment to gens, whereupon the slowdown factor doesn't exist.
Moris in their current state barely do anything. You haven't been addressing this at all.
that's, purposeful. i don't know what their plan is for moris and i literally do not have the answers for you. all i know is that they're planning on making moris basekit, and then giving the survivors a side objective they can do to prevent you using the basekit mori. i don't know more than that and i just do not have the answers for you.
i could try to speculate, but that would just be a waste of everybody's time. the fact is we don't know and the smart money is on waiting and seeing.

That just sounds like it's going to make getting Evil Incarnate and Blood On Your Face even more difficult than they currently are. No matter how well you play and plan, survivors have the ability to hard block you out of spite. And spite motivates much of the decisionmaking once a team has realized they're going to lose.
Unless this change is somehow going to buff moris so they're more impactful than they currently are - like returning the 1-hook requirement, which I can't see or want them doing - this just doesn't make any sense to give survivors more of an ability to deny it. There's nothing about it that needs denying. It's a death hook, just cooler, and I completely fail to see why survivors should get any choice in whether they die to a hook or the Clown getting a McFinger.
Unless it's just meant to wreck Devour Hope, now that I think about it. If you can't find the totem, just run off and do your anti-mori thing, now it doesn't matter if the killer gets more stacks or not.
Editing to your more recent post, destroying a hook is almost inconsequential unless it's right next to the gates or the survivors used petrified oak and you're in a particularly bad area. I have over 1k hours in the game and I can count on one hand the number of times a broken hook from a previous sacrifice has prevented me from hooking someone. (It's twice. That's it.) Moris do not have an impact on the game that merits allowing survivors to prevent them.
just to double check, are you aware that this change will also make moris basekit? they'll be present in every match no matter what your offering is, which is the big part of why survivors are being given the secondary objective to do.
also, i don't think this is going to affect Devour Hope at all. DH doesn't "enable the ability to mori", it "allows you to kill survivors by your own hand". so i wouldn't worry about DH in all this. well, i would, but that's because of counterforce, not because of the upcoming mori change.
