I'm sorry this is not acceptable for Skull Merchant

So, with the most recent bug fix Skull Merchant they supposedly "fixed" the bug where if you were on a different elevation, you could place a drone, but it wouldn't actually place and your power would go on cooldown.

Instead of actually fixing the bug they in reality increased the vertical anti-camp range by about triple its previous value for her power both up and down so this bug wasn't actually fixed but instead they masked over it with the anti-camp. I don't know how we are STILL nerfing Skull Merchant but its impressive and a bit sad. Oh yeah and they added invisible ceilings to a couple of places where drones had good/sneaky sight lines, so those drone placements no longer exist.

  • Yeah I dont understand the logic behind this. Maybe a Dev can explain this a bit better in full. We still have heard nothing about her, the state shes in, and whats going on.

  • Just with pig (back where her meme comes from the legendery "nerf pig") they always somehow spit into face of lesser killers, add salt to their wounds and throw dirt in their eye Idk why becuase I believe these lesser killers that are low tier dont deserve such smoke but somehow they always get it.

Lately I fear they more do bandaid choices in fixing, they probably want to save time with fixing and move next but their fixes arent that great we could see it on many killers especialy when certain bugs become features like knight where survivor chased by guard touches window the guard does the same wasting more time and not hitting him or ghoul where his vault has window where he has no colision so if times well survivor can vault through him etc.

Only salvation is for merchant her legendary rework but we all know they arent fast with reworks and even when they take that amoth of time they still have many flaws like latest trickster or mayers reworks where mayers one first wasnt that great. I hope she will get reworked till 2027 but they should do trapper now and then her while trickster was planned for this year and he is done but seeing how time goes by I have bad feeling they will extend it by another year saddly.

Either something gone wrong in matrix and this is its result or it was done by dev who played only survivor in time when merchant came into the game and has ptsd and this is his justice, I cant find another reasonable explanation for this.

I think the likely explanation is that the devs are taking a largely hands-off approach to the game at the moment, I wouldn't be shocked if most of their dev labor is being focused on the big update (I know they said they have a separate team, but how separate is it really?)

If we don't get a large balance update this month, I think that will cement it for me.

I'll just drop this here. This is again another massive failure on the devs.

  • BHVR should honestly just remove all killer specific anti-camp features. It only makes the killer feel worse while doing very little against camping that the basekit feature allowing survivors to unhook themselves doesn't already do. There's no reason to have both.

No, they just need to get them right. Henry's is a good recent example of that. Trickster is a good example of it being done wrong, where he can just Main Event you the moment your feet hit the ground, making gaining distance impossible. That's not how things should be.

Drones being able to be placed but not active/slower/not move would be fine. its the same with unknown, I lose my apparitions if I hook someone nearby and it's really annoying.

I'd much rather they'd go into the slumped inactive state while the surv is on a hook

  • There's no way bro 😭

What kind of balance update are you hoping for?

That would be fine if they stayed that way past the unhook. Dredge has that issue, where the lockers closest to the hook are blocked but only until the moment of unhook. So you can just sit in the next closest locker and hold your teleport until it unblocks, then be right on top of the hook. I don't know why so many of these anti-camps are half baked.

  • Personally? If I didn't have to factor profits of the game/player count?

I'd want large aggressive changes similar to the 6.1 patch that shook up the game in a big way, I think this is long overdue.

On the survivor side, I think too many survivors don't actually want to do gens and just want to meme around and/or mess with the killer. This creates a problem for balance because nerfing coordinated swfs who actually try to win would hurt uncoordinated teams where some are trying and others aren't, I believe that the devs need to set the expectation through gameplay that everyone should be trying to win or keep things like the banquet powers permanent if its going to be a party game. Doing both half-way is the source of most frustrations imo.

To keep this post on topic, look at how widely inconsistent killer-anti-camp measures are. Why do we even need anti-camp if the game isn't competitive? If it is competitive, why isn't more thought being put into it?

I would want the devs would put in changes to reign this in by making most if not all perks/items/chests/totems have a gen progression requirement similar to flashbang.

Since this would lead to gen speeds becoming closer on average to a coordinated SWF, then it'd be a lot easier to balance/nerf survivor so that killers can have a more consistent experience instead of psyching themselves out of a good time by wondering if this team will be the one that actually pressures them by doing gens, and then the average survivor experience wouldn't be so awful because teammates would be forced to progress the game instead of loitering.

Then on the killer side, we can finally nerf the slowdown meta and have something new come up for a change, maps wouldn't need to be as tiny, etc etc.

Ultimately I just want something bold, the current state of the game is 'fine,' but fine leads to boring. I'm aware that the above would most likely be widely unpopular, but I can dream I guess.

  • Well report this as a bug as clearly that is not how it should work in anyway. Someone really went the wrong way to fix something like this.
