Killers are dominating games atm. So ofcourse survivors will get some buffs. What you expect? Nerfing weak side?

Oh, did they reveal new stats or is this a personal anecdote?

Thats why prople love billy, he takes unbeliavable skill, yet a decent survivor will always come out on top in chase, effectively making it so that you do not worry if its a good billy, as long as you are good you are safe in chase.

Sounds pretty unbalanced when a lone skilled survivor can regularly come out on top of a skilled killer.

  • Well, from what I gather of the forums, it seems similar to two years ago when I quit:

Either you get babies and easily 4k while having to slow down to not completely scar them for life

Or you can't get more then 2-3 hooks before the gates are powered and they butt dance out the door.

And even the few rare even matches are a stresstest since killer will always the more mentally draining role with it's nonstop active role and need for split focus and attention juggling.

  • Yay, Fortnite dances 2.0 /S 😮‍💨

  • Well the stream seems to have started a new whining wave on the forums ..... So i thank them for the entertainment. 👍

  • Oh really?

Uh boy i can't wait for the day those updates to hit PTB/live, the forum will once again be pure entertainment.🍿

  • Well, both sides are toxic for no reason, they just want to be.

I dont understand, thats what i am doing. If everyone is safe and not hooked, i open the gate and leave. What exactly do you want from me?

Maybe, just maaaaybe, this post isn't directed at you? /S

Just like posts aimed at camper/tunneler/aso don't mean anything to me for example.

  • Sadly, from my experience, trying to be "the change you want to see", one ends up in:

    A) accepting that thee are many shitheads while keeping up your own noble principles

    B) the same acceptance but no longer giving a crap and joining the circle

    C) running out of patience/endurance with people and in the end quitting the game (me)

  • Because it's exactly that, not fun, especially for the killer.

Just a method for the group role to cancel killer powers and assert "dominance" over the individual role in this asymmetrical game.

  • "Fun"

I agree, and it doesn't matter if he was toxic or not. The problem is that he did something that goes against the rules. It's not about slugging, but about being stuck in the game. I opened a ticket on the company's website with his SteamID and all the photos. I hope he is punished, and they finally take some action about this and some of the game's problems. There are several new games in the scene that copy DBD and have already solved various problems that DBD hasn't resolved in six years, such as slugging and camping. You get up after 45 seconds on the ground, and if you camp too close, it doesn't count towards the death time.

How is this situation violating any official rules?

  • 😂🤣😂

Sorry, but "breath of an eye"

So I just played a couple games of blight and I only played him one game prior to this. I do play a lot of killer but I managed to get the 4k pretty easily. I felt like I did well for basically never trying him but not well enough to warrant a 4k at 4 gens. Is he easy to pick up ?

Well, if you manage to 4k with a M1 killer without any power usage then his "skill floor" is low.

But that's not what individual skill floor for each killer is. Using his dash for more than map traversal is hard earned, from learning turn angles, how to get through tight spaces ..... to what part of each map is buttered. It takes a whole lot of time and nerves to get there.

I never successfully played blight because for me he is the hardest killer to play efficiently with his power.

You mean adding penalties to lobby shopping, errr I mean dodging?

We already have something like that. With all the dodging we are ourselves willfully borking up the matchmaking, screwing others with all the backfilling and royally screwing new players too. Absolutely the best thing to do as the playerbase declines. Feels like penalties to me.

Not really, since dodging from other might bork your matchmaking too without you having done anything to make it worse.

A personal penalty is way more obvious and direct than the invisible and widespread problem of backfilled BS matchmaking.

I believe we all have our triggers when it comes to gameplay. Mine are bodyblocking to an extend and sabotage. I hate when someone sabotages me to the extend that I'll remove said player as soon as possible. It can be rationalised that it is for game efficiency but truly it's purely emotional. Getting sabo'd feels like you're about to dig in in your plate and someone comes in and vomit all over it. It's sickening. But it's a me problem.

This comment is irrelevant. You're money shaming someone and money wasn't even mentioned

My example is just me pointing out that reality can be unfair and there is nothing to do about it.

Some people not having the opportunity to improve their situation is no reason for, for example here in DBD, there to be no DC penalty and everyone to suffer because of that.

Imo rage quitting is never acceptable, esp early in the game when you got downed the first time. It's just a d*ck move to all the remaining players. If you don'T want to play against SM, play killer or not at all!

This. Either people have to accept to play against the whole roster or not at all.

Imagine people would ragequit all the time in league of legends when they play against one of the many champions they don't like from the 150+ characters. They can only ban one themselves and there are a dozen counters for every champs in lol.

You can't just suggest they stop playing online games because of a bad connection.

Is it asinine that i can't play horizon forbidden west or other playstation exclusives because I can't afford to buy a PS5?

in ban reset Comment by burt0r
  • @HeyItsQuiet said:

Something has to be done about the penalties. As said above, not everyone has a choice in provider. We had a whole week of intermittent issues where our provider would have random outages anywhere from 5pm-2am, without warning. Since I had no way to predict when it would happen, and no time to play outside that range (and no ETA from the company on when stability would be restored), I acquired penalties. I deadas had to just play other games without these unnecessary timeouts.

That's not even counting DBD Disconnected from Host crashes, which still give a penalty, as I just experienced now.

They CAN tell who is doing it on purpose and who isn't, but they choose to not implement that distinction. They think people will just pull out their Ethernet to avoid the timeout.

    They really cannot.

It is physically impossible for a network system to differentiate between a problem from the provider and the user pulling the plug/shutting off their router/etc.

The server on DBD's side only sees a loss of signal and nothing more. Without any further data it looks exactly the same on bhvrs side and therefore has to be punished equally to deny loopholes for ragequiter.

That's how it is in EVERY online pvp game. Most have a reconnect feature and a grace period of one or a few minutes to reconnect but that's not feasible for DBD since survivor could just dodge certain interactions by dis- and reconnecting for example when a killer is trying to pickup.

Literally two individuals, one without any upvotes/agreements and the other with one. If we generalize this as ‚survivors complaining‘ then both sides complain about literally everything and nothing all the time.

    Were did I ever generalize?

I only proved your claim of "how not even survivor players complained" as false, nothing more, nothing less.

Also those two example were simply the first two i found after searching for "wiggle" for just a minute. Why should I bother to look for more when even one would be enough for my point?

    @jjthejetplane3 said:

Keep everything that has been changed except taking away shortening the wiggle time by hitting great skill checks. Killers are able to easily counter this by using Agitation. So to balance it out bring back shortening the carry time. Instead of every great skill check, make it every two greats. With the amount of hooks on the maps and how fast the killers are already, this would even it out. Especially with the standard gameplay we've been seeing recently with increased rates.

    Just a thought.

the only way to wiggle out is using flipflop, and it sucks.

Cherry-picking you sure can do. Actually in this thread you did nothing else.

me providing actual counterarguments to your claims isn’t cherry picking though.

also remember how the wiggle you are talking about was a beta feature (that granted lasted way too long in its beta phase) that when implemented completely didn’t have the faster wiggle anymore? And how not even survivor players complained that it wasn’t brought over?

Survivor haven't complained that the faster wiggle isn't anymore 😂

There were several threads a few months ago about that missing second shaved of by greats.

Welp. Every time I don't camp or tunnel, or clearly go out of my way to cut off a chase on an injured player for a healthy player; I get t-bagged, flashy-clicked, and told to uninstall in the end game chat.

So now I play how I feel like playing. If Survivors don't give a rats behind about my enjoyment; why should I care about theirs?

This is a big part of the reason why I quit back in December '20.

I liked playing friendly but getting so much crap for it, when one would think that it would be an appreciated breath of fresh air for the survivor amongst the anecdotal endless camping and tunneling, has really taken the satisfaction and fun out of playing like that.

But instead of falling down to the unloved playtstyle i did the other thing and increased their queue times by a miniscule amount by quitting this game for good.

Make vaults and pallets use a different input than locker, gens, chests or totems and voila.

Apex didn't the last time I played it, neither CoD or Battlefield

    Overwatch :

    Small team sizes, check.

    Refill during casual matches, check.

Leaver penalty in non casual matches check.

    Cod:

Small team sizes, not the last time I played. Ergo individual DC less impactful.

    + Refill during casual

    Battlefield:

Even bigger team sizes making DC even more neglectable.

    + Refill during casual

    Apex/Fortnite:

Mostly free for all battle royal with separat solo/duo or team queue. Ergo less potential of teammates DCing when going in team and DC in solo are completely irrelevant since everybody else is also solo/duo.

All your examples are inadequate to compare to DBD since they all have measures to lessen the impact of DCs (refill) or the impact is already close to nonexistent (CoD, Battlefield). And the free for all battle royal Genre is the worst to compare DBD with to begin with, in my eyes.

Other examples of games i have played where DCs either have alternative measures in place or straight up get punished even in casual queue:

    Rainbow six siege:

    Team size small, check.

    Refill in casual, check.

    Penalty in ranked, check.

    Rocket league:

    Small team size, check.

Refill in casual, check. + Bots!

    Penalty in ranked, check.

    League of Legends:

    Small team size, check.

Refill in casual, nope. Straight up multiple 5/15 minute matchmaking timeouts.

    Penalty in ranked, check.

So DBD remains one of if not the only popular/big pvp game without any measure against DC or to lessen their impact. And therefore needs the DC penalty for casual games like league of legends.

  • Isn't the 4k necessary for adepts nowadays? And also part of challenges?

  • @Cyn said:

Ok, so I looked up what MMR is and... how do I check that? Is there somewhere I can find out how they rank me? As I said, I guess I'll just keep trying.

No, MMR is intentionally hidden just like in most other games, but those have at least some form of ranking.

In general, everything about him is outdated, his power is poorly designed, and his add-ons are poorly designed. Ideally, he gets a rework soon, hopefully sooner than later.

In addition to bloodpoints, I've thought it would be a good idea for the end screen to give 'you win/you lose' messages based on the overall result of the game. I thought that would make it more likely for players to accept being camped as it is clear they are contributing to the team. The OP though might be the first clear example of that idea, but is perhaps an anomaly as far as this forum is concerned.

And would that supposedly be defined?

    0-1k/3-4e => you lost/your team won

    2k/2e => draw/draw

    3-4k/0-1e => you won/your team lost

Okay, just to clear a few things up.

I'm not advocating for a survivor to be awarded the same BP as killer. I just think there are times when survivors can be screwed over in BP and it wouldn't bother me seeing a little more awarded to them.

Yes, I don't understand why someone would take issue with what I wrote but like you wrote, we are all different. That's why we have these discussions to try and understand someone else's POV.

"since you play this game for, in my eyes, ungodly amounts of hours."

I don't know how many hours you have in this game but I don't think I have "ungodly hours" Nowhere near the 10k you mentioned.

The you in that particular case was more meant as a wife generalization.

I have 300 hours in DBD (a not insignificant Portion the game just idling while doing something else) and even my most played game, league of legends has probably roughly 1,5-2k.

All in all probably play more or equal to people having 5k+ hours in dbd but divided over a dozen games. So i am not one to talk about gaming too much but DBD especially is too repetitive and more importantly toxic to keep playing it.

  • Urgh, and another queue time discussion where everyone goes "no for me it's different..." And NO ONE includes the necessary info for comparability like region, time of day and platform. 😑

That really should be a forum rule for this topic. All this anecdotal "but for me..." out of context is so pointless.

  • Nope.

The first sentence was aimed at your

"Seeing survivors get a few more BPs than they curently do wouldn't make ME stop playing killer.",

It's cool that you would keep playing killer if they would make the same BP as survivor but i know that many people have expressed over the years that it's an additional incentive to go through the (subjective) "stress" of playing killer rather than "chilling" as survivor, playing with friends and grinding more.

I just think the "but i wouldn't/am different" argument is of little value and have started to try to keep myself from throwing it around anymore.

I don't know if you know my posting history but i stopped giving the "but i intentionally didn't tunnel, camp or slug and still i got X feedback/treatment/whatever" yadayada, because I might have had that experience but i am definitely not representative for the general community.

And there rest was just a retort for your "i don't understand" because that's okay if you don't understand why people would act that way and gave you just another "i don't understand" from my pov which i am sure you and many others on these forums don't share since you play this game for, in my eyes, ungodly amounts of hours.

And then, just like in this comment, i got into rambling. Which is probably the reason for your confusion and I have to maybe work on that going forward.

Seeing survivors get a few more BPs than they curently do wouldn't make me stop playing killer. I don't know why it would stop anyone.

    Good for you?

I don't understand how people can play the same game for up to 10k hours, i would get bored way too fast for that.

Especially with something repetitive as DBD plus no people to play with as killer.

Even my highest hours are barely 1,5-2k and that was league of legends, because I had people to play it with.

Edit: There are just some things where we can't understand the pov from other people.

Survivors should get more bloodpoints across the board. A bad killer game is like 20k bps. A bad survivor game is like 5k.

And killer is always playing alone, no option to play with friends, and is generally more mentally draining with the nonstop action/being active/having to make decisions and having to concentrate/focus.

No breaks, doing a gen unpressured or going for a save with the killer is evidently distracted in another chase.

Take the higher BP amount as an additional incentive away and you will see a big increase in queue time OR an even worse decrease in matchmaking quality, if that's possible depending on region and time of day.
