This isnt in order of which ones I like to play the most/least BUT in order of ones are arguably some of my favorites in DBD
- Xenomorph
- Dracula
- Leon Kennedy
- Singularity
- Doctor

Honestly - the forums likely cost AT MOST $15 a month just to keep up. I have noticed that many of the mods here are also mods in the discord, reddit, etc - so its not like BHVR is having to hire anyone exclusively to monitor these forums.
-
just… please buff trapper. He is such a fun killer to play as and against but good lawd is he lacking in every category
-
the discord is a pure mess - and has WAY to many msgs going off at the same time in the general chat + individuals are not able to make their own posts. It will really suck to lose these forumns
-
i know im relatively new here but i will miss yall
-
any chance they may reconsider???
-
this seems more-so as a non-issue if you ask me personally - and this is coming from a non apologetic killer main.

I am just glad to see someone who have there own opinion and don't care what others say.
Some people consider disagreeing with the majority opinion to be an unforgivable crime, you will find them arguing with you and reprimanding you simply because your opinion does not match there opinion or that of there content creator.
If there is no criticism based on logic or evidence, then do not listen to them and ignore them, your life and your thoughts are more important to you than trying to please others and harming yourself.
Having your own unique opinions makes you alive and refreshing. Hearing the same opinions, the same ideas, and copying and pasting from the same person is repetitive, and anything repetitive is boring, dead from inside, and repulsive, at least for me.
So thank you for finally seeing something different! 👍
ty - i dont personally agree 100% w/ most of the tier lists so i figured id take a crack at it.

that is dumb. but there will always be dumb people who dont like others being better than them, irl and in video games. do people really care that much ab what other ppl think?
ehh it varies from person to person. most of the times it doesnt bother me but i still don't like it occasionally. Im hoping it doesnt bother you either b/c unfortunately it is not a matter of *if you will experience toxicity/threats/insults but it is merely a matter of *when - if you choose to play killer (regardless if you win or lose)
The hardest choices require the strongest wills

well i mean even b4 u adjusted u were winning ~ 85% of ur matches with 21% being draws and only 4% being losses based off of my very rough probability calcs. seems like they need all the help they can get
but like i said to ferrousfacade, y should i care what a tiny portion thinks? y even tell me if they arent common
that is a gr8 question - the reason i mention it is that even though only a small portion of the survivor community actually *believes in those "rules" - the ones that do believe in them very much make it known they do. They WILL eventually tell you *awful things that I would get banned for even mentioning in this chat forum lol. To prove my point - about a week-ish ago i made a post about "constant toxicity" or something like that where I lost a couple games to some hella toxic individuals, and in the comments was someone who tried to discredit me/others who might play killer further w/ insults/derogatory comments about our character and integrity (before they were banned i suspect b/c their comments were deleted/account is no longer visible)

seems like they might need it against u
do all survs believe that?
definitely not all of them, its generally only a portion of the playerbase that exclusively plays survivor
+ I would definitely not say that anyone needs or does not need anything against me- i am still learning every day different tricks n tips that i gladly share w/ others.

oh, ive never heard that that seems dumb but it feels like youre being a little unfair and exaggerating?
lol - i mean it when i say this - i was not exaggerating. It is merely a list of arbitrary rules that are meant solely to hold back the killer so survivors can win easier
-
@rmattamer said:
Does Hellfire pass through all obstacles, including large ones like walls and rocks, or only smaller obstacles such as pallets, windows, and low objects?
a good answer would be it can go through anything waist high or has "holes" in it (IE a bench or a table, or a pattern of rocks w/ gaps between rocks)
-
the survivor rulebook is an arbitrary list of "rules" that survivor mains give killers to play by. Its to 1. not kill anyone until you have 8 total hook states 2. dont try to run generator regression perks of any kind 3. dont run any info/chase perks of any kind 4. no lightborn 5. dont use killers that survivors dont like 6. dont try to win the game 7. just accept youre gonna lose and be bullied 8. more nonsense that some survivor entitled survivor main will tell you (I wish i was being unserious but im being serious here)

This a common trend here. People have been saying that "killer is easier than ever" but as far as i know, people who plays killer regularly aren't having an easy time against decent survivors, specially if they are playing lower tier killers. I wonder if this is something related to regions, time of the day or whatever it might be.
from my experience - ive only dominated in games - or been dominated in games when either I am facing survivors that seem to not understand base game mechanics, OR my teammates seem to lack knowledge of base game mechanics (like mending when in deep wound, knowing the space bar is used in skill checks and not an auto-explode they see, running in a straight line from killer, and unhooking before i reach 2nd stage (or legit dying on 1st hook w/ 0 killer nearby)

55 is a comfortable place to be. It gives you more space to grow at your own pace, especially if you don't have thousands of hours yet. Skyrocketing your KR comes back to bite people, trust me. I've felt those MMR shifts very distinctly when I've had numbers in the 80s. A lot of killer complaints likely stem from doing well against babies and then ending up in the big leagues too quickly.
THIS is gr8 advice. Ik exactly what you mean - I learned the hard way why C/D tier killers dont work *great after a certain point. Tanked my Doc + trapper KR a lot after i hit a certain # of hrs w/ them

i'm not as good at killer as you but doesnt that kill rate equal like a 85% win rate
dont beat yourself up man - you got this! It all just takes practice and repetition, and ofc ignoring the survivor rule book at 2 gens left and tunneling/slugging then lol. (which also pro-tip - if a survivor unhooks in front of you - charge up your hellfire and about 0.1 seconds after the moment the unhooked survivors feet touch the ground, use it - you can delete their endurance + deal dmg to unhooker + dmg any poor fool who happened to stand immediately nearby)

i thought the avg was 60% for killr?
is 77% really not that good? man i thought i was doing ok with 55%
thats mostly me being a bit hard on myself. 60% is supposedly the golden standard the BHVR aims to achieve.
-
My advice for Dracula is to fake out your hellfires. 85% of the time when you whip it out, survivors will try and run around you so you cant hit them w/ hellfire. Abuse that. The cooldown for faking out a hellfire is like a second and a half - and you can body block while you return to your normal stance. Doing so allows for a free M1 almost every time - unless the survivor wisens up to your tactics - in which you can try to hit w/ a hellfire.
Me using this "tech" has boosted my past 30 days KR to almost 85% - which still isnt a *ton - but it is WAY better than 77%.
-
I may be one of the few people who believe this - but STBFL + Dark arrogance is actually a non-broken combo. Yes it does offer a 52.5% faster recovery - but that is ONLY a single second. Honestly - I'd be in favor or buffing/reworking STBFL to go from 5% for 6/7/8 tokens to 5/6/7% for 8 tokens.
Even then - the cooldown would not honestly change that much (about a 1/4 of a second). If paired Dark Arrogance then that would then be about a 1 second cooldown, but at that point, you are dedicating 2 perks for M1 recovery that could otherwise be used for gen defense or for zoning (IE bamboozle, pain res, pop goes weasel, light borne, etc)

@indieeden7 said:
Singu is almost objectively the best macro gameplay killer that game has ever seen, on top of that, his micro gameplay certainly isn't shabby. Adding a cap to how many EMPs can be printed during the course of a match would do nothing but create another instance of OG SM where survivors are practically incapable of repairing generators.
if not a cap on the sheer # of emps available - what about a set timer after an EMP where X survivor cannot use/be affected by another EMP. This prevents the aforementioned scenario being present in every game and also gives a chance for skill-expression for killer player w/out the constant denial of ability from survivors who sacrifice next to nothing to stop the killer
-
- KILLER NOTES
- Dark Arrogance - the 25% faster reduction on m1's + vault speed is a solid feature - but it is somewhat lacking when you compare it to the downsides (25% longer stuns/blinds). The perk would see some solid usage IF 1. the 25% faster m1 was buffed (or the vault speed) OR the downsides to this perk were removed.
- Monstrous Shrine - there should be some kind of indicator to let you know when you have moved far enough away, but it is generally a good perk.
- Unrelenting - a solid buff - but I would standardize the 30/35/40% faster cooldown to be for both missed and successful to something like 30% each (or at the very least buff the missed more or buffed the succesful more).
- Nothing but misery : a definite good change but it still is a bit much for a hex totem, 5% hinder is the real issue and it simply wont ever truly be enough to justify using this perk. It should either NOT be a hex totem OR have the hinder set to 10%.
- Thrill of the Hunt - good changes here
- Machine Learning - overall good changes - but the % stats could be adjust a bit to be minorly stronger (or last longer) b/c 1 minute is not *that long of a time
- Knock out - solid changes but i would re-work it so that destroying the pallet does not cancel out the effect entirely - instead over the course of 5ish secs the hinder goes down by X amount each second. OR ever so slightly increase the duration/strength of the hinder b/c of how large a tile can be to get around
- Fire Up - great change - no complaints
- Ravenous - no real complaints, solid buff
- Blood favor- generally a good re-work but if we are setting it to only be on a m1- then the radius/duration of the blocked pallets should be increased a smidgin, but its a good rework
SURVIVOR NOTES
- Shoulder the Burden - Great rework - but it should have a 2ndary effect as well. IE suppose you take a hook state 0 then the next usage of STB should grant X person haste or reset their endurance bar immediately
- This is not happening - solid changes, a bit over tuned perhaps but no complaints
- Better than new - solid changes but i doubt this will be used much, could get buffed a bit more
- Stake out - honestly this change needed to happen (though it makes me sad b/c I cant gen rush as much as a survivor)
- Object of obsession - generally good changes
NON PTB *suggestions
Killer suggestions
- Rapid Brutality - this perk has been needing some love for a long time now. 5% is good but the 10s duration does not really justify losing bloodlust. Either make it a 20s duration or increase the strength of the haste
- Brutal Strength- 20% is more so a feel good effect vs a practical one. it arguably should be 30% - though if that was done, another buff to fire up would be in order
- STBFL - 5% per token is a solid good change, but 40% at the end of the day only shaves off a second. Either it needs to collect an extra 2 tokens or be 6% per token
- Lethal Pursuer- generally a good perk but it should last a bit longer to help slower m1 killers reach their target if they spawn in a bad map for them. It should allow them to be able to get to a survivor w/out merely getting close and then losing aura.
Survivor suggestions
- Resilience - overall solid good perk but 9% faster stuff for being 1 shot potential is a bit of a risk. It should be buffed a bit to 12%
- Potential Energy - this perk is often seen as a meme BUT it could be solid if it allowed for say 30 charges (instead of just 20%).
- Smash Hit - honestly this perk here is really strong BUT it REQUIRES good play on the survivor side. It should have its haste duration increased for an extra second
- Champion of light - a bit over tuned, perhaps reduce the duration/strength of its effects but it is generally fine as is
-
I really don't want to come off as rude or anything - but this does sound like a skill issue. NOW HEAR ME OUT - Wraith can get a relatively easy m1 hit early on in-chase, but after that he is forced to slog through any/every pallet/window in the game. He struggled enough in 1v4 - in 2v8 w/ many more windows/pallets he is in a semi rough spot. To outplay him - just hold W and try to loop tiles normally. Nemesis- his zombies are very niche and are easily stopped or just ignored. Yes - there are moments where they can get you - but that is more-so out of mostly luck vs them being "OP." Gunslinger is more of an aura farming killer vs a practical one nowadays - he is only a 4.4 and can be hardcountered by legit a bucket on the floor if you can manage to get collision w/ it.

There are no tier lists here, it’s a semi-casual game, and you can master any killer if you use your brain no offense, even Plague is an "S tier" just look at Choy in yt
to say "There are no tier lists here" is patently false. If we are to directly ignore the hundreds (if not thousands) of "tier lists" that people have made for different killers - then how can anyone honestly say that a killer (like trapper or ghost face) is equally as useful as a killer like ghoul, billy, nurse, dracula, etc.
Or in your instance - do you honestly believe that a Plague will ever truly be as strong as a Nurse? Do you honestly believe just in general a killer w/ 0 mobility is as powerful as a killer w/ high map mobility?

If it effects you that much that it makes you that much more aggressive then close the chat. It's that easy. You don't have to see it. Console players can't, and they live in bliss.
as a former console player - I can hard disagree - the controls are a lot stiffer + less opportunity for techs/absurdly cool tricks to catch survivors. lol
-
For anyone else who wants to say I’m bad at the game, I’m trash, or whatever - I have 80% + KR on 5 different killers as of the time of writing this. I just had a couple rough matches as a weak killer vs toxic try hard sweats
-
@Oputeev_Stas said:
m1 killers huh? they all have anti loop powers if you can't play them well ofc you are gonna lose, killer players these days only wanna win every match like in Halloween game jeez and close you chat if you dont wanna see…
well for starters - the killers I chose to play at that point in time are publically agreed to be in the lower sections of the C- tier. They work okay in niches but are generally outclassed by many other killers, especially since the whole pallet density update.
but secondly - whether I win or lose - I should not have to be put into a position where I restrict myself from saying “ GG “ or “glnm” simply because a large portion of the community wishes ill on their opponents simply because they can.Thirdly - and finally - saying that all I ever want to do is “win every match” is factually correct - do you know anyone who actively wants to lose a game for honest reasons??? Using that as an argument to try and belittle me does nothing at best- and at worst paints you as one of the people who may have been one of the ones who cursed me out that game. ( are you ? )
-
also sry if that leaked any1. I tried to cover it up to avoid exposing them but it was messy
-
I am well aware my grammer is bad - I'm tired, frustrated, and a bit upset - so srry bout that. I just wish this kinda stuff did not happen every other game. (or in cases like tn, 2 out of the 3 games I played before ragequitting)
-
i do love the combo ngl - using celestial + STBFL - makes M1 killers just more fun to play. Throw in Hex: NBM - and theyre 1/2 decent.
Still, I sincerely doubt I can ever manage to get any of my M1's to the same Kill Rate as my Dracula or my Nemesis - but M1's are generally more fun *most of the time
-
I'm a bit late to the convo but ive actually been playing a lot of M1 killers after the SB nerf. To be exact - trapper, wraith, and Knight

Just some examples ofc - it would not be hard to buff the weakest killers in the game- nor would it become problematic if it was done. Anyone who complains about the mere idea of buffing the weakest killers in the game that are incredibly outdated and disadvantaged from the get-go should honestly ask themselves if their issues, with giving the weakest killers a semi-fair chance to compete, are formed of biases or not.

1 will be unfun
2 seems genuinely interesting but many people will likely hate playing against it
345 seem to just be clown
67 are just worse versions of slinger
Idea #8 - killer can cast themselves plus 1 survivor into a seperate dimension where they cannot down X survivor but the more they hit them or apply some kind of effect (or even just a version of absorbing blood like oni) - they gain a permament effect that can scale over-time (IE faster movement, faster vault/breaking pallets, reduced attack duration, buffing perks base effects (like how Rapid gives 5%, it could instead scale up to 15%,etc))
Idea #9 - killer can straight up eat a survivor -where the survivor is inside the bowels of said killer and have to basically upset the stomach so killer vomits survivor back out. Whilst *consumed - killer gains X effect (maybe flight, 1 shotting survivors, etc, something crazy).
Idea #10 - Killer can phase through walls as an ability but cannot attack survivor in "phase mode"
There are a ton of different ideas that could be implemented - do those satisfy ?
-
@SAWII said:
Those are not the last 8 releases. You forgot Krasue and Houndmaster, who both have M2s but get the majority of their hits and downs from M1s. Also, Lich came out after Unknown. Also also, Trickster has existed for a long time and was already an M2 killer before his unrework.
To the plea for more M1 variety posed by OP: can you come up with an interesting and fun mechanic for an M1 killer that isn't already in the game? IMO, it's not that the devs dislike making M1 killers, it's that their design is inherently limited. There are only so many ways to M1 a surv, but there are myriad ways to invent a new M2.
Not a problem -
Idea #1 - X killer can 1. block windows/pallets and whilst withing Y AOE of said blocked window/pallet they gain haste or apply hinder to any survivor (stronger version of doctor but he doesnt have static blast to find survivors)
Idea #2 - X killer can generate entire walls/obstacles to zone a survivor (imagine being chased and suddenly walls form around you and you are boxed like a fish)
Idea #3 - (almost used like a Myers Stalk) - can directly apply hinder to a survivor to help X killer catch up to them
Idea #4 - similar to idea #3 but grants killer haste vs survivor hinder
Idea #5 - Can cause a portion of the terrain to become "sticky" (basically a glue trap) that affects survivors trying to walk through it
Idea #6 - X killer can "charm" Y survivor and make the survivor walk towards the killer unless Y survivor performs a certain number of skill checks to escape the charm effect
Idea #7 - A killer with a lasso - where if he lassos a survivor, they are either immobilized until they break free, or he can reel them in (similar to deathslinger but much faster and collision wont affect it, but killer cant dmg survivors unless w/ m1)
need more ideas?
-
Hard disagree - she is a pretty well designed killer, even if she does suffer from what I call m2 slop. She is VERY interactive at almost all stages of the game + is very counterable if you know what youre doing, which from my experience has led to *mostly fun games.

The vast majority of those escapes are actually from hatch since I generally dont slug for the 4k unless I see scratchmarks or something showing the last survivor. Jason's mobility is just nuts if you know how to utilize it. Maps like RPD become deadly.
LMAO. I'm def gonna wanna be your killer teammate in 2v8 tommorow/this coming week XD. We'd be unstoppable

this is actually super peak. Congratulations man! 86% KR Is absurdly impressive w/ the current game state
-
this just reminds me of how, before map offerings were nerfed to the ground, survivors would use 1 or 2 map offerings for blatantly survivor sided maps and killers would simply be stuck on the same map on repeat every game.
-
im just wondering why people are down voting this, trapper is in SERIOUS needs of MAJOR buffs .
-
here's what I can say personally from just yesterday. Yesterday I was in a game vs an Oni. One of the survivors that had just gotten off hook took a protection hit and ran off 2x but each time apparently did not realize (or forgot) that they HAD to mend.
I have 550ishhhh hrs in the game (on pc, WAY more on my old console (RIP my old xbox 1)) so it is very annoying when I play survivor and have to deal w/ ppl who do not know basic game mechanics but when I play killer- I'm facing seal team 6 every single game 😅😫
OFC - as you can expect - there was a DC.
-
I gotcha. Makes me wish I had unlocked myers before he got the Cenobite treatment D:
-
honestly it can vary if you win/lose. If you win and get a 4k - and they trash talk you, take it as a complement. If you lose and they trash talk you, theyre just being *unsportsmanlike (I will refrain from using profanity lol).
Another major question - what Killer(s) are you playing as?
-
@Dokta_Carter said:
When ever I feel anxiety I tend to instead of focusing on the match but aspects I want to improve on. "I want to get better at daahing on Weaker" "I want to ensure I get in the habit of bottle switching during change as Clown"
If this doesnt help I then suggest you focus on testing build synergy that you'd like. Yes it might seem like your throwing by doing so but thanks to this I found my favorite perk combo which then improved my play style(in this case forever entwined and Agitation).
Also remember that you are a person, and that your enjoyment also matters. You are not a babysitter but also a player on the map.
Also throw out any rule you impose on yourself. Be it related to killer specifically or survivor. I.e. "your not allowed to run "crutch perks" on ether side" Don't let others dictate your play style.
JSM? is this an acronym I am not understanding

@MechWarrior3 said:
3rd Person POV would be really neat for killer as a game mode.
lol, play dracula (dark lord), 2 of his 3 forms are in 3rd POV
-
there is only 1 of 2 possible causes - 1. is a cheater or 2. a server-side bug
-
For context - this would need to be a client sided recording, for logistical reasons. (IE if X killer got a hit on Y survivor b/c of ping, the recording wouldnt show a wonky hit, or other reasons, etc).
-
Honestly I would say it simply depends on the context of each scenario.
If 1 person is tunneled out at 5 gens, then yeah thats just toxic 9 times out of 10. On the reverse - tunneling out someone at 3/2/1 gens is perfectly acceptable.
If on the reverse- say a killer is struggling to get even a single hook or two, and 3/4/5 generators fly by very quickly- that is toxic on the survivors part.
Yes I understand that those strategies are the most efficient, however, if I am not mistaken - the goal of DBD is not to neccessarily be a super competitive game, it is more-so a "casual" game.
