  • Yeah that happens from time to time but not too often. It's funny the only way to die these days is DC's or throwing the game (not working gens, going down in 10 seconds at beginning of match, etc). My current build is Alert, Guardian, BT, and WOO so nothing super powerful really and I have fun in solo's barring any of the situations above. Well I did go up against a SHPR/DMS Artist yesterday along with a franklin/hoarder Pinhead and neither of those were very fun. Overall we did well considering but fell short.

  • I wouldnt say totally. There are quite a bit of balanced members here that see the issues both sides have. Problem is most of the time someone who takes the time to come to the forums and talk...will be to complain. Most wont come here to speak of enjoyment because they would just liad into another trial instead.

Another issue is when your comments are so heavily favored to one side that you dont/wont consider anything opposing side has to say (lots of these). I originally came to learn about mechanics, perks, etc that are not clear in descriptions or in gm tips.

Any unbiased player will see the real issues in this gm instead of survivor op or killer op.

"Also no anti loop and playing duck duck goose for minutes at a time is boring for the killers"

I don't think so. I LOVE regular looping.

The current state of the game is atrocious, granted, but that can be solved without creating killers that force you to play like a bot. When I first started playing, the absolute majority of the killer cast could be looped in the regular manner.

And I strongly believe it should have stayed that way.

That we agree. Whats not mentioned enough is how survivors have adapted. Outside of new survivors majority understands killer powers, loops, playing optimal, etc which in my earlier daysvwas not as common. The objectives time between killer and survivor is so far apart that spawning on top of gens/hexes, boons, OP maps/tiles, exhaustion, etc are just overkill rn. Not sure if its because of all the content creators or not but not many survivors out there not know how to make the most of every situation.

  • @GeneralV said:

Artist is part of a bigger problem, which is the killers that cannot or are overly difficult to loop.

You can play against her by holding W like a bot and pre-dropping pallets, it is just extremely boring to do so.

Correct. Also no anti loop and playing duck duck goose for minutes at a time is boring for the killers. If they would reduce the power of maps anti loop would not be needed. This current state of game where 4 survivors are spread out, maps are horrible, spawn points still are free objectives so anti loop or high mobility are needed right now.

Not saying you cant win with entire roster but the odds are stacked against them. Right now the only way to die as a solo survivor is teammates or throwing....not the killer. All i play is solo died once yesterday but killer had 2 hook. This is a very common occurrence these days. Your team dont even need to know how to run....just work gens when not in chase and GG EZ.

Best killer in the game right now is matchmaking.

  • I own entire roster and dont want to use any killer.....jokes aside since I on console Trickster is #1 which sucks cuz I actually like him but survivors thinking their gods cuz knives are terrible on console drive me nuts.

Hag - upsets me when people say you teleport and hit guaranteed (because you are facing the survivor) but when i teleport i have to look in all directions to find the survivor (everytime) unclear as to why.

Billy - Just not a fan of his chainsaw outside of mobility. The time you waste at loops with it i could of basic atk twice by now. Add ons are boring asf as well.

Plague - Really really like her but no reason to cleanse is stupid to me, spitting on survivors hearing scream but no sickness/damage is stupid to me, her height is a disadvantage survivors use it against her also stupid to me, shes like a lighthouse walking across the map which is stupid to me.

PH - I have always found him boring asf. His shot is so telegraphed and slow a baby survivor can dodge, trails are a joke which can be crouched over, cages are a joke they always spawn next to a survivor so no travel time and have no synergy with anything.

Legion - They are so ASS. So much to scratch my head about but i will just leave it as ass. You would think since half the cosmetics they create are for Legion they would make the character worth buying and using.

I watched Coconut video and even Scott Jund responded saying what he did was really addon and map dependent, that goes for any killer, you can turn trapper into a powerhouse using his best addons, same with Wraith, this doesn't mean she isn't bottom tier.

Agreed. Does not mean she is either.

  • @Adaez said:

Hit and run is a joke in the boon healing meta.

She is no better than a good Clown,Pig,survivors that know how to loop will absolutely destroy her.

She's not even a real stealth killer since you can still see her even demanifested.

Not a fan of how they did her stealth either. As for Pig and Clown they are two of my best killers. I think with some minor tweaks she can be really good but overall I think I can use her and be happy with results. CoH is strong but it don't make or break characters for me.

  • Can't believe I am about to say this but check out Coconut/Dowsey videos of what she is capable of. You got to use your brain a bit more with her but weak she is not. I hate referencing streamers as I prefer to base my opinions off my own play but I'm console and I already know I'm going to like her. Check it out.

  • I had a blast yesterday running Guardian, BT, WMI, Windows (to help myself), with a flashlight. Huntress tried to kill this D. King the entire game and our solo lobby cranked gens. I was the only one who tried to save both times attaching Guardian and BT to him to give a fighting chance (longer he stays up = more time on gens) and ######### you not he made it out with a 3 man body block to the gate. Those are the games that make survivor fun....team work that succeeds. Even got a lovely message from King "I would die for you" GG thank you.

  • Don't think she will be nerfed. I agree with what some others say (buff the speed boost after teleporting) but outside of that think it would be too early for anything else. I feel like this killer is on the fence to be great....at the same time on the fence to be C-tier. So too many buff/nerf put them to far in one direction. I personally don't think she is weak but also don't think she is S tier. So just some minor tweaks should be good.

  • Played against a few Huntress this week and had no issues. Also you made my morning with "Playing the killer don't help survivor though" I am the survivor I am today because I was a killer main for quite some time. Now I'm balanced and knowing how survivors react to your power, what works and what does not, all help you as a survivor. If you are trash against a specific killer play that killer for awhile.

  • Your right in theory but your wrong at same time. Back when Old Undying was a thing I was exclusively killer only (Did not play ANY survivor) and it was a bit ridiculous. There was trials were they would have to cleanse every bone to be able to get rid of a hex which in turn lost them the game anyhow. Wins didn't feel like wins....kind of like now survivor wins don't always feel like wins because it was too easy perks/totems did most of the work.

Boons are not as powerful as Old Undying....CoH is strong even after the nerf but not as powerful as Old Undying. Boons are easy to track and once you snuff it usually is put right back in that same spot.

  • @Lycidas said:

Best way to handle inexperienced players that you stomped is probably to simply say "gg" and see if they say anything at all

Most often than not, they'll see whatever else you say as "mocking" them and they'll get salty and defensive about it, if they are the one making the first move it's usually easier to let them understand you're not actually mocking them and trying to help in some way

But yeah, salty players will be salty no matter what you say to them

This happens often as well. I try to message Xbox killers all the time to say "hey those perks are not great together so try this" or "If you focused on this or that you would be able to do this or that". Half the time they always say the same thing "Whatever what do you know survivor trash/mean word" so I proceed to tell them I play both roles and have thousands of hours on killer side. Some will calm down and chat with me others tell me to ######### off....which is fine. Even if I can only help half it's still worth it.

  • I believe the issue is most messages/comments are sarcastic or only said when winning. it creates this toxic behavior as killers are so used to getting hate that when someone (very rarely) tries to be nice it's taken incorrectly. He was clearly new....or at least new to Billy and had a frustrating game.

  • DH is a bit more annoying than it used to be but still not the reason I don't have fun anymore...Neither is CoH or any other perk. I don't have fun because the game itself is the same o samo o #########. No new mechanics in entire time I been playing.

As for your comment in Solo Q yes if you don't get brand new players or quitters on your team then yes it's easy (Even in Solo's) but those two examples happen way to often creating STILL a ######### show in Solo Q.

  • I think it's the most balanced map in the game. However it does have the highest kill rate and I can only remember once where I didn't win as killer on that map. I also enjoy the map on survivor as well and escape more often than not on it. Why I think it's balanced.

  • Play both and regardless my opinion is the same for both sides.

No map offering should exist. maps can tilt the odds and even more so if played by a player making a build for said map (BL + haddonfield, Boil over + RPD/Ormond, Scratched mirror/All seeing + indoor map).

  • I wish I could try her so I can judge what she about. I wouldn't do it day 1 but the condemned does seem useless except against new survivors. There is no way to get 7 stacks in a real game unless the survivor does it on purpose (which happens a lot on ptb). That I'm sure will get tweaked in some way before release so shouldn't be an issue. What excites me about her is the manifest. That's like ghostface mixed with wraith (although the 32 meter visual seems odd) but sounds fun. We need more jump scare killers.

It sounds like it will activate only once on each gen in that trial. so a total of 5 plus times depending on it goes.

That's good. Wording through me off a bit. Will probably test but not looking to sexy right now since they only receive normal skill checks and 10% is not much time.

Ironically it´s a better Ruin by not being removeable within 10s of the match.

True. Perhaps this perk will make them re-think how hex play is right now. Not sure how I didn't choke on my soda saying that. Typing it instead of saying out loud helped.

Yup! Or at least that's my reading of it.

Although the perk kind of sucks so I'm not sure anyone will ever see it IRL to test it for sure :P

IDK. It's worth a test. Think might be a bit more reliable if it was 80% or 85% at most. 10% of a gen is what? 5 seconds give or take? Kind of lame....######### misses regular skill checks?

  • @Vampwire said:

The whole point of hexes is that they're a gamble for strong effects. Making them guaranteed for a certain amount of time would lead to some pretty negative consequences. They're strong at the neglect of survivors and changing that would throw off their balance.

Correct. Unfortunately BOONS lowered odds significantly for gamble to pay off.

  • @tippy2k2 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2811016#Comment_2811016

    Once per gen per trial

So it'll only pop on one gen per trial. Like...let's say you have it go off and it's going nutter butters with the skill checks and the survivor is forced off because of the skill checks or the killer comes over. Killer kicks the gen and it regresses to under 90% again. Tinkerer would happen again (if this were tinkerer) where Storm would not happen again once the survivors brought it back to over 90%.

This happens for every gen on the map

    That make sense?

I get the anti tinkerer part and agree with that. So what they mean is perk can only activate once per gen.

No need for per trial saying.

So perk can activate 7 times max.

  • Whats the word with Merciless Storm? Says can only activate once per gen (makes sense) then says per trial (where Im lost). Is this a perk that works only once per trial? if not why it say that?

  • LOL. We been asking for base kick regression to be buff and instead we got Call of Brine. You want it fine.....you need a perk slot though.

  • @dugman said:

It’s kind of subjective but to me anything that helps a killer catch a survivor who tries to loop a tile is anti-loop.

    • Doctor blocking the ability to vault or drop a pallet
    • Ranged killers that can shoot over pallets and vaults
    • Clown and Freddy and Pinhead slowing down survivors at loops
    • Blight and Bubba and Victor and to some extent Hillbilly’s hyper speed. Also Pig’s ambush somewhat
    • Nurse ignoring obstacles
    • Spirit’s speed and invisibility
    • Hag or Trapper putting a trap by a vault spot

So most killers have at least some anti-loop capability in varying degrees. Some examples that don’t (mainly stealth killers)

    • Ghost Face doesn’t really help stop looping per se, he just ambushes people so they don’t have time to get to a loop in the first place before a hit or down
    • Wraith likewise ambushes and gets hits before a loop. The extent of his anti-loop would be maybe blocking off someone using his speed before they can get to a window, etc, but that’s still more just keeping them from reaching a loop before he can attack
    • I mentioned Pig above but really her Ambush is kind of meh at anti-looping. Her main strength is really sneaking up and getting a hit before they can get to a loop in the first place and also slowing the game down with her traps.
    • Legion has anti-loop against healthy survivors, but basically no anti-loop ability at all against injured ones .

    Exactly this.

  • @egg_ said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2810506#Comment_2810506

I would not call clown (and neither Freddy or Pinhead) anti loop though. He's surely got a strong 1v1 kit but he needs to use his power, he cannot fake it and still get a hit unlike antiloopers

That's zoning. Which Clown can still do. I fake a bottle toss all the time. he can stop a loop and hit you if you don't pre-drop. EZ

  • @fulltonon said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2810506#Comment_2810506

He can't deal with actual safe palette though, but works good with windows.

Don't matter. The point of anti-loop is stopping loops. Forcing a survivor to pre-drop is stopping the loop.....loop him normal you get hit. That simple.

  • @egg_ said:

Antiloop killers are those with a power that essentially put you in a lose/lose situation when vaulting a window or using a pallet (the only tools that survivors have against killers) because you will get hit regardless of what you do, and therefore the only "counterplay" is run as soon as you hear the terror radius and just waste as much of the killers time as possible by holding W before you eventually go down

Pyramid head, nemesis, artists are examples. Although weaker, Deathslinger is still an example of antiloop (only at windows though).

Trickster is kind of antiloop as well because he suffers little to no penalty when missing his power (unlike huntress that offers valid counterplay) and it's just a matter of time until you go down. Twins too because victor can hit through pallets and windows and his hitbox is so wide and he's so fast that it can't almost be dodged at all (i.e. if victor misses, it's most likely because the killer ######### up, there was no skill input from the survivor)

To add to this an my post. Would like to mention Clown. His bottles slow you and impair vision but the most important part of his bottles (IMO) is is forces survivors to slow vault which allows some crazy hits you should not get. It would honestly be easy to say who don't have some form of anti loop honestly. Some are just so weak at it so not talked about as much.

  • @fulltonon said:

    I'm genuinely interested.

The ability to shut down loops with there power. So when you can't loop them or cant loop them like normal m1 killers. It's the reason people hate Trickster cuz at certain loops you are dead. Lots of killers have some form of anti-loop just some way more powerful than others. Artist, Nurse, Blight, trickster, Slinger, Huntress, list goes on.

people wouldn't complain so much if only 3 killers were anti-loop.

  • Well we know for sure she won't be S-tier. Best we can hope for is Low A or high B. No license killer is ever S-tier and if they A tier they get nerfed.

I am going to guess can down quickly but has no map control (which would be kind of weird for this character) or watered down versions of both which end up making killers go back to using the killer she was recycled from.

That looks like a "I have no retort, therefore I will pretend I have some sort of moral high ground to save face because I cannot defeat you in a debate" response.

Either way - Camping only works if survivors allow it to work. Stop making it worthwhile for killers, and killers will stop doing it for the most part.

Also, we should fix the gen camping issue survivors have. Those nerds, always camping their objectives. Imagine.

What debate? I gave my opinion much earlier in the thread. When someone over and over again says the same ######### and shows theres no other possibilities except there idea I see no point in bothering. Really that simple.

Something I think would be extremely beneficial to making solo que more enjoyable without too much effort would be as follows:

1: Give more blood points for working on gens. This would incentivize people to do gens rather than farming people off hook, and would also help survivors counter the ridiculous amount of hook camping killers.

2: If suggestion 1 is not implemented I would suggest giving less blood points to killers who camp hooks early game. I understand hook camping when last gen is complete or nearly finished, but the hook camping at 5 gens is out of hand.

3: If suggestion 2 is implemented I would also suggest giving killers more blood points for damaging gens, destroying boons, and breaking pallets to help offset the nerf to their hook camping blood points. This would help ease the salty killers whom benefit from camping and give them incentive to actually be more skilled and play the game rather than playing standing simulator...

Any and all feedback or other suggestions welcomed. :D

Or they could fix the game so the majority of killers don't camp. When I started the only time to worry about camping was ranks 10 or above (roughly). Now anyone and everyone no matter what ranks/MMR is camping there asses off. Seems to me a bigger issue is at hand.

  • @JonahsTablet said:

And it was terrible, I had more fun running around like an idiot with no mither. Killer matches for me are either boring noob stomping, or facing the sweatiest of sweats with their screen so stretched they can chart the stars while looking down. I can never seem to get 'normal' players, it's either one of the extremes and is really jarring to play. I don't know what disgusting combination MMR has brewed for this game, but it makes solo queue and killer such a different experience from what I played when I started. If you're a new player and you're reading this, I'm sorry, this game has begun the process of self destructing and while it can be fixed, if we don't start course correcting now, the games gonna go through another dark age.

MMR is causing some issue no doubt. Not sure how the hell they could fix it without making it worse for someone else.

I played on Xbox one for my first year or two on DBD. The one was a nightmare from Twins release onward and still is (My son still on original). I found a Series S and made it in time before they were gone. The series S (or maybe just the one I have) is digital only which did not bother me but the most important thing.....Runs DBD light years better than the original one. I went from lagging/frame issues anytime I activated/used powers, DH was used (by me or not), status effects, etc to none of that at all. Only time I see issues is when there are server issues which is out of my control.

This being said I personally see no reason to pay an extra $700 or so for the X. just my opinion though which is based off MY OWN experience with both machines..

Also loading times are nice. For example I can open DBD, load, change my loadout, and ready up before my son on the Original can even get to the main menu. It's hilarious and he hates it.

So to anyone who's recently upgraded from the original Xbox One to Series S, or from the PS4 to Series S, etc, how much better is the performance and does it manage to hit a consistent 60 like advertised?

And as a little side question, is there 120fps support? I've heard from some people there is support, and from others there isn't.

I think just about every match I had Saturday involved at least one BNP with BTL and spool. I even had one gamer mad at me because I responded to the gen rush by pressuring them with camping, tunneling.

I'll never understand why people bring stuff to win and rush the game(that part I understand) Then get mad when the opposing side has even less time. So they respond with "unfun" tactics(that part I don't understand)

If you're going to bring stuff to win. Don't get mad at the opposing side for responding to the situation.

Agreed. Then there is solo's caught in the crossfire of this. I'm a solo survivor which is why I am sometimes vocal against killers who tunnel/camp but it's aimed at the ones who do it right from the start without even knowing if they are playing solo's or some optimal team. I will always consider myself a killer main but I play plenty of solo to hate SWF and camping/tunneling killers (my described versions).

  • @dictep said:

I don’t know why campers , tunnelers and noed killers always need to feel they are good killers. If some one tells them what are they doing they feel bad

Ill do the same tbh. I have no interest in giving chases to the remaining 3 and making the match last way to long. I'm trying to end it as fast as possible. So we can all move on

I get what your saying with move on but those other 3 did not choose that teammate. You can 9 hook to salvage the game for you and them.....so you and them can get BP and possibly still pip up. Shouldn't take but 5-10 max to hook 3 survivors 9 times. They would barely have a chance to touch gens at that point.

  • New killer is always somewhat exciting but the game will still be in the same sad state with or without Ringu. She is not going to fix the mechanics of the game so no.....for the first time no I'm not excited at all.

  • Yesterday I played 1 game of DBD. I originally needed to play a killer game because I had 3 rituals but told myself I will do it after I play some survivor. Yui DC'd at 5 gens and the killer still felt the need to tunnel back to every hook. I'm out even said ######### those rituals too. Played gears and watched the first half of SB instead (Really just wanted to see halftime show) as professional sports are a joke these days. Football & Basketball were a true passion of mine growing up and to see what both have become saddens me.

  • @spo0ky said:

Just finished a game where I played as Ghostface and got 3 out of 4 kills. Survivors after the game were extremely toxic saying I was tunnelling even though they were looping the entire game? Why are y'all like this

Trying to figure out why they looping has anything to do with you tunneling? Everyone should play how they want long as it's fun to them. If somehow tunneling is fun then go for it. These days you should be shocked and jump for joy if they are looping instead of pre-dropping and holding W.

  • Trapper - I hate the fear I receive when running. On top my team falls for his ######### everytime at shack/basement.

It might help that I only started in November when I finally bought the game, before Stranger Things disappeared from the shop, so everything is relatively new and exciting for me. Though I can also clearly see the problems, as I mostly play killer (about a 30/70 spread).

I see. Yes my first year I played every chance I could and was the only game I played (at the time). Now when I play I cant seem to play more than one game as killer without switching to survivor or new game entirely. Played one match today with Mike and 4k'd a head on squad on red forest with 3 gens remaining. After I turned on Hulu.

Win or lose I am bored with this game. I wish they would work on a gameplay mechanic instead of new characters/cosmetics.
