Real football involves real money, think about the gambling, many betting which team will win, and win or lose can have meaning on people life.

While dbd is just a game, In my eyes a very good and fun PARTY game. Thats to say you are playing for fun, there are no stats, no ranks(which other people can see etc) so its a very casual xp, of course winning or losing doesnt matter that much

There's unpaid sports playing and paid video game playing as well.

The game isn't survivor sided. Some killers stomp the survivors with their best asset and their best build. Nurse/ Blight/ Spirit at least. And even some weaker killers have some pretty nasty combinations.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2859621#Comment_2859621

If you're a bad survivor DH won't save you. Can't say the same about noed though. And, no... noed doesn't give just a single down in your average game: that is just untrue. You're taking the worst case scenario that happens from time to time for a generality. That's the same BS as saying any hex is bad because it can get cleansed fast.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2860222#Comment_2860222

Survivors don't have the time to cleanse all totems and do all gens if the killer is as good as he thinks he is.

Survivors have more than enough time to do all of that if they're as good as they say, also.

  • I was also looking forward to this, but it never came.

  • Toolboxes were never nerfed. It's a the same amount of boost condensed into a smaller period of time.

Keys still serve their purpose. If you're the last survivor and the killer closed the hatch before you got to it, you can still open it up and escape.

Wraith is surprisingly easy to counter, especially after his nerf. The most important thing to know is that he cannot hit you unless he's uncloaked. That means windows are a nightmare for him, because he can't uncloak mid-vault. Some Wraiths will also follow you from pallet to pallet, 99ing their uncloak but are actually waiting for you to drop the pallet so they can break it and catch up to you without having to uncloak. This means you can bait them by standing at the pallet like you're gonna drop it, they 99 but don't uncloak, you don't drop it, and then they have to actually uncloak maybe to hit you. And that gets in their head, because now they have to guess if you're gonna drop the pallet or if you're gonna call their bluff on the uncloak again. Some killers have more counterplay than Wraith, and some have less, notably Nurse. But they all have counterplay.

And no, no, no. Survivor perks are rarely nerfed, and for good reason. Killer perks are nerfed regularly for no good reason. Coup De Gras, which gives the killer a longer lunge, was way better when it was first shown off in the ptb, and even that version of the perk had only niche uses. If you don't have DS, BT, or Dead Hard on your survivors, sure you won't be feeling the strength that we killers constantly complain about. But even perkless, survivors have a lot of power. It takes 80 seconds to do a gen solo, even faster if multiple people are on there. So if the killer's camping or tunneling, all you have to do is do gens and you'll be out the gates in like 5 minutes. You just don't see that often because your teammates kill themselves on hook, can't run the killer, and won't do gens.

Spine Chill is fine. You should use it, but know that when the cat lights up, you don't have to immediately run or hide. If the cat is lit up for a few seconds straight, the killer is definitely coming your way. But if it flickers once or twice, they're probably just chasing someone else or looking around. Premonition is a worse version of this perk in every way. Kindred also gives amazing info on where the killer AND your teammates are at.

The game is not as killer sided as you think. People always complain about the strength of killers in the beginning. I even have problem with some killers still. But at top level, killers get destroyed even when they play their heart out. Killers do experiment with perks, but a majority of them don't do enough for the killer, and if the survivors have perks that do a lot for them, the killer is probably going to lose that game even if they play well.

My recommended perks for killer are Corrupt Intervention, Deadlock, No Way Out, and NOED. The first 3 delay the game as much as possible, because survivors win most of the time by doing gens faster than the killer can possibly hook them enough times, and these perks block the gens and the exits. The last one NOED is used at all levels of play because of how "good" it is, but if your team does all 5 totems, or you cleanse some and the rest are boons, NOED doesn't activate because there's no totem for it to spawn on.

There's other appealing perks for killer, like Play With Your Food which can make the killer walk faster, I'm All Ears which can let them see your aura after you do a rushed action, and Hysteria which gives you Oblivious if you're injured. The effect of those perks is nothing to scoff at, but even then they don't do enough. To me, as killer and survivor, the best perks for you are the ones that you're guaranteed to get value out of. My best build has guaranteed stalling and forces survivors to do all totems if they don't want to deal with instadowns. Survivor perks I usually use are Spine Chill, Kindred, Dead Hard, BT, and DS.

There's a difference between playing well/fair and playing optimally/efficiently. For survivors, playing well is looping a killer so long, you buy your team so much time that they get all the gens done, or someone buying you that time and you spending it wisely to do the gens and heal people. For killers, that's killing people as soon as possible and stopping the gens and exits from getting done, which means tunneling, slugging, camping, and regressing the gens. For survivors, playing fair is always healing teammates before getting back on gens, not doing gens as fast as you can, and doing optional objectives like totems and chests. For killers, playing fair is going for lots of chases, hooking a bunch of different people, and always going for the unhooker not the unhooked.

Playing fair unfortunately isn't playing efficient, so it gets punished. If survivors don't do the gens as fast as possible, the killer could kill them all. If the killer goes for too many chases and doesn't killer people early, the survivors are gonna escape.

My best way of playing killer is simple but effective, and only somewhat fair. You use my build, pick two people and switch between hooking just one and just the other, and that results quickly to 2v1 game. After that, chase the third and hook them. If you see the fourth, great. If you don't, don't bother slugging them. They may get hatch, but hey, that kill was pretty much yours anyway. The sad part is that even playing this way, you will still lose a lot, and it's not for lack of skill or trying.

The best way to get better at the game, and to have reasonable opinions about the game, is to play both sides and play them well. If you're playing competitively, that's how you want to do it. If you're playing casually, you have no place talking about balance changes. That's just the way it is. I hope my advice helped.

  • He's already been nerfed (unjustly) already and hasn't received the qol changes he's due. If you break his chains on the environment, they break instantly. Go for the box when you can, but you've got to either solve it or make sure you can run Pinhead for a long time when he comes to interrupt you. He may seem OP yo you, but at top level he gets demolished.

  • I've been denied any use of NOED multiple times because survivors did every totem. It's fine as is.

Huh? I said If I can get those I don't care, why are you losing out BP if you are getting those?

If you don't get the sacrifice, because they bleed out, then you lose out on that BP. 32 BP is the max for a match, 8000 in each category. You could get 11 hooks, but because that person bled out, you don't get 8000. And bp offerings multiply that, so you're really losing even more. And that adds up over time. You're hundreds of thousands of bp short because of it.

  • From one extreme to another. No, it doesn't need a nerf. It's the 1 stealth detection perk, because Premonition is a joke.

  • @fulltonon said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2860177#Comment_2860177

Why do I care? only thing I lose by bleeding out is BP and pips, if I can get it, I have no problem with it.

But until the grind gets fixed, losing out on BP is like a crime. What about people who want to progress and don't have everything in the game yet?

  • @fulltonon said:

Hook emblem should be removed, now every problem solved.

You don't care about hatch, you don't care about bleed-out, you don't care about kills even.

So you're fine with this? People bleeding out and everything?

  • @MikaelaWantsYourBoon said:

This is problem but not biggest one for sure. I would see re-balance broken maps, better anti-cheat and solution for grind first. This is not on top of my list. BHVR is slow even fix this issues.

    That doesn't mean this isn't a problem.

  • Artist isn't broken and neither is Dead Man's Switch.

  • I never feel bad for 4King or refusing to give hatch/gate. Ideally, I want a 4K every time. Don't care how good a survivor played or how much they deserved to escape. But a 4K isn't practical, especially when free escape hatch takes it away. So I want a 3K at the least, since it's the new 4K.

i’m seeing it as survivor a lot, I rarely use it on killer. If NOED isn’t meta it’s at least making it’s way there.

I see Ruin in like half my survivor games, but it surprises and annoys me every time. As killer, I never use Ruin because it's always cleaned instantly. Ruin isn't strong when that happens because it didn't get to do anything. When a killer I play against has Ruin up all game, I can see why they use it, because they're just lucky and have it in the best possible spot that takes all game to find, or people just aren't looking for it. That's when Ruin is strong. It's either that or it goes down instantly for them, to which I have to say, "Feels bad, man."

But that's my biggest gripe about that old meta, the fact that I can't win with it because half my build gets cleansed instantly, yet somehow people still win with it through dumb, RNG, win-more luck. Ask anybody. You're bound to find people who find hexes polarizing.

It's not like Freddy would be the weakest killer in the game, especially with the buffs I am suggesting. I understand that people want to win, but that doesn't mean every killer needs to be overpowered.

But "overpowered" has lost all meaning in this community. Killer who are "OP" actually have gameplay and can do something against the survivors, and survivors don't want that. That's why Wraith, Pinhead, Deathslinger, and even Clown got nerfed, because they were called OP.

  • Solo queue teammates skew kill rates like you would not believe. Those games have no right even being close, but instead of the survivors dominating the killer does, because the survivors throw beyond belief.

  • Are you seeing it as survivor a lot, or are you using it as killer?

  • @DoritoHead said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2859801#Comment_2859801

I never said that he was S tier without those nerfs. All I said was my goal wasn't to make Freddy a super strong killer.

If you don't make him a strong killer, your idea has failed. No killer is going to be fun to play, and nobody is going to want to play them, if they don't have some strength behind them. That's what Sadako proves.

  • The one that's just by a tree in plain sight on Shelter Woods is the worst by far.

  • The simplest way to buff him is to revert those unjust nerfs he got. We want the Freddy back that people hilariously misconstrued as being S tier, yet was an overblown B tier. People want killers to compromise in balancing? There's one right there.

  • @DoritoHead said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2859597#Comment_2859597

Even then, I've never found post-rework Freddy enjoyable. Instead of trying to make Freddy S-tier, I want to focus on restoring what made Old Freddy unique.

Freddy has never been S tier. Reverting his nerfs would not "return him" to being S tier. It would simply make him playable.

I mean we had a tournament where Survivors used the best of the best items and perks and same thing for killers and guess what? The kills on average were a bit over 2.

You can write whole paragraphs all you want but killer isnt nearly as hard as you make it out to be and it quite literally is in most cases the killers fault when they end up losing. There are scenarios where the odds are simply stacked against you, such as playing a killer on a bad map specifically for that killer while having perks to counter that specific killer. But this doesnt happen NEARLY as often as people claim.

And wanna know what else happens EVEN less? Facing Survivors who actually take advantage of that and play on that level.

Sure killers can have a hard time, sure you can have a series of bad games. But it aint something exclusive to DbD and it especially isnt something exclusive to killers

You mean the tournament where moris were legal? Yeah, very few killers are going into matches with moris.

    1) Some people don't want to use them.

    2) It's an offering (which is equipped outside of the match).

    3) Killers run out of moris.

And those survivors in that tournament? Most certainly weren't playing their best. I'm calling their skill level and/or motivation to win into question. You're telling me that they're freed of all the perk/item restrictions that tourneys normally use so that it's fair for the killer, and they still died that often? They were occasionally going against Artist, which was a new killer, so maybe that's a factor. They had good maps, perks, items, comms, against a killer whose only new advantage was a mori and maybe some better add-ons, and they just couldn't pull off their usual 3-4 man escapes? Just couldn't do it? No. They either played badly or threw the game.

Blight doesn't need any stronger add ons, he is already the best or second best, he has a strong basekit, there are other killers who need it much more. There is just so much inconsistency when it comes to add ons in this game.

If he gets a new strong add-on, he'll use that sometimes, instead of just the same ones people like to complain about all the time. They ask for something, and then they complain when they get it.

  • @WishIcouldmain said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2858503#Comment_2858503

Blight already had strong add-on variation. It should have gone to other killers who desperately need it instead is the issue.

He could have better add-on variation though. Because the language people are using, "All ever see Blight's use is X and Y add-on" insists that he doesn't have enough add-on variation, even though he does use like 4-5 add-ons, not the same 2 every time. But the more the merrier. Can other killer use add-on variation? Sure. But any killer buff should be a plus.

  • MMR definitely has room for improvement. You have to escape a lot to semi-consistently get away from these types of teammates. So for now, when you have the chance, play selfish and escape asap even at the cost of your team. If you can help someone else get out, great. But if you die, it was all for nothing.

  • MMR is probably the best thing to happen to this game. Look at all these balance issues that people are talking about that they weren't before. Even though some people still try to defend the game's problems by saying, "It doesn't happen that often, so it's fine!" which doesn't work anymore since matchmaking isn't completely random anymore.

  • @Shroompy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2858516#Comment_2858516

yknow i'm really curious to see how you play with how much you talk about how hard killers have it

There's a certain realization you have to have at some point if you want anyone to take you seriously, and that is that the match is always the survivors' to lose. Nurse can kind of circumvent all that because she's Nurse, but for everyone else, you'd better listen close.

You don't have time to go for 12 hooks, clearly. But you can't even go for 8 hooks a lot of the time, so you adapt like I have recently. Hook nobody else except for 2 survivors of your choosing. Alternate on hooking them, for the best chance at avoiding either's DS, and get them out of the game asap. This results in a 2v1, and hopefully all the gens aren't done but they might be. Find the 3rd, hook them, and take your 3k. 4k's are a luxury, because if you don't slug for the 4th, they most likely get a free hatch escape, or a gate escape even after you've closed it. In conclusion, if you don't play like this, and the survivors are actually efficient, you're walking away with about 1 kill average. You'll have some close 2k's, but also some 0k's if you deviate from this strategy.

Why are the results for killer so dire if you don't play efficient, like I said, and the survivors are playing efficient?

    1) Survivors always win the war of atrition. They can do gens faster than you can undo them, regardless of your perks. This means even a 3-gen can fail, easily.

    2) The survivor objective can be finished way before yours is. The gens can all be done in about 3 and 1/2 minutes. They'll complete them slower depending on how fast you're downing, but they will complete them regardless.

    3) Very few killers have strong enough powers to down fast, and all of those powers have counterplay. You chase 1 survivor who knows how to vs your killer, and you could lose the whole game.

    4) Survivors can virtually guarantee and unhook unless you have instadowns. Whether it's one survivor coming for the save or multiple, they'll bait the grab, BT, Dead Hard, DS, Unbreakable, whatever it takes to get the hooked survivor and everyone else out, but they will be successful.

The only exception to these rules is if the survivors aren't playing their best. This can vary wildly, from them collectively being just a bit inefficient, to not having a clue between them, but that's all classed as inefficiency nonetheless. I feel that people are walking into my "killer biased" arguments with none of this context, and it appears as if they know everything and I know nothing, when really it's closer to the opposite. I don't need people to like me or what I say; I just need them to back up what they're saying, especially if it's defamatory. I've been called "the killer Sluzzy" before, and I think that's very dangerous blanket statement/character assassination that can be used against any one of us.

sportsmanship is dead in this game, this game have and will always have toxic sweaty players even if you say otherwise, and FYI hitting a survivor on hook gives survivors more time to do gens and hurts the killer even more. If tunneling and camping is a viable strategy then so is tbagging. do you often see killers letting go of survivors after they get hooked in high mmr?

How is tunneling and camping comparable to tbagging?

  • @Zozzy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2858512#Comment_2858512

They shouldn't be making the killers objective harder or even impossible for no reason... I know survivors constantly complain about wiggling doing nothing, but why should they be able to escape the killers grasp for hitting space a couple of times without a team effort?

You're preaching to the choir. Not everyone though. Some will justify to the death that this is a non-issue. "You're just bad at hook management. This is necessary to discourage camping." That kind of stuff.

I just use basic reasoning, like the fact that killers shouldn't have a hard time hooking someone once they've put in the time and effort to down them. Simple as that.

  • Let me give a few complaints I have about playing as the killer: Survivors have to practically being trying to get fully condemned for it to happen. They can simultaneously turn your TVs off, so after 1 or 2 teleports every now and then, it seems like your TVs are off all the time. Her speed boost out of the TVs isn't long enough, and the placement of her TVs sometimes suck, like you're spawned in looking at a wall. She's an M1 killer, so despite being built around hit and run, you have to commit to every down if there's a boon in play. Her demanifested mode barely makes her stealthy, since she makes that loud metal screeching sound when she's near. It also never trips people up in chase. So she's a killer with nothing to help her in chase, weak passive pressure mechanic, built-in counters for that and for her teleport, and isn't even stealthy. What do y'all see in her?

  • SWF can't be removed. Having the ability to play with friends and then having it taken away would be outrageous. SWFs get an unfair advantage, but removing it entirely is a bad idea.

Chat is chat. Just don't look at it, or block messages if you're on console.

Basement is probably the only area on any given map where the killer has some amount of guaranteed power. You can't take that away. Not only is it a central part of the game (since the beginning, unlike hatch), but we need more than 2 killers to be viable before we even think about encroaching on one of the few innate advantages killers have.

  • Because people want 4Ks sometimes, something that they're denied all of the time when using this weak killer.

  • Midwich, swamp maps, Crotus Prenn maps, Dead Dawg, Suffocation Pit, and so many more.

I’m not saying Adrenaline Vile needs to be nerfed. Where’d you get that? It just makes no sense why Blight got an add on buff. While he already has. His Iris,Alchemist Ring, Blighted crow+ rat plus and already a top 5 base kit. While there are killers who can desperately use stronger add-ons or base kit. But, instead of say Myers or Pig who could use this they decide Blight who doesn’t need it.

It's the fact that you have to mention it, and frame it as a counterbalance for your argument. "Blight gets another strong add-on!" So now we're against add-on variation? We're against killers having options instead of being pigeon holed into using the same thing every time? All because a weaker killer could have done with an add-on buff?

Besides, this is all I've been seeing since Adrenaline Vial got buffed: "Too strong! Crutch! Must nerf!" Sorry I assumed! But can you blame me?

  • Ruin/Undying stopped being meta like a year ago, people.

  • The devs pick and choose when they want to balance off of the statistics, and when they want to balance off low or high MMR. They're totally inconsistent.

Another pro- Adrenaline Vial nerf post. Sad.

  • Corrupt, Deadlock, No Way Out, NOED.

  • It is the ideal way to win now. You pick 2 people, hook them in alternating order for a quick 2v1, then find the third. Don't even need to slug for the 4th, because it's a hassle. Just give them the absolutely free hatch escape.

Mid chase is a whole different thing. The survivor can't do anything if they're stuck on the hook but the killer can. The teabagging itself can be a battle of the mind when you think about it.

    Case in point.

Why do you even play the game if you only have negative thoughts about it? That can't be healthy I mean I see your tears on almost every other page on here maybe if you played the game even half as much as you were on here you wouldn't be getting ######### on all the time when you play killer

Really? We're going there? I've been playing the game for a few years at this point. I've got 2000+ hours. I play both sides at a high level, every day. I'd play it all day if I could. I've given my thoughts and suggestions on here, on content creator videos, and my own videos. I'm about as good as I can be with survivor and with almost every killer, as I have to settle with console controls. I've turned 1Ks into 3Ks, through skill and determination alone. My escape rate is subpar only because I'm consistently given the lousiest band of teammates in the whole playerbase. The direction the game has gone in hasn't even exceeded my lowest expectations. I'm tired of being gaslighted by the devs and this community.

  • You're sure? What about gen speed? Killers have been known to lose games even with constant downs because of it.

So you're not interested or invested at all in what you're playing? How could you just not care?

Sportsmanship is always relevant when you get to the competitive level of a multiplayer game. If you're not there, party game away. But at this level of skill and experience, we expect good old respect by default, not disrespect.

  • That's so sad. It takes a lot of game knowledge and skill to play Demogorgon well. Why can't their loss ever be their fault? Why is it always the killer's fault?

  • It's toxicity promoted as strategy. Point tech at the exits, I get. But what's tbagging, clicking, and pointing mid-chase doing, other than to annoy the killer? It's like calling killer hitting someone on hook a strategy. I'm sure spiking the football and victory dancing to show off against the other football team makes them angry and makes them play worse too, but it's not celebrated nor justified as a strategy. It's called being unsportsmanlike.

Strength != fun. Spirit is fun, strong or not, yet you’re only worried about winning every single game.

It's not winning every game. It's winning some games. There's still many games where you never had a chance of winning, because the gens went faster than you could kill.

  • Barely noticeable as a 115% killer, game ending for a 110% killer.

  • The only time I feel bad as a survivor, or feel bad for other survivors, is when they're getting face camped against an instadown killer or they're getting farmed/tunneled, because that's literally them not being able to do anything. But as killer? That's every match. Didn't pick the right perks, killer, add-ons etc, so you auto-lose. And even if you did? Probably still lose.
