if say either a survivor or killer were to create a brand new account - and either escape every single game in a row, or to get nothing but 4k's - how long/many games would it take to reach said MMR cap???
Does MMR even exist? my lobbies always differ. i think it's just like new player mmr then everyone else after a certain point.
They've said before that low MMR and high MMR are a small percentage of the playerbase. Mid MMR holds most of us, so yeah, pretty much is "everyone else after a certain point"

Even brand new players get put into my lobbies on a regular basis (I have >2,000 hours). I see players with less than 50 hours all the time. The matchmaking system is just completely non-functional.

I had a brand new survivor in my game last night. I was literally his first killer.

Even new player doesn't always matter. My partner is below the soft cap and was matched with a 2k hour player recently. This is on Switch, who can only play with one another right now, so even if you're new it will prioritize speed or convenience.

Last i saw from a content creator talking about it, the soft cap is around 1600, and players start at 1100. With wins/losses tweaking it by on average 20 (if normal elo is to be believed in games, which there's no reason to think it isn't).
So realistically? You could get to 1600 after 25 wins in a row. But, in elo, your k-value is usually quite high with very few matches, so your first few matches could adjust you by hundreds of mmr at a time. The 20 per game would be after you have had enough matches for k-value to stabilize.

There is an mmr, but it vastly depends on how many players are available at the time.
I had a pretty good example for mmr last weekend. I was trying out killer (5 matches per killer) and for most it was an easy game and then harder games. But with Blight i lost the first game badly. After that i got 3 unlosable matches. First match everyone tried to hide in plain sight or ran into walls. Nr.2 and 3 had average players. But they didnt do gens at all. I missed like 15 rushes per chase, got zero pressure, but after 20min only 4 gens were done. They were not bad, but they had no intention to do gens.

I had one a couple weeks ago with 40 hours. Even messaged them to confirm, though the behavior kind of gave it away.
