He's been that way since he released. Most people don't see that though.
-
Spine Chill is better than Premonition in every way.
-
Survivors now have hexes that they can relight infinitely.
-
He needs detonation delay decrease base. No reason why that aspect of his power should be a variable. That's like having Pyramid Head's ranged attack be slow, unless you use a certain add-on. Doctor's shock can't even down you.

Proves most of you people never played her for her fun but rather her strength.
At a certain point, there's no fun in playing a killer if they're not strong. Having to de-rank/de-MMR just to deviate slightly off the meta puts you in that mindset.
-
If I played a balanced killer and they got nerfed, I'd quit them too.

That's not Forever Freddie
Yes it is those addons
But it's also Thanatophobia- Dying Light- I don't remember the other two perks
It's laughable now but back when it existed... It was rough
Dying Light? Do you realize how far into the match you have to be for Dying Light's numbers to actually make a difference? Unless of course, the survivors give him lots of hooks early, which is completely up to them. Same thing with Thana. Just heal. Everyone knows medkits are the best.
-
It's the choice of perks that is funnier. These guys with BBQ and Ruin are playing pitch a tent, when the entire point of those perks is to encourage chases.
-
I've had to put in plenty of tapes to keep my condemned down. But that was with the condemned upon healing add-on.

Removing perk tiers can't just be "done now" the devs have literally said on the Q&A that removing perk tiers is a lot of effort that could be better spent ACTUALLY fixing the problem.
Where's all this "effort" talk coming from? The devs haven't put effort into their game since its inception. And it probably doesn't take as much effort as you or they are implying to remove the 2 weaker versions of the perks, and keep the best ones. Until they give us an alternative solution and implement, this is still the best choice.

All's that needed changing was Forever Freddie... and pulling Survivors into the dream world faster
Same for Hillbilly with insta-saw
And Bubba with camping with a revved saw (now that doesn't make much difference)
Also Pig with Tampered Timer.... but now it's AFK Pig
Also Spirit with guessing too much (this one threw me for a loop as to why... but since then I've come around... but her addons need more attention paid to them)
Forever Freddy was never a thing. His best slowdown add-on did like 5%, which is like 1 stack of Thana. He couldn't use Ruin if people broke it. He couldn't use Pop if people weren't giving him downs every 30 seconds. He couldn't get value out of his teleport if people were pushing separate gens.

Simple to use killers aren't allowed to be good in this game.
Freddy and Wraith was in the simple to use category, that's why they had to be gutted.
I don't know how people can even say they're easy to use. If you play them in the most basic way, then sure you can beat some bad solos. But Wraith and Freddy have a much higher skill ceiling than that when it comes to adapting in trying to beat those better teams. Pre-nerf Wraith and Freddy would get squashed like bugs by today's meta, just as they did at the time they were nerfed! You know what I think? How's Wraith gonna hit you if you just abuse windows and abuse his slowdown coming out of cloak? How's Freddy gonna hit you if you just drop the pallet instead of letting him set up 4 snares at your loop? Those killers did require a bit of brainpower, and so did their counterplay, but those survivors couldn't even be bothered to learn.
-
@Brimp said:
Couldn't have said it better myself. I thought wraith was completely fine but people would complain about his speed and all seeing. From what I could tell any wraith player with a brain wouldn't dare play without a windstorm addon before and still would use all seeing but people only complained about it then because wraith was played more often.
Survivors just need to grow up. Speed and aura reading doesn't make the killer unbeatable. That's what they missed with Wraith, and that's why those stupid nerfs came into being.
-
So who's the 3?
-
Removing the perk tiers doesn't solve the grind long-term. But it does solve it in the short-term, and we need it now.
-
You lost me at survivor perk nerfs. Those are arbitrary. Survivors will still be crushing killers all the time.
The reason you only see 2-3 killers all the time is because that's how many are viable. You nerf them, and killer players will simply have to move on to the next strongest killer, not because they want to feel OP, but because they're desperately clinging to a killer with tools to combat high end survivors.
Any killers you're losing to right now who use 3 regression and BBQ all the time, that's not a good build they're using. Gen delay like Corrupt, Deadlock, Dead Man's is fine, but not really gen regression. Gen regression perks require survivors to give the killer constant downs. You'll be lucky to use Pop 3 times in some matches, before all the gens are done. Info perks are also overrated. What's the point of seeing where a survivor's at if you can't down them quickly? The game could be over by the time the chase ends.
I know solo Q is tough, but if anyone has a reason to quit the game, it's killers.
-
It doesn't stop killers from tunneling, but it impedes them when they tunnel. And also when they don't tunnel, so it can still be used offensively.
-
Wraith, unless I have Windstorm/uncloak speed.
Nurse, because she's too hard to control on console.
Myers, unless I have infinite tier 3/Tombstone Piece + a stalking rate add-on.
Doctor, unless I have a decreased shock delay add-on.
Huntress, because she's too hard to control on console.
Leatherface, because I bump into everything.
Freddy, because he's trash.
Pig, unless I have ambush attack add-ons.
Clown, unless I have Pinky Finger, Cigar Box, Flask of Bleach, and/or Fingerless Parade Gloves.
Spirit, unless I have Mother-Daughter Ring/Cherry Blossom.
Demogorgon, unless I have shred add-ons.
Oni, because he's too hard to control on console.
Deathslinger, because I can't quickscope with him.
Trickster, because he's too hard to control on console.
Pinhead, unless I have Engineer's Fang, the other pink add-on, and/or the add-on that spawns extra chains.
Sadako, because she's trash.
So you see, my options are limited. I have very high standards for killers. They need to be able to beat any team. I'll try to work with them for a while, but if I'm not seeing any improvement, I'll most likely drop them. Some killers I stopped playing because of unjust nerfs (what killer nerf isn't unjust?), and some I stopped playing because I was no good with them, mostly because I'm on console and their powers require precision only a mouse can give.
-
He has certain OP add-ons, but he's not OP. The 99'ing his tier 3 for a hook trade and then some, I get. But hey, Leatherface can do that too. And the moment we take those things away from the game without first addressing survivor strength, killer's done.
-
Everybody should have seen this coming. Every add-on that had a significant effect, injuring for a mere 1 health state + not being able to down with it, making the box take longer to solve, and speeding up the rate in which the chain hunt starts, got nerfed. Those add-ons didn't make him OP. They didn't make him Nurse level. They didn't make him unfair to vs. They made him viable. The Hoarder box strategy, to keep the chain hunt going as often as possible, was one of the most unique and skill intensive builds out there. It rewarded the killer for getting consistent downs with a subpar anti-loop power, yet if the box got solved once, they could kiss that match goodbye. The build pushed him to new heights certainly, but SWF still trumped him. These nerfs were made so that disorganized, casual solos could beat him.
-
@Chocolate_Cosmos said:
From my understanding, the best and probably the only viable strategy for him is keep the chain hunt going for slowdown on everyone.
Which got nerfed to death. Surprised they didn't nerf Franklin's and Hoarder as well, the loons.
-
I disagree with there being an SS, SA, S+ or whatever you want to call it tier. No killer is that good. Even Blight, without his exploits, probably isn't S tier, because he can't go through loops and obstacles, he has to deal with them. That leaves Nurse as the only S imo.
Beyond your tier list needing to shave a tier off the top and add one on to the bottom, Huntress, Plague, Oni, Nemesis, Trickster, Pinhead, Deathslinger, Freddy, Legion, and Ghost Face all need to move down a tier. No way Pig and Clown are worse than Ghost Face and Freddy. They're literally direct power creep on those killers.
Other than that, I agree.
-
They've been asked to address Dead Hard for years, and CoH more recently. If they fix one, they'll take some heat off. But if they fix neither? That's how this game dies.
-
They shouldn't hate her. She was balanced just for them.
-
They're punished for using them in gameplay as well.

What a take.

You can only play him in so many different ways, especially when he gets his good add-ons unjustly nerfed.

Dead Man’s Switch would like a word….
And how long did that buff take? And how much does that perk actually do? At best you're getting 45 seconds of blockage, not regresssion, blockage. Most of the time you're getting less than 10 unless you come to push survivors off every time, and never get distracted by a chase before you reach the gen. A meaningful buff for killer would be like Pop going back to 60 seconds, which it never should have been changed from, but you'll have survivors fighting you tooth and nail trying to justify that nerf. Meanwhile, Any Means buff, Windows buff, Boil Over buff, possible BT basekit coming soon, I could go on.
-
We already do, just on the survivor side. Survivors get weak perks buffed to shake up their meta, and killers get their strong perks nerfed to shake up their meta.
-
It shouldn't be bannable, but yeah patch it out. We might have to wait for a full-on rework for her though, which will be well worth the wait.
-
Twins, just heal as much as you can all the time, and run in pairs.
Artist, look at where she's placing the crows and in what direction, and try not to option select yourself.
-
CoH and Dead Hard are part of the axis of evil at this point. No killer's safe while they're around.
-
If they're gonna be stupid and cleanse, then you cleanse too. It might cause them to go down to her red puke later on, but hey, they didn't think twice about doing that to you.
-
Just randomly guess where they are, or don't use your ability. Both are bad options., I know. The devs have lost their passion for Spirit.

Plague isn't Demogorgon, and people shouldn't be forced to play 1 Killer to counter a Perk
So how does Demogorgon handle CoH? Just focus 1-2 people with Black Heart/Barb's Glasses? That's what worked for me, but that was before CoH.

Because Plague has a massive issue with vomit not registering. As someone who ended up maining Plague because of the heal meta, it became aggravating playing as her because of all the times my vomit would hit a survivor, I would hear them scream and see them go through the animation of being vomited on, but the game doesn't register any of it. Not to mention she's easily countered. Turning corners makes it near impossible for her to hit her vomit because of how slow it projects. And while she can prevent people from healing, the main counter to her is to not cleanse yourself. Especially on a big map.
Projectile speed. Hit the nail on the head. Clown has this problem as well. It sucks knowing exactly what the survivor's going to do, and having a plan to counter it, but not being able to execute it because of the sluggish nature of your power.

No, this is happening MID-CHASE.
Like, I never lose sight of the Survivor. Not even for a second. The red circle just times out or something like I was playing Ghostface or something.
I've kind of felt that myself, but then I haven't played her much.
-
Maybe they did put it in a TV and you just couldn't see its aura because it was turned off.

Rollback and aim dressing. Every match.

Im wondering if they didn't add billy because trapper is based on jason and billy is based on leatherface, so they decided not to add them to avoid people thinking the game just has/mostly has copycat characters.
That's not the first impression that I would get if I saw Hillbilly on there.

Me as a Spirit main:
People rage quit against any killer these days. They rage quit against like Legion or Clown.
-
It's because there's too many bad takes from too many people. They honestly believe killers can have it easy, when that's not the case under any circumstances other than the survivors being bad. Heck, has there ever been an actual justifiable killer nerf?

Dead on arrival. She gets 2 hooks average at top level.

You just said that all killers who are 110 percent are garbage. But now you've said that Spirit the version where she was at her strongest was entirely fine.
So which is it? Was she a perfectly balanced killer at 110 percent or was she weak?
She was perfectly balanced, except for the stand-still mindgame which was BS, but all she had to do was make 1 wrong read with her phase, and she had to hold forward as 110% for the next little while. That's when she was at her weakest. What her nerf does is take away her power that made her being 110% make sense. Now she could be 115% and probably still not be good.

I don't think I see Pigs doing that often, I'll have to try that out next time im playing Pig. Did this used to be stronger, I hear Pig has been nerfed quite a bit & wonder if that part of her was better?
Her dash and crouch have never been nerfed, but they've never been buffed despite it being a simple change that everyone wants. So instead of buffing her that way, the devs just expect us to run 2 add-ons together to make her dash playable. And one of those add-ons actually increases her charge time, which is the same bad design you see with the chainsaw killers.

Was she weak before her nerf?
No, she was fine. In a game where mindgames are the most skillful thing, that's what she and her counterplay were all about. No there's no mindgame because survivors know exactly where she is.

Huntress is 110% and I don't think she is garbage. The power should be balanced around a killer's movement speed depending on the strength of the power. Of course 110% isnt as fast as 115% and is noticeable in a chase without a killers power in play.
I said outside of using their power. Huntress is a perfect example. When she runs out of hatchet's she can't do anything. Because she has to reload to get her power, she gives survivors plenty of time recuperate. You're at the mercy of the reload/cooldown these killer's powers have when playing them. It gives survivors an unneeded advantage over you.

Spirit isn't a garbage killer even after several nerf passes and she has always been 110%. So, I disagree with your statement that 110% killers are always garbage.
No, she's a dead killer. The people who are 4King with her are playing against survivors that are beyond chill. She's nowhere near S tier, so I'm not sure why I keep seeing her placed there. She gives more info to the survivors for free than she gets on them, making them completely in control of the chase. She can't see or hear anything. Like, in what way are the devs expecting people to play her?
