I’ve been playing DBD since 2017 and David King was always a character that jumped out to me. I’m from Manchester (England) and I found it so cool that David was also from here as I’ve never seen that before in a video game, as normally when a character is British they’re from London. Seeing how much detail the developers put into his perk names / quotes was amazing, as I never imagined seeing things like “Dead Hard’ and ‘No Mither’ being used as they’re just such niche expressions used in my home town.
I’ve grown up around sports and they were always something I excelled at during my time in school. Rugby was always my thing and then I got into kickboxing during my college years and now I’m a full-time Personal Trainer, which is just a dream job.
Since about the age of 7 I’ve known I was ‘different’ - I had girlfriends as that was what my family expected from me. Being anything other than heterosexual wasn’t ever discussed in my family. Men got with women and women got with men. That’s what I was brought up knowing to be true. I felt hollow for the longest time as I was living a life that I didn’t feel in control of. I was in auto-pilot for a long time, just doing what was expected from me and not doing what I actually wanted to do.
I went on a journey of self-discovery at the age of 25 when I realised that not allowing myself to be authentic was slowly killing me and it couldn’t go on much longer. I came to the conclusion that I was not a heterosexual male, but I was in fact a homosexual male. Being so heavily involved in sports for all my life just felt like I was locked in a cage. It’s no secret that that world can be deep rooted in homophobia and hearing some of the comments fellow teammates would make, just didn’t leave me feeling safe enough to be my true self. I loved sports and didn’t want to give that up and I felt like if they knew the real me, I’d be disowned. These feelings also lead back to my family. My mum was always talking about grandkids and how she couldn’t wait for me and my then-girlfriend to have them. I just had such an immense pressure on my shoulders to stay in the closet, but it eventually reached a boiling point.
When I did eventually ‘come out’ I got my fair share of bigoted comments from people I once classed as friends and family. Some didn’t understand how I could possibly be gay, because I wasn’t effeminate and had girlfriends. Which really boiled my blood. I didn’t realise somebody’s sexuality was a personality trait? Why couldn’t I be into ‘masculine’ things and still be gay? It never made sense to me.
Now this brings me back to David. Him being gay just resonates with me so damn much. We almost feel like the same person now. Some people don’t understand why representation is important, but this is why. If I had a character like David King whilst I was growing up, it would have made it a lot easier for me to accept who I was and realise there was never anything wrong with me.
I truly appreciate what Behaviour has done and I hope that the increase in representation we’re seeing throughout the media will make it easier for the youth of today, as my childhood / teen years truly felt like hell.

To me and this is my opinion, if you don’t like a game then why don’t you just quit. I used to play nba2k since nba2k13 on the wii. I loved it. Played 14. Loved it. 15 and 16. Liked it. 17, was ok and that’s when I quit I was starting not to like the game. I didn’t get 18 or 19 and only got 20 as a surprise gift for Christmas. Didn’t ask for it. I played it and didn’t like it. We are getting 2k23 and there’s no way I’m buying it at this point. I don’t go trashing the game. I just quit and moved on

Oni can get looped for ages he's literally the weakest killer in the game when he doesn't have his power...
You can even try to mindgame an Oni while he is in Blood Fury it's very hard and risky but still possible.
Also he doesn't ignore survivors defenses as far as I know ? You can use windows against him,pallets but you have to react quick beceause if you're too slow youre going down INSTANTLY especially if the Oni is running the double speed add ons(I love running these 2 add ons together).
Oni is a fair and balanced killer with a fun and difficult power to master but once you get good at him you just cannot stop playing him he's too much fun.
He has one of the best chases music in the game,a good lore and some nice clean cosmetics.
What can you dislike about this killer ? he's just great and perfectly designed IMO.
not saying this beceause I main Oni of course.

Well I guess I can clarify that a little more. I care about the characters I care about. Kate, Meg, Yui, Feng, Jill, Leon to name a few. I read some stuff about them in game out of curiosity but thats about it. I don't actively scroll down the DBD twitter looking for lore updates. I just so happen to see this mentioned in the twitter feed they have here on the forums and then saw this thread about it. I think I can give my opinion about things if I want to. If that bothers you so much, even if you feel I have no place to give my opinion about this, then you are by no means obligated to read anything I say.
Honestly, I care more about putting on a smoking hot outfit on Kate and giving killers a hard time than I do about the deep lore of the game. I've never seen this game as one for much lore. Maybe if it had more content related to lore that was playable in game but the game is about repairing 5 generators and opening a door for survivors. I don't need lore to do that. I do like looking good while doing it though.

Representation is a good thing. There are certain situations where it’s handled great and others where it’s handled poorly. This one with David is fine but I hope that the next one will be in a new chapter. I don’t think anyone would have a problem with that

Give your teammates an opportunity to do gens and have a chance to escape and make sure the killer doesn’t get to ruin the game and also get a 4k. It sucks that your teammates pretty much can’t rescue you, but if survivors do gens and leave while the killer sits in basement for 2 minutes then eventually at least some of the killers doing it will get bored of it.
unfortunately camping bubbas generate salt which is what the player wants. And it’s been four years even if they (bubba) lose they won’t stop playing that way.

Hell no, I was getting chase by a doctor in the endgame collapse and the doctor left the Mikaela on the hook. He was like 50 meters away. What did bill do? Stand there by the exit. Or when a bill just sat there crouching by a wall while I was on hook and huntress wasn’t camping.

IMO this is not on purpose, this is just collateral damage, because the Devs dont know which Perks are actually in the game. Sure they know DH, BT, DS and every other Meta-Perk, but some other Perks are so forgetful. And we have so many of those.
But yeah, they should come up with something for Solidarity and Resurgence. I never see Solidarity but sometimes (but very rarely) I see Resurgence and the Perk just got nerfed without any compensation due to the Hemorrhage-Change.
“But we want to see more variety” like I said I want to use other perks like resurgence and it just got nerf basically. It’s only stayed at 50% once in 3 matches. Great job bhvr

I love solidarity with Autodidact. But so many killer addons have the hemorrhage effect that its becoming useless to run. even if it was not great to begin with.
They should buff autodidact so that more skill checks appear. I only get like two and that’s it lmao. The point is that people want to see variety and the other perks are so situational and are sometimes useless when the meta perks are always consistent.

DC (and now Marvel) have found an absolutely ingenious way to get around this via their 'multiverse' concepts. Now you can have the 'diverse' characters and 'classic' characters at the same time, and both everyone and no-one is satisfied.

There was also Superman Red Son where he is raised in Soviet Union during the Cold War instead of US.
They've done several different versions of Superman.

They made it a big thing and chose David for shock value and to get people to talk about it. If they really cared and thought it was normal then they would just release a new character that is gay and now crow about it.
