"I don't really think it's a skill issue if a randomly assigned team member you can't communicate with is dying fast and that makes it game over for you even if you're amazing. There's also the matter of matchmaking. Pretty sure everyone with thousands of hours has had random baby survivors show up in their lobbies. Those matches are decided before they even begin. It's not hard for a killer to spot a low level player they can prey on, especially more so with profile browsing being permitted."-

Its a skill issue because that specific survivor is bad, aka skill issue. Yeah sure you can have baby survivors ect but thats the fault of the baby survivor as per your argument of "skill issue". If killers who are bad/worse can't complain in a 4v1, you sure as hell can't if your teammates are bad. If tunneling/slugging shouldn't be allowed because "just get good bro", then I'd argue that the survivors as a whole are responsible for "getting good" too. Thats the fallaciousness of your get good argument.

"The game doesn't really have a line of survivors though. There's currently no line on any server for survivor. The only time I see one—and it's comparatively small—is during peak hours when SWFs are on. And I haven't seen one of those lines since Jason came out. I highly doubt many people would wait in a 10min line for soloq."- How many times am i going to have to re-iterate this. There needs to be 4 survivors per killer. So even if killer is 30% of the overall playerbase, there will be queues because theres not enough killers to fill the amount of survivors. Just because killers have a queue A) doesn't mean theres more people playing killer then survivor and so B) doesn't mean killer is the overpopulated role your making it out to be.

"And this is the first event aside from 2v8 that's somewhat survivor-sided that I can recall. The remote hooking and pallet breaking in the previous events was just ridiculous. But even with this one supposedly being so busted for survivor (my killer stats disagree) there remains a line for killer. Is everyone cheesing with Bubba and Legion? No idea. I'm not, and I didn't play anymore of it then I had to to get the unlocks as survivor. But whatever is going on in there, people are will to wait in line for it. If killer was in a bad state, and even more so in the event, there should be a line of survivors waiting for their free wins."-

I'd argue chaos shuffle is survivor-sided because theres 16 perks that are rng instead of 4, meaning your guaranteed to get more meta/good perks than killer defacto. Also, 2v8 is a big one that your just bringing up as if it wasnt here for most of a year.

"But even with this one supposedly being so busted for survivor (my killer stats disagree) there remains a line for killer. Is everyone cheesing with Bubba and Legion? " there isn't a line for killer tho. Its a 1 min queue rn for me max, usually 1-2 mins, can be less if peak times like now. Im living in heaven with killer queues to the point if i want to play survivor I have to actually queue it rather than survive as i wait. I shall also attach a screenshot of the bp bonus being on survivor rn. never done it before so idk how itll go. considering usually theres a 1.5x-2x on survivor for me even before jason came out, this is astonishing.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/LI1IQT8QSEB9/dbd-queue-times.png

" But whatever is going on in there, people are will to wait in line for it. If killer was in a bad state, and even more so in the event, there should be a line of survivors waiting for their free wins."- see point before. There is actually a wait for survivors in my lobbies. Its almost back to 2018 killer queue times and current survivor times are a minute for me (instead of instant). This is insane.

"I want pretty much the same balance you do but I think it's a pipe dream. It would require them to stop churning out endless new content and focus on what they have. They tried step one with the anti-tunnel ptb and look how that went. I've said it many times but this community is it's own worst enemy. They complain about the meta and the state of things but any even minor change is met with resistance. If there can't be a first step there will be no other steps either. Even the last few survivor perks have been met with mass resistance, so the meta just keeps on going."

Mostly agree with this point, just gonna say just because the latest perks have been met with mass resistance (specifically the elusive perk which was beyond broken) doesn't mean every perk has or will be. This is an outlier, last survivors perks werent anywhere near as badly protested en mass, because they were nowhere near as strong as them.

If a 100 hour survivor gets matched with a 5000 hour killer you can't say it's their fault. It's impossible for them to meet at that level. In that case, it is actually the game's fault. I got matched with a team of perkless comp players on Badham once that obliterated me. I could say it's also the game's fault but we might well have been in the same MMR bracket, I just wasn't anywhere near their level. But I do have a higher that goal KR. A 100 hour player matching with someone in upper MMR would not be their fault on either side.

If killers who are bad/worse can't complain in a 4v1, you sure as hell can't if your teammates are bad

Lord knows they can and will complain. The problem with this argument is that the killer is solely responsible for themselves, whereas the survivor's teammates can doom them by no fault of their own. Go look in the current killer anxiety thread (or any of the past ones because this place is stuck in a time loop) and you'll see this one common thread that pops up constantly: they're stressed because the responsibility falls on them and them alone. But that's the role, and that's what I like about. And it's also why these serial complainers offend me so much. It's supposed to be the role of personal responsibility but for some reason it attracts people who don't want to be responsible when they lose, so they blame everything but themselves. When I get beat as killer I get angry and frustrated but I don't run to the forum looking for validation for an external source of blame.

I'm not really complaining about survivor either. I personally don't think either role is a in a bad state. The only real issue I have is egerious cheese, like 4man slugging at 5 gens or hard tunneling immediately as a path to an easy win.

doesn't mean killer is the overpopulated role your making it out to be.

It's not overpopulated, it's just not as undesirable as the forum wants to think. Everyday we have posts about how unplayable killer is and how weak killers are and how survivor is braindead and they win every match, statements that not only don't track with my experiences or the ones of friends, but that never seem to have any absyallmy low personal KRs posted to show just how unwinnable it is. The complainers are still winning their matches.

I'm not sure what you're showing me. The bonus goes to the role they need more of, which is survivor, because there a line for killer. These are the current queues:

    Screenshot_20260712_150132.jpg

The only line for survivor is in Australia, but they also have a line for killer. So too many SWFs and killers and not enough solos, I guess? Normally the waits change based on time of day. It's not normal for killer to have the line everywhere at all times.

I disagree with Cross Examination being broken. It's popped up a lot in my killer matches and I've paid close attention to it. It's caused me no trouble. The 5s is too short for me not to just find the trial again with basic guessing. Assuming they can even break LoS. Even on Lery's and Trickster's I have no problem. It's extremely situational which, to me, is low value. It was at least an interesting new thing but will be in the trash heap soon.

"The problem isn't neccessarily you, it's anyone on the team being tunneled. One person being bad at chase can land the killer an easy win and an instant lose for the other survivors. Even if their match isn't over time-wise, it's over success-wise. I find this much more prevalent on survivor. Killer, I've always got a chance to turn it around. I've won matches where I had one hook by end game. There's no sudden turnaround like that for survivors. Time spent isn't necessarily a measurement of quality. Being trapped in an unwinnable match isn't enjoyable for any length of time."

Id argue sadly thats part of it being a 4v1, it doesn't make it any less of a skill issue on the survivor side. Its annoying and less fun, sure, but its still sadly a skill issue here.

"Every event is complained about. That's all people do here. Lights Out is coming back and I'm excited for a fresher wave of whining. I, too, will throw in my typical 2v8 hate when the time arrives. That's the forum. Take it with a grain of salt. The event still has a line for killer despite it all."- and the game still has a line of survivors so soloqueue (which makes up 48% of survivors) must be fine????? Killer queue's in the events are low, the lowest I've seen in years. 3 mins is the longest I've had to wait as killer in the event, most the time its less than a minute. Surely this shows something in comparable to the usual 5 min minimum killer queue times.

"Pretty much everything in this game is based on luck and RNG. If I load into Fallen Refuge as probably any killer it's gg for the survivors unless theyre all very good. Last time I played that map someone immediately noise spammed and chased me around to die. But if I load into a match as Henry on Trickster's Delusion I'm going to struggle. I'm pretty sure it's like that on purpose, to vary the stress and struggle level of the players and force up and down emotions."- oh i agree, But it didn't used to be. Your example was old 2018-2019 dbd which had like 3-5 different maps (with variations) rather than the 12 we have right now.

"The issue is people not identifying what the problem is, they just say "nerf survivor". What's highly effective against one killer isn't against another. Pallet density is a good example. It doesn't hinder me at all on any of my top 10 most played killers. The M1s I just throw on Fire Up or Brutal. Everyone else is fine. But SB+Vigil on 4 people against my 4.4 main might actually lose me the match, while high mobility instadown killers like Oni and Billy won't even flinch. That's what makes global changes so challenging but people want to oversimplify."——- Agreed, Hence why I mentioned that all killers need to be balanced (not buffed), the S and even A tier killers will need nerfs, the D/C/B tier killers buffed accordingly and survivor buffed so soloqueue isn't as horrendous and then balanced around B/A tier killers. Thats what I want, what that would look like on a killer by killer basis idk, I could spend some time and make a spreadsheet and give an idea of my idea for balances for killers. But buffs to survivors would mostly be focused around communication/info buffs, like (just spitballing) getting a small sound notification where a survivor drops a pallet, kindred basekit, a communication wheel and then some nerfs to killer effeciency tactics like slugging/tunnelling because killers will all be brought up to A tier where they can deal without it. Then we can balance where needed and see if tunneling/slugging is needed against soloqueue with comms/info spread.

I don't really think it's a skill issue if a randomly assigned team member you can't communicate with is dying fast and that makes it game over for you even if you're amazing. • Prayer Tablet for constant infection, Lethal and Black Incense for near permanent aura read, Thano for slowdown, Fire Up or Brutal to make the path clearer, and a fourth perk of your choice. I was using Dying Light but it got hit by Diminishing.

Some teams figure it out and cleanse. Depending on how far along the match is I either reinfect or surprise them by using the M2. I don't like the arc of her M2 though so I try to avoid that.

Agreed, theres no need to be combative in this, we're all here to have fun (not saying your being combative, saying "mains" are).

"The only time I've ever won or lost in 5 mins or less is if I as killer blew it, or the killer I was playing against blew it. People do bad and they lose. Is it only a problem when killers lose this fast though? I've wrapped up many a 4k at 5 gens as killer in under 5 mins. I've also been full team slugged by instadown killers running Infectious/Coul in similar time."- I can make the same argument though. The only time I've ever been tunnelled out before 2 gens is if I blew it, because 90% of the time the haste/endurance should get you to a pallet and then you should be able to loop/mindgame a killer for a while. This argument seems like removing agency from the survivor here, ngl.

"I've been playing the event exclusively as killer right now and having a blast. I'm going to be really unhappy when it's gone and I just can't play anymore because the queues are too long. I watch the queues daily and I play daily. It's been abnormally high since Jason came out, and it not because tons of survivors were queuing up to play against him. I myself just ended a two week break from playing survivor because of how miserable endless tunneling Jasons was. At the the time of me writing this there are 3 servers with over 5 min queues for killer in the event, and half the queues in 1v4 are over 6 mins. But I played 35-40 survivor matches yesterday and didn't get a single Jason, so killers are still waiting in line even with Jason cooling."— I agree, survivors dont want to play vs jason, people want to play as jason so will play killer even if its not fun to play to play jason. And I'm glad your having a blast on the event, genuinely. I want every player to have a blast on it, but the consensus (as shown by shorter killer queue times and the forum posts) is most killers aren;t.

"I disagree about it being widely accepted. What I see is CCs complaining and their followers parroting, and then a narrative is created. Most long time players I know seem to think the days of infinites, gen tapping, and old DH were worse. Both sides have been adjusted. The game is just different now, and new killers are pretty much all A tiers on release now. What killer you choose will shape your view. I'm not gonna play as Trapper and complain when I struggle."

Thats a take you can have, I'd argue that gen times are at an all time low because survivor perks allow them to streamline that process (I've been playing since 2018, so remember all the things youre saying) Old school regression was stronger (old ruin/PGTW) and back when gen tapping and old DH were a thing, Legion (the repeated stabs legion), old freddy with insane slowdown, nurse could have up to 7 blinks and hillbilly was the demon he used to be. Now, things for the most part are a lot weaker and survivors have a plethora of perks to combat styles of play they don't like, killer queue times are worse (making each bad game feel even worse since they've queued for up to 15 mins for a game at worst times) and theres a lot more maps making it a lot more rng dependant for most killers.

I will agree that a lot of the newer killers have been strong-insane. Ghoul/jason are the best examples, but even houndmaster/springtrap aren't weak (maybe high B). Sadly thats power creep for you, and with more going into the game the devs give killers more to be able to deal with it. Hag/doctor werent made to stand up to the current meta.

"What killer you choose will shape your view. I'm not gonna play as Trapper and complain when I struggle." This I heavily disagree with. People are allowed to say X is broken, and should voice it. They have with Jason. People should also be able to say X is weak as hell and I don't enjoy playing killer unless I play 3/4 out of the 10 strong killers that can consistently put up a fight. Because both sides fun matters, thats the whole point. Tunneling/bleed to death massively impact a survivors fun, so should be dealt with whilst keeping balance. The same weight should be given to that claim as "restricting killers to play specific killers and builds also heavily impact a killers fun, so should be dealt with whilst keeping balance". Both are about each sides fun. I prioritise neither. I hope you can do the same.

The only time I've ever been tunnelled out before 2 gens is if I blew it, because 90% of the time the haste/endurance should get you to a pallet and then you should be able to loop/mindgame a killer for a while

I've seen survivors win in 4 mins a decent amount of times, I've also seen survivors not get tunneling. Hyperbolising isn't helping the point here mate.

But yeah, mains are an issue on this forum 100%.

"It's funny to use the long killer queues as an example since they just show how desirable playing killer is right now no matter how much whining there is."- This is wrong for a plethora of reasons:

    1. there needs to be 4 survivors to 1 killer, so even if there was (in every 100) 30 killers to 70 survivors, there'd still be a wait time.
    2. Killer queue times have gotten worse since the event due to 2 reasons: Killers found the event bullshit unless they played specific killers/builds (not justifying hex jason, that builds bs) and survivors have found playing against those killers horrendously unfun (legion/plague/hex jason/ bubba) and there is 2 queues splitting the playerbase. I saw a 2.5x bp bonus on killer in event but a 1.25 bonus on survivor outside of the event, which was insane since I rarely see survivor bp bonus'
    3. Killer is widely accepted to be in the worst state its been in for a long time, but the new killer came out somewhat recently and people really vibe with playing jason.

Here is the main 3 reasons why that statement doesn't track. But yeah, i think tunneling should be punished. I also think gens should take longer to casualise the game. Just my 2 cents.

Yes, mains are an issue, and part of that issue is all the mains who think anyone who disagrees with them is on the enemy team. That is just telling on yourself. Not everyone has an intense emotional attachment to a video game role.

The only time I've ever won or lost in 5 mins or less is if I as killer blew it, or the killer I was playing against blew it. People do bad and they lose. cool you arnt but most players do use them aggresivly.

sure i was learning oni but that shouldnt mean the games over in under 3 minutes if gens took longer killers wouldnt need to tunnel as often its that simple tunneling derives from the lack of time killer has. but we wont get any anti genrush changes but we will for sure see them try anti tunnel anti slug again and will fore sure make the same mistakes. the devs pander to survivors sense they make more money off them its simple the devs also talk about us vs them with the devs being survivors how the word things in patch notes shows they are survivor sided with a great example being pallet dencity being called a "quality of life change" thats the biggest load of horse crap its a buff to survivors and a nerf to killers objectivly. you can also see it in how thgey use kill switchs infinit leagon power kill switched before people even knew why infini9t items unkill switched and told players how to abuse it.

Thinking the people who make this product have a personal bias is delusional. That's the view of someone with an extreme bias that they project onto othe people. Their bias is toward making money.

Diminishing returns effected gen speed perks much, much more than slowdown perks, which were barely touched. Meanwhile, the anti-tunnel ptb lasted like 2 days. I know how much people love to repeat this thing about survivors making them more money but I've spent much more on killer. I don't need to buy a survivor. They're all the same and I can get their perks from the shrine. But if l want to play a licensed killer with a unique kit I have to buy them. Considering the queue times and the weeks of endless Jasons I'm pretty sure he just made them record money, as Springtrap had done before.

You want to talk about kill switches? Wesker just went several months grabbing people through solid objects and hitting them multi-meters past a vault. They killswitched him for a week and turned him back on still bugged, despite many cries for it to be fixed. You're just focusing on what fuels your own bias and ignoring the other half.

  • "Comments from killer mains." So you want the biased perspective? There aren't more survivors in the forum. Most people play both. Most of the pallets are crap amd hard to get value out of. They don't bother me as killer and barely help me as survivor. If you'd like to reduce pallets in the form of garbage 50/50s and exchange them for strong loops than yeah, let's reduce the pallets but make all of them worthwhile. Do you want the main building nerfs rescinded too? The map sizes unshrunk? I kinda doubt it.

Is the new trend going to be saying "killer anxiety" every time people want something nerfed?

The problem is that Survivors aren’t afraid of the Killer anymore

This mentality is the problem right here. People want the survivors to run in terror from them and not be bold like it was when they were 100 hours in. The fear goes away and the killer doesn't feel the power they desire anymore. They aren't going to be scared of you if they know how to play. It's just a fact.

fast track is still better then old old fast track its perma gen progress compared to normal gen progress so no its still better by a large margen the old old fast track

killer queue times are usaly longer sense they only need to be 20% of the player base so if half the people wanted to play killer and half wanted to play survior queue times for killer will be higher but right now my queue times are under a minite meaning killer area probably making up just over 20% of my servers population and im guessing most of that is due to jason being added pumping up killer queue times before 10.0 i had bp bonus on killer about half the day.

the game is an asim tunneling is a completely okay thing to do and if survivors didnt use anti tunnel so aggressively i bet you you would see less people out so fast. surviors behavior and the devs have made tunneling needed. i personly dont tunnel but thats because i slug and you cant really do both sense hooking is so worthless for killer and helps survivors more.

also just because you cant do gens fast doesnt mean others cant i have had a 3 games this month under 3 minutes 2 as survivor got parred with 2 3man swfs and got chased while they did gens insanly fast and ones as killer when i was learning oni.

Yeah that must be why I see no one run it anymore. People at least used the original version a little.

Killer queue times were instant for me at night. Now there's a wait. It'll go back up even more when the banquet ends. It was 10 mins in Australia today. That's not the norm. This woe-is-me killer narrative is just not true. People want to play killer.

I'm playing in a SWF and no one is using any anti-tunnel perks aggressively. The tunneling is still constant. Stop blaming people for other people's actions.

So you're learning a killer and did bad and that's the survivors fault?

and survivors can win in under 3 minutes https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fN_ZUUNTzic

so what do you tell the killers that have longer queues and a shorter game. if your tunneled out as a survivor you can instantly get into another match killers cant so i would argue its worse to gen run then to tunnel. but this forms is so survivor sided because they are the majority its not suprising tunneling slugging are a give consern but genrushing and bulling the killer is so low they released that horrible rework fast tack thats still 3 brand new parts if used in a swift and hey look another reason to tunnel out instead of spreading hooks. the devs encouringe slugging and tunneling with how they make perks and how survivors use anti tunnel aggressively which the devs have yet to address.

A thing that almost never happens. Yet tunneling happens constantly. I've never played a survivor session without a game-start hard tunnel happening to someone. I've never won a survivor match in 3 mins.

The forum isn't survivor sided, there's just some extremely biased people that are only invested in one role and can't understand most people play the whole game. And you realize Fast Track was nerfed to be worse than it originally was right?

It's funny to use the long killer queues as an example since they just show how desirable playing killer is right now no matter how much whining there is.

but tunneling is not bad just like genrushing is not bad its just doing your role optimally. why do survivors have all these rules killers have to follow why does the survivors fun and wants seem to overshadow the needs and wants of the killer player. survivors dont owe killers the courtesy of not doing gens and killers do not owe survivors the courtesy of spreading hooks. i would say the only bad people here are the ones trying to force their rules onto others thats evil and shows how little respect you have for the other side.

Because a survivor can't remove the killer from the game 2 mins in. What you're complaining about is survivors maybe winning; what survivors are complaining about is not being able to play at all.

  • I'm not a survivor main (contrary to popular belief) and I don't use the referenced perks, but second chance is a made up term. If the perk exists you can use it how you want. There are often consequences though, so there's also risk, but nothing says you have to use your perks passively and maybe they'll do something.

As for the fair thing, you already have plenty of people that think anything is fair. I also have people doing this to me as Henry. If someone wants to jump in a locker with their DS when I have World Breaker up like an idiot I eat the stun and down them again immediately. It's not a fairness thing, it's just responding to aggressive plays wirh aggressive reactions. They asked for my attention and I gave it to them.

increased hook timer, anti camp, stopping some powers, no more grab off unhooking. i only count 4 with base kit bt being 5.

That's like saying pallets are a perk, or the extra 10s added to gens is a perk. Game mechanics and adjustments aren't perks.

Just don't click on that option if they ever put it in the game. As I said before, other modern games have this in-game. You shouldn't have to use 2 devices to do 1 thing. It's all about ease of use/accessibility.

You can access the tracker through the game once you sign up. You don't need a second device. It's just not in the game itself.

And people won't just not look at it if it's in their face.

"Just add one more basekit anti-hooking perk bro" (it would make a total of 5 now excluding basekit bt)

"Just add one more lane bro"

Seriosly, its easy win only if survivors allowed it to be via not doing gens and tunneled survivor fall in 15 seconds of chase, also how its ruining game performance if tunneled survivor still engage in chase with all unhook protection? its surely making match quicker for everyone but it doesnt cut skill expression out of it

5 basekit anti-hooking perks besides BT? What?

I agree with almost all of this post:

"If they changed the wincon they wouldn't have to change the game so much"- people will still tunnel if you make it so they get more from unique hooks because someone will always be easier to chase/ the weak link, and tunneling off the hook means that weak link is down a healthstate. Even with invisibility we've seen in the event killers who have headphones can trace survivors and so It would need to be no noise/ no collision with environment so no feasible way to trace them which would take way more coding. But yeah absolutely.

I'm saying if the wincon was changed and you didn't win from just getting 4 kills, like if tunneling or 4man slugging actually made you lose becuase you didn't meet the unique hook requirement, but unique hooks made you win even without four kills. The game should reward hooks, which are the real skill. 8 hooks from chases with no kills is more impressive than 4 kills with 4 hooks because you slugged everyone, yet the game doesn't reward that. It would also mean survivor wicon could become a team win instead of just counting personal escapes, which would allow for a more team-minded game.

I'm also saying the invisibilty would make you 100% unfindable. Like yeah no tinkly noise, no footsteps, no sound at all. This one was designed to be fairly easy to counter. The anti-tunnel version should be absolute.

Maybe its just a mixture of my region, MMR bracket, and the times of day I play, but I get a surprising amount of Henry's and Krasues, and I swear over the past 3 years I've played against all 15 twins players in NA at least twice each. So whenever I get a game that isn't Jason, Ghoul, or Nurse, its a Krause/Henry or the occasional 1% pickrate killer from the rest of the roster. Something funny like a Clown or Pig. But that's one out of every 10 games probably on a good day. I once had 4 Ghoul games back-to-back, broken up by 2 back-to-back Nurse games, then a Henry, then back to Ghoul, then Nurse again, and a Henry again. Let's just say I didn't have a good time playing that day, and went outside to go stare at grass. Watching it grow was genuinely more entertaining than playing competitive dead by daylight every match with Timmy-Two-Hook and Pre-Drop-Patty on my team

I get a good mixture. My 30-day ER is always between 50-60% so I don't think I'm in the baby leagues, but I almost never see Krasue. I don't think I've seen more than 30 total and I play hundreds of matches a month. I did get three Twins in one week though. Didn't enjoy that.

I'm a Henry main in NA so maybe it's me you're seeing if you play late at night.

  • @TWiXT said:

If the Devs Release the Kill Rate Stats for say the months of May through August, Jason, being the only released killer for that period, and thus the most played, will undoubtedly have inflated stats. We've seen this with Krasue, Ghoul, Spirit, hell even OG Freddy who was one of the worst to actually play, but still ended up with a High Kill Rate because the stats came out a month after his release.

Basically, Demanding the stats get released now will show you what you WANT to see: That he's the most lethal killer.

BUUUUT, that's not due to his actual kill rate, it's because he's currently being played way more than the other killers, which is throwing off the overall stats. If you want accurate stats, you'll have to wait until the devs release them roughly a year after they come out. People will be playing him less, some will have chosen to "main" him, others will have dropped him entirely or just play occasionally so they can go back to their favorites etc, the point is that Even if you saw his stats right now, it will be inaccurate because of his current popularity. Don't Believe me? Here's the Killer stats they released for when Krasue came out:

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/7ZAT8PXNFYST/image.png

Now, all things considered… Do you REALLY think Krasue is the No. 1 Killer in High MMR right now? Or even for the past 6 months? Do you see a lot of Krasue's Just dominating your matches right now? Hell, how about the Stranger Things Vecna? I bet you see more of them than the No. 1 Killer as of September 2025-February 2026, but I doubt they're as overbearingly lethal as this shows.

I hope you get my point.

Krasue was busted during this period. She was a free win killer. So the data is useful in that way, to show that an overtuned killer is at the top spot.

People know the counterplay now but Henry is still strong. I don't know if that's "overbearingly" lethal. My own KR with him is a little higher than that and I'm mid. A very good player would still thrash with him.

Popularity has nothing to do with higher stats tho. It's a KR average not a playrate. Nobody plays Twins and they're up there. Lots of people playing a killer should give you a better number anyway, because you get more data.

Which is concerning because this is the 2nd time it's happened, Ghoul was the last time, where I asked this exact question.

We're never going to know the real numbers with these little slices they give us. There are too many matches tossed. I'd like to see the matches with DCs included alongside the ones without.

  • We never will because DCs get tossed from the stats and he's had a lot of DCs. They're going to throw us some bs number like 65%. They'd never let a KR of 75% or something be known. That's too much ammo to give people.

Honestly, If they just removed collision off hook and increased the time of the basekit BT with added nuance like "if you are within the killers red stain and 5m from another survivor you lose it" which doesnt apply at endgame id be fine with it or something like that. Something that doesn't allow you to bodyblock/take a hit even just by staying in the same direction when a lunge wouldve made the hit on the other survivor, stuff like that. I personally don't hate hard tunneling, with DS can usually waste a lot of the killers time in soloqueue and that allows me to loop them for another 40+seconds. But it is frustrating. But I also recognise its the killers objective to kill, so they need to get someone out do it, its your job, and it does make their job easier. So yeah, definitely a skill issue on both ends, killers relying on tunneling + survivors complaining about it are both skill issues.

But honestly the only way to feasibly remove tunneling/slugging/all other unfun playstyles is to casualise the game, make it easier on killer to apply pressure naturally whilst also punishing the unfun but often efficient ways of killing because it makes the game more fun for both sides. My suggestions usually fall into some sort of reward for hooking/killing but then heavily punishing tunneling/slugging (basekit infinite UB/ increased duration of basekit BT and maybe even basekit DS at that point).

You wouldn't even need the basekit BT anymore. 15s of invisibility and invulnerability could replace it and off-hook body blocking would become a thing of the past.

The game is only uncasual because some people have decided it is. There's no ranked mode or visible MMR or anything to make this game serious except people choosing so. Even your stats aren't visible directly through the game. This is just an easy game to feed your ego, because MMR brackets are so broad and matchmaking is so loose, and many people aren't taking the game as seriously so wins are often easy against them. Everyone has seen people who just give up when they get early tunneled, and then the killer gets the easy win they so desperately want handed to them.

I think the game would be in a better place if success was measured through hooks and not kills. "The entity hungers" seems to bother a lot of people. I was recently saying something like a blood meter that fills up instead of sacrifices as the goal, and you get more blood through unique hooks, but double hooking wouldn't increase it at all. If they changed the wincon they wouldn't have to change the game so much.

  • Pumpkinhead, Candyman, The Evil Within, Dead Space, and Phantasm. If they do more bands I'd like to see Ghost for t-shirts and killer skins. They're such a obvious choice and a popular band but they never seem to get mentioned.

I'd also like Psycho but man-with-knife has been heavily covered already.

  • I'm sure some people will simply call skill issue over this

They shouldn't be saying that because it's also a skill issue if you have to tunnel and camp this intensely to coast your way to an easy win.

But yes there should be something in place to stop the killer from just ruining everyone's match 2 mins in. It'd be nice if they combined the invincibility and invisibility into anti-tunnel. If they make it so the survivor has no collison and also can't be perceived in any way it would be impossible to abuse. Elusive off hook was a good idea that shouldn't have been tossed. They were far too heavy handed in scrapping every bit of the anti-tunnel ptb.

  • I agree with these accept for Deputy's Badge. You shouldn't get free gen regress without a perk just for existing. It needs a totally different function. I also want the KI gone entirely. I don't know why they're still slapping that crap on modern killers.

I will comment though, he's not the only killer with a fast teleport at match start. Dracula gets his shapeshifting—and thus a mobility/teleport power—immediately, and it's a lot like Jason's OE (just not overtuned). OE should look more like Dracula's bats.

Dredge should be able to teleport immediately though.

  • I prefer it as an optional side thing. The stat page ruined my mindset towards this game. I'd rather you have to go out of your way to access it.

  • Diversity? How many Twins, Krasues, and Henrys do you see? Ghoul, on the other hand...

Jason's tracking in OE is superior to Legions', in addition to his ranged ability and built in moris to prevent saves. All Legion has is KI, runs a little faster, and easy injuries, they can't even down in their power outside of the 5-piece combo, which is easily countered by anyone with a room-temp IQ by either spreading out or pallet stunning. I laughed HARD when BHVR banned them from 2v8, with all the pallets they were easy to bully.

Scratch marks aren't even really a buff, more a QoL update than anything. I do find it amusing you think KI is braindead, when we have perks like Self-Preservation, Vigil + Sprint Burst, Windows, etc

Jason being overstuffed isn't the standard we should be using but it kind of isn't 100% superior. If all four people crouch Jason get zero information. There is no similar counter to Legion aside from spreading out and hoping he picks the wrong direction.

More than one thing can be braindead. I hate SB and Vigil. I dont use Windows but it's not necessarily braindead. There's no way for people to know what pallets their teammates have already used. SP isn't doing that much more than a locker can do against aura. Killers have many perks that activate from them doing either nothing at all or from them failing at a task.

Why istead thats kinda stupid, he should have scratch marks and pools of blood like any other killer and only time it should be blocked like its now is when he injured that survivor with feral frenzy but why he doesnt have same tracking as any other killer when he enters frenzy and didnt hit anyone its stupid.

Another archaic part from time where it made sence but its totaly unacceptable nowdays just like trapper steping into his own traps or pinhead breaking his chains etc. litellary the relic of old times.

Because Killer Instinct is, again, the most braindead, handholdy mechanic in the whole game. Legion has a terrible design. He gets the most free hits of anyone. If you can't land the first hit with LoS while going super fast that's a you problem, because the other three hits are free. There's no reason for Legion to have this when he gets a big red beacon to follow. Like what does he need scrach marks for?

  • I'm winning most of my banquet matches. Pick an appropriate killer and learn how to play around the effect. Most aren't as good as they look on paper.

  • @100PercentBPMain said:

second chance means nothing to me because the term itself is meant to be derogatory.

people get upset but if we weren't meant to account for all gens being done or being killed off then the game would just end when the gens pop or survivors die instantly like MLO but that's not how the game works. 4 survivors being alive in the end game is a realistic scenario and there's nothing wrong for wanting to prepare for that. I'm not always interested in "first chance" perks like Lethal/Corrupt or "Homer Simpson with his fat rolls scrunched back with chip clips" builds like full hex builds. I like to please the Entity by offering her quality over quantity, and moring a 0 hook survivor with Rancor is peak.

I've had situations where killers were confused why I said "gg nice bloodwarden play" because all they get is salt. We all have 4 perk slots, we can do what we want with them. There is no right or wrong way to perk up. I personally love using end game builds on Springtrap because it gives me practice with no regression to sharpen my game sense but it gives me peace of mind to preserve my mentals for the worst games I could have (being bullied on Badham, for example)

There have been times where 2nd chance has been overtuned, but that's all perks. NOED is a nothingburger these days ever since we got the aura bloom on the totem. That was a cool nerf without actually touching the perk.

second chance means nothing to me because the term itself is meant to be derogatory.

This exactly. I don't use this term and think it's idiotic. Perks are meant to do things. That's all there is to it.

  • Much to my surprise, I agree with much of this. But there's this one thing here:

You're not as good at killer as you think you are.

    Two things.

First, I know I'm not good. Yet I still maintain a higher than goal KR even when most of my opponents are better than me. I actually don't have to get good on my A tier main to win more than I lose. As you said, when I lose, I'm very aware that I was the problem.

Second, many of the killers who complain about balance or the game being survivor-sided aren't just winning, they're winning constantly. They post overall KRs that are drastically above goal. Whining isn't the same as losing and there's a lot of deception that goes on. These people won't be satisfied until they have the 90-100% KRs they feel entitled too.

So the serial complainers often aren't actually bad at killer, they just want more and more and more ego food. I haven't seen very many killers who have a good amount of matches and are below the 60% (assuming they always play serious).

Also, though I don't think the balance is terrible, I don't love that the balance is basically achieved by some killers being ptw and some being very challenging. It levels out to "balance" but its not the best way to get there.

Or even critters as apose to gremlins.

But yea they really wasted some slots like we know carebears is just a joke but they coulda put other things there.

I could see Care Bears getting cosmetics. There's enough flashy and cutsy outfits in the game for them to do something ironic like that. I can totally picture Julie in a Care Bears hoodie or Feng in some cosplay type dress. That somehow makes more sense to me than Billie Ellish or Eminem. Though I'm guessing that's also likey to be a cosmetic thing (I hope).

  • I would love for Legion to get scratchmarks instead of KI but I doubt anyone who plays him would be willing to let go of the game"s most handholdy mechanic. Comparing him to Jason is pretty bad in this case. Jason's KI is at least counterable. Legion's isn't.

    Fragile Ego's.

Because losing to them is like a personal attack and they cant accept they played bad or just went against better players.

Yes its okay to be bad at a game it does not mean you are a failure or a bad person but holy hell these people trying to use a actual severe mental illness to hide behind makes me sick.

I often get snarky about this topic because it's the same problem with all conditions. Society gets ahold of a term and they self-diagnose. People have a headache and call it a migraine. Spiders make them uncomfortable and they now have a phobia. They have mood swings and call it BPD. Oh I'm nervous? Must be anxiety. Throw in some CC clown making a video about it and it's an I-do-my-own-research joke. It's unfortunate the desire for victimhood as a way to not be responsible for failure and avoid emotional self-regulation detracts from people with genuine conditions.

Drones being able to be placed but not active/slower/not move would be fine. its the same with unknown, I lose my apparitions if I hook someone nearby and it's really annoying.

I'd much rather they'd go into the slumped inactive state while the surv is on a hook

That would be fine if they stayed that way past the unhook. Dredge has that issue, where the lockers closest to the hook are blocked but only until the moment of unhook. So you can just sit in the next closest locker and hold your teleport until it unblocks, then be right on top of the hook. I don't know why so many of these anti-camps are half baked.

I'd say it exists for both roles, for sure. As someone that plays both, I get anxious sometimes when queuing survivor.

However, I always feel anxious queuing for killer these days. A lot of this is to do with personal circumstances that have nothing to do with the game making me a bit less emotionally hardy. Like @Nazzzak, I have spent most of my life dealing with generalised anxiety.

Full conjecture, but I think the difference is self-confidence. I think the more self-confident you are, the more likely survivor will stress you out, and vice versa. As killer, knowing I have only my flawed self to rely on means there's no one coming to help if I end up in a lopsided game or just play terribly. Sure, it's just a game, move on. When I'm in a better mental state I can do that, but when anxiety is present, such straight-forward thinking is basically not possible.

If you are confident in your skills, survivor can be much more stressful. You're more worried about other people's mistakes than your own, because you can rely on yourself to make good choices but can't control your the other randoms in the lobby.

For me, survivor is less stressful because someone else might juice for half the game, carrying me to victory. If I'm doing well but my team does bad, well, that just can't be helped and I can do my best to help, but ultimately if I fail to help then at least I'm in the same boat as my teammates, instead of exceeding expectations.

One bad game of killer, and there are four people in the lobby with me reveling in how terrible I'm doing. 99% chance they're actually not, and are just playing the game, avoiding me, maybe feeling proud they managed to outplay me, but anxiety twists normal situations into a dull roar of ideas and emotions that rapidly multiply until you don't really know what it is that's even bothering you anymore. I think that killer requiring more mental energy to pick up once you get into games with competent opponents (not saying it's harder, just can be more taxing with how your decisions are the most impacftful in the lobby) makes people predisposed to anxiety more at risk of being overwhelmed and losing grip on logic. And like you say about helplessness, it sucks. I think for some people it sucks harder if they feel helpless in the one role where they technically never are. It makes failure sting more.

@Nazzzak is right in the harsh truth here. What can the devs honestly do about it? My anxiety for the role only gets restrictively bad when I'm going through a rough patch with my mental health, something entirely external to the game. Shy of having my killer turn around, reach through the screen and tenderly pat my head, telling me it'll all be okay every time I swing and hit window instead of survivor, there is not a solution to that.

I get what your saying and I think it's an expectation problem. People seem to think power role means they win every match, and that survivors should be fleeing in terror from them. It does seem like when these things stop happening it's when people feel a change. I get survivors that are better than me all the time and they know it. They start moonwalking in chases and running circles around me. I imagine this is why tbagging seems to bother so much of this community, because they want power and they didn't get it and the other players are letting them know.

The only time I've ever felt genuine anxiety playing was during a tournament. It was just for fun, but when it was my turn to play killer, it got weird. My first killer was one that I usually meme with and I chose a gimmicky build and I was totally fine, but my second was my ranged p100 main and I just fell apart. It was being streamed, casted, refereed, and watched by more people than I would have preferred. My hands were shaky and I played poorly. I distinctly remember one hit that went multiple meters away from the target because my hands were so sweaty and shaky that it was even commented on. It's burned into my brain now.

The only way I'd regularly feel this way is if I streamed. I won't even stream for friends in Discord. I hate being scrutinized, even casually. But playing alone, I know no one can see my perspective. That isolation actually gives me comfort. I also like that killer can't be spectated for that reason. I don't feel performance anxiety without someone seeing my performance directly.

And if I felt the way I did during the tournament all the time I would absolutely not play killer. As it is, killer makes me extremely angry, but I can handle that. I wouldn't handle being nauseous and shaky all the time. I'd just play survivor. But for me, survivor has moments that stand out more in my memory. Aside from the tournament, I actually can't think of any bad matches that stuck with me as killer. I forget them quick.

I remember a match two years ago where a 3man turned on me, body blocked me in chase, tbagged me on hook and while I was down, and the killer just ignored it an used it to their advantage. The most offending player told me it's because I used too many pallets and then went on and on about how bad I was. I still think about this match and how negatively it affected my view of the game, to the point where I had to really mentally fight to play survivor. I have a few other moments like this stuck in my mind. It's probably also why, when I identify bad behavior when I'm playing killer, I punish the offendig party and let the others leave. If someone gets left on hook for no reason and goes second, I'll camp them off and ignore them the rest of the match. If people throw for no reason I'll kill them and let the others go. Because, for me, that helplessness of immediate failure because of the choices of others is the worst regular feeling in the game, and playing killer let's me police it so other people don't have to feel that way.

  • @Crowman said:

BHVR should honestly just remove all killer specific anti-camp features. It only makes the killer feel worse while doing very little against camping that the basekit feature allowing survivors to unhook themselves doesn't already do. There's no reason to have both.

No, they just need to get them right. Henry's is a good recent example of that. Trickster is a good example of it being done wrong, where he can just Main Event you the moment your feet hit the ground, making gaining distance impossible. That's not how things should be.

  • I've always been really puzzled by the way only killers are ever spoken about, and if you try to say "what about survivors" there's all this invalidating. What effects one person doesn't effect the other. Being part of a team that you might let down can cause anxiety. Being potentially let down by that team and trapped in a situation you have no control over too. The idea of being murdered is also not exactly chill, whereas killers only have to watch someone walk through a gate. This isn't a killer problem, it's just a problem some people have, and I don't know how you think the devs can solve it.

Its a matter of perspective, I find killer less stressful because I am fully in control of how it will be played, even more so with all the killer buffs cementing it as the power-role.

The fact that you think survivor stress is 'way less prevalent' highlights the problematic mindset I disagree with tbh.

Yeah exactly. I personally find killer more stressful, but I prefer having control over my fate. I don't have to worry about teammates throwing. I don't have to worry if the killer will camp me to death or my teammates will leave me on hook, situations where I'm utterly helpless. Helplessness is much worse than anything I feel on killer.

Yes it does make sense in the way that wrong use of the event-stuff doesn't make it less strong don't you think? I have almost 3.6k hours, I know how to outplay a lot of things, but lets be real: I won't win this game if I play on a killer that's not really strong, I also won't win this game if it's eyries and they use it right with the event-stuff, I also won't win this game if I have to loop around and entire jungle jim for 60 seconds. Sure I can leave but for what? They can waste palettes all they won't because they rebuild, so I'm probably stuck on the next loop then, sure I can also go to a gen but oh wonder they preran to the next loop that becomes impossible through the event. The sprintburst is not better and so on.

Rightly used this event simply gives a lot to the survivors to the point where they have all the tools they need. That doesn't mean that they use it right.

Not everyone in this game on the survivor side uses the event wrong, and if they don't it's not even funny how strong it is.

Is it truly that strong if I'm winning more in the mode than I do in regular without even really engaging much with poison? It's very easy to play around most of it, and to bait its usage. I don't think it took most people that long to figure out. It's that classic argument about a thing being strong if the survivors are stellar and do everything perfect.

both of those killers work insanely well in the event though. If you were losing on them it would be 100% a skill issue. poison on clown is basically and I win button.

I'm only using the poison on food carts. I haven't even gotten the poison survivors quest done yet since I'm only using it passively. I'm playing it almost exactly like 1v4. With Dracula I've been mostly in wolf form, where the poison isn't even an option.

Still doesn't really change the fact that killers are winning despite all the whining.

I've just been bringing ultra genrush timmy build as surv to buy everyone else time to do tables etc:
    -Hyperfocus
    -Stake out
    -Scavenger
    -Leader

When I finally force myself to play survivor to do the quests this is probably what I'm going to do. SO, HF, Built to Last and a stacked commodious. That's the only thing that been beating me as killer so screw it, I'll gen rush.

Absolutely not, but I also don't play a killer like pig or something. Jason has a kit that's relatively good against the event even tho it isn't as insane by now as it was at the start.

Still doesn't change anything about the fact that those effects are absolutely insane, espeacially the global heal that even picks people up lol, the random sprintburst we (op and me) both forgot is also insane, the invincability would be insane with a killer not ranged or speed, the portals are annoying as hell, the palettes you can rebuild even at spots where they never where and also are industructable for 60 seconds are also insane. There is no reason, if they actually use the event.

So you're telling someone there's no reason they should be losing while you're winning on the opposite side? Does that really make sense?

This is the result of 75 matches for me so far:

    Screenshot_20260709_143517.jpg

And I'm not not even exploiting the killers everyone hopped on. The people I'm playing against are very much using the event things. That's why they're losing. They're playing with toys, trying to body block or refill tables, instead of doing gens. I had a 30 minute match last night that got down to two people jumping into portals and insthealing every time I landed a hit. They dragged it out, but they still lost. The people who have beat me during the event are the ones sitting on gens with Stakeout and Hylerfocus.

And it's kinda hard to say "use the event stuff" when it seems like most player are picking killers that mostly negate the effects. Something tells me now that the couple days of whining are over killers are doing quite well.

yeah honestly ive lost so many matches as survivor, its only a survivor sided event if the killer is playing normally. if the killer chooses to player certain killers and uses a ton of poison (and ESPECIALLY if they tunnel, which there has been a ton of) the event's balance gets flipped on its head and its borderline impossible for the survivors to win, especially if theyre not all in comms or using meta perks

Sad to hear it's all Bubbas, Legions, and Plagues. I'm not sure why they don't consider that people will use the most exploitable killers when they design these things. It always seems to be Legion ruining every event too. I've been playing as Dracula and Clown and mostly just treating it like 1v4. I still don't even have the poisoning survivors quest done 80 matches in. I've found that survivors are so eager for saves in this mode that they're giving me lots of opportunities and also wasting time on their toys. The ones who win are the ones sitting on gens with gen speed perks.

My only real complaint as killer is that the portals made playing my main too difficult.

Your quotes didn't work in those replies btw. You might want to edit in a tag for the intended posters.

Wow you really don't know what you're talking about.

So first of all, yes the poison is nice, but doesn't even remotely fix the difference of the event abilities.

Second invis doesn't have scratchmarks at all. But you can hear a glow-effect that's directional and see grass moving so if you play spirit turned around you can still hit people.

Third the portals are insanely annoying because you have to cancel your ability to use them as killer. Depends on the killer obviously but as nurse or blight for example you have to be stunned before, same with vecna that has to come out of his upside down or the other vecna that has to cancle flight. Also the portal are always combined with invisibilty as far as I remember so you can use that instantly and following the survivor is insanely hard then if they are far enough - also I think if you activate the big effect they turn you invisible for a few seconds by default.

Forth: my god the palettes are depending on the map the worst thing you can have against you as killer. Just drop both palettes in main at coaltower and the killer literally has to go around half the mainbuilding, or you drop both palettes (yes you can build a second one then) at a jungle jim and suddenly you have to go around the entire jungle jim. In midwich you can even be stuck for 60 seconds in theory if you don't have a teleport or something.

Also anti-heal killers are not really strong most of the time, so who cares. Also people can play against jason by now (at least some) so it's by far not this easy anymore, and the only thing he can really outplay is the invincability (that you didn't even name btw) - and it's not even only him but every rangekiller.

So you really don't have any reason to lose in this event and I honestly don't know what to tell you if your survivalrate really is under 10% except you should probably get better at the game.

So you really don't have any reason to lose in this event

If there's no reason for survivors to lose then are you losing most of your matches as killer in this event?

  • I played a handful of matches as survivor at the beginning of the event and it was all tunneling Jasons so I dropped it. I've been playing killer since and yeah, no matter how survivor sided it appears, I think I've lost maybe 10 out of about 75 matches. I don't even throw the poison. I just poison the carts.

Honestly glad to hear I didn't miss anything as survivor. I don't think I could have tolerated endless Legions.

  • I've been winning almost all my killer matches so I have no complaints.

I had a brand new survivor in my game last night. I was literally his first killer.

I had one a couple weeks ago with 40 hours. Even messaged them to confirm, though the behavior kind of gave it away.
