  • I don't know what you people expect from those greedy companies nowadays. Their only method is amap= as much as possible, in this case cash they can milk you for.

And even better many sheep will still buy it and encourage them to do it again and again.

  • Yeeeeeees, come to our side. 😎

All hail our lord and saviour Lightborn.

    Maybe, just maybe

BHVR should just fix the matchmaking for lobby dodges

Maybe that's the thing you should be complaining about

They should make two matchmaking options:

    Quality or speed.

So people that actually want to play an exciting and even match are probably willing to wait more for it and the others can hop from one match to the other, but shouldn't complain about unfair matches.

But of course splitting the limited playerbasee of this asymmetrical game could have detrimental effects overall.

Don't forget that there is also a new achievment, that dropped with this chapter, that needs survivors to get hit while having the endurance effect. I know that I started running towards the killer and baiting a hit, after getting a couple of matches in a row without a single stack on that achievment ^_- I am sorry, but I am an achievment hunter. Only two more endurance hits and I am back to normal gameplay and enjoying my cute "227 of 227" achievments number.

It's all good as long as you don't cry "wahwah bad tunneler" afterwards 😉

Asymmetrical doesn't mean only one side gets to have new perks that are moderately useful. Eruption meta lasted 9 months before it was nerfed, and you're crying over a much less impactful perk after less than a week.

Oh boy, you better don't open that can of worms when there where multiple hardcore meta perks that took YEARS to get effectively nerfed.

  • I would say this would need to come together with a punishment or other form of preventive measures against first hook suicides, which aren't much else than lobby shopping on the survivor side.

I hold what might be an unpopular opinion that lobby shopping is worse.

Early DC can ruin a match for 4 other players, but a lobby dodge ruins it for 5 others.

Although if the matchmaker didn't basically shut off to prioritize a back fill I might not feel that way.

I would argue that the damage lobby shopping does is just as random as the matchmaking itself and might (to a high degree) ruin matches but an early DC or hook suicide is a 100% definitively ruined match every time.

Is Adrenaline op too? Lithe & SB are broken? Because now killers are complaining about these perks. Looks like you guys never stop complain about survivor perks. Whenever devs nerf something, you are just going to next.

Let's be real, both sides are exactly the same in that regard, neither any better than the other.

As Nemesis main , you are just wrong. I never needed Franklin on him. It used mostly by Pinhead mains for obvious reasons.

    Come with better arguments.

Sorry you didn't even get the point and then get this arrogant? Uff.

They didn't talk about Franklin's but the ability to carry normal item AND special item indefinitely aka have an EMP or vaccine always at the ready to use. No decision between normal item and killer specific, no you can carry both.

A net nerf for all those killer in form of decreased passiv pressure those killer are designed around.

  • Well that happens when you release a killer with a built in replenishable off button for their power in survivor control.

  • While it is correct that taunting will cause a reaction and therefore nobody that Tbags should ever be surprised or complain about gettingcamped/tunneled/slugged, saying that i"f you don't tbag, you won't get slugged" is false and naive.

It's the hen and egg cycle. One will increase the odds of the other but both happen on their own no matter of circumstances all the time.

I played explicitly friendly (no camping, tunneling and slugging only to avoid an early kill) and still got a hefty amount of tbagging and other BM.

And it is probably the same for peacefully playing survivors that don't taunt and still get camped/tunneled/slugged for whatever reason.

  • @Boons123 said:

You assume that all SWFs are:

    -planners

    -They all have great skills

    -coordinators

-They all bring the most powerful perks and items

-They share information between them accurately

-They have a very high quality

-have external connections (such as Discord)

    - toxic

Then you expect the developer to respond to you

This is the result of the generalization

I play with my friends just for fun and experience different perks in a game

Well, you can't convince me that you and your friends don't make call outs like "it's killer x", "they have perk y", "the killer is on my butt", "leading them to landmark z", "killer is camping/left the hook and is coming to you guys" and before the interface change "my gen is X% done" and "I am y% recovered".

Even the most casual noob teams my calls like that on instinct.

Of course making use of such information is a whole different story but on average it will increase the teams performance.

I hope you understand that if every killer decided to ignore the hooks entirely this game would be the most miserable, unfun and boring experience for survivor players imaginable. Killers would camp the first downed survivor forcing the rest of the team to let them bleed out. The entire game would turn into nothing but altruism and there would be little to no time at all to work on gens.

Wouldn't that be more punishable by focusing on gens than regular camping?

2 hook stats with 60 seconds each, punishable by gen rushing.

Bleed out with double the time, suddenly not punishable with gen rush?

And the slug can even lure the killer into q disadvantageous position by crawling.

(Of course it would be twice as boring for the slugged survivor than the comparatively hooked)

  • Yeah, I had such a encounter in after game chat too. And looking back I know I should've said nothing and moved on it stride but at the time I wasn't feeling it.

So now to my story, I don't remember which killer I played or which map it was but I remember it was a miserable game where matchmaking had borked me and it ended with 2-3 hooks and 10k BP or less for me.

In aftergame Chat one of the survivors gave me a "gg" upon which I answered with "not for me", because it was a miserable match where I couldn't do anything with the killer I had no experience on (most probably blight, 😮‍💨). Cue them letting it rip with all kinds of insults up to advices to my live short. And it wasn't only the one survivor with the "gg", they suddenly all chipped ok at the killer that wasn't "grateful" for their "GG".

  • @Beatricks said:

I usually don't, it's very boring and really embarrassing if you mess it up. I just leave and let them have a nice experience.

Yeah, the nice experience of tbagging/vault spamming till the last second, waiting for the killer to witness their escape, followed up by trash talk in endgame chat. 😮‍💨

There's not exactly a plethora of asym games out there.

Casual multiplayer games do not punish for leaving a casual match often. Comp? Sure. But a QP style match with barebones matchmaking isn't often met with bans for leaving.

DBD is an anomaly and I find it intriguing

Like I mentioned, WoW and for example league of legends also punish for leaving, even in casual queue, because even a single leaver has a big impact on such small team sizes.

I don't know how it is with a leaver penalty in casual queue ATM in rainbow six siege or rocket league, two other games with fixed small teamsizes (that each game is balanced and designed for), but they both have refill, RL even bots.

The impact of even a single disconnect in DBD and games with small fixed team sizes in general, is too great to not have a leaver penalty system, even in casual queue. Otherwise those games won't ever work or suvive in the long run.

  • No idea, I don't play anymore but I would love some official stats since I think the last ones are over a year out of date and many changes have happened in the meantime.

  • @Pulsar said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3446729#Comment_3446729

    Pretty sure QP doesn't.

    Apex doesn't. Fornite doesn't.

Non-competitive games almost NEVER ban for leaving a lobby.

    Uh boy, more "excellent" comparison.

Fortnite, apex, Pubg and so on are huge free for all's with 100 people playing against each other.

If I am informed correctly you can even intentionally join as solo into duo or team queue and team sizes aren't even matched.

Either you play as a team with premades, where ragequitting can be punished by no longer replaying with them, or with randoms, which aren't really any kind of help since there is no real coordination aka when they leave it doesn't make much of a difference.

  • @Pulsar said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3444625#Comment_3444625

I see people quit out of CoD games, OW QP games and Battlefield games all the time without any sort of punishment.

Nice, you picked exactly the two exceptions to the whole ordeal because of big team sizes and refill.

Cod and battlefield have teamsizes of 12+ people (hence why no one brings them up in these discussions), so the individual DC doesn't matter, just like in a 10-25 person raid in wow (btw even there, leaving a 5 people dungeon group locks you out of queue for a certain time).

And ow qp? Really? As if anyone gave anything about that mess when playing with randoms, the game is already chaos as is, plus it also has refill.

My internet is fine, it happens rarely but even though i did not DC the last 500 trials, if i loose my connection, i do not understand why i should be punished.

There are statistics about the numbers of DC, if you never do it and it happens once, why should you get a penalty ?

And about ruining the game, it is already ruined by camping/tunneling in every trials but it is another subject.

It's "taking a bullet for the overall greater good".

And what statistical value would be adequate for this free DC one in a while?

I'm confused - do you think I'm arguing in favour of survivors being able to see killers in lobby? Because I haven't said that once. Play the cards you're dealt, whether killer or survivor.

Oh yeah, might've missread/-interpreted this part:

My point anyway was that if survivors had the option to killer dodge in lobby, they absolutely would. They don't have that option, so they do it in game

My bad. I set the "option to dodge" equal to "see the killer". And attributed your comment the same tone like the one from Sulaiman in the heat of the moment.

  • Ugh, those flies that want to swarm around you were on of if not the MOST annoying thing as a casual friendly killer.

Even if you play normal, hit them all and slug them, the moment you go to hook one of them, one of the other uses ub and they nearly completely reset.

At that point i mentality quit and just goofed around with my power depending on the killer or in extreme cases switched to my other screen and waited for them to get bored and finally finish the last 99ed gen so i could open the gates.

  • @Nazzzak said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3442272#Comment_3442272

Both are avoiding games they perceive to be challenging or boring. My point anyway was that if survivors had the option to killer dodge in lobby, they absolutely would. They don't have that option, so they do it in game. I'm also not saying it's right or that I agree with it. I'm saying why it happens.

    @sulaiman said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3442903#Comment_3442903

But then the solution is easy: Let survivors know what killer they go against, and let them lobby dodge.

Result: slightly longer queue times, but no more ruined matches. Also, since a lot of hard counters from killers are now removed (calm spirit and doctor might be left, and plague and/or no mither might be an issue), there is not too much to do with that information as survivor. Thus, parity would be restored.

btw, wouldn´t it be entitlement to demand that other players to remain in a match with you, no matter how boring, unfair or whatever you play?

Oh boy, I see you people don't read a whole thread before commenting since i had this argument here already.

Survivor all look the same. They are placeholder and neither their perks, the quality of their item nor the size of their premade group (aka solo or 2/3/4 people swf) is really distinguishable outside of steam profiles.killee can't pick specific countermeasures against them except for antiheal, franklins or Lightborn.

Killer on the other hand have their individual powers, play styles and countermeasures, from the mentioned calm spirit/doctor, flashlight/hag, no heal/legion/plague to just picking map offerings against for example stealth killer with open maps or against ranged/rush killer with cluttered maps.

There is no reasonable comparison at all.

And I haven't even talked about the individual popularity of killers and the grave disparity in queue time increase killer player would get based on the character they want to play, NO MATTER THEIR ACTUAL PLAYSTYLE.

  • @sulaiman said:

Well, what do you say to killer that lobby dodge, because they see 4 toolboxes? ITs basicly the same, killers just can dc before the match starts because they can act on information they got before, while survivors just receive that information in the match.

But it still is basicly the same.

And I repeat my earlier comment to this argument:

Ragequit during the game => ruined match for the rest

Lobby dodge => slightly longer queue time and I would argue the quality of the matchmaking can't get much worse

The dodge MIGHT make the next match unbalanced, the quitter DEFINITELY wasted everybodies time.

Its not a bad mechanic but it doesn't actually affect the good campers. Blight, Nurse, Bubba or spirit? Wow they stand 16 meters away and when you get in the hook animation that get a little closer while you're close causing the meter gain to be (assumingly) way slower and you keep backing away until you're forced to save in before 2nd/death hook. Still resulting in a trade which they can still snowball off of.

I never said it's a good measure, only that I don't think it will be scrapped or excessively complained about (yeah I know, there already have been some doomsday threads about it but only isolated ones).

Of course the meta killer can basically ignore it altogether but adjusting a working Anticamp mechanic to all 31 killer demands a way more detailed and layered individual approach. But I guess this is too much work when I see the measures behaviour has taken for many of year long problems/complaints (*cough* Mori/key pure boring number change solutions *cough* *cough*)

  • @bm33 said:

I want them to either show killer so survivors have option to dodge OR skip the lobby/offering screens and have players go directly from "looking for match" to loading into match so neither side can dodge.

Honestly I think the dodging one will be hilarious. Have killers dodging high prestige, anonymous, thinking it's swf and items while survivors dodge specific killers and high prestige. Be great to see what the matches are like when finally get a lobby willing to play with eachother. 😂

When you are at it let killer also see whose in an swf. That way it will kill the game with certainty.

The immediate load in would be nice. One minute less wasted by the indecisive or the last second switchers. No change for me as a casual. I had my mostly fix built and my trusted companions Lightborn (praise be the lord) and franklins (if i felt a little bit nasty).

If i wasn't profile checking out of boredom, i was mostly off screen watching something on my other monitor.

But lobby dodging borks up the matchmaking and creates backfilling, often leading to very one-sided games.

So did the softening of matchmaking parameters in favor of speed. I have given up on this system when it was ranks and this new one has devolved into something that's not any better.

Still ragequitting is a more atrocious problem.

lobby shopping causes more damage than “slightly longer queue times.” It also harms the MMR system. There was one guy here—he’s probably someone you’d find agreeable—who admitted that he lobby shops specifically to pair with much weaker survivors. Then he destroys them. So it’s certainly more caustic than your dismissive platitude about queue times, hon.

Nice accusation, i have never "lobby shopped" and only one intentional DC in my 300 hours.

Also please, the matchmaking is already in the dumps in favor of short queue times.

Also, also don't call me hon. I just can't take anybody seriously when they use derogatory terms like bro, dude, hon and so on. (Same with written rofl, lmao or lol)

This is good argument for survivors to be able to see killer in lobby so they can also lobby dodge judt like killers can when they think it will be an unfun match.

    Not really.

Survivor look all the same, as in you can't see what kind of item quality they are carrying and what perks they have.

Killer all have vastly different popularizes leading to partially immensely inflated queue times.

But sure let's implement it, no skin of my back, i don't play anymore.

Just another idea i wish the devs would implement just for you and me to see how much it would break. 😁

Still no "Genrushing"-Build at all. I mean, for Forum-Killers probably. But objectively? Nah.

Well, while i see two extra resilience additionally to the toolbox (with a BNP), i also wouldn't call this full genrush.

But my comment was more aimed at the second halve of your post about the lone survivor without any form of improved gen efficiency.

  • While my opinion might be less useful since i don't play anymore actively, i don't really see a problem with the presented anti-FACE- camping mechanic.

16 meters don't seem that bad and would still allow for proxy camping.

Even bubba can rush in with his chainsaw and down both unhooker and unhooked, just not at point blank range. And even when the unhooker aborts, the bar won't fill up since killer and unhooker will most likely be in chase at that point.

  • @Nazzzak said:

There's no point getting upset about it. You can't control how others behave. There are players who dodge in lobby when they see apparent swfs with toolboxes or high prestige players. Survivors don't have the option to killer shop so it's not unusual for this to happen in games. I play solo and see people go afk or DC when they see who the killer is.

Lobby dodge => slightly longer queue time

DC upon killer conformation => completely ruined the match for everyone involved left behind.

    Notice the difference?

Ada and Nancy had a identical build. So possibly a 2 or 3 man swf. With Thaliita being the only player who didn´t knew what was going on.

Biggest issue the community has is, that people can´t put themselves into the position of the other side. They find something fine, as long as it benefits them and find the same thing unfair, when it benefits the other side. Instead of just enjoying the variety and chance to play different, they just stick to the same strategy/loadout.

    But nice cherry picking.

Dunno, left the game December '19, played 3 matches during anniversary '20, and the last time I booted it up is seemingly September last year but probably just for a cosmetic Amazone prime loot code.

    1) How would you use it in combination? Plz make sense of how you use 2 exhaustion perks simultaneously.

    2) Time? Timing a 0.5 second window with latency involved is 99% luck.

    3) Yes. Allowing an opportunity before unhook would still be a nerf, and would remove the annoying and unnecessary requirement. A killer main should not mind this because a good killer should only fall for one DH max. Why couldn't that one DH you fall for be before hook? I don't understand why that would even matter

    4) Killers are stronger in current DBD than they used to be. Old DH I don't think would be as much of an issue now. It certainly seemed to be less triggering than the hit-negation aspect it has now.

    1) 10 second of exhaustion are recoverable during a chase by a skillful survivor, even more so with vigil.

    2) 3 seconds invincibility means 12 meters of save travel to the next pallet or window with the alternativ being the speed boost from a hit.

    3) Survivor have hated Nied for ages because it comes suddnely without tell, same to DH. Killer would've to treat all survivor like they have the perk AGAIN. Also falling for dh once is 30+ seconds of additional chase time PER SURVIVOR.

    4) Dead hard for distance was one of the biggest BS thing in this game. Greeding for additional loops at a pallet or using it outside of the killers reach to get to the next window without ANY chance for counterplay for normal M1 killer was ridiculous. Even moreso without any requirements to set the perk up like for example MoM. And neither getting injured nor unhooked is fulfilling that criteria.

  • Well consoles also don't have any graphics or more importantly performance optimization after 5 years.

So i don't know what you expect for a single killer.

  • Aka make one aspect of it feel broken again so it will be used again.

    1) "Let me get ist value AND use it in combination with another exhaustion perk please."

    2) "I don't want to have to time my on demand invincibility perk after i fulfilled it's activation requirements."

3)"The requirements are unfair, one free use again please"

    4) We all know why this BS aspect without downside or risk was nerfed first.

  • Why, i only said it's a hassle to get there for EVERY hook. It's fine when survivor aren't careful and end up there.

I was also one of the people that suggested for the killer to have their spawn fix down their for atmosphere and to get rid of survivor spawning in visual range of the killer.

  • Nah, too much work to get into the basement everytime.

How were you able to get through your matches in 2017 without ruin

I have never used any gen perks except for maybe pop.

Only staple perk was bbq for the additional objective plus more BP and the rest was mostly passiv enhancements like iron maiden for faster locker or bamboozle for faster vaults or the aforementioned Lightborn when I saw some beamers in Lobby until it also became a permanent companion so i can go off screen during lobby.

what if the devs actually nerfed killers with the most popular complaints against killers. For an example:

    (Anti Camping and Tunneling)

(nurse reworked with a new power)

    (blight’s alchemist ring nerfed)

    (3 gen more spread out)

I wonder what would happen, I’m very curious on how different the game would be

I am always for the devs to "cave in" into many of those outrages demands for a weekend just to show many delusional people what kind of horrible consequences their suggestions would have, from nerfs to S tier killer, taking out any possibility for the unloved killer play styles, over nerfing swf/showing which survivor is Ina premade Team up to the official (so it's immediately public knowledge) removal of any DC penalty.

Just to see the car wreck burn and those demanding people react to it.

I knew this was coming. Yes. But why we are acting like all gen perks nuked?

PR, Deadlock, Jolt are still strong perks. Pop is still here and there. Sloppy rised to meta for make healing slower. I am not saying this meta is strong as gen kick meta. But we still have some decent anti-gen perks.

I don't know or care, haven't played since Dec '19.

So i don't judge balance (except pop which is from a pure logical standpoint a joke compared to before with it's current gen progress) but arguing as if only one side got something taken or added is always BS.

Edit: And back to our original point, saying that killer are domineering at the moment is just anecdotal speculation since it has been such a long time since the last official data release and the myriad of changes in the time since then.

I understand your frustration, but the way you described a hopeless situation at the end of your post… well, people have different opinions on what that is. Mayhaps these teammates of yours who ‘give up’ on hook believe the match is lost when they’re hooked. Maybe they see that as a hopeless situation because they see their teammates doing frivolous things. You dunno. 🤷‍♀️ It’s not always griefing. Sometimes people just don’t like the playstyles of players they’ve been matched with. If it’s really a bother to you, you should try SWF.

I would say those people that disconnect when the team doesn't do exactly what they expect, aka they aren't ready to accept the circumstances of random teammates, should look for premade teammates that fulfill their expectations.

Playing crappy is just being bad and part of random matchmaking, disconnecting is braking the rules and rightfully punished.

I speak from experience with a multitude of games with random matchmaking.

Either you (general) are prepared for everything that random queuing encompasses or look for a fix team.

When they revealed it the last time , killers were dominating. This was before Dead Hard, CoH and healing nerfs.

And probably before the eruption/gen kick meta deletion, right?
