its meant after the game dude. You die first, so you either waste time and wait to see perks. Or quit, not knowing what happened....
That's there so that swf (no matter the size) can't be even MORE effective at identifying the killers perks than solo. They already (probably) have comms and can exchange info when they notice something.

The overall point is that bhvr has a really questionable priority list considering there are things that need adjustments much more than either locker saves and eruption, yet here we are
Well we have seen the same time and time again from the devs.
Mori -> easy change -> boom, done immediately
Keys -> more complicated (in theory) -> took them some time (a year, to implement a lazy solution)
Same here:
Locker blind -> easy(?) change -> boom, done +compensation
The other problems mentioned -> a whole mess of changes -> eta whenever (and if we are unlucky, more of those sloppy fixes we have gotten sometimes or straight up scrapped)

Killer mains still believe the "fun" from playing as survivor is holding m1 on a gen
Well it surely shouldn't come from ganging up on/chain incapacitating the killer.
This isn't Friday the 13th where you can knock out the killer to no end.

Outside the slugging to bleed out, always.
And even that can be allowed when survivor force the circumstances by running for hook dead zones or bring an "unhookable build".

This game will be no fun at all as survivors, the basic game mode, using pallet and windows to get rid of killer broke down.
Firstly, every new killer now has ability to ignore or reduce the function of pallets or windows,as a soloq survivor you only can do nothing but fixing boring gens,be found then run few seconds before getting down. even you dropping a pallet, you still get a hit as most of pallet are not safe enough, killers just press w/s to hide the red light then left click, no surprise 80% you already down.
Secondly, your perks have been nerfed to the ground which deeply narrow survivors‘ skilled space. For example, without iron will, there is one-side mindgame only allowing killer to locate survivor who have no way to locate killer but guess. Not to mention killer with bloodlust and their ability. Furthermore DCs, kill themselves on hook,Camp, tunnel and 3 gens have expelled lots of player already out of this game, you can easily check the statistics of players now compare with last year.
People keep asking what the point of fun is as a soloq survivor? Press left click to gens to waste time? Or be the toys of killer?
Uff the irony in the iron will argument alone.
Now that iron will that iron will isn't 100% noise canceling it is a ONESIDED mind game? With survivors and their third person camera allowing them to see around corners, walls and above obstacles?
It was one sided back with old iron will as soon as survivor broke line of sight and the killer had to guess 50/50 if the survivor would commit to the loop or double back.

Its a slippery slope but one DBD Devs are forcing the game to take by constantly punishing solo queue which is probably their biggest playerbase and making the game increasingly harder for newer players. They need to start fixing their game and stop with these random uncalled for changes. The reason they’re getting rid of locker saves is because a dev was playing killer as they normally do usually getting 4ks so they’re pleased but a dev got stunned picking someone out of a locker and immediately changed the game so survivors couldn’t get flash light saves from lockers. That is literally why we keep getting these random anti survivor updates because devs only play killer and find things they don’t like so they change them never the opposite.
Any proof for that tinfoil hat theory?
-
@Roaroftime said:
Im not sure but this needs fixing, a stunned killer shouldn’t be able to down you.
Again, it has been confirmed by the devs that a pallet doesn't stun until the animation is halfway through aka the pallet is halfway down.
There is a small timeframe for the killer to hit. It isn't a bug.

Whats next? survivors spawn broken and last hook state?
Game is actually dying slowly since MMR or the perk overhaul which didnt change anything on killer side either.
Good job. Keep it going

I guess sweaty killers who think this game should have a ranked competitive mode have won, devs have finally caved and are giving killers free buffs when they’re already the strongest
I just don’t get why devs feel the need to add so many of these recent changes, from finisher mori to locker saves
“there’s nothing a killer can do to counter it” …. yes they can lmfao, I do it myself on killer. Just get the hits on the person trying to save, and that’s two people not working on gens so you’re already winning in this interaction.
And nothing added for survivors who are being tunnelled out mercilessly in the first 5 minutes of the game but yeah we gotta hand hold the killers again while survivors out here on 39% escape chance. Flashlight and locker saves are the only thing that prevent a killer tunnelling at 5 gens.
So tired of BHVR babying killers in a game that’s meant to be fun for both sides. Removing skill expression and coordination in a team based party game.
Remove the injured health state next, just let killers insta down survivors. Only fair right? Otherwise those survivors would heal up and there’s nothing a killer can do about that

The other day, a result showed that the survival rate for a survivor is about 50%.
If so, the chance of the killer wiping out the survivors is 1/2 x 4 = 1/16.
Am I correct in understanding that the killer can only wipe out all survivors once in 16 games?
Sorry but in what world is is a half times four suddenly one sixteenth????
0,5*4=2
Maybe i am missing some logical connection here but that calculation hurts my brain.
With a survival rate of 50%, 2 survivor die EACH MATCH on average.
Edit: Ah okay i think I got the mental gymnastics behind the argument.
You try to use stochastic calculation for the 4 k but that's not how that works since the individual survivor rate drops significantly the more survivor are dead, pallets are dropped and gens are done (aka the map gets smaller to patrol) in a match.
The survival rate isn't a constant like a coin toss. You can't calculate the 4k as
0,5*0,5*0,5*0,5= 1/16
(Also the correct abbreviated notation for this would be (1/2)^4 = 1/16 )

No they shouldn't exist. They only exists because people feel like DC'ing because of how the game is. If the game was better people wouldn't want to give up and DC that often because of stuff like the map, the killer they faced, some random bugs, being held hostage, etc. The game would have better maps, better balance and better safety and security so most of the reasons you'd DC for are gone from existing, which then makes DC'ing either a ragequit or an unforeseen non player controled event.
I've had matches where i was winning and i've been DC'ed because of power outages, i got banned on top of the frustration of the power outage. Is that fair? I've lost connection because of some error with the servers, i've lost connection because of rnadom erros from DbD itself, i've lost connection because of hackers, i've lost connection because of this and that and whatever else. How the hell am i responsible and eligible for a penalty when none of those things are my responsability or choice!?
You're ignoring the whole reason of why people DC to justify penalizing whoever DC's because there's alot of DCs. You're only focused on people DC so they must be penalized.
Let's make the game better? Nah let's just give whoever DC a penalty damned be the reason why the DC happened.
What there's manny DCs? Why tho? Who cares why! bring the BAN HAMMER!
How manny people do you think actually want to abandon a match and don't because they know the penalty is worse than killing themselves?
Ther's as manny DCers as people who kill themselves but killing yourself has no penalty. I can still escape if you #########. SAme as if you DC but no no no DCs ruin matches right? Giving up on hook is fine but DCs? Oh no what shall we ever do...
If you feel like DC'ing BUT don't DC it's not because the game is actually fine and you like it. You're not DC'ing because you know the result of DC'ing is even worse than enduring this particular bad match and you're hoping that the next one will be better. And you want that next match to come quick so you can forget the bad one faster. But if you DC you're not forgetting that bad match any faster...
And like i've said and proven the game is made for Casual and Low skill people, these people won't have the will and obviously the skill to endure one bad match anyway so they'll most likely DC. So if the majority of players is Casual and low skill then a large number of people will DC meaning a large amount of people are out of matchmaking and the process goes even slower than it does regularly.
Why would any game inflict itself with very slow queues because they're punishing their intended target audience?
Okay i am not going to read the whole essay when the most important point is in the second sentence:
They only exists because people feel like DC'ing because of how the game is.
If people don't like how the game or atleast a portion of it is is then PLAY SOMETHING ELSE AND DONT EXPECT THE GAME TO CHANGE TO XOUR INDIVIDUAL DESIRE.
Nobody is forcing them to ready up again. Nobody is keeping them from switching to a different game that fits their needs better.
A game doesn't have to change for the individual. The individual has to suck up to a certain degree to what the general community has accepted.
The minority doesn't get a free pass to ruin it for the majority because they can't take things they knew are part of the game. Cherry picking is for solo player games not multiplayer.

ok but can you guys address the idea with prove thyself giving more efficiency on every completed gen ?
I feel like it fits the theme because you literally prove yourself by completing gens. it adresses the problem with 3 gens pretty well because you wouldnt gain much value early to mid game and in the endgame only if you work with another survivor.
I think 3 gens have to be addressed because it drags out games in an unfun way for both sides and gives the killer a win condition he often doesnt deserve if he has failed at getting downs. You could argue that its the survivors fault for not breaking a 3 gen as you have already stated above but i think this is not always the case if the killer decides to camp the 3 gens at any point in the game. its like a backup plan kinda like old hatch. and you cant always break a 3 gen right from the get go, thats why killers often cycle to the most middle gen first.
having this lategame genspeed would make it more healthy for the game. there would still be play around the 3 gen and you would have to sacrifice a perkslot to fight it.
Improving prove thyself the way you envision would make it broken on any occasion that ISNT a 3 gen or in other words would make holding a 3 gen a necessity.
-
Uff, the combination of flip-flop, power struggle and the proposed basekit unbreakable would make survivor already unhookable at a pallet just by having a second survivor distracting/disturbing the killer for less than 10 seconds.

Let's start with everything that's unhealthy for the game: Camping. Tunneling. Rancor. Nurse. Blight. Head On. Chain Flashlight blinds in general. Teabagging. Sitting at the exit to wait two minutes until the killer comes over to watch the teabagging. Tombstone/Tomestone Fragment. Bad Maps and offerings to send you there. Busted items/addons like iri hatchets and commodius toolboxes. The emergency medkit. The list goes on and on. I'm sure I could continue, but you get the point.
From toxic behaviors to imbalanced items, they all ruin people's fun. I get that 90% of killer/SWF fun is to torment the other side and the ultimate victory is to get them to DC, but those of us who don't take pleasure in making other people miserable would prefer not to spend the entire game being made miserable. But hey, let's just keep forcing people to play against things that are blatantly unpleasant by design and assume that's 'healthy' for the game or players.
Then if it is "90% of killers/swf", why even try for the 10% of good games?
The only thing those 9/10 DC do is make it miserable for the other 4 players that have a subjective different opinion about what's how unfun?
The only universal denominator is that a game where one survivor ragequits is harder/less fun for the other 4 player.

Good lord, you sure use a lot of words and wild mental gymnastics when you could just say "I only want to play the game on my terms, and am entitled to quit without consequence if those terms aren't met". Because that is what it boils down to.
Let me rephrase since you want to be pedantic: you know what all the potential values of those variables can be.
Anyone who has played this game for long at all does.
You may face any of the killers, with any perks, on any of the maps, with potentially absurd RNG. Those are all part of the game.
If any of the potential variables is too much for you, don't queue up. If you start every game with a mindset of "If X or Y is the case, I'm gonna DC", you shouldn't be playing, because it's flat out disrespectful to everyone else in the match, and you don't get to ruin games for free.
Exactly this.
If you (used generally, not personally) can't stomach the potential rng the game gives you or a round doesn't exactly go the way you like and you selfishly DC everytime.... JUST STOP PLAYING THAT PARTICULAR MULTIPLAYER GAME. I have stopped, others have stopped, it's doable and DBD isn't the world.
If they can't understand that then the other player have to be PROTECTED from that selfish mindset by giving the entitled selfish players an ever increasing timeout until only a full ban will stop them.

But good job focussing that point out. /S
-
Well the game is incredibly repetitive after facing all of the 28 killer enough times. Maps don't make that much of a difference gameplay wise and there are only so many good perk combinations and them too don't change the gameplay all too much.
In League of Legends i have 150 character with dozens of items, several builds, team setups, lane matchup and so on. (And I basically quit that game also after 10 years)
R6S : 30+ operater per side, each map offers different approaches, team setups, operator matchups
Overwatch: 50+ heroes, with different team setups, multiple game modes.
And even then many people don't stick to those games for 5+ years. DBD is no different but also offers less variety in my mind, so i think it's natural that veterans get fed up over time.

12 hooks is more than feasible for the average player. The average player is low mmr. The lower you go in mmr, the stronger the killer role gets.
Then they will reach a point where they can't get 12 hooks, can't get kills anymore. And that‘s when they will realize that they have gone past their mmr, and it is time for them to go down a bit.
Or, as is so common on these forums, they will whine that killer is such a weak role, and claim that things like healthy hook grabs should stay in the game.
You might want to practice your own gameplay, though, if you are having so much trouble.
I don't have trouble 😁 i don't even play anymore and am on here just for entertainment and the discussions.
-
@Omans said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3235312#Comment_3235312
I shouldn't have to explain basic gameplay.
If the survivor is immediately diving the hook for a save, a good killer says thanks for the free pressure.
If the survivor wants to give a trade, a good killer says thanks for the free pressure.
Nope, I'm promoting boosted killer players relying on cheese and skilless techniques be dropped down to the mmr they deserve to be at. But that might upset the many killers on the forum who think they deserve to be a higher mmr than they are because they are so used to tunneling off the first hook.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3235332#Comment_3235332
Everyone thinks differently, of course. I only go for the 12 hook win. I am a really, really good killer player, so unless I am going up against a tourney swf 4-stack I know I am capable of winning every game. When I play killer I will not intentionally tunnel. Whoever is in my vision, I will go for.
When I play survivor I detest killers who tunnel the first hooked survivor to death. It happens in the majority of top mmr games on the Korean server, and it is so boring. It reduces the game to a 1v1 (the killer vs that first survivor). So when I play killer that's not how I play. It is unbalanced and unfun.
Of course, if the survivors are a full SWF, all bets are off.
I don't think that is too irrational. Just as playing nurse with her busted addons, or playing a full tourney squad swf in public matches, or tunneling the first hooked survivor out at 5 gens, there are things about this game that are ridiculously unbalanced and unfun for both sides. It shouldn't be too much to expect players to shy away from doing those things.
To tie it back to what you said, though, whether you tunnel off the first hook or play like I play, if you don’t have a kill before the EGC, it is because you didn't deserve one.
Aha so you are a "really, really good killer" that doesn't get matched with survivor fitting your skill level and therefore can hold the 12 hook gameplay, cool.
Now let's imagine this game using a correct matchmaking, you waiting minutes for games, like it was in the beginning of MMR for skilled players and then getting matched against probably 4 men swf marching your skill and suddenly all bets are off because the 12 hook style is no longer valid
Survivor are non stop crying on here that they don't want to sweat and have to play in a 4 men swf, so killer don't want to be forced to either but we can't have that in the game state right now.
The 12 hooks aren't feasible for the average player and therefore either the killer didn't play "fair" for the 12 hook and has someone dead before EGC OR they will have all survivor alive at EGC and there was no way around it except no-living this "casual" game.

And now survivor can FORCE the killer to wait the full minutes? Great, you didn't solve slugging for 4 minutes but added stalling for 2 by hiding.
Right now the killer can force gloating survivor that want to rub their win in waiting in the exit gate for the full EGC out. With your suggestion those "wonderful" survivors could just spread and hide like back in the day and the killer has no option to avoid waiting the full EGC.

I love the metric "if all 4 survivor are still alive at EGC, that's on you" and on the other hand "how dare you to focus someone out before 8 hooks".
You can't have both.
And if it is okay to kill someone before the 8th, when? Where is the magical threshold after which it is allowed according to etiquette/sportsmanship to aim for a tilt in pressure aka 3vs1? 6hooks? 4 gens done?

Well if its that unbelievable you better tune in when I get some teams with enough balls to challenge me and live stream it. Watch the stream and get you reality flipped over.
Lose 2 matches and you would have to play another 198 to make your claim true again.
But you won't play 200, not even 100 during this useless challenge.
Especially with your given timeframe of 9hours, weekend exclusive.

Why laughing about my 99% if you just a casual? Be humble.
Because it is just a claim of an anonymous online persona.
You could tell me you are the president of whatever without any proof and I wouldn't believe you either. That's how unbelievable your claim is.
And then all this talk "i am not good. It is just easy. Watch a few streamer and videos and copy what they do."
All that ever comes from you sounds like tough guy "hot air" talk and never a shred of proof to back it up.
Edit: Also you managed to get two DIFFERENT devs/community managers to post in your threads and disregarded their data backed opinions as wrong. Sorry but even the last shred of credibility that goes beyond your own subjective and anecdotal experience is gone by now.

'The stats' don't imply that at all.
You're inferring that from other factors.
The stats don't provide enough data to draw that conclusion, that's merely your attempt to explain the stats.

Challenge me in a match. I made a new post about my 99% win rate. Nothing easier than destroying some forum memember in a custom match. You can bring the strongest builds idc
Yeah i saw and it is hilarious. Where did I ever say "i am better than you" which is the only point your little challenge would be proving.
I am a casual and by no means could beat you even if you were only halve as good as you claim and never said otherwise.
I just said your claim of winning 99% and only losing 1 in 100 games is unrealistic and you never put any proof behind your words. Your credibility and clinging to your opinions is just not believable.
