how do i counter plague

I know how to play against plague but if my teammates cleanse how am i suppose to play currently I NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER AND I MEAN NEVER CLEANSE against a plague unless its like end game and i cleanse cross map from the exit gates... If my teammates cleanse i cleanse but like how do i loop a killer that can 1 shot i can try ducking but i cant loop for longer than like 20 seconds against a half decent plague with her power (depends on the map aswell)

like honestly i feel like just leaving some matches we get no ingame chat feature or any way to communicate like what do they want me to do? use the "come" emote on my teammate go to a pool of devotion and shake my head??

  • If she has her power, you need to create a lot of distance and hug your corners as tightly as you can. Avoid animation locks like windows or pallets. Some of the principles are the same as running a Huntress. Playing for a stun is risky against an experienced Plague, but you can fake a pallet drop and keep running to try and create distance.

  • There’s really nothing you can do to stop inexperienced teammates to not cleanse.. When plague is her vile purge you should hold w to a four block gym/ long wall gym etc cause it’s hard for her to use her puke at those gyms and as you’re looping you can make it think you are going to loop/greed one more time as she has no los on you and as you pass the jungle gym pallet you need to time a vacuum pallet stun by 180ing around to face the plague and vacuum stun her out of her vile purge.. it’s a very comp pallet stun that also requires the proper frame window to time. You stun killers faster with pallets when you face them rather then slamming the pallet looking behind you.

yea i did i looped her for 30 sec without even being infected then i work on a gen with meg she worked on it with me (both of us infected) she cleansed 15 meters away and started working on the gen with instantly after so she got infected from the gen like 10 sec after cleansing xd

yea i know pallet stuns removes the power but its hard to pallet stun someone that knows it too they play pretty laid back and respect

Yeah killer in this game is hard to play

yea i managed to loop her for 20 30 sec without being sick but at the end of the day there is almost nothing i can do as you say playing for the stun was almost impossible she knew about it and the pallets were mainly "unsafe" (with unsafe i mean had half walls she could see over)... and than my teammates griefed or whatever they did meg cleansed walked on a infected gen and started working on it 10 sec after cleansing so she became infected again... but might aswell just have been MMR

  • i do main killer because soloQ is horrible but on the other hand killer is pretty hard too since survivor generally have stronger perks CoH specifically makes split pressure useless and i play twins too...

  • If your teammates are cleansing then you should as well. Constant cleansing neuters her power to a greater degree than occasional cleansing imo.

  • Impersonating Masache, from the DA series:

"when facing a plague, you must deny her of her power. Failing that you can then loop her like a God.

If you can neither deny her power nor loop her when she has it, you will most likely die"

  • Don't cleanse, there is literally 0 reason to ever do so ever since her latest buff. If you do, you're just going to be broken again within the next 30 seconds.

Plague is a strong killer. I'd reckon her stronger than Artist, topping A tier and almost pushing into S.

If you cleanse constantly, she's going to mow through people. If you don't cleanse and she is halfway decent, she's going to OHK you (she's basically a perma T3 Myers at that point).

The trick is to cleanse cleverly, and to try to avoid getting sick for as long as possible. If you cleanse, make sure to use a pool as far from the current gens and other survivors as possible. Never give her a pool near a hooked person.

Sufficiently tight loops and structures can make it difficult for her to land a puke, and she has a pretty weak early game - try to get a gen done as fast as possible.

    If she snowballs, you're done.

I build specifically in the hopes that people never cleanse. Plaything, Retribution, Pentimento, BBQ (for BP) or Discordance (if I'm leery of the group of survivors I'm facing).

Far too many people do this, and it's almost an easier game than if they had cleansed constantly.

  • If your team cleanse the best thing you can do is try and cleanse so all pools are corrupted that way she gets less uses from it.

I would say cleanse when needed, normally youd never cleanse but if your team are done feel bad for doing it, just loop tight and the best you can, try avoid windows and dropping pallets.

Keep in mind pallet stuns remove her power.

  • If your team cleanses early get yourself sick and start using pools of devotion as easy bait lures around the map. Plague will end up breaking chases for them and hopefully give your teammates time to do their thing

  • There is no "right" way to play against plague; if your team cleanses, you should too.

  • If ur teammates are cleansing left and right it might be a good to cleanse to. You can force plague to take one fountain while the rest turn back to water.

  • Team doesn't cleanse = she's just an extremely loopable m1 killer so just improve your looping skills.

Team does cleanse = You take advantage of her slow wind up and the arced travel time of projectiles meaning you hug walls tight and can crouch avoid the vomit. She's honestly quite easily loopable even with corrupt. She doesn't exert much map pressure so y'all shouldn't be pumping the gens out pretty quick when you don't have to worry about healing. Just make her waste a lot of time at loops by making her respect pallet drops (for the vomit over similar to Huntress or to simply not lose her power).

She's also just quite predictable at loops because of how tall she is. It makes it much harder to mind game as her.

blueberry, what add-ons do you think are best for plague now a days? Iridescent seal+Devotte amulet feels like it gives the most automatic corrupt pukes throughout the match but it feels like corrupt puke feels too easy from hugging corners.

Incensed Ointment+Emetic potion feels like quickest way to apply broken but I really feel the wind-up slowdown without rubbing oil. Rubbing Oil+Vile Emetic really helps for hugging corners on corrupt puke but the nerf to rubbing oil's wind-up speed and the rework of vile emetic really feels like plague is forced to specialize in either corrupt puke builds or sickness builds.

I really wish rubbing oil was 100% and the Vile emetic stayed the same 100% sickness increase because it allowed plague to be a jack of all trades. The annoying server validation on her puke is really annoying as well :/

What are your thought of the best add-ons for plague?

  • If they're gonna be stupid and cleanse, then you cleanse too. It might cause them to go down to her red puke later on, but hey, they didn't think twice about doing that to you.

  • Stop playing soloq, here best counter for her.
